Jan Höppner dd4b3c83b9 s390/dasd/cio: Interpret ccw_device_get_mdc return value correctly
The max data count (mdc) is an unsigned 16-bit integer value as per AR
documentation and is received via ccw_device_get_mdc() for a specific
path mask from the CIO layer. The function itself also always returns a
positive mdc value or 0 in case mdc isn't supported or couldn't be
determined.

Though, the comment for this function describes a negative return value
to indicate failures.

As a result, the DASD device driver interprets the return value of
ccw_device_get_mdc() incorrectly. The error case is essentially a dead
code path.

To fix this behaviour, check explicitly for a return value of 0 and
change the comment for ccw_device_get_mdc() accordingly.

This fix merely enables the error code path in the DASD functions
get_fcx_max_data() and verify_fcx_max_data(). The actual functionality
stays the same and is still correct.

Cornelia Huck b91d9e67e5 s390/cio: fix intparm documentation
The common I/O layer is maintaining an "intparm" inspired by
the hardware intparm for driver usage. This "intparm" is not
only applicaple for ssch, but also for hsch/csch. The kerneldoc
states that it is only updated for hsch/csch if no prior request
is pending; however, this is not what the code does (whether
that would actually desireable is a different issue.)

Let's at least fix the kerneldoc for now.

Halil Pasic 37db8985b2 s390/cio: add basic protected virtualization support
As virtio-ccw devices are channel devices, we need to use the
dma area within the common I/O layer for any communication with
the hypervisor.

Note that we do not need to use that area for control blocks
directly referenced by instructions, e.g. the orb.

It handles neither QDIO in the common code, nor any device type specific
stuff (like channel programs constructed by the DASD driver).

An interesting side effect is that virtio structures are now going to
get allocated in 31 bit addressable storage.

Sebastian Ott f97a6b6c47 s390/cio: fix ccw_device_start_timeout API
There are cases a device driver can't start IO because the device is
currently in use by cio. In this case the device driver is notified
when the device is usable again.

Using ccw_device_start_timeout we would set the timeout (and change
an existing timeout) before we test for internal usage. Worst case
this could lead to an unexpected timer deletion.

Fix this by setting the timeout after we test for internal usage.

Greg Kroah-Hartman 13d1d559f0 s390: drivers: Remove redundant license text
Now that the SPDX tag is in all drivers/s390/ files, that identifies the
license in a specific and legally-defined manner. So the extra GPL text
wording can be removed as it is no longer needed at all.

This is done on a quest to remove the 700+ different ways that files in
the kernel describe the GPL license text. And there's unneeded stuff
like the address (sometimes incorrect) for the FSF which is never
needed.

No copyright headers or other non-license-description text was removed.

Greg Kroah-Hartman 724117b77b s390: cio: add SPDX identifiers to the remaining files
It's good to have SPDX identifiers in all files to make it easier to
audit the kernel tree for correct licenses.

Update the drivers/s390/cio/ files with the correct SPDX license
identifier based on the license text in the file itself. The SPDX
identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of
the full boiler plate text.

This work is based on a script and data from Thomas Gleixner, Philippe
Ombredanne, and Kate Stewart.

Paul Gortmaker a00f761f09 s390: cio: make it explicitly non-modular
The Makefile currently controlling compilation of this code is:

  obj-y += airq.o blacklist.o chsc.o cio.o css.o chp.o idset.o isc.o \
          fcx.o itcw.o crw.o ccwreq.o trace.o ioasm.o
  ccw_device-objs += device.o device_fsm.o device_ops.o
  ccw_device-objs += device_id.o device_pgid.o device_status.o
  obj-y += ccw_device.o cmf.o

...meaning that the files here are not being built as modular.

Lets remove the couple traces of modular infrastructure use, so that
when reading the code there is no doubt it is builtin-only.

Since module_init translates to device_initcall in the non-modular
case, the init ordering remains unchanged with this commit.

Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code.

We delete the MODULE_LICENSE tag etc. since all that information
was (or is now) contained at the top of the file in the comments.

We replace module.h with export.h where the file does export some
symbols.

If a driver wants to do command mode IO while CIO is doing
online path verification we ignore this request and provide

When a driver requests to do IO, we will adjust the mask of

The grace period handling introduced needless complexity. It didn't
help the dasd driver (which can handle terminated I/O just well),
and it doesn't help for long running channel programs (which won't
complete during the grace period anyway). Terminating I/O using a
path that just disappeared immediately is much more consistent with
what the user expects.

Peter Oberparleiter 28bdc6f623 [S390] cio: always query all paths on path verification.
Reappearing channel paths are sometimes not utilized by CCW devices
because path verification incorrectly relies on path-operational-mask
information which is not updated until a channel path has been used
again.
Modify path verification procedure to always query all available paths
to a device.

Peter Oberparleiter e0e32c8eba [S390] cio: update path groups on logical CHPID changes.
CHPIDs that are logically varied off will not be removed from
a CCW device's path group because resign-from-pathgroup command is
issued with invalid path mask of 0 because internal CCW operations
are masked by the logical path mask after the relevant bits are
cleared by the vary operation.
Do not apply logical path mask to internal operations.
