Add the pinctrl driver for Meson-G12A SoC which share the similar IP as
the previous Meson-AXG SoC, both use same pinmux ops (register layout).
A new driver is needed here due to the differences in the pins.
Starting from Meson-AXG SoC, the pinctrl controller block use 4
continues register bits to specific the pin mux function, while comparing
to old generation SoC which using variable length register bits for
the pin mux definition. The new design greatly simplify the software model.
For the detail example, one 32bit register can be divided into 8 parts,
each has 4 bits whose value start from 0 - 7, each can describe one pin,
the value 0 is always devoted to GPIO function, while 1 - 7 devoted to
the mux pin function.
Please note, the GPIOE is actually located at AO (always on) bank.

When requesting a gpio as an interrupt, we should make sure to mux the
pin as the GPIO function and configure it to be an input so that various
functions or output signals don't affect the interrupt state of the pin.
So far, we've relied on pinmux configurations in DT to handle this, but
let's explicitly configure this in the code so that DT implementers
don't have to get this part right.

We rely on devices to use pinmuxing configurations in DT to select the
GPIO function (function 0) if they're going to use the gpio in GPIO
mode. Let's simplify things for driver authors by implementing
gpio_request_enable() for this pinctrl driver to mux out the GPIO
function when the gpio is use from gpiolib.

The interrupt controller hardware in this pin controller has two status
enable bits. The first "normal" status enable bit enables or disables
the summary interrupt line being raised when a gpio interrupt triggers
and the "raw" status enable bit allows or prevents the hardware from
latching an interrupt into the status register for a gpio interrupt.
Currently we just toggle the "normal" status enable bit in the mask and
unmask ops so that the summary irq interrupt going to the CPU's
interrupt controller doesn't trigger for the masked gpio interrupt.
For a level triggered interrupt, the flow would be as follows: the pin
controller sees the interrupt, latches the status into the status
register, raises the summary irq to the CPU, summary irq handler runs
and calls handle_level_irq(), handle_level_irq() masks and acks the gpio
interrupt, the interrupt handler runs, and finally unmask the interrupt.
When the interrupt handler completes, we expect that the interrupt line
level will go back to the deasserted state so the genirq code can unmask
the interrupt without it triggering again.
If we only mask the interrupt by clearing the "normal" status enable bit
then we'll ack the interrupt but it will continue to show up as pending
in the status register because the raw status bit is enabled, the
hardware hasn't deasserted the line, and thus the asserted state latches
into the status register again. When the hardware deasserts the
interrupt the pin controller still thinks there is a pending unserviced
level interrupt because it latched it earlier. This behavior causes
software to see an extra interrupt for level type interrupts each time
the interrupt is handled.
Let's fix this by clearing the raw status enable bit for level type
interrupts so that the hardware stops latching the status of the
interrupt after we ack it. We don't do this for edge type interrupts
because it seems that toggling the raw status enable bit for edge type
interrupts causes spurious edge interrupts.

- gnss, finally an in-kernel GPS subsystem to try to tame all of
the crazy out-of-tree drivers that have been floating around
for years, combined with some really hacky userspace
implementations. This is only for GNSS receivers, but you
have to start somewhere, and this is great to see.

new fpga drivers, and loads of DT bindings for all of these and existing

This GPIO controller can serve as an interrupt controller as well on the
GPIOs it handles.
An interrupt is generated whenever a GPIO line changes and the
interrupt for this GPIO line is enabled. This means that both the
changes from low to high and high to low generate an interrupt.
For some use cases, it makes sense to ignore the high to low change and
not generate an interrupt. Such a use case is a line that is hold in a
level high/low manner until the event holding the line gets acked.
This can be achieved by making sure the interrupt on the GPIO controller
side gets acked and masked only after the line gets hold in its default
state, this is what's done with the fasteoi functions.
Only IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_BOTH and IRQ_TYPE_LEVEL_HIGH are supported for now.

There is a bug in regards to deferred probing within the drivers core
that causes GPIO-driver to suspend after its users. The bug appears if
GPIO-driver probe is getting deferred, which happens after introducing
dependency on PINCTRL-driver for the GPIO-driver by defining "gpio-ranges"
property in device-tree. The bug in the drivers core is old (more than 4
years now) and is well known, unfortunately there is no easy fix for it.
The good news is that we can workaround the deferred probe issue by
changing GPIO / PINCTRL drivers registration order and hence by moving
PINCTRL driver registration to the arch_init level and GPIO to the
subsys_init.

The AMD pinctrl driver demultiplexes GPIO interrupts and fires off their
individual handlers.
If one of these GPIO irqs is configured as a level interrupt, and its
downstream handler is a threaded ONESHOT interrupt, the GPIO interrupt
source is masked by handle_level_irq() until the eventual return of the
threaded irq handler. During this time the level GPIO interrupt status
will still report as high until the actual gpio source is cleared - both
in the individual GPIO interrupt status bit (INTERRUPT_STS_OFF) and in
its corresponding "WAKE_INT_STATUS_REG" bit.
Thus, if another GPIO interrupt occurs during this time,
amd_gpio_irq_handler() will see that the (masked-and-not-yet-cleared)
level irq is still pending and incorrectly call its handler again.
To fix this, have amd_gpio_irq_handler() check for both interrupts status
and mask before calling generic_handle_irq().
Note: Is it possible that this bug was the source of the interrupt storm
on Ryzen when using chained interrupts before commit ba714a9c1d
("pinctrl/amd: Use regular interrupt instead of chained")?

Samsung pinctrl drivers changes for v4.19
1. Add handling of external wakeup interrupts mask inside the pin
controller driver.
Existing solution is spread between the driver and machine code. The
machine code writes the mask but its value is taken from pin
controller driver.
This moves everything into pin controller driver allowing later to
remove the cross-subsystem interaction. Also this is a necessary
step for implementing later Suspend to RAM on ARMv8 Exynos5433.
2. Bring necessary suspend/resume callbacks for Exynos542x and
Exynos5260.
3. Document hidden requirement about one external wakeup interrupts
device node.
4. Minor documentation cleanups.
The pinctrl driver defines an IRQ chip which handles external wakeup
interrupts, therefore from logical point of view, it is the owner of
external interrupt mask. The register controlling the mask belongs to
Power Management Unit address space so it has to be accessed with PMU
syscon regmap handle.
This mask should be written to hardware during system suspend. Till now
ARMv7 machine code was responsible for this which created a dependency
between pin controller driver and arch/arm/mach code.
Try to rework this dependency so the pinctrl driver will write external
wakeup interrupt mask during late suspend.
Impact on ARMv7 designs (S5Pv210 and Exynos)
============================================
This duplicates setting mask with existing machine code
arch/arm/mach-exynos/suspend.c and arch/arm/mach-s5pv210/pm.c but it is
not a problem - the wakeup mask register will be written twice. The
machine code will be cleaned up later.
The difference between implementation here and ARMv7 machine code
(arch/arm/mach-*) is the time of writing the mask:
1. The machine code is writing the mask quite late during system suspend
path, after offlining secondary CPUs and just before doing actual
suspend.
2. The implementation in pinctrl driver uses late suspend ops, therefore it
will write the mask much earlier. Hopefully late enough, after all
drivers will enable or disable their interrupt wakeups
(enable_irq_wake() etc).
Impact on ARMv8 designs (Exynos5433 and Exynos7)
================================================
The Suspend to RAM was not supported and external wakeup interrupt mask
was not written to HW. This change brings us one step closer to
supporting Suspend to RAM.

The datasheet does not document any registers to control drive strength,
and no drive strength registers are for this reason described for this
SoC. The flags indicating that drive strength can be controlled are
however set for some pins in the driver.
This leads to a NULL pointer dereference when the sh-pfc core tries to
access the struct describing the drive strength registers, for example
when reading the sysfs file pinconf-pins.
Fix this by removing the SH_PFC_PIN_CFG_DRIVE_STRENGTH from all pins.

Pinctrl drivers are a common dependency which can prevent a system
booting even if the default or bootloader configured settings can work.
If a pinctrl node in DT indicates that the default pin setup can be used
with the 'pinctrl-use-default' property, then only defer probe until
initcalls are done. If the deferred probe timeout is enabled or loadable
modules are disabled, then we'll stop deferring probe regardless of the
DT property. This gives platforms the option to work without their
pinctrl driver being enabled.
Dropped the pinctrl specific deferring probe message as the driver core
can print deferred probe related messages if needed.

If you do this on an sdm845 board:
grep "" /sys/kernel/debug/pinctrl/*spmi:pmic*/pinconf-groups
...it looks like nonsense. For every pin you see listed:
input bias disabled, input bias high impedance, input bias pull down, input bias pull up, ...
That's because pmic_gpio_config_get() isn't complying with the rules
that pinconf_generic_dump_one() expects. Specifically for boolean
parameters (anything with a "struct pin_config_item" where has_arg is
false) the function expects that the function should return its value
not through the "config" parameter but should return "0" if the value
is set and "-EINVAL" if the value isn't set.
Let's fix this.
From a quick sample of other pinctrl drivers, it appears to be
tradition to also return 1 through the config parameter for these
boolean parameters when they exist. I'm not one to knock tradition,
so I'll follow tradition and return 1 in these cases. While I'm at
it, I'll also continue searching for four leaf clovers, kocking on
wood three times, and trying not to break mirrors.
NOTE: This also fixes an apparent typo for reading
PIN_CONFIG_BIAS_DISABLE where the old driver was accidentally
using "=" instead of "==" and thus was setting some internal

Beyond the traditional register save/restore operations, these hooks

Apart from the usual stuff, the debugfs code is currently also used for
one non-obvious side effect. It attempts to check whether the chip's
registers are still set to an expected value, and if not, re-initializes
them. It seems that the driver has "always" done so.
The code, however, also checks the INTF register which normally
indicates which pins have caused the recent interrupt. That's a volatile
register, and the datasheet says that writes are ignored in there.
When I'm just cat-ing /sys/kernel/debug/gpio with no SPI traffic and no
nosie on the GPIO lines, I'm not getting any warnings. Once I actually
use these GPIOs and cat that file in parallel, I always seem to get a:
mcp23s08 spi1.1: restoring reg 0x07 from 0x0000 to 0xffff (power-loss?)
This might be a sign that I should not leave my unused inputs floating,
but the code should not be checking a volatile register, anyway. Let's
simply skip this last item in the iteration. I was also considering
removing this enitre re-initialization because it's non-obvious, but the
code survived various refactorings already and has sign-offs by people
who know more than I do, so let's leave it as-is. For now :).

Commit b89405b610 ("pinctrl: devicetree: Fix dt_to_map_one_config
handling of hogs") causes the pinctrl hog pins to not get initialized
on i.MX platforms leaving them with the IOMUX settings untouched.
This causes several regressions on i.MX such as:
- OV5640 camera driver can not be probed anymore on imx6qdl-sabresd
because the camera clock pin is in a pinctrl_hog group and since
its pinctrl initialization is skipped, the camera clock is kept
in GPIO functionality instead of CLK_CKO function.
- Audio stopped working on imx6qdl-wandboard and imx53-qsb for
the same reason.
Richard Fitzgerald explains the problem:
"I see the bug. If the hog node isn't a 1st level child of the pinctrl
parent node it will go around the for(;;) loop again but on the first
pass I overwrite pctldev with the result of
get_pinctrl_dev_from_of_node() so it doesn't point to the pinctrl driver
any more."
Fix the issue by stashing the original pctldev so it doesn't
get overwritten.

Pull overflow updates from Kees Cook:
"This adds the new overflow checking helpers and adds them to the
2-factor argument allocators. And this adds the saturating size
helpers and does a treewide replacement for the struct_size() usage.
Additionally this adds the overflow testing modules to make sure
everything works.
I'm still working on the treewide replacements for allocators with
"simple" multiplied arguments:
*alloc(a * b, ...) -> *alloc_array(a, b, ...)
and
*zalloc(a * b, ...) -> *calloc(a, b, ...)
as well as the more complex cases, but that's separable from this
portion of the series. I expect to have the rest sent before -rc1
closes; there are a lot of messy cases to clean up.
Summary:
- Introduce arithmetic overflow test helper functions (Rasmus)
- Use overflow helpers in 2-factor allocators (Kees, Rasmus)
- Introduce overflow test module (Rasmus, Kees)
- Introduce saturating size helper functions (Matthew, Kees)

These codecs have a variable number of I/O lines each of which
is individually selectable to a wide range of possible functions.
The functionality is slightly different from the traditional muxed
GPIO since most of the functions can be mapped to any pin (and even
the same function to multiple pins). Most pins have a dedicated
"alternate" function that is only available on that pin. The
alternate functions are usually a group of signals, though it is
not always necessary to enable the full group, depending on the
alternate function and how it is to be used. The mapping between
alternate functions and GPIO pins varies between codecs depending
on the number of alternate functions and available pins.

As Google/Intel will fix the BIOS/Coreboot issues with hardcoding
virtual interrupt numbers for keyboard/touchpad/touchscreen controllers
in ACPI tables, they will also update BOARD version number from 1.0
to 1.1. Let's limit the DMI quirks that try to preserve virtual IRQ
numbers on Strago boards to those that still carry older BIOSes.
Note that ideally not BOARD but BIOS version should have been updated.
However the BIOS version used by Chrome devices has format of
Google_BUILD.BRANCH.PATCH which is not well suited for DMI matching as
we do not have "less than" match mode for DMI data.

Sven Eckelmann reported an issue with the current IPQ4019 pinctrl.

This was also verified on a RT-AC58U (IPQ4018) which would
no longer boot, if a gpio-hog was specified. (Tried forcing
the USB LED PIN (GPIO0) to high.).
The problem is that Pinctrl+GPIO registration is currently
peformed in the following order in pinctrl-msm.c:
1. pinctrl_register()
2. gpiochip_add()
3. gpiochip_add_pin_range()
The actual error code -517 == -EPROBE_DEFER is coming from
pinctrl_get_device_gpio_range(), which is called through:
gpiochip_add
of_gpiochip_add
of_gpiochip_scan_gpios
gpiod_hog
gpiochip_request_own_desc
__gpiod_request
chip->request
gpiochip_generic_request
pinctrl_gpio_request
pinctrl_get_device_gpio_range
pinctrl_get_device_gpio_range() is unable to find any valid
pin ranges, since nothing has been added to the pinctrldev_list yet.
so the range can't be found, and the operation fails with -EPROBE_DEFER.
This patch fixes the issue by adding the "gpio-ranges" property to
the pinctrl device node of all upstream Qcom SoC. The pin ranges are
then added by the gpio core.
In order to remain compatible with older, existing DTs (and ACPI)
a check for the "gpio-ranges" property has been added to
msm_gpio_init(). This prevents the driver of adding the same entry
to the pinctrldev_list twice.

This patch is in preparation for adding EINT support to MT7622 pinctrl,
and the refactoring doesn't alter any existent logic.
A reason we have to refactor EINT code pieces into a generic way is that
currently, they're tightly coupled with a certain type of MediaTek pinctrl
would cause a grown in a very bad way as there is different types of
pinctrl devices getting to join.
Therefore, it is an essential or urgent thing that EINT code pieces are
refactored to eliminate any dependencies across GPIO and EINT as possible.
Additional structure mtk_eint_[xt, hw, regs] are being introduced for
indicating how maps being designed between GPIO and EINT hw number, how to
set and get GPIO state for a certain EINT pin, what characteristic on a
EINT device is present on various SoCs.

I was debugging some gpio issues and I thought that the output of gpio
debugfs was telling me the high or low level of the gpios with a '1' or
a '0'. We saw a line like this though:
gpio93 : in 4 2mA pull down
and I started to think that there may be a gas leak in the building
because '4' doesn't mean high or low, and other pins said '0' or '1'. It
turns out, '4' is the function selection for the pinmux of the gpio and
not the value on the pin. Reading code helps decipher what debugfs is
actually saying.
Add support to read the input or output pin depending on how the pin is
configured so we can easily see the high or low value of the pin in
debugfs. Now the output looks like
gpio93 : in low func4 2mA pull down
which clearly shows that the pin is an input, low, with function 4 and a
2mA drive strength plus a pull down.

Newer versions of the firmware for the Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies
QDF2400 restricts access to a subset of the GPIOs on the TLMM. To
prevent older kernels from accidentally accessing the restricted GPIOs,
we change the ACPI HID for the TLMM block from QCOM8001 to QCOM8002,
and introduce a new property "gpios". This property is an array of
specific GPIOs that are accessible. When an older kernel boots on
newer (restricted) firmware, it will fail to probe.
To implement the sparse GPIO map, we register all of the GPIOs, but
fill in the data only for available GPIOs. This ensures that the driver
cannot accidentally access an unavailable GPIO.
The pinctrl-msm driver also scans the "gpios" property to determine
which pins are available, and ensure that only those can be registered.
Support for QCOM8001 is removed as there is no longer any firmware that
implements it.

It turns out that the Windows GPIO driver for Sunrisepoint PCH-H uses
similar bank structure than it does for Cannon Lake with the exception
that here the bank size is always 24 pins. Starting from pad group E the
BIOS/Windows GPIO numbering does not match the hardware anymore but
instead there are gaps to make each pad group ("bank") consume exactly
24 pins. Because of this Linux does not use correct pins for
GpioIo/GpioIo resources exposed by the BIOS.
This patch aligns the GPIO number space with BIOS/Windows to make sure
the same numbering scheme is used in Linux as well following what we did
already for Intel Cannon Lake.

When we dropped the custom Linux GPIO translation it resulted that the
IRQ numbers changed slightly as well. Normally this would be fine
because everyone is expected to use controller relative GPIO numbers and
ACPI GpioIo/GpioInt resources. However, there is a certain set of
Intel_Strago based Chromebooks where i8042 keyboard controller IRQ
number is hardcoded be 182 (this is corrected with newer coreboot but
the older ones still have the hardcoded Linux IRQ number). Because of
this hardcoded IRQ number keyboard on those systems accidentally broke
again.
Fix this by iteratively associating IRQ descriptors to the chip irqdomain
so that there are no gaps on those systems. Other systems are not
affected.

This removes the entire architecture code for blackfin, cris, frv, m32r,
metag, mn10300, score, and tile, including the associated device drivers.
I have been working with the (former) maintainers for each one to ensure
that my interpretation was right and the code is definitely unused in
mainline kernels. Many had fond memories of working on the respective
ports to start with and getting them included in upstream, but also saw
no point in keeping the port alive without any users.
In the end, it seems that while the eight architectures are extremely
different, they all suffered the same fate: There was one company
in charge of an SoC line, a CPU microarchitecture and a software
ecosystem, which was more costly than licensing newer off-the-shelf
CPU cores from a third party (typically ARM, MIPS, or RISC-V). It seems
that all the SoC product lines are still around, but have not used the
custom CPU architectures for several years at this point. In contrast,
CPU instruction sets that remain popular and have actively maintained
kernel ports tend to all be used across multiple licensees.
The removal came out of a discussion that is now documented at
https://lwn.net/Articles/748074/. Unlike the original plans, I'm not
marking any ports as deprecated but remove them all at once after I made
sure that they are all unused. Some architectures (notably tile, mn10300,
and blackfin) are still being shipped in products with old kernels,
but those products will never be updated to newer kernel releases.
After this series, we still have a few architectures without mainline
gcc support:
- unicore32 and hexagon both have very outdated gcc releases, but the
maintainers promised to work on providing something newer. At least
in case of hexagon, this will only be llvm, not gcc.
- openrisc, risc-v and nds32 are still in the process of finishing their
support or getting it added to mainline gcc in the first place.
They all have patched gcc-7.3 ports that work to some degree, but
complete upstream support won't happen before gcc-8.1. Csky posted
their first kernel patch set last week, their situation will be similar.

Pul removal of obsolete architecture ports from Arnd Bergmann:
"This removes the entire architecture code for blackfin, cris, frv,
m32r, metag, mn10300, score, and tile, including the associated device
drivers.
I have been working with the (former) maintainers for each one to
ensure that my interpretation was right and the code is definitely
unused in mainline kernels. Many had fond memories of working on the
respective ports to start with and getting them included in upstream,
but also saw no point in keeping the port alive without any users.
In the end, it seems that while the eight architectures are extremely
different, they all suffered the same fate: There was one company in
charge of an SoC line, a CPU microarchitecture and a software
ecosystem, which was more costly than licensing newer off-the-shelf
CPU cores from a third party (typically ARM, MIPS, or RISC-V). It
seems that all the SoC product lines are still around, but have not
used the custom CPU architectures for several years at this point. In
contrast, CPU instruction sets that remain popular and have actively
maintained kernel ports tend to all be used across multiple licensees.

microarchitecture and a software ecosystem" - Linus ]

Some qcom platforms make some GPIOs or pins unavailable for use
by non-secure operating systems, and thus reading or writing the
registers for those pins will cause access control issues and
reset the device. With a DT/ACPI property to describe the set of
pins that are available for use, parse the available pins and set
the irq valid bits for gpiolib to know what to consider 'valid'.
This should avoid any issues with gpiolib. Furthermore, implement
the pinmux_ops::request function so that pinmux can also make
sure to not use pins that are unavailable.

The Allwinner H6 SoC has two pin controllers, one main controller
(called CPUX-PORT in user manual) and one controller in CPUs power
domain (called CPUS-PORT in user manual).
This commit introduces support for the main pin controller on H6.
The pin bank A and B are not wired out and hidden from the SoC's
documents, however it's shown that the "ATE" (an AC200 chip
co-packaged with the H6 die) is connected to the main SoC die via these
pin banks. The information about these banks is just copied from the BSP
pinctrl driver, but re-formatted to fit the mainline pinctrl driver
format. The GPIO functions are dropped, as they're impossible to use --
except a GPIO&IRQ only pin (PB20) which might be the IRQ of ATE.

In certain cases interrupt enablement will be delayed relative to when
the InterruptEnable bits are written. One example of this is when
a GPIO's "debounce" logice is first enabled. After enabling debounce,
there is a 900 us "warm up" period during which InterruptEnable[0]
(bit 11) will read as 0 despite being written 1. During this time
InterruptSts will not be updated, nor will interrupts be delivered, even
if the GPIO's interrupt configuration has been written to the register.
To work around this delay, poll the InterruptEnable bits after setting
them to ensure interrupts have truly been enabled in hardware before
returning from the irq_enable handler.

For special pins, bias-disable is set by R0R1,
so we need transmited "00" to set bias-disable

The Allwinner pinctrl device tree binding suggests that a clock named
"apb" would drive the pin controller IP. However (for legacy reasons) we
rely on this clock actually being the first clock defined.
Since named clocks can be in any order, let's explicitly check for a
clock called "apb" if there is more than one clock referenced.
