Instead of manipulating the statically allocated structure and copy
timings around, allocate one at identification time and save it in the
nand_chip structure once it has been initialized.
All NAND chips using the same interface configuration during reset and
startup, we define a helper to retrieve a single reset interface
configuration object, shared across all NAND chips.
We use a second pointer to always have a reference on the currently
applied interface configuration, which may either point to the "best
interface configuration" or to the "default reset interface
configuration".

The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo array[];
};
By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which
will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.
Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by
this change:
"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]
sizeof(flexible-array-member) triggers a warning because flexible array
members have incomplete type[1]. There are some instances of code in
which the sizeof operator is being incorrectly/erroneously applied to
zero-length arrays and the result is zero. Such instances may be hiding
some bugs. So, this work (flexible-array member conversions) will also
help to get completely rid of those sorts of issues.
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

NAND controller drivers can set the NAND_USE_BOUNCE_BUFFER flag to a
chip 'option' field. With this flag, the core is responsible of
providing DMA-able buffers.
The current behavior is to not force the use of a bounce buffer when

Rename macronix_set_4byte() to spi_nor_set_4byte_addr_mode(), it will be
the only 4 byte address mode method exposed to the manufacturer drivers.
Here's how the manufacturers enter and exit the 4 byte address mode:
- eon, gidadevice, issi, macronix, xmc use EN4B/EX4B
- micron-st needs WEN. st_micron_set_4byte_addr_mode() will become
a private method, as they are the only ones that need WEN before the
EN4B/EX4B commands.
- newer spansion have a 4BAM opcode (this translates to a new, public

core.c -> spansion_set_4byte_addr_mode())

Add SPINAND_HAS_CR_FEAT_BIT flag to identify the SPI NAND device with
the Continuous Read mode.
Some of the Micron SPI NAND devices have the "Continuous Read" feature
enabled by default, which does not fit the subsystem needs.
In this mode, the READ CACHE command doesn't require the starting column
address. The device always output the data starting from the first
column of the cache register, and once the end of the cache register
reached, the data output continues through the next page. With the
continuous read mode, it is possible to read out the entire block using
a single READ command, and once the end of the block reached, the output
pins become High-Z state. However, during this mode the read command
doesn't output the OOB area.
Hence, we disable the feature at probe time.

Instead of collecting partitions in a flat list, create a hierarchy
within the mtd_info structure: use a partitions list to keep track of
the partitions of an MTD device (which might be itself a partition of
another MTD device), a pointer to the parent device (NULL when the MTD
device is the root one, not a partition).
By also saving directly in mtd_info the offset of the partition, we
can get rid of the mtd_part structure.
While at it, be consistent in the naming of the mtd_info structures to
ease the understanding of the new hierarchy: these structures are
usually called 'mtd', unless there are multiple instances of the same
structure. In this case, there is usually a parent/child bound so we
will call them 'parent' and 'child'.

Currently there are 3 different variants of read_id implementation:
1. opcode only. Found in GD5FxGQ4xF.
2. opcode + 1 addr byte. Found in GD5GxGQ4xA/E
3. opcode + 1 dummy byte. Found in other currently supported chips.
Original implementation was for variant 1 and let detect function
of chips with variant 2 and 3 to ignore the first byte. This isn't
robust:
1. For chips of variant 2, if SPI master doesn't keep MOSI low
during read, chip will get a random id offset, and the entire id
buffer will shift by that offset, causing detect failure.
2. For chips of variant 1, if it happens to get a devid that equals
to manufacture id of variant 2 or 3 chips, it'll get incorrectly
detected.
This patch reworks detect procedure to address problems above. New
logic do detection for all variants separatedly, in 1-2-3 order.
Since all current detect methods do exactly the same id matching
procedure, unify them into core.c and remove detect method from
manufacture_ops.

Use top/bottom bit variable instead of fixed value and support this case.
Set the Top/Bottom (TB) mask based on SPI_NOR_TB_SR_BIT6 flash_info flag.
We can't use a bigger granularity, for example to set TB_BIT6 per
manufacturer using a SNOR_F flag. The manufacturers don't have a common
rule in regards to the TB bit:
Winbond : Use the 6th bit from 32MB capacity
W25Q20EW, W25Q50BW, W25Q128V - TB(5)
W25Q256JV, W25M512JV - TB(6)
GigaDevice : Use the 6th bit from 32MB capacity
GD25Q16C, GD25Q32C, GD25LQ32D, GD25Q64C, GD25Q128 - TB(5)
GD25Q256 - TB(6)
Micron/STM : Keep to use 5th bit
M25PX64, N25Q128A, N25Q512A, MT25QL512ABB, MT25QL02GCBB - TB(5)
Spansion : Use the 6th bit from 16MB capacity
S25FL116K, S25FL132K, S25FL165K - TB(5)
S25FL128L, S25FL256L - TB(6)
We can't make a correlation between TB and BP3 either, i.e. assume that if
BP3 is defined then TB will be at BIT(6). Micron breaks this rule.

spi_nor_unlock() unlocks blocks of memory or the entire flash memory
array, if requested. clear_sr_bp() unlocks the entire flash memory
array at boot time. This calls for some unification, clear_sr_bp() is
just an optimization for the case when the unlock request covers the
entire flash size.
Get rid of clear_sr_bp() and introduce spi_nor_unlock_all(), which is
just a call to spi_nor_unlock() for the entire flash memory array.
This fixes a bug that was present in spi_nor_spansion_clear_sr_bp().
When the QE bit was zero, we used the Write Status (01h) command with
one data byte, which might cleared the Status Register 2. We now always
use the Write Status (01h) command with two data bytes when
SNOR_F_HAS_16BIT_SR is set, to avoid clearing the Status Register 2.
The SNOR_F_NO_READ_CR case is treated as well. When the flash doesn't
support the CR Read command, we make an assumption about the value of
the QE bit. In spi_nor_init(), call spi_nor_quad_enable() first, then
spi_nor_unlock_all(), so that at the spi_nor_unlock_all() time we can
be sure the QE bit has value one, because of the previous call to
spi_nor_quad_enable().
Get rid of the MFR handling and implement specific manufacturer
default_init() fixup hooks.
Note that this changes a bit the logic for the SNOR_MFR_ATMEL,
SNOR_MFR_INTEL and SNOR_MFR_SST cases. Before this patch, the Atmel,
Intel and SST chips did not set the locking ops, but unlocked the entire
flash at boot time, while now they are setting the locking ops to
stm_locking_ops. This should work, since the disable of the block
protection at the boot time used the same Status Register bits to unlock
the flash, as in the stm_locking_ops case.

JESD216 revB or later offers information about the *default* Status
Register commands to use (see BFPT DWORDS[15], bits 22:20). In this
standard, Status Register 1 refers to the first data byte transferred on a
Read Status (05h) or Write Status (01h) command. Status register 2 refers
to the byte read using instruction 35h. Status register 2 is the second
byte transferred in a Write Status (01h) command.
Industry naming and definitions of these Status Registers may differ.
The definitions are described in JESD216B, BFPT DWORDS[15], bits 22:20.
There are cases in which writing only one byte to the Status Register 1
has the side-effect of clearing Status Register 2 and implicitly the Quad
Enable bit. This side-effect is hit just by the
BFPT_DWORD15_QER_SR2_BIT1_BUGGY and BFPT_DWORD15_QER_SR2_BIT1 cases.

Currently, we don't have vfs nodes for querying the underlying flash name
and flash id. This information is important especially when we want to
know the flash detail of the defective system. In order to support the
query, we add mtd_debugfs_populate() to create two debugfs nodes
(ie. partname and partid). The upper driver can assign the pointer to
partname and partid before calling mtd_device_register().

from 'struct spi_nor' to 'struct spi_nor_flash_parameter'.
Please note that there is a roll-back mechanism for the flash
parameter and settings, for cases when SFDP parser fails. The SFDP
parser receives a Stack allocated copy of nor->params, called
sfdp_params, and uses it to retrieve the serial flash discoverable
parameters. JESD216 SFDP is a standard and has a higher priority
than the default initialized flash parameters, so will overwrite the
sfdp_params data when needed. All SFDP code uses the local copy of
nor->params, that will overwrite it in the end, if the parser succeds.
Saving and restoring the nor->params.erase_map is no longer needed,

The m25p80 driver is actually a generic wrapper around the spi-mem
layer. Not only the driver name is misleading, but we'd expect such a
common logic to be directly available in the core. Another reason for
moving this code is that SPI NOR controller drivers should
progressively be replaced by SPI controller drivers implementing the
spi_mem_ops interface, and when the conversion is done, we should have
a single spi-nor driver directly interfacing with the spi-mem layer.
While moving the code we also fix a longstanding issue when
non-DMA-able buffers are passed by the MTD layer.

spi-mem layer expects all buffers passed to it to be DMA'able. But
spi-nor layer mostly allocates buffers on stack for reading/writing to
registers and therefore are not DMA'able. Introduce bounce buffer to be
used to read/write to registers. This ensures that buffer passed to
spi-mem layer during register read/writes is DMA'able. With this change
nor->cmd-buf is no longer used, so drop it.

Cypress' HyperBus is Low Signal Count, High Performance Double Data Rate
Bus interface between a host system master and one or more slave
interfaces. HyperBus is used to connect microprocessor, microcontroller,
or ASIC devices with random access NOR flash memory (called HyperFlash)
or self refresh DRAM (called HyperRAM).
Its a 8-bit data bus (DQ[7:0]) with Read-Write Data Strobe (RWDS)
signal and either Single-ended clock(3.0V parts) or Differential clock
(1.8V parts). It uses ChipSelect lines to select b/w multiple slaves.
At bus level, it follows a separate protocol described in HyperBus
specification[1].
HyperFlash follows CFI AMD/Fujitsu Extended Command Set (0x0002) similar
to that of existing parallel NORs. Since HyperBus is x8 DDR bus,
its equivalent to x16 parallel NOR flash with respect to bits per clock
cycle. But HyperBus operates at >166MHz frequencies.
HyperRAM provides direct random read/write access to flash memory
array.
But, HyperBus memory controllers seem to abstract implementation details
and expose a simple MMIO interface to access connected flash.
Add support for registering HyperFlash devices with MTD framework. MTD
maps framework along with CFI chip support framework are used to support
communicating with flash.
Framework is modelled along the lines of spi-nor framework. HyperBus
memory controller (HBMC) drivers calls hyperbus_register_device() to
register a single HyperFlash device. HyperFlash core parses MMIO access
information from DT, sets up the map_info struct, probes CFI flash and
registers it with MTD framework.
Some HBMC masters need calibration/training sequence[3] to be carried
out, in order for DLL inside the controller to lock, by reading a known
string/pattern. This is done by repeatedly reading CFI Query
Identification String. Calibration needs to be done before trying to detect
flash as part of CFI flash probe.
HyperRAM is not supported at the moment.

HyperFlash devices are compliant with CFI AMD/Fujitsu Extended Command
Set (0x0002) for flash operations, therefore
drivers/mtd/chips/cfi_cmdset_0002.c can be used as is. But these devices
do not support DQ polling method of determining chip ready/good status.
These flashes provide Status Register whose bits can be polled to know
status of flash operation.
Cypress HyperFlash datasheet here[1], talks about CFI Amd/Fujitsu
Extended Query version 1.5. Bit 0 of "Software Features supported" field
of CFI Primary Vendor-Specific Extended Query table indicates
presence/absence of status register and Bit 1 indicates whether or not
DQ polling is supported. Using these bits, its possible to determine
whether flash supports DQ polling or need to use Status Register.
Add support for polling Status Register to know device ready/status of
erase/write operations when DQ polling is not supported.
Print error messages on erase/program failure by looking at related
Status Register bits.

To be able to check and set bad block markers in the first and
second page of a block independently of each other, we create
separate flags for both cases.
Previously NAND_BBM_SECONDPAGE meant, that both, the first and the
second page were used. With this patch NAND_BBM_FIRSTPAGE stands for
using the first page and NAND_BBM_SECONDPAGE for using the second
page.
This patch is only for preparation of subsequent changes and does
not implement the logic to actually handle both flags separately.

nand_get_device() was complex for apparently no good reason. Let's
replace this locking scheme with 2 mutexes: one attached to the
controller and another one attached to the chip.
Every time the core calls nand_get_device(), it will first lock the
chip and if the chip is not suspended, will then lock the controller.
nand_release_device() will release both lock in the reverse order.
nand_get_device() can sleep, just like the previous implementation,
which means you should never call that from an atomic context.
We also get rid of
- the chip->state field, since all it was used for was flagging the
chip as suspended. We replace it by a field called chip->suspended
and directly set it from nand_suspend/resume()
- the controller->wq and controller->active fields which are no longer
needed since the new controller->lock (now a mutex) guarantees that
all operations are serialized at the controller level
- panic_nand_get_device() which would anyway be a no-op. Talking about
panic write, I keep thinking the rawnand implementation is unsafe
because there's not negotiation with the controller to know when it's
actually done with it's previous operation. I don't intend to fix
that here, but that's probably something we should look at, or maybe
we should consider dropping the ->_panic_write() implementation
Last important change to mention: we now return -EBUSY when someone
tries to access a device that as been suspended, and propagate this
error to the upper layer.

- Ams-delta:
* Fixing the error path
* SPDX tag added
* May be compiled with COMPILE_TEST=y
* Conversion to ->exec_op() interface
* Dropping .IOADDR_R/W use
* Use GPIO API for data I/O

- Various trivial/spelling/coding style fixes.
SPI-NAND drivers changes:
- Removing the depreacated mt29f_spinand driver from staging.
- Adding support for:
* Toshiba TC58CVG2S0H
* GigaDevice GD5FxGQ4xA
* Winbond W25N01GV
Add support for SFDP (JESD216B) 4-byte Address Instruction Table. This
table is optional but when available, we parse it to get the 4-byte
address op codes supported by the memory.
Using these op codes is stateless as opposed to entering the 4-byte
address mode or setting the Base Address Register (BAR).
Flashes that have the 4BAIT table declared can now support
SPINOR_OP_PP_1_1_4_4B and SPINOR_OP_PP_1_4_4_4B opcodes.
Tested on MX25L25673G.

Add SPDX tags to replace the license boiler-plate and fix the
MODULE_LICENSE() definition in spi-nor.c to match the license text
(GPL v2).
Interestingly, spi-nor.h and spi-nor.c do not use the same license
(GPL v2+ for spi-nor.h, GPL v2 for spi-nor.c).

Some flash_info entries have the SPI_NOR_4B_OPCODES flag set to let the
core know that the flash supports 4B opcode. While this solution works
fine for id-based caps detection, it doesn't work that well when relying
on SFDP-based caps detection. Let's add an SNOR_F_4B_OPCODES flag so
that the SFDP parsing code can set it when appropriate.

We try to force NAND controller drivers to properly separate the NAND
controller object from the NAND chip one, so let's deprecate the dummy
controller object embedded in nand_chip to encourage them to create
their own instance.

->setup_data_interface() is a controller specific method and should
thus be placed in nand_controller_ops.
In order to make that work with controllers that support keeping
pre-configured timings we need to add a new NAND_KEEP_TIMINGS flag to
inform the core it should skip the timings selection step.

->exec_op() is a controller method and has nothing to do in the
nand_chip struct. Let's move it to the nand_controller_ops struct and
adjust the core and drivers accordingly.

Now that the CS line to be selected is passed to ->exec_op() and
stored in chip->cur_cs and after patching all drivers implementing
->exec_op() to stop implementing this method, we can deprecate it by
moving it to the nand_legacy structure.

In order to deprecate the ->select_chip hook we need to pass the CS
line a NAND operations are targeting. This is done through the
addition of a cs field to the nand_operation struct.
We also need to keep track of the currently selected target to
properly initialize op->cs, hence the ->cur_cs field addition to the
nand_chip struct.
Note that op->cs is not assigned in nand_exec_op() because we might
rework the way we execute NAND operations in the future (adopt a
queuing mechanism instead of the serialization we have right now).

When allocating a new partition mtd subsystem runs internal tests in the
allocate_partition(). They may result in modifying specified flags (e.g.
dropping some /features/ like write access).
Those constraints don't have to be necessary true for subpartitions. It
may happen parent partition isn't block aligned (effectively disabling
write access) while subpartition may fit blocks nicely. In such case all
checks should be run again (starting with original flags value).
