David S. Miller 9c54aeb03a Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Filling in the padding slot in the bpf structure as a bug fix in 'ne'

David S. Miller b2d6cee117 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
The bpf syscall and selftests conflicts were trivial
overlapping changes.

The r8169 change involved moving the added mdelay from 'net' into a
different function.

A TLS close bug fix overlapped with the splitting of the TLS state
into separate TX and RX parts. I just expanded the tests in the bug
fix from "ctx->conf == X" into "ctx->tx_conf == X && ctx->rx_conf
== X".

Mathias Krause 565f0fa902 xfrm: use a dedicated slab cache for struct xfrm_state
struct xfrm_state is rather large (768 bytes here) and therefore wastes
quite a lot of memory as it falls into the kmalloc-1024 slab cache,
leaving 256 bytes of unused memory per XFRM state object -- a net waste
of 25%.

Using a dedicated slab cache for struct xfrm_state reduces the level of
internal fragmentation to a minimum.

On my configuration SLUB chooses to create a slab cache covering 4
pages holding 21 objects, resulting in an average memory waste of ~13
bytes per object -- a net waste of only 1.6%.

In my tests this led to memory savings of roughly 2.3MB for 10k XFRM
states.

David S. Miller 03fe2debbb Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Fun set of conflict resolutions here...

For the mac80211 stuff, these were fortunately just parallel
adds.  Trivially resolved.

In drivers/net/phy/phy.c we had a bug fix in 'net' that moved the
function phy_disable_interrupts() earlier in the file, whilst in
'net-next' the phy_error() call from this function was removed.

In net/ipv4/xfrm4_policy.c, David Ahern's changes to remove the
'rt_table_id' member of rtable collided with a bug fix in 'net' that
added a new struct member "rt_mtu_locked" which needs to be copied
over here.

The mlxsw driver conflict consisted of net-next separating
the span code and definitions into separate files, whilst
a 'net' bug fix made some changes to that moved code.

The mlx5 infiniband conflict resolution was quite non-trivial,
the RDMA tree's merge commit was used as a guide here, and
here are their notes:

====================

    Due to bug fixes found by the syzkaller bot and taken into the for-rc
    branch after development for the 4.17 merge window had already started
    being taken into the for-next branch, there were fairly non-trivial
    merge issues that would need to be resolved between the for-rc branch
    and the for-next branch. This merge resolves those conflicts and
    provides a unified base upon which ongoing development for 4.17 can
    be based.

    Conflicts:
            drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/main.c - Commit 42cea83f95
            (IB/mlx5: Fix cleanup order on unload) added to for-rc and
            commit b5ca15ad7e (IB/mlx5: Add proper representors support)
            add as part of the devel cycle both needed to modify the
            init/de-init functions used by mlx5. To support the new
            representors, the new functions added by the cleanup patch
            needed to be made non-static, and the init/de-init list
            added by the representors patch needed to be modified to
            match the init/de-init list changes made by the cleanup
            patch.
    Updates:
            drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/mlx5_ib.h - Update function
            prototypes added by representors patch to reflect new function
            names as changed by cleanup patch
            drivers/infiniband/hw/mlx5/ib_rep.c - Update init/de-init
            stage list to match new order from cleanup patch

A recent commit introduced a new struct xfrm_trans_cb
that is used with the sk_buff control buffer. Unfortunately
it placed the structure in front of the control buffer and
overlooked that the IPv4/IPv6 control buffer is still needed

pull request (net): ipsec 2018-03-13

1) Refuse to insert 32 bit userspace socket policies on 64
   bit systems like we do it for standard policies. We don't
   have a compat layer, so inserting socket policies from
   32 bit userspace will lead to a broken configuration.

2) Make the policy hold queue work without the flowcache.
   Dummy bundles are not chached anymore, so we need to
   generate a new one on each lookup as long as the SAs
   are not yet in place.

3) Fix the validation of the esn replay attribute. The
   The sanity check in verify_replay() is bypassed if
   the XFRM_STATE_ESN flag is not set. Fix this by doing
   the sanity check uncoditionally.
   From Florian Westphal.

4) After most of the dst_entry garbage collection code
   is removed, we may leak xfrm_dst entries as they are
   neither cached nor tracked somewhere. Fix this by
   reusing the 'uncached_list' to track xfrm_dst entries
   too. From Xin Long.

5) Fix a rcu_read_lock/rcu_read_unlock imbalance in
   xfrm_get_tos() From Xin Long.

6) Fix an infinite loop in xfrm_get_dst_nexthop. On
   transport mode we fetch the child dst_entry after
   we continue, so this pointer is never updated.
   Fix this by fetching it before we continue.

7) Fix ESN sequence number gap after IPsec GSO packets.
    We accidentally increment the sequence number counter
    on the xfrm_state by one packet too much in the ESN
    case. Fix this by setting the sequence number to the
    correct value.

8) Reset the ethernet protocol after decapsulation only if a
   mac header was set. Otherwise it breaks configurations
   with TUN devices. From Yossi Kuperman.

9) Fix __this_cpu_read() usage in preemptible code. Use
   this_cpu_read() instead in ipcomp_alloc_tfms().

Greg Hackmann 0dcd787602 net: xfrm: use preempt-safe this_cpu_read() in ipcomp_alloc_tfms()
f7c83bcbfa ("net: xfrm: use __this_cpu_read per-cpu helper") added a
__this_cpu_read() call inside ipcomp_alloc_tfms().

At the time, __this_cpu_read() required the caller to either not care
about races or to handle preemption/interrupt issues. 3.15 tightened
the rules around some per-cpu operations, and now __this_cpu_read()
should never be used in a preemptible context. On 3.15 and later, we
need to use this_cpu_read() instead.

syzkaller reported this leading to the following kernel BUG while
fuzzing sendmsg:

fib_net_ops allocates and frees pernet tables, creates/destroys

pernet_operations do not touch them.

ip_rt_proc_ops only modifies pernet /proc entries.

xfrm_net_ops creates/destroys /proc entries, allocates/frees

xfrm4_net_ops allocates/frees private pernet memory, and

sysctl_route_ops creates/destroys sysctls.

rt_genid_ops only initializes fields of just allocated net.

ipv4_inetpeer_ops allocated/frees net private memory.

igmp_net_ops just creates/destroys /proc files and socket,

tcp_sk_ops seems to be safe, because tcp_sk_init() does not
depend on any other pernet_operations modifications. Iteration
over hash table in inet_twsk_purge() is made under RCU lock,
and it's safe to iterate the table this way. Removing from
the table happen from inet_twsk_deschedule_put(), but this
function is safe without any extern locks, as it's synchronized

tcp_net_metrics_ops is synchronized on tcp_metrics_lock and safe.

udplite4_net_ops only creates/destroys pernet /proc file.

icmp_sk_ops creates percpu sockets, not touched by foreign

ipmr_net_ops creates/destroys pernet fib tables, (un)registers
fib rules and /proc files. This seem to be safe to execute

af_inet_ops just sets up default parameters of newly created net.

ipv4_mib_ops creates and destroys pernet percpu statistics.

Florian Westphal d97ca5d714 xfrm_user: uncoditionally validate esn replay attribute struct
The sanity test added in ecd7918745 can be bypassed, validation
only occurs if XFRM_STATE_ESN flag is set, but rest of code doesn't care

So always validate. Alternative is to reject if we have the attribute

Herbert Xu 257a4b018d xfrm: Forbid state updates from changing encap type
Currently we allow state updates to competely replace the contents
of x->encap. This is bad because on the user side ESP only sets up
header lengths depending on encap_type once when the state is first
created. This could result in the header lengths getting out of
sync with the actual state configuration.

In practice key managers will never do a state update to change the
encapsulation type. Only the port numbers need to be changed as the
peer NAT entry is updated.

Therefore this patch adds a check in xfrm_state_update to forbid
any changes to the encap_type.

This adds a check for the required add and delete functions up front

Since both the features check and the registration check are looking

Lastly, for some reason the feature check was setting xfrmdev_ops to

surprise the driver later if the driver turned its NETIF_F_HW_ESP bit

Herbert Xu acf568ee85 xfrm: Reinject transport-mode packets through tasklet
This is an old bugbear of mine:

https://www.mail-archive.com/netdev@vger.kernel.org/msg03894.html

By crafting special packets, it is possible to cause recursion
in our kernel when processing transport-mode packets at levels
that are only limited by packet size.

The easiest one is with DNAT, but an even worse one is where
UDP encapsulation is used in which case you just have to insert
an UDP encapsulation header in between each level of recursion.

This patch avoids this problem by reinjecting tranport-mode packets
through a tasklet.

David Miller 5492093dc4 xfrm: Stop using dst->next in bundle construction.
While building ipsec bundles, blocks of xfrm dsts are linked together
using dst->next from bottom to the top.

The only thing this is used for is initializing the pmtu values of the
xfrm stack, and for updating the mtu values at xfrm_bundle_ok() time.

The bundle pmtu entries must be processed in this order so that pmtu
values lower in the stack of routes can propagate up to the higher
ones.

Avoid using dst->next by simply maintaining an array of dst pointers
as we already do for the xfrm_state objects when building the bundle.

David Miller 0f6c480f23 xfrm: Move dst->path into struct xfrm_dst
The first member of an IPSEC route bundle chain sets it's dst->path to
the underlying ipv4/ipv6 route that carries the bundle.

Stated another way, if one were to follow the xfrm_dst->child chain of
the bundle, the final non-NULL pointer would be the path and point to
either an ipv4 or an ipv6 route.

This is largely used to make sure that PMTU events propagate down to
the correct ipv4 or ipv6 route.

When we don't have the top of an IPSEC bundle 'dst->path == dst'.

Move it down into xfrm_dst and key off of dst->xfrm.

David Miller b6ca8bd5a9 xfrm: Move child route linkage into xfrm_dst.
XFRM bundle child chains look like this:

	xdst1 --> xdst2 --> xdst3 --> path_dst

All of xdstN are xfrm_dst objects and xdst->u.dst.xfrm is non-NULL.
The final child pointer in the chain, here called 'path_dst', is some
other kind of route such as an ipv4 or ipv6 one.

The xfrm output path pops routes, one at a time, via the child
pointer, until we hit one which has a dst->xfrm pointer which
is NULL.

We can easily preserve the above mechanisms with child sitting
only in the xfrm_dst structure. All children in the chain
before we break out of the xfrm_output() loop have dst->xfrm
non-NULL and are therefore xfrm_dst objects.

Since we break out of the loop when we find dst->xfrm NULL, we
will not try to dereference 'dst' as if it were an xfrm_dst.

Lorenzo Colitti be8f8284cd net: xfrm: allow clearing socket xfrm policies.
Currently it is possible to add or update socket policies, but
not clear them. Therefore, once a socket policy has been applied,
the socket cannot be used for unencrypted traffic.

This patch allows (privileged) users to clear socket policies by
passing in a NULL pointer and zero length argument to the
{IP,IPV6}_{IPSEC,XFRM}_POLICY setsockopts. This results in both
the incoming and outgoing policies being cleared.

The simple approach taken in this patch cannot clear socket
policies in only one direction. If desired this could be added
in the future, for example by continuing to pass in a length of
zero (which currently is guaranteed to return EMSGSIZE) and
making the policy be a pointer to an integer that contains one
of the XFRM_POLICY_{IN,OUT} enum values.

An alternative would have been to interpret the length as a
signed integer and use XFRM_POLICY_IN (i.e., 0) to clear the
input policy and -XFRM_POLICY_OUT (i.e., -1) to clear the output
policy.

Cong Wang 6a53b75932 xfrm: check id proto in validate_tmpl()
syzbot reported a kernel warning in xfrm_state_fini(), which
indicates that we have entries left in the list
net->xfrm.state_all whose proto is zero. And
xfrm_id_proto_match() doesn't consider them as a match with
IPSEC_PROTO_ANY in this case.

Proto with value 0 is probably not a valid value, at least
verify_newsa_info() doesn't consider it valid either.

This patch fixes it by checking the proto value in
validate_tmpl() and rejecting invalid ones, like what iproute2
does in xfrm_xfrmproto_getbyname().

Kees Cook e99e88a9d2 treewide: setup_timer() -> timer_setup()
This converts all remaining cases of the old setup_timer() API into using
timer_setup(), where the callback argument is the structure already
holding the struct timer_list. These should have no behavioral changes,
since they just change which pointer is passed into the callback with
the same available pointers after conversion. It handles the following
examples, in addition to some other variations.

Casting from unsigned long:

    void my_callback(unsigned long data)
    {
        struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data;
    ...
    }
    ...
    setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, ptr);

and forced object casts:

    void my_callback(struct something *ptr)
    {
    ...
    }
    ...
    setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, (unsigned long)ptr);

become:

    void my_callback(struct timer_list *t)
    {
        struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer);
    ...
    }
    ...
    timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);

Direct function assignments:

    void my_callback(unsigned long data)
    {
        struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data;
    ...
    }
    ...
    ptr->my_timer.function = my_callback;

have a temporary cast added, along with converting the args:

    void my_callback(struct timer_list *t)
    {
        struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer);
    ...
    }
    ...
    ptr->my_timer.function = (TIMER_FUNC_TYPE)my_callback;

And finally, callbacks without a data assignment:

    void my_callback(unsigned long data)
    {
    ...
    }
    ...
    setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);

have their argument renamed to verify they're unused during conversion:

    void my_callback(struct timer_list *unused)
    {
    ...
    }
    ...
    timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);

The conversion is done with the following Coccinelle script:

spatch --very-quiet --all-includes --include-headers \
	-I ./arch/x86/include -I ./arch/x86/include/generated \
	-I ./include -I ./arch/x86/include/uapi \

Herbert Xu 0e74aa1d79 xfrm: Copy policy family in clone_policy
The syzbot found an ancient bug in the IPsec code. When we cloned
a socket policy (for example, for a child TCP socket derived from a

in a live policy with a zero family field. This triggers a BUG_ON
check in the af_key code when the cloned policy is retrieved.

This patch fixes it by copying the family field over.

When we do tunnel or beet mode, we pass saddr and daddr from the
template to xfrm_state_find(), this is ok. On transport mode,
we pass the addresses from the flowi, assuming that the IP
addresses (and address family) don't change during transformation.
This assumption is wrong in the IPv4 mapped IPv6 case, packet
is IPv4 and template is IPv6. Fix this by using the addresses
from the template unconditionally.

Florian Westphal cf37966751 xfrm: do unconditional template resolution before pcpu cache check
Stephen Smalley says:
 Since 4.14-rc1, the selinux-testsuite has been encountering sporadic
 failures during testing of labeled IPSEC. git bisect pointed to
 commit ec30d ("xfrm: add xdst pcpu cache").
 The xdst pcpu cache is only checking that the policies are the same,
 but does not validate that the policy, state, and flow match with respect
 to security context labeling.
 As a result, the wrong SA could be used and the receiver could end up
 performing permission checking and providing SO_PEERSEC or SCM_SECURITY
 values for the wrong security context.

This fix makes it so that we always do the template resolution, and
then checks that the found states match those in the pcpu bundle.

This has the disadvantage of doing a bit more work (lookup in state hash
table) if we can reuse the xdst entry (we only avoid xdst alloc/free)
but we don't add a lot of extra work in case we can't reuse.

xfrm_pol_dead() check is removed, reasoning is that
xfrm_tmpl_resolve does all needed checks.

 This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and

 How this work was done:

 Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
 the use cases:
  - file had no licensing information it it.
  - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
  - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

 Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
 where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
 had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

 The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
 a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
 output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
 tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
 base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

 The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
 assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
 results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
 to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
 immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
  - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
  - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
    lines of source
  - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
    lines).

 All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

 The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
 identifiers to apply.

  - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
    considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
    COPYING file license applied.

    For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

    SPDX license identifier                            # files
    ---------------------------------------------------|-------

    and resulted in the first patch in this series.

    If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
    Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:

    SPDX license identifier                            # files
    ---------------------------------------------------|-------
    GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note                        930

    and resulted in the second patch in this series.

  - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
    of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
    any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
    it (per prior point). Results summary:

    SPDX license identifier                            # files
    ---------------------------------------------------|------
    GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note                       270

    ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause)    17

    GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note                       14
    ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause)    5
    LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note                       4
    LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note                        3
    ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT)              3
    ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT)             1

    and that resulted in the third patch in this series.

  - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
    the concluded license(s).

  - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
    license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
    licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

  - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
    resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
    which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

  - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
    confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

  - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
    the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
    in time.

 In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
 spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
 source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
 by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
 FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
 disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
 Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
 they are related.

 Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
 for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
 files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
 in about 15000 files.

 In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
 copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
 correct identifier.

 Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
 inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
 version early this week with:
  - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
    license ids and scores
  - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
    files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
  - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
    was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
    SPDX license was correct

 This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
 worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
 different types of files to be modified.

 These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
 parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
 format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
 based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
 distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
 comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
 generate the patches.

Jonathan Basseri 2b06cdf3e6 xfrm: Clear sk_dst_cache when applying per-socket policy.
If a socket has a valid dst cache, then xfrm_lookup_route will get
skipped. However, the cache is not invalidated when applying policy to a
socket (i.e. IPV6_XFRM_POLICY). The result is that new policies are
sometimes ignored on those sockets. (Note: This was broken for IPv4 and
IPv6 at different times.)

This can be demonstrated like so,
1. Create UDP socket.
2. connect() the socket.
3. Apply an outbound XFRM policy to the socket. (setsockopt)
4. send() data on the socket.

Packets will continue to be sent in the clear instead of matching an
xfrm or returning a no-match error (EAGAIN). This affects calls to
send() and not sendto().

Invalidating the sk_dst_cache is necessary to correctly apply xfrm
policies. Since we do this in xfrm_user_policy(), the sk_lock was
already acquired in either do_ip_setsockopt() or do_ipv6_setsockopt(),
and we may call __sk_dst_reset().

Performance impact should be negligible, since this code is only called
when changing xfrm policy, and only affects the socket in question.

Herbert Xu 1137b5e252 ipsec: Fix aborted xfrm policy dump crash
An independent security researcher, Mohamed Ghannam, has reported
this vulnerability to Beyond Security's SecuriTeam Secure Disclosure
program.

The xfrm_dump_policy_done function expects xfrm_dump_policy to
have been called at least once or it will crash. This can be
triggered if a dump fails because the target socket's receive

While removing dst_entry garbage collection, commit 52df157f17

However, it did not delete the dst_hold performed by xfrm_lookup

a refcount of 2, and are not freed when no longer in use.

Lorenzo Colitti 077fbac405 net: xfrm: support setting an output mark.
On systems that use mark-based routing it may be necessary for
routing lookups to use marks in order for packets to be routed
correctly. An example of such a system is Android, which uses
socket marks to route packets via different networks.

Currently, routing lookups in tunnel mode always use a mark of
zero, making routing incorrect on such systems.

This patch adds a new output_mark element to the xfrm state and
a corresponding XFRMA_OUTPUT_MARK netlink attribute. The output
mark differs from the existing xfrm mark in two ways:

1. The xfrm mark is used to match xfrm policies and states, while
   the xfrm output mark is used to set the mark (and influence
   the routing) of the packets emitted by those states.
2. The existing mark is constrained to be a subset of the bits of
   the originating socket or transformed packet, but the output
   mark is arbitrary and depends only on the state.

The use of a separate mark provides additional flexibility. For
example:

- A packet subject to two transforms (e.g., transport mode inside
  tunnel mode) can have two different output marks applied to it,
  one for the transport mode SA and one for the tunnel mode SA.
- On a system where socket marks determine routing, the packets
  emitted by an IPsec tunnel can be routed based on a mark that
  is determined by the tunnel, not by the marks of the
  unencrypted packets.
- Support for setting the output marks can be introduced without
  breaking any existing setups that employ both mark-based
  routing and xfrm tunnel mode. Simply changing the code to use
  the xfrm mark for routing output packets could xfrm mark could
  change behaviour in a way that breaks these setups.

If the output mark is unspecified or set to zero, the mark is not
set or changed.

needed so we do not add long hangs when a device is dismantled but some
pcpu xdst still holds a reference, there are also calls to the flush
operation when userspace deletes SAs so modules can be removed
(there is no hit.

We need to run the dst_release on the correct cpu to avoid races with
packet path. This is done by adding a work_struct for each cpu and then
doing the actual test/release on each affected cpu via schedule_work_on().

Test results using 4 network namespaces and null encryption:

ns1           ns2          -> ns3           -> ns4
netperf -> xfrm/null enc   -> xfrm/null dec -> netserver

Wei Wang a4c2fd7f78 net: remove DST_NOCACHE flag
DST_NOCACHE flag check has been removed from dst_release() and
dst_hold_safe() in a previous patch because all the dst are now ref
counted properly and can be released based on refcnt only.
Looking at the rest of the DST_NOCACHE use, all of them can now be
removed or replaced with other checks.
So this patch gets rid of all the DST_NOCACHE usage and remove this flag
completely.

Wei Wang b2a9c0ed75 net: remove DST_NOGC flag
Now that all the components have been changed to release dst based on
refcnt only and not depend on dst gc anymore, we can remove the
temporary flag DST_NOGC.

Note that we also need to remove the DST_NOCACHE check in dst_release()
and dst_hold_safe() because now all the dst are released based on refcnt
and behaves as DST_NOCACHE.

Wei Wang 52df157f17 xfrm: take refcnt of dst when creating struct xfrm_dst bundle
During the creation of xfrm_dst bundle, always take ref count when
allocating the dst. This way, xfrm_bundle_create() will form a linked
list of dst with dst->child pointing to a ref counted dst child. And
the returned dst pointer is also ref counted. This makes the link from
the flow cache to this dst now ref counted properly.
As the dst is always ref counted properly, we can safely mark
DST_NOGC flag so dst_release() will release dst based on refcnt only.
And dst gc is no longer needed and all dst_free() and its related
function calls should be replaced with dst_release() or
dst_release_immediate().

The special handling logic for dst->child in dst_destroy() can be
replaced with a simple dst_release_immediate() call on the child to
release the whole list linked by dst->child pointer.
Previously used DST_NOHASH flag is not needed anymore as well. The
reason that DST_NOHASH is used in the existing code is mainly to prevent
the dst inserted in the fib tree to be wrongly destroyed during the
deletion of the xfrm_dst bundle. So in the existing code, DST_NOHASH
flag is marked in all the dst children except the one which is in the
fib tree.
However, with this patch series to remove dst gc logic and release dst
only based on ref count, it is safe to release all the children from a
xfrm_dst bundle as long as the dst children are all ref counted
properly which is already the case in the existing code.
So, this patch removes the use of DST_NOHASH flag.

Hangbin Liu 138437f591 xfrm: move xfrm_garbage_collect out of xfrm_policy_flush
Now we will force to do garbage collection if any policy removed in
xfrm_policy_flush(). But during xfrm_net_exit(). We call flow_cache_fini()
first and set set fc->percpu to NULL. Then after we call xfrm_policy_fini()
-> frxm_policy_flush() -> flow_cache_flush(), we will get NULL pointer

flow_cache_fini()
  - fc->percpu = NULL
xfrm_policy_fini()
  - xfrm_policy_flush()
    - xfrm_garbage_collect()
      - flow_cache_flush()
        - flow_cache_percpu_empty()
	  - fcp = per_cpu_ptr(fc->percpu, cpu)

To reproduce, just add ipsec in netns and then remove the netns.

Sabrina Dubroca 9b3eb54106 xfrm: fix stack access out of bounds with CONFIG_XFRM_SUB_POLICY
When CONFIG_XFRM_SUB_POLICY=y, xfrm_dst stores a copy of the flowi for
that dst. Unfortunately, the code that allocates and fills this copy
doesn't care about what type of flowi (flowi, flowi4, flowi6) gets
passed. In multiple code paths (from raw_sendmsg, from TCP when
replying to a FIN, in vxlan, geneve, and gre), the flowi that gets
passed to xfrm is actually an on-stack flowi4, so we end up reading
stuff from the stack past the end of the flowi4 struct.

Since xfrm_dst->origin isn't used anywhere following commit

Xin Long 35db069121 xfrm: do the garbage collection after flushing policy
Now xfrm garbage collection can be triggered by 'ip xfrm policy del'.
These is no reason not to do it after flushing policies, especially
considering that 'garbage collection deferred' is only triggered
when it reaches gc_thresh.

It's no good that the policy is gone but the xdst still hold there.
The worse thing is that xdst->route/orig_dst is also hold and can
not be released even if the orig_dst is already expired.

This patch is to do the garbage collection if there is any policy
removed in xfrm_policy_flush.

David S. Miller 6b633e82b0 Merge branch 'master' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/klassert/ipsec-next
Steffen Klassert says:

====================
pull request (net-next): ipsec-next 2017-04-20

This adds the basic infrastructure for IPsec hardware
offloading, it creates a configuration API and adjusts
the packet path.

1) Add the needed netdev features to configure IPsec offloads.

2) Add the IPsec hardware offloading API.

3) Prepare the ESP packet path for hardware offloading.

4) Add gso handlers for esp4 and esp6, this implements
   the software fallback for GSO packets.

5) Add xfrm replay handler functions for offloading.

6) Change ESP to use a synchronous crypto algorithm on
   offloading, we don't have the option for asynchronous
   returns when we handle IPsec at layer2.

7) Add a xfrm validate function to validate_xmit_skb. This
   implements the software fallback for non GSO packets.

8) Set the inner_network and inner_transport members of
   the SKB, as well as encapsulation, to reflect the actual
   positions of these headers, and removes them only once
   encryption is done on the payload.
   From Ilan Tayari.

9) Prepare the ESP GRO codepath for hardware offloading.

10) Fix incorrect null pointer check in esp6.
    From Colin Ian King.

11) Fix for the GSO software fallback path to detect the
    fallback correctly.
    From Ilan Tayari.

Please pull or let me know if there are problems.

Ilan Tayari f1bd7d659e xfrm: Add encapsulation header offsets while SKB is not encrypted
Both esp4 and esp6 used to assume that the SKB payload is encrypted
and therefore the inner_network and inner_transport offsets are
not relevant.
When doing crypto offload in the NIC, this is no longer the case
and the NIC driver needs these offsets so it can do TX TCP checksum
offloading.
This patch sets the inner_network and inner_transport members of
the SKB, as well as encapsulation, to reflect the actual positions
of these headers, and removes them only once encryption is done
on the payload.

Steffen Klassert f6e27114a6 net: Add a xfrm validate function to validate_xmit_skb
When we do IPsec offloading, we need a fallback for
packets that were targeted to be IPsec offloaded but
rerouted to a device that does not support IPsec offload.
For that we add a function that checks the offloading
features of the sending device and and flags the
requirement of a fallback before it calls the IPsec
output function. The IPsec output function adds the IPsec
trailer and does encryption if needed.

Andy Whitcroft 677e806da4 xfrm_user: validate XFRM_MSG_NEWAE XFRMA_REPLAY_ESN_VAL replay_window
When a new xfrm state is created during an XFRM_MSG_NEWSA call we
validate the user supplied replay_esn to ensure that the size is valid
and to ensure that the replay_window size is within the allocated
buffer. However later it is possible to update this replay_esn via a
XFRM_MSG_NEWAE call. There we again validate the size of the supplied
buffer matches the existing state and if so inject the contents. We do
not at this point check that the replay_window is within the allocated
memory. This leads to out-of-bounds reads and writes triggered by
netlink packets. This leads to memory corruption and the potential for
priviledge escalation.

We already attempt to validate the incoming replay information in
xfrm_new_ae() via xfrm_replay_verify_len(). This confirms that the user
is not trying to change the size of the replay state buffer which
includes the replay_esn. It however does not check the replay_window
remains within that buffer. Add validation of the contained
replay_window.

Problem is that when we get error during xfrm_net_init we will call
xfrm_policy_fini which will acquire xfrm_policy_lock before it was
initialized. Just move it around so locks get set up first.

Florian Westphal 3819a35fdb xfrm: fix possible null deref in xfrm_init_tempstate
Dan reports following smatch warning:
 net/xfrm/xfrm_state.c:659
 error: we previously assumed 'afinfo' could be null (see line 651)

 649  struct xfrm_state_afinfo *afinfo = xfrm_state_afinfo_get_rcu(family);
 651  if (afinfo)
		...
 658  }
 659  afinfo->init_temprop(x, tmpl, daddr, saddr);

I am resonably sure afinfo cannot be NULL here.

xfrm_state4.c and state6.c are both part of ipv4/ipv6 (depends on
CONFIG_XFRM, a boolean) but even if ipv6 is a module state6.c can't
be removed (ipv6 lacks module_exit so it cannot be removed).

The only callers for xfrm6_fini that leads to state backend unregister
are error unwinding paths that can be called during ipv6 init function.

So after ipv6 module is loaded successfully the state backend cannot go
away anymore.

The family value from policy lookup path is taken from dst_entry, so
that should always be AF_INET(6).

However, since this silences the warning and avoids readers of this
code wondering about possible null deref it seems preferrable to
be defensive and just add the old check back.

Florian Westphal 711059b975 xfrm: add and use xfrm_state_afinfo_get_rcu
xfrm_init_tempstate is always called from within rcu read side section.
We can thus use a simpler function that doesn't call rcu_read_lock

While at it, also make xfrm_init_tempstate return value void, the
return value was never tested.

A followup patch will replace remaining callers of xfrm_state_get_afinfo

Florian Westphal b3b73b8e6d xfrm: state: do not acquire lock in get_mtu helpers
Once flow cache gets removed the mtu initialisation happens for every skb
that gets an xfrm attached, so this lock starts to show up in perf.

It is not obvious why this lock is required -- the caller holds
reference on the state struct, type->destructor is only called from the
state gc worker (all state structs on gc list must have refcount 0).

xfrm_init_state already has been called (else private data accessed
by type->get_mtu() would not be set up).

So just remove the lock -- the race on the state (DEAD?) doesn't
matter (could change right after dropping the lock too).

  The whole exercise removed about 2000 lines of code in total and in

  usage sites can exercise all transitions extensively.

  There is more room for improvement, like integrating all the

David S. Miller 2745529ac7 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Couple conflicts resolved here:

1) In the MACB driver, a bug fix to properly initialize the
   RX tail pointer properly overlapped with some changes
   to support variable sized rings.

2) In XGBE we had a "CONFIG_PM" --> "CONFIG_PM_SLEEP" fix
   overlapping with a reorganization of the driver to support
   ACPI, OF, as well as PCI variants of the chip.

3) In 'net' we had several probe error path bug fixes to the
   stmmac driver, meanwhile a lot of this code was cleaned up
   and reorganized in 'net-next'.

4) The cls_flower classifier obtained a helper function in
   'net-next' called __fl_delete() and this overlapped with
   Daniel Borkamann's bug fix to use RCU for object destruction
   in 'net'. It also overlapped with Jiri's change to guard
   the rhashtable_remove_fast() call with a check against
   tc_skip_sw().

5) In mlx4, a revert bug fix in 'net' overlapped with some
   unrelated changes in 'net-next'.

6) In geneve, a stale header pointer after pskb_expand_head()
   bug fix in 'net' overlapped with a large reorganization of
   the same code in 'net-next'. Since the 'net-next' code no
   longer had the bug in question, there was nothing to do
   other than to simply take the 'net-next' hunks.
