We want to map uC-level checks to GuC/HuC-level ones. The mapping from
the uC state to the GuC/HuC one follows the same pattern for all the
functions:
uc_xxx_guc() -> guc_is_yyy()
So we can easily use a macro to autogenerate the functions via macros by
passing in the 2 mapped states.

On Braswell and Broxton (also known as Valleyview and Apollolake), we
need to serialise updates of the GGTT using the big stop_machine()
hammer. This has the side effect of appearing to lockdep as a possible
reclaim (since it uses the cpuhp mutex and that is tainted by per-cpu
allocations). However, we want to use vm->mutex (including ggtt->mutex)
from within the shrinker and so must avoid such possible taints. For this
purpose, we introduced the asynchronous vma binding and we can apply it
to the PIN_GLOBAL so long as take care to add the necessary waits for
the worker afterwards.

The Gen11+ and the legacy function differ in the register and value
written to interrupt the GuC. However, while on older gen the value
matches a bit on the register, on Gen11+ the value is a SW defined

what value we pass to it, we can just write the same thing on all gens

The GuC supports having multiple CT buffer pairs and we designed our
implementation with that in mind. However, the different channels are not
processed in parallel within the GuC, so there is very little advantage
in having multiple channels (independent locks?), compared to the
drawbacks (one channel can starve the other if messages keep being
submitted to it). Given this, it is unlikely we'll ever add a second
channel and therefore we can simplify our code by removing the
flexibility.

guc_communication_disable is that the former can be called after GuC
has been reset. Instead of having two separate paths, we can just skip
the call into GuC in the disabling path and re-use that.
Note that by using the disable() path instead of the stop() one there
are two additional changes in SW side for the stop path:
- interrupts are now disabled before disabling the CT, which is ok
because we do not want interrupts with CT disabled;
- guc_get_mmio_msg() is called in the stop case as well, which is ok
because if there are errors before the reset we do want to record

Instead of relying on the workqueue, the upcoming reworked GuC
submission flow will offer the host driver indipendent control over
the execution status of each context submitted to GuC. As part of this,
the doorbell usage model has been reworked, with each doorbell being
paired to a single lrc and a doorbell ring representing new work
available for that specific context. This mechanism, however, limits
the number of contexts that can be registered with GuC to the number of
doorbells, which is an undesired limitation. To avoid this limitation,
we requested the GuC team to also provide a H2G that will allow the host
to notify the GuC of work available for a specified lrc, so we can use
that mechanism instead of relying on the doorbells. We can therefore drop
the doorbell code we currently have, also given the fact that in the
unlikely case we'd want to switch back to using doorbells we'd have to
heavily rework it.
The workqueue will still have a use in the new interface to pass special
commands, so that code has been retained for now.
With the doorbells gone and the GuC client becoming even simpler, the
existing GuC selftests don't give us any meaningful coverage so we can
remove them as well. Some selftests might come with the new code, but
they will look different from what we have now so if doesn't seem worth
it to keep the file around in the meantime.

On some platforms (e.g. KBL) that do not support GuC submission, but
the user enabled the GuC communication (e.g for HuC authentication)
calling the GuC EXIT_S_STATE action results in lose of ability to

not need to save the GuC submission status.
Add intel_guc_submission_is_enabled() function to determine if
GuC submission is active.

With the new interrupt re-partitioning in Gen11, GuC controls by itself
the interrupts it receives, so steering bits and registers have been
defeatured. Being this the case, when the GuC is in control of
submissions we won't know what to do with the ctx switch interrupt
in the driver, so disable it.

During normal driver unload we attempt to disable GuC communication
while it is currently stopped. This results in a nop'd call to
intel_guc_ct_disable within guc_disable_communication because
stop/disable rely on the same flag to prevent further comms with CT.
We can avoid the call to disable and still leave communication in a
satisfactory state by extracting a set of shared steps from stop/disable.
This set can include guc_disable_interrupts as we do not require the
single caller of guc_stop_communication to be atomic:
"drm/i915/selftests: Fixup atomic reset checking".
This situation (stop -> disable) only occurs during intel_uc_fini_hw,
so during fini, call guc_disable_communication only if currently enabled.
The symmetric calls to enable/disable remain unmodified for all other
scenarios.

We rely on the tasklet to update the GT PM refcount, so we can't disable
it even if we've processed all the requests for the engine because we
might have detected the request completion before the interrupt arrived.
Since on all platforms on which we plan to support guc submission we
don't allow disabling the breadcrumb interrupts, we can further siplify
the park/unpark flow by removing the interrupt pin/unpin. A BUG_ON has
been added to catch changes to this flow that would require us to
restore some kind of pinning.

Since commit 6ca9a2beb5 ("drm/i915: Unwind i915_gem_init() failure")
we believed that we correctly handle all errors encountered during
GuC initialization, including special one that indicates request to
run driver with disabled GPU submission (-EIO).
Unfortunately since commit 121981fafe ("drm/i915/guc: Combine
enable_guc_loading|submission modparams") we stopped using that
error code to avoid unwanted fallback to execlist submission mode.
In result any GuC initialization failure was treated as non-recoverable
error leading to driver load abort, so we could not even read related
GuC error log to investigate cause of the problem.
For now always return -EIO on any uC hardware related failure.

As we need to acquire a mutex to serialise the final
intel_wakeref_put, we need to ensure that we are in process context at
that time. However, we want to allow operation on the intel_wakeref from
inside timer and other hardirq context, which means that need to defer
that final put to a workqueue.
Inside the final wakeref puts, we are safe to operate in any context, as
we are simply marking up the HW and state tracking for the potential
sleep. It's only the serialisation with the potential sleeping getting
that requires careful wait avoidance. This allows us to retain the
immediate processing as before (we only need to sleep over the same
races as the current mutex_lock).

The shrinker cannot touch objects used by the contexts (logical state
and ring). Currently we mark those as "pin_global" to let the shrinker
skip over them, however, if we remove them from the shrinker lists
entirely, we don't event have to include them in our shrink accounting.
By keeping the unshrinkable objects in our shrinker tracking, we report
a large number of objects available to be shrunk, and leave the shrinker
deeply unsatisfied when we fail to reclaim those. The shrinker will
persist in trying to reclaim the unavailable objects, forcing the system
into a livelock (not even hitting the dread oomkiller).
