The previous algorithm was pretty broken.
- The inner loop had a '(m > m_max)' condition, and the value of 'm'
would increase in each iteration;
- Each iteration would actually multiply 'm' by two, so it is not needed
to re-compute the whole equation at each iteration;
- It would loop until (m & 1) == 0, which means it would loop at most
once.
- The outer loop would divide the 'n' value by two at the end of each
iteration. This meant that for a 12 MHz parent clock and a 1.2 GHz
requested clock, it would first try n=12, then n=6, then n=3, then
n=1, none of which would work; the only valid value is n=2 in this
case.
Simplify this algorithm with a single for loop, which decrements 'n'
after each iteration, addressing all of the above problems.

The X1000's CGU supplies the I2S system clock to the AIC module
and ultimately the audio codec, represented by the "i2s" clock.
It is a simple mux which can either pass through EXCLK or a PLL
multiplied by a fractional divider (the "i2s_pll" clock).
The AIC contains a separate 1/N divider controlled by the I2S
driver, which generates the bit clock from the system clock.
The frame clock is always fixed to 1/64th of the bit clock.

Access to registers is guarded by ingenic_tcu_{enable,disable}_regs()
so the stop bit can be cleared before accessing a timer channel, but
those functions did not clear the stop bit on SoCs with a global TCU
clock gate.
Testing on the X1000 has revealed that the stop bits must be cleared
_and_ the global TCU clock must be ungated to access timer registers.
This appears to be the norm on Ingenic SoCs, and is specified in the
documentation for the X1000 and numerous JZ47xx SoCs.
If the stop bit isn't cleared, register writes don't take effect and
the system can be left in a broken state, eg. the watchdog timer may
not run.
The bug probably went unnoticed because stop bits are zeroed when
the SoC is reset, and the kernel does not set them unless a timer
gets disabled at runtime. However, it is possible that a bootloader
or a previous kernel (if using kexec) leaves the stop bits set and
we should not rely on them being cleared.
Fixing this is easy: have ingenic_tcu_{enable,disable}_regs() always
clear the stop bit, regardless of the presence of a global TCU gate.

The TCU clock gate on X1000 wasn't requested by the driver and could
be gated automatically later on in boot, which prevents timers from
running and breaks PWM.
Add a workaround to support old device trees that don't specify the
"tcu" clock gate. In this case the kernel will print a warning and
attempt to continue without the clock, which is wrong, but it could
work if "clk_ignore_unused" is in the kernel arguments.

Consider CPU, L2 cache, and memory clocks as critical to prevent
them -- and the parent clocks -- from being automatically gated,
since nothing calls clk_get() on these clocks.
Gating the CPU clock hangs the processor, and gating memory makes
external DRAM inaccessible. Normal kernel code can't hope to deal
with either situation so those clocks have to be critical.
The L2 cache is required only if caches are running, and could be
gated if the kernel takes care to flush and disable caches before
gating the clock. There's no mechanism to do this, and probably no
reason to do it, so it's simpler to mark the L2 cache as critical.

Two fixes in one:
- In the "impose hardware constraints" block, the "logical" divider
value (aka. not translated to the hardware) was clamped to fit in the
register area, but this totally ignored the fact that the divider
value can itself have a fixed divider.
- The code that made sure that the divider value returned by the
function was a multiple of its own fixed divider could result in a
wrong value being calculated, because it was rounded down instead of
rounded up.

When a clock is declared as both CGU_CLK_DIV and CGU_CLK_MUX, the CGU
code expects the mux to be applied first, the divider second.
On the JZ4760, and maybe on some other SoCs, some clocks also have a mux
setting and a divider, but the divider is not applied to all parents
selectable from the mux.
This could be solved by creating two clocks, one with CGU_CLK_DIV and
one with CGU_CLK_MUX, but that would increase the number of clocks.
Instead, add a 8-bit mask to CGU_CLK_DIV clocks. If the bit
corresponding to the parent clock's index is set, the divider is
bypassed.

By using CLK_OF_DECLARE_DRIVER instead of the CLK_OF_DECLARE macro, we
allow the driver to probe also as a platform driver.
While this driver does not have code to probe as a platform driver, this
is still useful for probing children devices in the case where the
device node is compatible with "simple-mfd".

The code was setting the bit 21 of the CPCCR register to use a divider
of 2 for the "pll half" clock, and clearing the bit to use a divider
of 1.
This is the opposite of how this register field works: a cleared bit
means that the /2 divider is used, and a set bit means that the divider
is 1.
Restore the correct behaviour using the newly introduced .div_table
field.

side. The two main highlights in the core framework are the addition of an bulk
clk_get API that handles optional clks and an extra debugfs file that tells the
developer about the current parent of a clk.
The driver updates are dominated by i.MX in the diffstat, but that is mostly
because that SoC has started converting to the clk_hw style of clk
registration. The next big update is in the Amlogic meson clk driver that
gained some support for audio, cpu, and temperature clks while fixing some PLL
issues. Finally, the biggest thing that stands out is the conversion of a large
part of the Allwinner sunxi-ng driver to the new clk parent scheme that uses
less strings and more pointer comparisons to match clk parents and children up.
In general, it looks like we have a lot of little fixes and tweaks here and
there to clk data along with the normal addition of a handful of new drivers
and a couple new core framework features.
Core:
- Add a 'clk_parent' file in clk debugfs
- Add a clk_bulk_get_optional() API (with devm too)
New Drivers:
- Support gated clk controller on MIPS based BCM63XX SoCs
- Support SiLabs Si5341 and Si5340 chips
- Support for CPU clks on Raspberry Pi devices
- Audsys clock driver for MediaTek MT8516 SoCs
Updates:
- Convert a large portion of the Allwinner sunxi-ng driver to new clk parent scheme
- Small frequency support for SiLabs Si544 chips
- Slow clk support for AT91 SAM9X60 SoCs
- Remove dead code in various clk drivers (-Wunused)
- Support for Marvell 98DX1135 SoCs
- Get duty cycle of generic pwm clks
- Improvement in mmc phase calculation and cleanup of some rate defintions
- Switch i.MX6 and i.MX7 clock drivers to clk_hw based APIs
- Add GPIO, SNVS and GIC clocks for i.MX8 drivers
- Mark imx6sx/ul/ull/sll MMDC_P1_IPG and imx8mm DRAM_APB as critical clock
- Correct imx7ulp nic1_bus_clk and imx8mm audio_pll2_clk clock setting
- Add clks for new Exynos5422 Dynamic Memory Controller driver
- Clock definition for Exynos4412 Mali
- Add CMM (Color Management Module) clocks on Renesas R-Car H3, M3-N, E3, and D3
- Add TPU (Timer Pulse Unit / PWM) clocks on Renesas RZ/G2M
- Support for 32 bit clock IDs in TI's sci-clks for J721e SoCs
- TI clock probing done from DT by default instead of firmware
- Fix Amlogic Meson mpll fractional part and spread sprectrum issues
- Add Amlogic meson8 audio clocks
- Add Amlogic g12a temperature sensors clocks
