Zhen Lei ef9385fbf3 pinctrl: iproc-gpio: Remove redundant error printing in iproc_gpio_probe()
When devm_ioremap_resource() fails, a clear enough error message will be
printed by its subfunction __devm_ioremap_resource(). The error
information contains the device name, failure cause, and possibly resource
information.

Therefore, remove the error printing here to simplify code and reduce the
binary size.

Masahiro Yamada 0ab1438bad linux/kconfig.h: replace IF_ENABLED() with PTR_IF() in <linux/kernel.h>
<linux/kconfig.h> is included from all the kernel-space source files,
including C, assembly, linker scripts. It is intended to contain a
minimal set of macros to evaluate CONFIG options.

IF_ENABLED() is an intruder here because (x ? y : z) is C code, which
should not be included from assembly files or linker scripts.

Also, <linux/kconfig.h> is no longer self-contained because NULL is
defined in <linux/stddef.h>.

Move IF_ENABLED() out to <linux/kernel.h> as PTR_IF(). PTF_IF()
takes the general boolean expression instead of a CONFIG option
so that it fits better in <linux/kernel.h>.

Andy Shevchenko 482715ff06 pinctrl: core: Show pin numbers for the controllers with base = 0
The commit f1b206cf7c ("pinctrl: core: print gpio in pins debugfs file")
enabled GPIO pin number and label in debugfs for pin controller. However,
it limited that feature to the chips where base is positive number. This,
in particular, excluded chips where base is 0 for the historical or backward
compatibility reasons. Refactor the code to include the latter as well.

Tzung-Bi Shih 56ab29ec6f pinctrl: mediatek: use spin lock in mtk_rmw
Commit 42a46434e9 ("pinctrl: add lock in mtk_rmw function.") uses
mutex lock in mtk_rmw.  However the function is possible called from
atomic context.

For example call trace:

The max98357a_daiops_trigger() could run in either atomic or non-atomic

function called from invalid context at kernel/locking/mutex.c:254".

Uses spin lock in mtk_rmw instead.

1.In the JZ4740 part, remove pointless "lcd-no-pins", use "lcd-special"
  and "lcd-generic" instead "lcd-18bit-tft". Currently, in the mainline,
  no other devicetree out there is using the "lcd-18bit-tft" ABI, so we
  should be able to replace it safely.
2.In the JZ4725B part, adjust the location of the LCD pins related code
  to keep them consistent with the style of other parts.
3.In the JZ4760 part, add the missing comma and adjust element order in
  "jz4760_lcd_special_pins[]", keep them in the order of CLS/SPL/PS/REV
  like other "lcd_special_pins" arrays. And adjust the location of the
  "jz4760_lcd_generic" related code to keep them consistent with the
  style of other parts.
4.In the JZ4770 part, remove pointless "lcd-no-pins", add the missing
  "lcd-16bit", "lcd-18bit", "lcd-special", "lcd-generic".
5.In the X1000 part and the X1500 part, remove pointless "lcd-no-pins".
6.In the X1830 part, replace "lcd-rgb-18bit" with "lcd-tft-8bit" and
  "lcd-tft-24bit", because of the description of the TRANS_CONFIG.MODE
  register bits in the PM manual of the X1830, shows that the X1830 only
  supppots 24bit mode and 8bit mode for tft interface, only 18 pins in
  the GPIO table are because of the data[17:16], the data[9:8], and the
  data[1:0] has not been connected. And according to the description,
  the two interfaces supported by X1830 are respectively referred to as
  "TFT interface" and "SLCD interface", so the "lcd-rgb-xxx" is replaced
  with "lcd-tft-xxx" to avoid confusion.

without selecting or depending on GPIOLIB, despite
GPIOLIB_IRQCHIP depending on GPIOLIB. Having PINCTRL_MSM
select GPIOLIB will cause a recursive dependency error.

Tudor Ambarus cbde6c823b pinctrl: at91-pio4: Fix slew rate disablement
The slew rate was enabled by default for each configuration of the
pin. In case the pin had more than one configuration, even if
we set the slew rate as disabled in the device tree, the next pin
configuration would set again the slew rate enabled by default,
overwriting the slew rate disablement.
Instead of enabling the slew rate by default for each pin configuration,
enable the slew rate by default just once per pin, regardless of the
number of configurations. This way the slew rate disablement will also
work for cases where pins have multiple configurations.

Krzysztof Kozlowski fa0c10a5f3 pinctrl: samsung: use 'int' for register masks in Exynos
The Special Function Registers on all Exynos SoC, including ARM64, are
32-bit wide, so entire driver uses matching functions like readl() or
writel().  On 64-bit ARM using unsigned long for register masks:
1. makes little sense as immediately after bitwise operation it will be
   cast to 32-bit value when calling writel(),
2. is actually error-prone because it might promote other operands to
   64-bit.

Marek Vasut 589b9b8b7b pinctrl: stm32: Print invalid AF warning inside stm32_pctrl_is_function_valid()
The "invalid function %d on pin %d .\n" message is triplicated in the
driver in different variants, just pull it into the function and have
it once in the driver. The bonus is that all variants of the message
now print the pin number and AF consistently, so it is easier to debug
such pinmux problems.

Álvaro Fernández Rojas 9494b16976 pinctrl: add a pincontrol driver for BCM6358
Add a pincotrol driver for BCM6358. BCM6358 allow overlaying different
functions onto the GPIO pins. It does not support configuring individual
pins but only whole groups. These groups may overlap, and still require
the directions to be set correctly in the GPIO register. In addition the
functions register controls other, not directly mux related functions.

Roger Pau Monne 39c1f1bd8a pinctrl: intel: check REVID register value for device presence
Use the value read from the REVID register in order to check for the
presence of the device. A read of all ones is treated as if the device
is not present, and hence probing is ended.

This fixes an issue when running as a Xen PVH dom0, where the ACPI
DSDT table is provided unmodified to dom0 and hence contains the
pinctrl devices, but the MMIO region(s) containing the device
registers might not be mapped in the guest physical memory map if such
region(s) are not exposed on a PCI device BAR or marked as reserved in
the host memory map.

Geert Uytterhoeven febb4ee23a pinctrl: PINCTRL_ROCKCHIP should depend on ARCH_ROCKCHIP
The Rockchip GPIO and pin control modules are only present on Rockchip
SoCs.  Hence add a dependency on ARCH_ROCKCHIP, to prevent asking the
user about this driver when configuring a kernel without Rockchip
platform support.

Note that before, the PINCTRL_ROCKCHIP symbol was not visible, and
automatically selected when needed.  By making it tristate and
user-selectable, it became visible for everyone.

Hanna Hawa bd85125ea8 pinctrl: pinctrl-single: fix pcs_pin_dbg_show() when bits_per_mux is not zero
A System Error (SError, followed by kernel panic) was detected when
trying to print the supported pins in a pinctrl device which supports
multiple pins per register. This change fixes the pcs_pin_dbg_show() in

Implement support for pull-up (most pins) and pull-down (ASEBRK#/ACK)
handling for R-Car M2-W and M2-N, and RZ/G1M and RZ/G1N SoCs, using the

Note that on RZ/G1 SoCs, the "ASEBRK#/ACK" pin is called "ACK", but the

R-Car naming in DTS files.

Geert Uytterhoeven 1d3928a3e6 pinctrl: renesas: Add support for R-Car SoCs with pull-down only pins
Currently, the common R-Car bias handling supports pin controllers with
either:
  1. Separate pin Pull-Enable (PUEN) and pin Pull-Up/Down control (PUD)
     registers, for controlling both pin pull-up and pin pull-down,
  2. A single pin Pull-Up control register (PUPR), for controlling pin
     pull-up.

Add support for a variant of #2, where some bits in the single pin
Pull-Up control register (PUPR) control pin pull-down instead of pin
pull-up.  This is the case for the "ASEBRK#/ACK" pin on R-Car M2-W,
M2-N, and E2, and the "ACK" pin on RZ/G1M, RZ/G1N, RZ/G1E, and RZ/G1C.
To describe such a register, SoC-specific drivers need to provide two
instances of pinmux_bias_reg: a first one with the puen field filled in,
listing pins with pull-up functionality, and a second one with the pud
field filled in, listing pins with pull-down functionality.

The pin control sub-drivers for SH/R-Mobile SoCs contain almost
identical bias handling.  The only SoC-specific part is the mapping from
pin numbers to PORTnCR registers.

pinctrl.c code.  Use a callback to handle the pin/register mapping.

Shawn Guo 6d8d67988b pinctrl: qcom: sc8180x: add ACPI probe support
It adds ACPI probe support for pinctrl-sc8180x driver.  We have one
problem with ACPI table, i.e. GIO0 (TLMM) block has one single memory
resource to cover 3 tiles defined by SC8180X.  To follow the hardware
layout of 3 tiles which is already supported DT probe, it adds one
function to replace the original single memory resource with 3 named
ones for tiles.  With that, We can map memory for ACPI in the same way
as DT.

Michal Simek 6a37d75003 pinctrl: core: Set ret to 0 when group is skipped
Static analyzer tool found that the ret variable is not initialized but
code expects ret value >=0 when pinconf is skipped in the first pinmux
loop. The same expectation is for pinmux in a pinconf loop.
That's why initialize ret to 0 to avoid uninitialized ret value in first
loop or reusing ret value from first loop in second.

Michal Simek b991f8c362 pinctrl: core: Handling pinmux and pinconf separately
Right now the handling order depends on how entries are coming which is
corresponding with order in DT. We have reached the case with DT overlays
where conf and mux descriptions are exchanged which ends up in sequence
that firmware has been asked to perform configuration before requesting the
pin.

The patch is enforcing the order that pin is requested all the time first
followed by pin configuration. This change will ensure that firmware gets
requests in the right order.

Jonathan Marek 2a9be38099 pinctrl: qcom: lpass lpi: use default pullup/strength values
If these fields are not set in dts, the driver will use these variables
uninitialized to set the fields. Not only will it set garbage values for
these fields, but it can overflow into other fields and break those.

In the current sm8250 dts, the dmic01 entries do not have a pullup setting,
and might not work without this change.

Add "pinmux-select" to debugfs which will activate a pin function for a
given pin group:

The write operation pinmux_select() handles this by checking that the
names map to valid selectors and then calling ops->set_mux().

The existing "pinmux-functions" debugfs file lists the pin functions
registered for the pin controller. For example:

pinctrl: Add RISC-V Canaan Kendryte K210 FPIOA driver
Add the pinctrl-k210.c pinctrl driver for the Canaan Kendryte K210
field programmable IO array (FPIOA) to allow configuring the SoC pin
functions. The K210 has 48 programmable pins which can take any of 256
possible functions.

This patch is inspired from the k210 pinctrl driver for the u-boot
project and contains many direct contributions from Sean Anderson.

The MAINTAINERS file is updated, adding the entry "CANAAN/KENDRYTE K210
SOC FPIOA DRIVER" with myself listed as maintainer for this driver.

Hailong Fan b40b760aa2 pinctrl: mediatek: Fix trigger type setting follow for unexpected interrupt
When flipping the polarity will be generated interrupt under certain
circumstances, but GPIO external signal has not changed.
Then, mask the interrupt before polarity setting, and clear the
unexpected interrupt after trigger type setting completed.

Remove mtk_eint_flip_edge: because mtk_eint_unmask already calls it.

Claudiu Beznea c709135e57 pinctrl: at91-pio4: add support for slew-rate
SAMA7G5 supports slew rate configuration. Adapt the driver for this.
For output switching frequencies lower than 50MHz the slew rate needs to
be enabled. Since most of the pins on SAMA7G5 fall into this category

This patch converts spin_[lock|unlock] functions of pin bank to
raw_spinlock to support preempt-rt. This can avoid BUG() assertion when
irqchip callbacks are triggerred. Spinlocks can be converted rt_mutex
which is preemptible when we apply preempt-rt patches.

According to "Documentation/driver-api/gpio/driver.rst",

Douglas Anderson cf9d052aa6 pinctrl: qcom: Don't clear pending interrupts when enabling
In Linux, if a driver does disable_irq() and later does enable_irq()
on its interrupt, I believe it's expecting these properties:
* If an interrupt was pending when the driver disabled then it will
  still be pending after the driver re-enables.
* If an edge-triggered interrupt comes in while an interrupt is
  disabled it should assert when the interrupt is re-enabled.

If you think that the above sounds a lot like the disable_irq() and
enable_irq() are supposed to be masking/unmasking the interrupt
instead of disabling/enabling it then you've made an astute
observation.  Specifically when talking about interrupts, "mask"
usually means to stop posting interrupts but keep tracking them and
"disable" means to fully shut off interrupt detection.  It's
unfortunate that this is so confusing, but presumably this is all the
way it is for historical reasons.

Perhaps more confusing than the above is that, even though clients of
IRQs themselves don't have a way to request mask/unmask
vs. disable/enable calls, IRQ chips themselves can implement both.
...and yet more confusing is that if an IRQ chip implements
disable/enable then they will be called when a client driver calls
disable_irq() / enable_irq().

It does feel like some of the above could be cleared up.  However,
without any other core interrupt changes it should be clear that when
an IRQ chip gets a request to "disable" an IRQ that it has to treat it
like a mask of that IRQ.

In any case, after that long interlude you can see that the "unmask
and clear" can break things.  Maulik tried to fix it so that we no
longer did "unmask and clear" in commit 71266d9d39 ("pinctrl: qcom:
Move clearing pending IRQ to .irq_request_resources callback"), but it
only handled the PDC case and it had problems (it caused
sc7180-trogdor devices to fail to suspend).  Let's fix.

>From my understanding the source of the phantom interrupt in the
were these two things:
1. One that could have been introduced in msm_gpio_irq_set_type()
   (only for the non-PDC case).
2. Edges could have been detected when a GPIO was muxed away.

Fixing case #1 is easy.  We can just add a clear in
msm_gpio_irq_set_type().

Fixing case #2 is harder.  Let's use a concrete example.  In
sc7180-trogdor.dtsi we configure the uart3 to have two pinctrl states,
sleep and default, and mux between the two during runtime PM and
system suspend (see geni_se_resources_{on,off}() for more
details). The difference between the sleep and default state is that
the RX pin is muxed to a GPIO during sleep and muxed to the UART
otherwise.

As per Qualcomm, when we mux the pin over to the UART function the PDC
(or the non-PDC interrupt detection logic) is still watching it /
latching edges.  These edges don't cause interrupts because the
current code masks the interrupt unless we're entering suspend.
However, as soon as we enter suspend we unmask the interrupt and it's
counted as a wakeup.

Let's deal with the problem like this:
* When we mux away, we'll mask our interrupt.  This isn't necessary in
  the above case since the client already masked us, but it's a good
  idea in general.
* When we mux back will clear any interrupts and unmask.

Douglas Anderson a95881d6aa pinctrl: qcom: Properly clear "intr_ack_high" interrupts when unmasking
In commit 4b7618fdc7 ("pinctrl: qcom: Add irq_enable callback for
msm gpio") we tried to Ack interrupts during unmask.  However, that
patch forgot to check "intr_ack_high" so, presumably, it only worked
for a certain subset of SoCs.

Let's add a small accessor so we don't need to open-code the logic in
both places.

This was found by code inspection.  I don't have any access to the
hardware in question nor software that needs the Ack during unmask.

Douglas Anderson 4079d35fa4 pinctrl: qcom: No need to read-modify-write the interrupt status
When the Qualcomm pinctrl driver wants to Ack an interrupt, it does a
read-modify-write on the interrupt status register.  On some SoCs it
makes sure that the status bit is 1 to "Ack" and on others it makes
sure that the bit is 0 to "Ack".  Presumably the first type of
interrupt controller is a "write 1 to clear" type register and the
second just let you directly set the interrupt status register.

As far as I can tell from scanning structure definitions, the
interrupt status bit is always in a register by itself.  Thus with
both types of interrupt controllers it is safe to "Ack" interrupts
without doing a read-modify-write.  We can do a simple write.

It should be noted that if the interrupt status bit _was_ ever in a
register with other things (like maybe status bits for other GPIOs):
a) For "write 1 clear" type controllers then read-modify-write would
   be totally wrong because we'd accidentally end up clearing
   interrupts we weren't looking at.
b) For "direct set" type controllers then read-modify-write would also
   be wrong because someone setting one of the other bits in the
   register might accidentally clear (or set) our interrupt.
I say this simply to show that the current read-modify-write doesn't
provide any sort of "future proofing" of the code.  In fact (for
"write 1 clear" controllers) the new code is slightly more "future
proof" since it would allow more than one interrupt status bits to
share a register.

NOTE: this code fixes no bugs--it simply avoids an extra register
read.

Douglas Anderson a82e537807 pinctrl: qcom: Allow SoCs to specify a GPIO function that's not 0
There's currently a comment in the code saying function 0 is GPIO.
Instead of hardcoding it, let's add a member where an SoC can specify
it.  No known SoCs use a number other than 0, but this just makes the
code clearer.  NOTE: no SoC code needs to be updated since we can rely
on zero-initialization.
