Jiri Slaby a9bd87c232 [media] MEDIA: ttusbir, fix double free
rc_unregister_device already calls rc_free_device to free the passed
device. But in one of ttusbir's probe fail paths, we call
rc_unregister_device _and_ rc_free_device. This is wrong and results
in a double free.
Instead, set rc to NULL resulting in rc_free_device being a noop.

David Härdeman 9719afae5e [media] rc-core: don't treat dev->rc_map.rc_type as a bitmap
store_protocols() treats dev->rc_map.rc_type as a bitmap which is wrong for
two reasons. First of all, it is pretty bogus to change the protocol type of
the keymap just because the hardware has been asked to decode a different
protocol.
Second, dev->rc_map.rc_type is an enum (i.e. a single protocol) as pointed
out by James Hogan <james.hogan@imgtec.com>.
Fix both issues by introducing a separate enabled_protocols member to
struct rc_dev.

Some imon devices (like 15c2:0036) need a higher delay between

hardware.

Dmitry Torokhov bf30690029 [media] Media: remove incorrect __init/__exit markups
Even if bus is not hot-pluggable, the devices can be unbound from the
driver via sysfs, so we should not be using __exit annotations on
remove() methods. The only exception is drivers registered with
platform_driver_probe() which specifically disables sysfs bind/unbind
attributes.
Similarly probe() methods should not be marked __init unless
platform_driver_probe() is used.

This patch adds device tree parsing for gpio_ir_recv platform_data and

Tony Lindgren a62a6e98c3 ARM: OMAP2+: Disable code that currently does not work with multiplaform
We still need to fix up few places for multiplatform support,
but that can proceed separately. Fix the issue by making the
problem drivers depends !ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM for now.

The remaining pieces that are not multiplatform compatible
for omap2+ SoCs are:

1. Some drivers are using custom omap_dm_timer calls

There are two drivers that are directly usign omap hardware
timers for PWM and DSP clocking: drivers/media/rc/ir-rx51.c and
drivers/staging/tidspbridge/core/dsp-clock.c. These can be
fixed for multiplatform by allowing a minimal set of hardware
timers to be accessed, and for some functionality by using the
hrtimer framework.

2. Hardware OMAP4_ERRATA_I688 needs to be fixed up

This can't be enabled for multiplatform configurations in
it's current form. It may be possible to fix it up to do
instruction replacement early on during init. Luckily it
looks like this errata does not seem to get hit with
mainline kernel code alone at least currently.

3. Legacy header needed for omap-sham.c

Looks like it still needs mach/irqs.h for omap1 that
does not exist for multiplatform systems. Just ifdef
it for now.

4. Mailbox is waiting to get moved to drivers

Disable it for now to avoid adding a dependency to the
mailbox patches.

Matthijs Kooijman 9fa35204dd [media] rc: Call rc_register_device before irq setup
This should fix a potential race condition, when the irq handler
triggers while rc_register_device is still setting up the rdev->raw
device.
This crash has not been observed in practice, but there should be a very
small window where it could occur. Since ir_raw_event_store_with_filter
checks if rdev->raw is not NULL before using it, this bug is not
triggered if the request_irq triggers a pending irq directly (since
rdev->raw will still be NULL then).

Matthijs Kooijman d62b681847 [media] rc: Set rdev before irq setup
This fixes a problem in fintek-cir and nuvoton-cir where the
irq handler would trigger during module load before the rdev member was
set, causing a NULL pointer crash.
It seems this crash is very reproducible (just bombard the receiver with
IR signals during module load), probably because when request_irq is
called, any pending intterupt is handled immediately, before
request_irq returns and rdev can be set.
This same crash was supposed to be fixed by commit
9ef449c6b3 ("[media] rc: Postpone ISR

driver.

Matthijs Kooijman 70ef69915b [media] rc: Make probe cleanup goto labels more verbose
Before, labels were simply numbered. Now, the labels are named after the
cleanup action they'll perform (first), based on how the winbond-cir
driver does it. This makes the code a bit more clear and makes changes
in the ordering of labels easier to review.
This change is applied only to the rc drivers that do significant
cleanup in their probe functions: ati-remote, ene-ir, fintek-cir,
gpio-ir-recv, ite-cir, nuvoton-cir.
This commit should not change any code, it just renames goto labels.

Jesper Juhl e5d85b9ac3 [media] rc: Fix double free in gpio_ir_recv_probe()
At the 'err_request_irq' label, rc_unregister_device(rcdev) frees its
argument. So when we fall through to the 'err_gpio_request' label
further down and call rc_free_device(rcdev) then that's a double free.
Fix that by moving 'rcdev = NULL' from after the call to
rc_free_device() to after rc_unregister_device(). That fixes the
problem since rc_free_device() just does nothing if passed NULL and
there's no further use of 'rcdev' after the call to rc_free_device()
so it's not needed there.

Matthijs Kooijman 56411c0f1e [media] ene-ir: Fix cleanup on probe failure
This makes the cleanup on probe failure more consistent with other
drivers. This is similar to what commit
f27b853ea2 ("[media] rc: Fix invalid
free_region and/or free_irq on probe failure") did for some other
drivers.
In addition to making the cleanup more consistent, this also fixes a
case where (on a ene_hw_detect failure) free_region would be called on a
region that was not requested yet.
This last problem was probably introduced by the moving of code in
commit b31b021988 ("[media] ene_ir: Fix
driver initialisation") and commit
9ef449c6b3 ("[media] rc: Postpone ISR

David Härdeman c003ab1bed [media] rc-core: add separate defines for protocol bitmaps and numbers
The RC_TYPE_* defines are currently used both where a single protocol is
expected and where a bitmap of protocols is expected.

Functions like rc_keydown() and functions which add/remove entries to the
keytable want a single protocol. Future userspace APIs would also
benefit from numeric protocols (rather than bitmap ones). Keytables are
smaller if they can use a small(ish) integer rather than a bitmap.

Other functions or struct members (e.g. allowed_protos,
enabled_protocols, etc) accept multiple protocols and need a bitmap.

Using different types reduces the risk of programmer error. Using a
protocol enum whereever possible also makes for a more future-proof
user-space API as we don't need to worry about a sufficient number of
bits being available (e.g. in structs used for ioctl() calls).

The use of both a number and a corresponding bit is dalso one in e.g.
the input subsystem as well (see all the references to set/clear bit when
changing keytables for example).

This patch separate the different usages in preparation for
upcoming patches.

Where a single protocol is expected, enum rc_type is used; where one or more
protocol(s) are expected, something like u64 is used.

The patch has been rewritten so that the format of the sysfs "protocols"
file is no longer altered (at the loss of some detail). The file itself
should probably be deprecated in the future though.

David Härdeman f8e00d5fa8 [media] rc-core: move timeout and checks to lirc
The lirc TX functionality expects the process which writes (TX) data to
the lirc dev to sleep until the actual data has been transmitted by the
hardware.

Since the same timeout calculation is duplicated in more than one driver
(and would have to be duplicated in even more drivers as they gain TX
support), it makes sense to move this timeout calculation to the lirc
layer instead.

At the same time, centralize some of the sanity checks.

This is the driver for the IR transmitter diode found on the Nokia

The following modifications have been made compared to the original
driver version:

- Adopt to the changes that has happen in the kernel during the past
five years, such as the change in the include paths

- The OMAP DM-timers require much more care nowadays. The timers need
to be enabled and disabled or otherwise many actions fail. Timers
must not be freed without first stopping them or otherwise the timer
  cannot be requested again.

The code has been tested with sending IR codes with N900 device
running Debian userland. The device receiving the codes was Anysee

Douglas Bagnall 720bb6436f [media] Avoid sysfs oops when an rc_dev's raw device is absent
For some reason, when the lirc daemon learns that a usb remote control
has been unplugged, it wants to read the sysfs attributes of the
disappearing device. This is useful for uncovering transient
inconsistencies, but less so for keeping the system running when such
inconsistencies exist.

Under some circumstances (like every time I unplug my dvb stick from
my laptop), lirc catches an rc_dev whose raw event handler has been
removed (presumably by ir_raw_event_unregister), and proceeds to
interrogate the raw protocols supported by the NULL pointer.

This patch avoids the NULL dereference, and ignores the issue of how
this state of affairs came about in the first place.

Version 2 incorporates changes recommended by Mauro Carvalho Chehab
(-ENODEV instead of -EINVAL, and a signed-off-by).

Anssi Hannula be1027cc0f [media] ati_remote: add regular up/down buttons to Medion Digitainer keymap
There are many different Medion X10 remotes that need slightly different
keymaps. We may not yet have all the needed keymaps, in which case a
wrong keymap may be used. This happened with Medion X10 OR2x remotes
before the keymap for them was added, causing the ati_remote driver to
select the Medion Digitainer keymap instead. Unfortunately, the Medion
Digitainer keymap doesn't have the standard X10 up/down scancodes
assigned to KEY_UP and KEY_DOWN keycodes, making wrongly assigned
remotes mostly unusable.

Add the regular KEY_UP and KEY_DOWN scancodes to the Medion X10
Digitainer keymap, making any Medion remote mostly usable even when
wrongly used with that keymap (standard buttons, such as
up/down/left/right, 0-9, play/stop/pause, have the same scancode in all
the X10 remotes).

Anssi Hannula 9d454d48eb [media] ati_remote: add support for Medion X10 Digitainer remote
Add support for another Medion X10 remote. This was apparently
originally used with the Medion Digitainer box, but is now sold
separately without any Digitainer labeling.

A peculiarity of this remote is a scrollwheel in place of up/down
buttons. Each direction is mapped to 8 different scancodes, each
corresponding to 1..8 notches, allowing multiple notches to the same
direction to be transmitted in a single scancode. The driver transforms
the multi-notch scancodes to multiple events of the single-notch
scancode.
(0x70..0x77 = 1..8 notches down, 0x78..0x7f = 1..8 notches up)

Since the scrollwheel scancodes are the same that are used for mouse on
some other X10 (ati_remote) remotes, the driver will now check whether
the active keymap has a keycode defined for the single-notch scancode
when a mouse/scrollwheel scancode (0x70..0x7f) is received. If set,
scrollwheel is assumed, otherwise mouse is assumed.

This remote ships with a different receiver than the already supported
Medion X10 remote, but they share the same USB ID. The only difference
in the USB descriptors is that the Digitainer receiver has the Remote
Wakeup bit set in bmAttributes of the Configuration Descriptor.
Therefore that is used to select the default keymap.

Thanks to Stephan Raue from OpenELEC (www.openelec.tv) for providing me
both a Medion X10 Digitainer remote+receiver and an already supported
Medion X10 remote+receiver. Thanks to Martin Beyss for providing some
useful information about the remote (including the "Digitainer" name).

Srinivas Kandagatla 004ac38859 [media] [3.3.0] ir-raw: remove BUG_ON in ir_raw_event_thread
This patch removes BUG_ON in ir_raw_event_thread which IMO is a
over-kill, and this kills the ir_raw_event_thread too. With a bit of
additional logic in this patch, we nomore need to kill this thread.
Other disadvantage of having a BUG-ON is,
wake_up_process(dev->raw->thread) called on dead thread via
ir_raw_event_handle will result in total lockup in SMP system.

Advantage of this patch is ir-raw event thread is left in a usable state
even if the fifo does not have enough bytes.

We use a static boolean variable, to ensure decoders modules
are only loaded once.

Dan Carpenter 955b44304a [media] gpio-ir-recv: a couple signedness bugs
There are couple places where we check unsigned values for negative. I
changed ->gpin_nr to signed because in gpio_ir_recv_probe() we do:
        if (pdata->gpio_nr < 0)
                return -EINVAL;
I also change gval to a signed int in gpio_ir_recv_irq() because that's
the type that gpio_get_value_cansleep() returns and we test for negative
returns.

James Hogan ec9ee8e2dd [media] media: ir-sony-decoder: 15bit function decode fix
The raw Sony IR decoder decodes 15bit messages slightly incorrectly.
To decode the function number, it shifts the bits right by 7 so that the
function is in bits 7:1, masks with 0xFD (0b11111101), and does an 8 bit
reverse so it ends up in bits 6:0. The mask should be 0xFE to correspond
with bits 7:1 (0b11111110).

The old mask had the effect of dropping the MSB of the function number
from bit 6, and leaving the LSB of the device number in bit 7.

James Hogan df1caa587a [media] rc/ir-raw: use kfifo_rec_ptr_1 instead of kfifo
Raw IR events are passed to the raw event thread through a kfifo. The
size of the event struct is 12 bytes, and space for 512 events is
reserved in the kfifo (6144 bytes), however this is rounded down to 4096
bytes (the next power of 2) by __kfifo_alloc().

4096 bytes is not divisible by 12 therefore if the fifo fills up a third
of a record will be written in the end of the kfifo by
ir_raw_event_store() because the recsize of the fifo is 0 (it doesn't
have records). When this is read by ir_raw_event_thread() a corrupted or
partial record will be read, and in the case of a partial record the
BUG_ON(retval != sizeof(ev)) gets hit too.

According to samples/kfifo/record-example.c struct kfifo_rec_ptr_1 can
handle records of a length between 0 and 255 bytes, so change struct
ir_raw_event_ctrl to use that instead of struct kfifo.

Jarod Wilson 8791d63af0 [media] imon: don't wedge hardware after early callbacks
This patch is just a minor update to one titled "imon: Input from ffdc
device type ignored" from Corinna Vinschen. An earlier patch to prevent
an oops when we got early callbacks also has the nasty side-effect of
wedging imon hardware, as we don't acknowledge the urb. Rework the check
slightly here to bypass processing the packet, as the driver isn't yet
fully initialized, but still acknowlege the urb and submit a new rx_urb.
Do this for both interfaces -- irrelevant for ffdc hardware, but
relevant for newer hardware, though newer hardware doesn't spew the
constant stream of data as soon as the hardware is initialized like the
older ffdc devices, so they'd be less likely to trigger this anyway...

Tested with both an ffdc device and an 0042 device.

Anssi Hannula 5eefb4f09b [media] ati_remote: switch to single-byte scancodes
The ati_remote driver currently uses 2-byte scancodes. However, one of
those bytes is actually a checksum and therefore shouldn't be considered
as part of the scancode.

Fix the driver to only use the actual data byte as a scancode and to
check the checksum itself. Update the bundled keymaps accordingly.

Since ati_remote was only migrated to the rc subsystem for 3.2, the
previous scancodes weren't emitted on any stable kernel.

Jarod Wilson 6f6b90c923 [media] imon: don't parse scancodes until intf configured
The imon devices have either 1 or 2 usb interfaces on them, each wired
up to its own urb callback. The interface 0 urb callback is wired up
before the imon context's rc_dev pointer is filled in, which is
necessary for imon 0xffdc device auto-detection to work properly, but we
need to make sure we don't actually run the callback routines until
we've entirely filled in the necessary bits for each given interface,
lest we wind up oopsing. Technically, any imon device could have hit
this, but the issue is exacerbated on the 0xffdc devices, which send a
constant stream of interrupts, even when they have no valid key data.

Jarod Wilson de4ed0c111 [media] nuvoton-cir: simplify raw IR sample handling
The nuvoton-cir driver was storing up consecutive pulse-pulse and
space-space samples internally, for no good reason, since
ir_raw_event_store_with_filter() already merges back to back like
samples types for us. This should also fix a regression introduced late
in 3.0 that related to a timeout change, which actually becomes correct
when coupled with this change. Tested with RC6 and RC5 on my own
nuvoton-cir hardware atop vanilla 3.0.0, after verifying quirky
behavior in 3.0 due to the timeout change.

Jarod Wilson e217fb43c4 [media] mceusb: report actual tx frequencies
Rather than dumping out hex values, lets print the actual calculated
frequency and period the hardware has been configured for. After this

[ 2643.276215] mceusb 3-1:1.0: tx data: 9f 07 (length=2)
[ 2643.276218] mceusb 3-1:1.0: Get carrier mode and freq
[ 2643.277206] mceusb 3-1:1.0: rx data: 9f 06 01 42 (length=4)
[ 2643.277209] mceusb 3-1:1.0: Got carrier of 37037 Hz (period 27us)

Matches up perfectly with the table in Microsoft's docs.

Of course, I've noticed on one of my devices that the MS-recommended
default value of 1 for carrier pre-scaler and 66 for carrier period was
butchered, and instead of converting 66 to hex (0x42 like above), they
put in 0x66, so the hardware reports a default carrier of 24390Hz.
Fortunately, I guess, this particular device is rx-only, but I wouldn't
put it past other hw to screw up here too.

According to the specs, you can read the number of tx ports, number of

correctly, but only one of eight reports cabled tx ports correctly. So

Jarod Wilson ab1072eba9 [media] mceusb: query device for firmware emulator version
Supposedly, there are essentially three different classes of devices
that are compatible with Microsoft's specs. First are the "legacy"
devices, which are built using Microsoft-provided hardware specs and
firmware. Second are "emulator" devices, which are built using custom
hardware and firmware, written to emulate Microsoft's firmware. Third
are "port" devices, which have their own device driver and firmware,
which provides compatible data to higher levels of the stack.

>From what I can tell, things like nuvoton-cir and fintek-cir are
essentially "port" devices -- their raw IR buffer format is very similar
to that of the mceusb devices. Now, within the mceusb driver, we have
three different "generations", which at first, seemed like maybe they
mapped to emulator versions. Unfortuantely, every single device I have
responds "illegal command" to the query to get firmware emulator version
from the hardware, which means they're either all emulator version 1, or
they're legacy devices, and our different "generations" aren't at all
related here. Though in theory, its possible the gen1 devices are
"legacy" devices and the rest are emulator v1. There are some useful
features of the v2 interface I was hoping to play with, but alas...

Jarod Wilson c53f9f00e5 [media] redrat3: improve compat with lirc userspace decode
This is admittedly a bit of a hack, but if we change our timeout value
to something longer and fudge our synthesized trailing space sample
based on the initial pulse sample, rc-core decode continues to work just
fine with both rc-6 and rc-5, and now lirc userspace decode shows proper
repeats for both of those protocols as well. Also tested NEC
successfully with both decode options.

We do still need a reset timer callback using the hardware's timeout
value to make sure we actually process samples correctly, regardless of
our somewhat hacky timeout and synthesized trailer above.

This also adds a missing del_timer_sync call to the module unload path.

Jarod Wilson f5f2cc646a [media] rc-core support for Microsoft IR keyboard/mouse
This is a custom IR protocol decoder, for the RC-6-ish protocol used by
the Microsoft Remote Keyboard, apparently developed internally at
Microsoft, and officially dubbed MCIR-2, per their March 2011 remote and
transceiver requirements and specifications document, which also touches
on this IR keyboard/mouse device.

Its a standard keyboard with embedded thumb stick mouse pointer and
mouse buttons, along with a number of media keys. The media keys are
standard RC-6, identical to the signals from the stock MCE remotes, and
will be handled as such. The keyboard and mouse signals will be decoded
and delivered to the system by an input device registered specifically
by this driver.

Successfully tested with multiple mceusb-driven transceivers, as well as
with fintek-cir and redrat3 hardware. Essentially, any raw IR hardware
with enough sampling resolution should be able to use this decoder,
nothing about it is at all receiver-hardware-specific.

This work is inspired by lirc_mod_mce:

The documentation there and code aided in understanding and decoding the
protocol, but the bulk of the code is actually borrowed more from the
existing in-kernel decoders than anything. I did recycle the keyboard
keycode table, a few defines, and some of the keyboard and mouse data
parsing bits from lirc_mod_mce though.

Special thanks to James Meyer for providing the hardware, and being
patient with me as I took forever to get around to writing this.

Jarod Wilson 98c32bcded [media] rc: call input_sync after scancode reports
Due to commit cdda911c34, evdev only
becomes readable when the buffer contains an EV_SYN/SYN_REPORT event. If
we get a repeat or a scancode we don't have a mapping for, we never call
input_sync, and thus those events don't get reported in a timely
fashion.

For example, take an mceusb transceiver with a default rc6 keymap. Press
buttons on an rc5 remote while monitoring with ir-keytable, and you'll
see nothing. Now press a button on the rc6 remote matching the keymap.
You'll suddenly get the rc5 key scancodes, the rc6 scancode and the rc6
key spit out all at the same time.

Pressing and holding a button on a remote we do have a keymap for also
works rather unreliably right now, due to repeat events also happening
without a call to input_sync (we bail from ir_do_keydown before getting
to the point where it calls input_sync).

Easy fix though, just add two strategically placed input_sync calls
right after our input_event calls for EV_MSC, and all is well again.
Technically, we probably should have been doing this all along, its just
that it never caused any functional difference until the referenced
change went into the input layer.

input_sync once per IR signal. There was another hidden bug in the code
where we were calling input_report_key using last_keycode instead of our
just discovered keycode, which manifested with the reordering of calling
input_report_key and setting last_keycode.

With hardware that has to use ir_raw_event_store_edge to collect IR

IR_MAX_DURATION had passed. That's around 4 seconds. So if someone

Jarod Wilson 35d136c8da [media] ite-cir: 8709 needs to use pnp resource 2
Thanks to the intrepid testing and debugging of Matthijs van Drunen, it
was uncovered that at least some variants of the ITE8709 need to use pnp
resource 2, rather than 0, for things to function properly. Resource 0
has a length of only 1, and if you try to bypass the pnp_port_len check
and use it anyway (with either a length of 1 or 2), the system in
question's trackpad ceased to function.

The circa lirc 0.8.7 lirc_ite8709 driver used resource 2, but the value
was (amusingly) changed to 0 by way of a patch from ITE themselves, so I
don't know if there may be variants where 0 actually *is* correct, but
at least in this case and in the original lirc_ite8709 driver author's
case, it sure looks like 2 is the right value.

This fix should probably be applied to all stable kernels with the
ite-cir driver, lest we nuke more people's trackpads.

the calls was entirely superfluous. Ergo, remove them all, and rename
the one and only (questionably) useful one to reflect what it really
does. Verified on both gen2 and gen3 hardware to make zero difference.
Well, except that you no longer get a bunch of urb submit failures from
the unneeded mce_sync_in calls. Oh. And move that flush to a point
*after* we've wired up the inbound urb, or it won't do squat. I have
half a mind to just remove it entirely, but someone thought it was
necessary at some point, and it doesn't seem to hurt, so lets leave it
for the time being.

This excercise took place due to insightful questions asked by Hans

Jarod Wilson 9bdc79ea07 [media] fintek-cir: new driver for Fintek LPC SuperIO CIR function
This is a new driver for the Fintek LPC SuperIO CIR function, in the
Fintek F71809 chip. Hardware and datasheets were provided by Fintek, so
thanks go to them for supporting this effort.

This driver started out as a copy of the nuvoton-cir driver, and was
then modified as needed for the Fintek chip. The two share many
similaries, though the buffer handling for the Fintek chip is actually
nearly identical to the mceusb buffer handling, so the parser routine is
almost a drop-in copy of the mceusb buffer parser (a candidate for being
abstracted out into shared code at some point).

This initial code drop *only* supports receive, but the hardware does
support transmit as well. I really haven't even started to look at
what's required, but my guess is that its also pretty similar to mceusb.
Most people are probably only really interested in RX anyway though, so
I think its good to get this out there even with only RX.

(Nb: there are also Fintek-made mceusb receivers, which presumably, this
chip shares CIR hardware with).

This hardware can be found on at least Jetway NC98 boards and derivative
systems, and likely others as well. Functionality was tested with an
NC98 development board, in-kernel decode of RC6 (mce), RC5 (hauppauge)
and NEC-ish (tivo) remotes all successful, as was lirc userspace decode
of the RC6 remote.

Jarod Wilson 2154be651b [media] redrat3: new rc-core IR transceiver device driver
This is a new rc-core device driver for the IR transceivers made by
RedRat Ltd. (http://redrat.co.uk/). It started out life as an
out-of-lirc-tree lirc driver, maintained in its own repo on sourceforge,
by Stephen Cox. He started porting it to what was then ir-core, and I
finally picked it up about two week ago and did a fairly large overhaul
on it, and its now into a state where I'm fairly comfortable submitting
it here for review and inclusion in the kernel. I'm claiming authorship
of this driver, since while it started out as Stephen's work, its
definitely a derivative work now, at 876 lines added and 1698 lines
removed since grabbing it from sourceforge. Stephen's name is retained
as secondary author though, and credited in the headers. Those
interested in seeing how the changes evolved can (at least for now) look
at this branch in my git tree:

http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/jarod/linux-2.6-ir.git;a=shortlog;h=refs/heads/redrat3

That won't be around forever though, and I'm doing this as a single
commit to go into mainline. Anyway...

I've successfully tested in-kernel decode of rc5, rc6 and nec remotes,
as well as lirc userspace decode of rc5 and rc6. There are still some
quirks here to sort out with rc5 lirc userspace decode, but I'm working
with the RedRat folks themselves to figure out what's going on there
(rc5 lirc decode works, but you only get an event on key release --
in-kernel rc5 decode behaves perfectly fine). Note that lirc decode of
rc6 is working perfectly. Transmit is also working, tested by pointing
the redrat3 at an mceusb transceiver, which happily picked up the
transmitted signals and properly decoded them.

There's no default remote for this hardware, so its somewhat arbitrarily
set to use the Hauppauge RC5 keymap by default. Easily changed out by
way of ir-keytable and irrelevant if you're using lircd for decode.

Jarod Wilson 08aeb7c9a4 [media] rc: add locking to fix register/show race
When device_add is called in rc_register_device, the rc sysfs nodes show
up, and there's a window in which ir-keytable can be launched via udev
and trigger a show_protocols call, which runs without various rc_dev
fields filled in yet. Add some locking around registration and
store/show_protocols to prevent that from happening.

The problem manifests thusly:

Jarod Wilson c812045488 [media] ite-cir: finish tx before suspending
Continuing with IR transmit after resuming from suspend seems fairly
useless, given that the only place we can actually end up suspending is
after IR has been send and we're simply mdelay'ing. Lets simplify the
resume path by just waiting on tx to complete in the suspend path, then
we know we can't be transmitting on resume, and reinitialization of the
hardware registers becomes more straight-forward.

Jarod Wilson ae7b4d4bb5 [media] ite-cir: make IR receive work after resume
Just recently acquired an Asus Eee Box PC with an onboard IR receiver
driven by ite-cir (ITE8713 sub-variant). Works out of the box with the
ite-cir driver in 2.6.39, but stops working after a suspend/resume
cycle. Its fixed by simply reinitializing registers after resume,
similar to what's done in the nuvoton-cir driver. I've not tested with
any other ITE variant, but code inspection suggests this should be safe
on all variants.
