Separate the W90X900(W90P910) on-chip host controller driver from
ehci-hcd host code so that it can be built as a separate driver module.
This work is part of enabling multi-platform kernels on ARM;
however, note that other changes are still needed before W90X900(W90P910)
can be booted with a multi-platform kernel
and an ehci driver that only works on one of them.
With the infrastructure added by Alan Stern in patch 3e0232039
"USB: EHCI: prepare to make ehci-hcd a library module", we can
avoid this problem by turning a bus glue into a separate
module, as we do here for the w90X900 bus glue.

Hi Greg,
This pull request includes one new feature for the xhci-plat driver (device
tree support). Felipe was fine with the patch last I checked, but hadn't
provided an official Acked-by line.
This pull request also includes 13 patches from my FOSS Outreach Program for
Women (OPW) intern, Xenia. She fixed a bug in the xHCI driver so that the
driver can allocate 64-bit consistent DMA, converted the driver to use dynamic
debugging, and added a bunch of new trace events for the xHCI driver. The
python plugin for trace-cmd should be up on git hub shortly, although the trace
events are usable without it.
I'm very happy with the progress that Xenia has made, and I look forward to her
future contributions to the Linux kernel.

commit 9841f37a1c ("usb: ehci: Add support for SINGLE_STEP_SET_FEATURE
test of EHSET") added additional code to the EHCI hub driver but it is
anticipated to only have a limited audience (e.g. embedded silicon
vendors and integrators). Avoid subjecting all EHCI (and in the future
maybe xHCI/OHCI, etc.) HCD users to code bloat by conditionally
compiling the EHSET-specific additions with a new Kconfig option,
CONFIG_USB_HCD_TEST_MODE.

CONFIG_USB_XHCI_HCD_DEBUGGING option is used to enable
verbose debugging output for the xHCI host controller
driver.
In the current version of the xhci-hcd driver, this
option must be turned on, in order for the debugging
log messages to be displayed, and users may need to
recompile the linux kernel to obtain debugging
information that will help them track down problems.
This patch removes the above debug option to enable
debugging log messages at all times.
The aim of this is to rely on the debugfs and the
dynamic debugging feature for fine-grained management
of debugging messages and to not force users to set
the debug config option and compile the linux kernel
in order to have access in that information.
This patch, also, removes the XHCI_DEBUG symbol and the
functions dma_to_stream_ring(), xhci_test_radix_tree()
and xhci_event_ring_work() that are not useful anymore.

When CONFIG_USB_SUPPORT is not selected we get things like:
scripts/kconfig/mconf Kconfig
warning: (MIPS_SEAD3 && PMC_MSP && CPU_CAVIUM_OCTEON) selects USB_EHCI_BIG_ENDIAN_MMIO which has unmet direct dependencies (USB_SUPPORT && USB)
It is much cleaner to make the various system Kconfigs select
USB_EHCI_BIG_ENDIAN_MMIO rather than move the system config
information into USB's Kconfig, but the warnings are annoying.
Eliminate the warning by moving the definition of
USB_EHCI_BIG_ENDIAN_MMIO outside of all the Kconfig if statements.
While we are at it move USB_OHCI_BIG_ENDIAN_DESC,
USB_OHCI_BIG_ENDIAN_MMIO, USB_OHCI_LITTLE_ENDIAN and
USB_EHCI_BIG_ENDIAN_DESC too, as they could very well suffer similar
problems for other systems.

Convert PHY Drivers from menuconfig to menu so that the PHY drivers
can be explicitely selected by the controller drivers.
USB_PHY is no longer a user visible option. It is upto to the PHY
drivers to select it if needed. This patch does so for the existing
PHY drivers that use the USB_PHY library.
Doing so moves the USB_PHY and PHY driver selection problem from the
end user to the PHY and controller driver developer.
e.g.
Earlier, a controller driver (e.g. EHCI_OMAP) that needs to select
a PHY driver (e.g. NOP_PHY) couldn't do so because the PHY driver
depended on USB_PHY. Making the controller driver depend on USB_PHY
has a negative effect i.e. it becomes invisible to the user till
USB_PHY is enabled. Most end users will not familiar with this.
With this patch, the end user just needs to select the controller driver
needed for his/her platform without worrying about which PHY driver to
select.
Also update USB_EHCI_MSM, USB_LPC32XX and USB_OMAP to not depend
on USB_PHY any more. They can safely select the necessary PHY drivers.

The three options USB_ARCH_HAS_{EHCI,OHCI,XHCI} are all well beyond
their recommended shelf life. They have caused numerous build failures
over the years because they are never completely correct, and with
the move to splitting out the platform specific back-ends out of the
driver, there is no real need for them any more. Also, the use of making
USB_ARCH_HAS_HCD depend on it is questionable since one can always enable
dummy_hc these days.
This patch enables them unconditionally for all platforms and
architectures, which means it is now possible to build host controller
drivers for machines that are known not to come with this hardware,
but that is just how we treat most other drivers.
In order to minimise the impact on existing architecture code and
defconfig files, all the Kconfig are left present for now. All platforms
that currently do 'select USB_ARCH_HAS_*' should subsequently be changed
not to select that. All drivers depending on USB_ARCH_HAS_HCD should
be changed to depend on USB_SUPPORT instead.

This patch splits the PCI portion of ohci-hcd out into its
own separate driver module, called ohci-pci.
The major point of difficulty lies in ohci-pci's many vendor- and
device-specific workarounds. Some of them have to be applied before
calling ohci_start() some after, which necessitates a fair amount of
code motion. The other platform drivers require much smaller changes.
The complete sb800_prefetch() function moved to ohci-q.c,because its
only related to ohci-pci driver.
USB_OHCI_HCD_PCI symbol no longer dependence on STB03xxx, PPC_MPC52xx and
USB_OHCI_HCD_PPC_OF that's what removed.
V2:
- few specific content of pci related code in ohci_pci_start function has been moved to ohci_pci_reset
and rest of the generic code is written in ohci_start of ohci-hcd.c file.
V3:
- ohci_restart() has been called in ohci_pci_reset() function for to reset the ohci pci.
V4:
-sb800_prefetch() moved to ohci-q.c,because its only related to ohci-pci.
-no longer _creating_ CONFIG_USB_OHCI_PCI,creating CONFIG_USB_OHCI_HCD_PCI.
-overrides renamed with pci_override,its giving proper meaning.
V5:
-sb800_prefetch() moved to pci-quirks.c,because its only related to pci.
V6:
-sb800_prefetch() function has been moved to pci-quirks.c made as separate patch in 2/3.
-Most of the generic ohci pci changes moved in 2/3 patch, now this is complete ohci-pci separation patch.
V7:
-Unrelated include file has been removed from ohci.h file.
V8:
-USB_OHCI_HCD_PCI symbol does not dependence on STB03xxx, PPC_MPC52xx and USB_OHCI_HCD_PPC_OF.

FUSBH200-HCD is an USB2.0 hcd for Faraday FUSBH200.
FUSBH200 is an ehci-like controller with some differences.
First, register layout of FUSBH200 is incompatible with EHCI.
Furthermore, FUSBH200 is lack of siTDs which means iTDs
are used for both HS and FS ISO transfer.

The Kconfig settings for uhci-hcd are too permissive; they allow the
driver to be built without any bus-glue modules configured
(USB_UHCI_HCD enabled, PCI disabled, SPARC_LEON disabled, ARCH_VT8500
enabled, and USB_UHCI_PLATFORM disabled).
This patch fixes the problem by rearranging the dependencies. Now the
platform-dependent config options don't depend on USB_UHCI_HCD;
instead it depends on them. Furthermore, there is no user-selectable
choice as to which glue modules will be built. If USB_UHCI_HCD is
enabled then all applicable bus glues will be built.

Separate the Orion host controller driver from ehci-hcd host
code into its own driver module because of following reason.
With the multiplatform changes in arm-soc tree, it becomes
possible to enable the mvebu platform (which uses
ehci-orion) at the same time as other platforms that require
a conflicting EHCI bus glue. At the moment, this results
in a warning like
drivers/usb/host/ehci-hcd.c:1297:0: warning: "PLATFORM_DRIVER" redefined [enabled by default]
drivers/usb/host/ehci-hcd.c:1277:0: note: this is the location of the previous definition

avoid this problem by turning a bus glue into a separate
module, as we do here for the orion bus glue.
An earlier version of this patch was included in 3.9 but caused
a regression there, which has subsequently been fixed.

Marvell EHCI controller implementations in Kconfig.

With the multiplatform changes in arm-soc tree, it becomes
possible to enable the vt8500 platform at the same time
as other platforms that require a conflicting EHCI bus
glue. At the moment, this results in a warning like
drivers/usb/host/ehci-hcd.c:1277:0: warning: "PLATFORM_DRIVER" redefined [enabled by default]
drivers/usb/host/ehci-hcd.c:1257:0: note: this is the location of the previous definition
drivers/usb/host/ehci-omap.c:319:31: warning: 'ehci_hcd_omap_driver' defined but not used [-Wunused-variable]
and an ehci driver that only works on one of them.
With the infrastructure added by Alan Stern in patch 3e0232039
"USB: EHCI: prepare to make ehci-hcd a library module", we can
avoid this problem by turning a bus glue into a separate
module, as we do here for the vt8500 bus glue.

This patch (as1643b) fixes a build error in ehci-hcd when compiling for
ARM with allmodconfig:
drivers/usb/host/ehci-hcd.c:1285:0: warning: "PLATFORM_DRIVER" redefined [enabled by default]
drivers/usb/host/ehci-hcd.c:1255:0: note: this is the location of the previous definition
drivers/usb/host/ehci-mxc.c:280:31: warning: 'ehci_mxc_driver' defined but not used [-Wunused-variable]
drivers/usb/host/ehci-hcd.c:1285:0: warning: "PLATFORM_DRIVER" redefined [enabled by default]
drivers/usb/host/ehci-hcd.c:1255:0: note: this is the location of the previous definition
The fix is to convert ehci-mxc over to the new "ehci-hcd is a library"
scheme so that it can coexist peacefully with the ehci-platform
driver. As part of the conversion the ehci_mxc_priv data structure,
which was allocated dynamically, is now placed where it belongs: in
the private area at the end of struct ehci_hcd.

This patch (as1625) splits the PCI portion of ehci-hcd out into its

current practice, the decision whether to build this module is not
user-configurable. If EHCI and PCI are enabled then the module will
be built, always.

This is a large branch that contains a handful of different cleanups:
- Fixing up the I/O space remapping on PCI on ARM. This is a series
from Rob Herring that restructures how all pci devices allocate I/O
space, and it's part of the work to allow multiplatform kernels.
- A number of cleanup series for OMAP, moving and removing some
headers, sparse irq rework and in general preparation for
multiplatform.
- Final removal of all non-DT boards for Tegra, it is now
device-tree-only!
- Removal of a stale platform, nxp4008. It's an old mobile chipset
that is no longer in use, and was very likely never really used with
a mainline kernel. We have not been able to find anyone interested
in keeping it around in the kernel.
- Removal of the legacy dmaengine driver on tegra

This patch adds support for universal host controllers that use
big endian descriptors. Support for BE descriptors requires a non-PCI
host controller. For kernels with PCI-only UHCI there should be no
change in behaviour.
This patch tries to replicate the technique used to support BE descriptors
in the EHCI HCD. Parts added to uhci-hcd.h are basically copy'n'paste from
ehci.h.

This patch adds support for big endian mmio to the UHCI HCD. Big endian
mmio is supported by adding a flag bit to the UHCI HCD replicating the
solution used in the EHCI HCD.
When adding big endian support this patch also adds a check to see if we
need to support HCs with PCI I/O registers when we support HCs with MMIO.
This patch also adds 'const' to the register access functions' uhci_hcd

This patch is part of a series that extend the UHCI HCD to support
non-PCI host controllers.
This patch also extends the uhci_{read,write}* functions to allow accesses
to registers not mapped into PCI I/O space. This extension also includes
the addition of a void __iomem pointer to the uhci structure.
A new Kconfig option is added to signal that the system has a non-PCI HC.
If this Kconfig option is set, uhci-hcd.c will include generic reset functions
for systems that do not make use of keyboard and mouse legacy support. PCI
controllers will still always use the reset functions from pci-quirks
This patch is followed by a patch that adds bus glue for the first non-PCI
UHCI HC.

The OCTEON II SOC has USB EHCI and OHCI controllers connected directly
to the internal I/O bus. This patch adds the necessary 'glue' logic
to allow ehci-hcd and ohci-hcd drivers to work on OCTEON II.
The OCTEON normally runs big-endian, and the ehci/ohci internal
registers have host endianness, so we need to select
USB_EHCI_BIG_ENDIAN_MMIO.
The ehci and ohci blocks share a common clocking and PHY
infrastructure. Initialization of the host controller and PHY clocks
is common between the two and is factored out into the
octeon2-common.c file.
Setting of USB_ARCH_HAS_OHCI and USB_ARCH_HAS_EHCI is done in
arch/mips/Kconfig in a following patch.

Extends FSL EHCI platform driver glue layer to support
MPC5121 USB controllers. MPC5121 Rev 2.0 silicon EHCI
registers are in big endian format. The appropriate flags
are set using the information in the platform data structure.
MPC83xx system interface registers are not available on
MPC512x, so the access to these registers is isolated in
MPC512x case. Furthermore the USB controller clocks
must be enabled before 512x register accesses which is
done by providing platform specific init callback.
The MPC512x internal USB PHY doesn't provide supply voltage.
For boards using different power switches allow specifying
DRVVBUS and PWR_FAULT signal polarity of the MPC5121 internal
PHY using "fsl,invert-drvvbus" and "fsl,invert-pwr-fault"
properties in the device tree USB nodes. Adds documentation

This patch (as1382) changes the USB_EHCI_TT_NEWSCHED Kconfig option to
be non-experimental and to default to Y. This option has existed for
a long time, and I have not heard any complaints concerning it. By
contrast, several people have reported that their devices could be

The point of changing the default is to cause the option to be enabled

like this.

Until there is a checkbox where the user *must* select atleast one item,
and may select multiple entries I don't make it selectable anymore.
Having a driver which can't be used under any circumstances is broken
anyway and I've seen distros shipping it that way.

R8A66597 is similar to SH7723 USB 2.0 Host/Function module.
In addition, the USB of SH7366 is compatible with SH7723.
It can support SH7723 USB host by changing Kconfig.

This driver has been written from scratch and supports the ISP1760. ISP1761
might (should) work as well but the OTG isn't supported. Also ISO packets are
not. However, it works on my little PowerPC board.
