Phillip Potter f2d4eef539 staging: octeon: remove braces from single-line block
This removes the braces from the if statement that checks the
physical node return value in cvm_oct_phy_setup_device, as this
block contains only one statement. Fixes a style warning.

Kumar Kartikeya Dwivedi 63ba253f8a staging: octeon: Switch from strlcpy to strscpy
strlcpy is marked as deprecated in Documentation/process/deprecated.rst,
and there is no functional difference when the caller expects truncation
(when not checking the return value). strscpy is relatively better as it
also avoids scanning the whole source string.

This silences the related checkpatch warnings from:

Linus Torvalds c0c419c045 Staging/IIO driver patches for 5.9-rc1
Here is the large set of Staging and IIO driver patches for 5.9-rc1.

Lots of churn here, but overall the size increase in lines added is
small, while adding a load of new IIO drivers.

 Major things in here:
 	- lots and lots of IIO new drivers and frameworks added
 	- IIO driver fixes and updates
 	- lots of tiny coding style cleanups for staging drivers
 	- vc04_services major reworks and cleanups

We had 3 set of drivers move out of staging in this round as well:
 	- wilc1000 wireless driver moved out of staging
 	- speakup moved out of staging
 	- most USB driver moved out of staging

Full details are in the shortlog.

All of these have been in linux-next with no reported issues. The last
few changes here were to resolve reported linux-next issues, and they
seem to have resolved the problems.

Andrew Lunn 791e5f61ae net: phy: mdio-octeon: Cleanup module loading dependencies
To ensure that the octeon MDIO driver has been loaded, the Cavium
ethernet drivers reference a dummy symbol in the MDIO driver. This
forces it to be loaded first. And this symbol has not been cleanly
implemented, resulting in warnings when build W=1 C=1.

Since device tree is being used, and a phandle points to the PHY on
the MDIO bus, we can make use of deferred probing. If the PHY fails to
connect, it should be because the MDIO bus driver has not loaded
yet. Return -EPROBE_DEFER so it will be tried again later.

Additionally, add a MODULE_SOFTDEP() to give user space a hint as to
what order it should load the modules.

Randy Dunlap 673b41e04a staging/octeon: fix up merge error
There's a semantic conflict in the Octeon staging network driver, which
used the skb_reset_tc() function to reset skb state when re-using an
skb. But that inline helper function was removed in mainline by commit
2c64605b59 ("net: Fix CONFIG_NET_CLS_ACT=n and
CONFIG_NFT_FWD_NETDEV={y, m} build").

Fix it by using skb_reset_redirect() instead. Also move it out of the

This code path only ends up triggering if REUSE_SKBUFFS_WITHOUT_FREE is
enabled, which in turn only happens if you don't have CONFIG_NETFILTER
configured. Which was how this wasn't caught by the usual allmodconfig

Guenter Roeck 075a1e87d1 staging/octeon: Mark Ethernet driver as BROKEN
The code doesn't compile due to incompatible pointer errors such as

drivers/staging/octeon/ethernet-tx.c:649:50: error:
passing argument 1 of 'cvmx_wqe_get_grp' from incompatible pointer type

This is due to mixing, for example, cvmx_wqe_t with 'struct cvmx_wqe'.

Unfortunately, one can not just revert the primary offending commit, as doing so
results in secondary errors. This is made worse by the fact that the "removed"
typedefs still exist and are used widely outside the staging directory,
making the entire set of "remove typedef" changes pointless and wrong.

Reflect reality and mark the driver as BROKEN.

Linus Torvalds 9cbc63485f Staging/IIO driver fixes for 5.4-rc3
Here are some staging and IIO driver fixes for 5.4-rc3.

The "biggest" thing here is a removal of the fbtft device and flexfb
code as they have been abandoned by their authors and are no longer
 needed for that hardware.

Other than that, the usual amount of staging driver and iio driver fixes
for reported issues, and some speakup sysfs file documentation, which
 has been long awaited for.

All have been in linux-next with no reported issues.

Paul Burton 17a29fea08 staging/octeon: Use stubs for MIPS && !CAVIUM_OCTEON_SOC
When building for a non-Cavium MIPS system with COMPILE_TEST=y, the
Octeon ethernet driver hits a number of issues due to use of macros
provided only for CONFIG_CAVIUM_OCTEON_SOC=y configurations. For
example:

  drivers/staging/octeon/ethernet-rx.c:190:6: error:
'CONFIG_CAVIUM_OCTEON_CVMSEG_SIZE' undeclared (first use in this function)
  drivers/staging/octeon/ethernet-rx.c:472:25: error:
'OCTEON_IRQ_WORKQ0' undeclared (first use in this function)

These come from various asm/ headers that a non-Octeon build will be
using a non-Octeon version of.

Fix this by using the octeon-stubs.h header for non-Cavium MIPS builds,
and only using the real asm/octeon/ headers when building a Cavium
Octeon kernel configuration.

This requires that octeon-stubs.h doesn't redefine XKPHYS_TO_PHYS, which
is defined for MIPS by asm/addrspace.h which is pulled in by many other
common asm/ headers.

Florian Westphal 895b5c9f20 netfilter: drop bridge nf reset from nf_reset
commit 174e23810c
("sk_buff: drop all skb extensions on free and skb scrubbing") made napi
recycle always drop skb extensions. The additional skb_ext_del() that is
performed via nf_reset on napi skb recycle is not needed anymore.

Most nf_reset() calls in the stack are there so queued skb won't block
'rmmod nf_conntrack' indefinitely.

This removes the skb_ext_del from nf_reset, and renames it to a more
fitting nf_reset_ct().

In a few selected places, add a call to skb_ext_reset to make sure that
no active extensions remain.

I am submitting this for "net", because we're still early in the release
cycle. The patch applies to net-next too, but I think the rename causes
needless divergence between those trees.

Commit 284eb16068 ("staging: octeon-ethernet: support
of_get_mac_address new ERR_PTR error") has introduced checking for
ERR_PTR encoded error value from of_get_mac_address with IS_ERR macro,
which is not sufficient in this case, as the mac variable is set to NULL
initialy and if the kernel is compiled without DT support this NULL
would get passed to IS_ERR, which would lead to the wrong decision and
would pass that NULL pointer and invalid MAC address further.
