The dep->interval captures the number of frames/microframes per interval
from bInterval. Fullspeed interrupt endpoint bInterval is the number of
frames per interval and not 2^(bInterval - 1). So fix it here. This

To keep the setting of interrupt-on-completion (IOC) when out of TRBs
consistent and easier to read, the caller of dwc3_prepare_one_trb()

number of times we need to call dwc3_calc_trbs_left(). Note that we only

Previously if we run out of TRBs for the last SG entry that requires
an extra TRB, we set interrupt-on-completion (IOC) bit to an already

typical way to prepare TRB. Also, this prevents showing IOC setup in

This happens when we need to stop and restart a transfer such as in the

DSTS provides the lower 14 bit of the frame number. Use it in combination
with the frame number provided by XferNotReady to guess the current frame

since XferNotReady.
Start transfer might still fail if the frame number is increased

DWC_usb32 v1.00a and later can use SET_EP_PRIME command to reinitiate a

Overview of stream transfer requirement:
* A transfer will have a set of TRBs of the same stream ID.
* A transfer is started with a stream ID in START_TRANSFER command.
* A new stream will only start when the previous completes.
Overview of stream events:
* A "prime" from host indicates that its endpoints are active
(buffers prepared and ready to receive/transmit data). The controller
automatically initiates stream if it sees this.
* A "NoStream" rejection event indicates that the host isn't ready.
Host will put the endpoint back to idle state. Device may need to
reinitiate the stream to start transfer again.
* A Stream Found event means host accepted device initiated stream.
Nothing needs to be done from driver.
To initiate a stream, the driver will issue START_TRANSFER command with
a stream ID. To reinitiate the stream, the driver must issue
END_TRANSFER and restart the transfer with START_TRANSFER command with
the same stream ID.
This implementation handles device-initated streams (e.g. UASP driver).
It also handles some hosts' quirky behavior where they only prime each
endpoint once.

Don't prepare TRBs beyond a transfer. In DWC_usb32, its transfer burst

other controllers, they don't process the next transfer TRBs until the

for all controllers.

In DWC3, to prepare TRBs for streams, all the TRBs of a transfer will
use the same stream ID. To start a new stream, the driver needs to wait
for the current transfer to complete or ended (by END_TRANFER command).
As a result, inform the controller of the last TRB of a transfer so that
it knows when a transfer completes and start a new transfer of a new
stream.
Even though the transfer completion handling can be applied for other
non-isoc endpoints, only do it for streams due to its requirement.
It's better to keep the controller's TRB cache full than waiting for
transfer completion and starting a new transfer.

To switch from one stream to another, this requires the driver to start
a new transfer with a specific stream ID. For a transfer to complete,
the driver needs to indicate the last TRB of a transfer, and it needs to
enable XferComplete event to handle completed TRBs of a transfer. Let's
enable this event only for stream capable endpoints.

Synopsys introduces a new controller DWC_usb32. It supports dual-lane
and speed up to 20 Gbps, and the DWC3 driver will drive this controller.
Currently the driver uses a single field dwc->revision to ID both
DWC_usb3 and DWC_usb31 and their version number. This was sufficient for
two IPs, but this method doesn't work with additional IPs. As a result,
let's separate the dwc->revision field to 2 separate fields: ip and
revision. The ip field now stores the ID of the controller's IP while
the revision field stores the controller's version number.
This new scheme enforces DWC3 to compare the revision within the same IP
only. As a result, we must update all the revision check of the
controller to check its corresponding IP.
To help with this enforcement, we create a few macros to help with
the common version checks:
DWC3_IP_IS(IP)
DWC3_VER_IS(IP, VERSION)
DWC3_VER_IS_PRIOR(IP, VERSION)
DWC3_VER_IS_WITHIN(IP, LOWER_VERSION, UPPER_VERSION)
DWC3_VER_TYPE_IS_WITHIN(IP, VERSION,
LOWER_VERSION_TYPE,
UPPER_VERSION_TYPE)
The DWC_usb32 controller operates using the same programming model and
with very similar configurations as its previous controllers. Please
note that the various IP and revision checks in this patch match the
current checks for DWC_usb31 version 1.90a. Additional configurations
that are unique to DWC_usb32 are applied separately.

The check for the HWO flag in dwc3_gadget_ep_reclaim_trb_sg()
causes us to break out of the loop before we call
dwc3_gadget_ep_reclaim_completed_trb(), which is what likely
should be clearing the HWO flag.
This can cause odd behavior where we never reclaim all the trbs
in the sg list, so we never call giveback on a usb req, and that
will causes transfer stalls.
This effectively resovles the adb stalls seen on HiKey960
after userland changes started only using AIO in adbd.

If the driver issued START_TRANSFER and received a no-resource status,
then generally there are a few reasons for this:
1) The driver did not allocate resource for the endpoint during
power-on-reset initialization.
2) The transfer resource was reset. At this moment, we don't do this in
the driver, but it occurs when the driver issues START_CONFIG cmd to ep0
with resource index=2.
3) The driver issues the START_TRANSFER command to an already started
endpoint. Usually, this is because the END_TRANSFER command hasn't
completed yet.

Remove 2 unnecessary checks:
1) A request in the started_list must have its trb field set. So
checking for req->trb is unnecessary.
2) An endpoint must have started (and have not ended) for the request to

is started. We had this check because previously the driver didn't

If a request is dequeued, the transfer is cancelled. Give back all

In most scenarios, the function driver dequeues all requests of a
transfer when there's a failure. If the function driver follows this,
then it's fine. If not, then we'd be skipping TRBs at different points
within the dequeue and enqueue pointers, making dequeue/enqueue pointers
useless. To enforce and make sure that we're properly skipping TRBs,

Currently the calculation of max packet size limit for IN endpoints is
too restrictive. This prevents a matching of a capable hardware endpoint
during configuration. Below is the minimum recommended HW configuration
to support a particular endpoint setup from the databook:
For OUT endpoints, the databook recommended the minimum RxFIFO size to
be at least 3x MaxPacketSize + 3x setup packets size (8 bytes each) +
clock crossing margin (16 bytes).
For IN endpoints, the databook recommended the minimum TxFIFO size to be
at least 3x MaxPacketSize for endpoints that support burst. If the
endpoint doesn't support burst or when the device is operating in USB
2.0 mode, a minimum TxFIFO size of 2x MaxPacketSize is recommended.
Base on these recommendations, we can calculate the MaxPacketSize limit
of each endpoint. This patch revises the IN endpoint MaxPacketSize limit
and also sets the MaxPacketSize limit for OUT endpoints.

If scatter-gather operation is allowed, a large USB request is split
into multiple TRBs. For preparing TRBs for sg list, driver iterates
over the list and creates TRB for each sg and mark the chain bit to
false for the last sg. The current IOMMU driver is clubbing the list
of sgs which shares a page boundary into one and giving it to USB driver.
With this the number of sgs mapped it not equal to the the number of sgs
passed. Because of this USB driver is not marking the chain bit to false
since it couldn't iterate to the last sg. This patch addresses this issue
by marking the chain bit to false if it is the last mapped sg.
At a practical level, this patch resolves USB transfer stalls
seen with adb on dwc3 based db845c, pixel3 and other qcom

The current code in dwc3_gadget_ep_reclaim_completed_trb() will
check for IOC/LST bit in the event->status and returns if
IOC/LST bit is set. This logic doesn't work if multiple TRBs
are queued per request and the IOC/LST bit is set on the last
TRB of that request.
Consider an example where a queued request has multiple queued
TRBs and IOC/LST bit is set only for the last TRB. In this case,
the core generates XferComplete/XferInProgress events only for
the last TRB (since IOC/LST are set only for the last TRB). As
per the logic in dwc3_gadget_ep_reclaim_completed_trb()
event->status is checked for IOC/LST bit and returns on the
first TRB. This leaves the remaining TRBs left unhandled.
Similarly, if the gadget function enqueues an unaligned request
with sglist already in it, it should fail the same way, since we
will append another TRB to something that already uses more than
one TRB.
To aviod this, this patch changes the code to check for IOC/LST
bits in TRB->ctrl instead.
At a practical level, this patch resolves USB transfer stalls seen
with adb on dwc3 based HiKey960 after functionfs gadget added

low-power signal (utmi_l1_suspend_n) to the phy when the BESL value of
the LPM token is equal to or greater than DCTL.HIRD_Thres[3:0] (and
with DCTL.HIRD_Thres[4] set). Otherwise, the shallow low-power signal
(utmi_sleep_n) is asserted. Set the recommended deep BESL equal to the
controller's DCTL.HIRD_Thres[3:0] setting, and set the baseline BESL
to 0 for the shallow low-power signal. This maximizes the opportunity
for L1 residency and optimizes power savings.

This reverts
commit 6a4290cc28 ("usb: dwc3: gadget: set the OTG flag in dwc3 gadget driver.")
We don't yet support any of the OTG mechanisms (HNP/SRP/ADP)
and are not setting gadget->otg_caps, so don't set gadget->is_otg
flag.
If we do then we end up publishing a OTG1.0 descriptor in
the gadget descriptor which causes device enumeration to fail
if we are connected to a host with CONFIG_USB_OTG enabled.

Gadget applications may have a requirement to disable the U1 and U2
entry based on the usecase. Below are few usecases where the disabling
U1/U2 entries may be possible.
Usecase 1:
When combining dwc3 with an redriver for a USB Type-C device solution, it
sometimes have problems with leaving U1/U2 for certain hosts, resulting in
link training errors and reconnects. For this U1/U2 state entries may be
avoided.
Usecase 2:
When performing performance benchmarking on mass storage gadget the
U1 and U2 entries can be disabled.
Usecase 3:
When periodic transfers like ISOC transfers are used with bInterval
of 1 which doesn't require the link to enter into U1 or U2 state entry
(since ping is issued from host for every uframe interval). In this
case the U1 and U2 entry can be disabled.
Disablement of U1/U2 can be done by setting U1DevExitLat and U2DevExitLat
values to 0 in the BOS descriptor. Host on seeing 0 value for U1DevExitLat
and U2DevExitLat, it doesn't send SET_SEL requests to the gadget. There
may be some hosts which may send SET_SEL requests even after seeing 0 in
the UxDevExitLat of BOS descriptor. To aviod U1/U2 entries for these type
of hosts, dwc3 controller can be programmed to reject those U1/U2 requests
by not enabling ACCEPTUxENA bits in DCTL register.
This patch updates the same.

Currently req->num_trbs is not reset after the TRBs are skipped and
processed from the cancelled list. The gadget driver may reuse the
request with an invalid req->num_trbs, and DWC3 will incorrectly skip
trbs. To fix this, simply reset req->num_trbs to 0 after skipping
through all of them.

On v3.10a in dual-role mode, if port is in device mode
and gadget driver isn't loaded, the OTG event interrupts don't
come through.
It seems that if the core is configured to be OTG2.0 only,
then we can't leave the DCFG.DEVSPD at Super-speed (default)
if we expect OTG to work properly. It must be set to High-speed.
Fix this issue by configuring DCFG.DEVSPD to the supported
maximum speed at gadget init. Device tree still needs to provide
correct supported maximum speed for this to work.
This issue wasn't present on v2.40a but is seen on v3.10a.
It doesn't cause any side effects on v2.40a.

OUT endpoint requests may somtimes have this flag set when
preparing to be submitted to HW indicating that there is an
additional TRB chained to the request for alignment purposes.
If that request is removed before the controller can execute the
transfer (e.g. ep_dequeue/ep_disable), the request will not go
through the dwc3_gadget_ep_cleanup_completed_request() handler
and will not have its needs_extra_trb flag cleared when
dwc3_gadget_giveback() is called. This same request could be
later requeued for a new transfer that does not require an
extra TRB and if it is successfully completed, the cleanup
and TRB reclamation will incorrectly process the additional TRB
which belongs to the next request, and incorrectly advances the
TRB dequeue pointer, thereby messing up calculation of the next
requeust's actual/remaining count when it completes.
The right thing to do here is to ensure that the flag is cleared
before it is given back to the function driver. A good place
to do that is in dwc3_gadget_del_and_unmap_request().

So it looks like folks are interested in dwc3 again. Almost 64% of the
changes are in dwc3 this time around with some other bits in gadget
functions and dwc2.
There are two important parts here: a. removal of the waitqueue from
dwc3's dequeue implementation, which will guarantee that gadget
functions can dequeue from any context and; b. better method for
starting isochronous transfers to avoid, as much as possible, missed
isoc frames.
Apart from these, we have the usual set of non-critical fixes and new
features all over the place.

USB changes for v4.21
So it looks like folks are interested in dwc3 again. Almost 64% of the
changes are in dwc3 this time around with some other bits in gadget
functions and dwc2.
There are two important parts here: a. removal of the waitqueue from
dwc3's dequeue implementation, which will guarantee that gadget
functions can dequeue from any context and; b. better method for
starting isochronous transfers to avoid, as much as possible, missed
isoc frames.
Apart from these, we have the usual set of non-critical fixes and new
features all over the place.

In stream mode, when fast-forwarding TRBs, the stream number
is not cleared causing the new stream to not get assigned. So
we don't want controller to carry on transfers when short packet
is received. So disable the CSP for stream capable endpoint.
This is based on the 3.30a Programming guide, where table 3-1
device descriptor structure field definitions says for CSP bit
If this bit is 0, the controller generates an XferComplete event
and remove the stream. So if we keep CSP as 1 then switching between
streams would not happen as in stream mode, when fast-forwarding
TRBs, the stream number is not cleared causing the new stream to not get
assigned.

Implement the new frame_number API to report the isochronous interval
frame number. This patch checks and reports the interval in which the
isoc transfer was transmitted or received via the Isoc-First TRB SOF
number field.

Availability of TRB's is calculated using dwc3_calc_trbs_left(), which
determines total available TRB's based on the HWO bit set in a TRB.
In the present code, __dwc3_prepare_one_trb() is called with a TRB which
needs to be prepared for transfer. This __dwc3_prepare_one_trb() calls
dwc3_calc_trbs_left() to determine total available TRBs and set IOC bit
if the total available TRBs are zero. Since the present working TRB (which
is passed as an argument to __dwc3_prepare_one_trb() ) doesn't yet have
the HWO bit set before calling dwc3_calc_trbs_left(), there are chances
that dwc3_calc_trbs_left() wrongly calculates this present working TRB
as free(since the HWO bit is not yet set) and returns the total available
TRBs as greater than zero (including the present working TRB). This could
be a problem.
This patch corrects the above mentioned problem in __dwc3_prepare_one_trb()
by increementing the dep->trb_enqueue at the last (after preparing the TRB)
instead of increementing at the start and setting the IOC bit only if the
total available TRBs returned by dwc3_calc_trbs_left() is 1 . Since we are
increementing the dep->trb_enqueue at the last, the present working TRB is
also considered as available by dwc3_calc_trbs_left() and non zero value is
returned . So, according to the modified logic, when the total available
TRBs is equal to 1 that means the total available TRBs in the pool are 0.

Gadget driver may take an unbounded amount of time to queue requests
after XferNotReady. This is important for isochronous endpoints which
need to be started for a specific (micro-)frame.
If we fail to start a transfer for isochronous endpoint, let's try
queueing to a future interval and see if that helps. We will stop trying
if we fail a start transfer for 5 intervals in the future.

Running out of requests on isochronous endpoints is part of normal
operation. We don't really need to know about it every time it
happens.

Sometimes, errors happen when kicking transfers from
__dwc3_gadget_start_isoc(). In those cases, we need to pass along the
error so gadget driver can make informed decisions.

Whenever we have a request in flight, we can move it to the cancelled

Both flags are used for the same purpose in dwc3: appending an extra
TRB at the end to deal with controller requirements. By combining both
flags into one, we make it clear that the situation is the same and
that they should be treated equally.

In DWC_usb31 version 1.70a-ea06 and prior, for highspeed and fullspeed
isochronous IN, BIT[15:14] of the 16-bit microframe number reported by
the XferNotReady event are invalid. The driver uses this number to
schedule the isochronous transfer and passes it to the START TRANSFER
command. Because this number is invalid, the command may fail. If
BIT[15:14] matches the internal 16-bit microframe, the START TRANSFER
command will pass and the transfer will start at the scheduled time, if
it is off by 1, the command will still pass, but the transfer will start
2 seconds in the future. For all other conditions, the START TRANSFER
command will fail with bus-expiry.
In order to workaround this issue, we can test for the correct
combination of BIT[15:14] by sending START TRANSFER commands with
different values of BIT[15:14]: 'b00, 'b01, 'b10, and 'b11. Each
combination is 2^14 uframe apart (or 2 seconds). 4 seconds into the
future will result in a bus-expiry status. As the result, within the 4
possible combinations for BIT[15:14], there will be 2 successful and 2
failure START COMMAND status. One of the 2 successful command status
will result in a 2-second delay start. The smaller BIT[15:14] value is
the correct combination.
Since there are only 4 outcomes and the results are ordered, we can
simply test 2 START TRANSFER commands with BIT[15:14] combinations 'b00
and 'b01 to deduce the smaller successful combination.
Let test0 = test status for combination 'b00 and test1 = test status for
'b01 of BIT[15:14]. The correct combination is as follow:
if test0 fails and test1 passes, BIT[15:14] is 'b01
if test0 fails and test1 fails, BIT[15:14] is 'b10
if test0 passes and test1 fails, BIT[15:14] is 'b11
if test0 passes and test1 passes, BIT[15:14] is 'b00

Current check for the last extra TRB for zero and unaligned transfers
does not account for isoc OUT. The last TRB of the Buffer Descriptor for
isoc OUT transfers will be retired with HWO=0. As a result, we won't
return early. The req->remaining will be updated to include the BUFSIZ
count of the extra TRB, and the actual number of transferred bytes
calculation will be wrong.
To fix this, check whether it's a short or zero packet and the last TRB
chain bit to return early.

dwc3_ep_dequeue() waits for completion of End Transfer command using
wait_event_lock_irq(), which will release the dwc3->lock while waiting
and reacquire after completion. This allows a potential race condition
with ep_disable() which also removes all requests from started_list
and pending_list.
The check for NULL r->trb should catch this but currently it exits to
the wrong 'out1' label which calls dwc3_gadget_giveback(). Since its
list entry was already removed, if CONFIG_DEBUG_LIST is enabled a
'list_del corruption' bug is thrown since its next/prev pointers are
already LIST_POISON1/2. If r->trb is NULL it should simply exit to
'out0'.
