Rather than having the caller of .get_config() set output_types based on
encoder->type, let's just have .get_config() itself populate
output_types. This way we are isolated from encoder->type, which won't
be useable for this purpose anyway soon (at least for DDI encoders).

The enable/disable/etc. encoder hooks aren't supposed to alter the
state(s), so pass them as const. Unfortunately C lacks any kind of deep
const thingy, so this can't catch all abuses. But at least it acts as a
hint to the reader telling them not to mess about with the state(s).

It's dead code, the core handles all this directly now.
The only special case is nouveau and tda988x which used one function
for both legacy modeset code and -nv50 atomic world instead of 2
vtables. But amounts to exactly the same.

It's dead code, the core handles all this directly now. This also
allows us to unexport drm_atomic_helper_connector_set_property.
The only special case is nouveau which used one function for both
pre-nv50 legacy modeset code and post-nv50 atomic world instead of 2
vtables. But amounts to exactly the same.
What is rather strange here is how few drivers set this up, I suspect
the earlier patch to handle properties in the core did end up fixing a
pile of possible issues.

mode_valid() called from drm_helper_probe_single_connector_modes()
may need to look at connector->state because what a valid mode is may
depend on connector properties being set. For example some HDMI modes
might be rejected when a connector property forces the connector
into DVI mode.
Some implementations of detect() already lock all state,
so we have to pass an acquire_ctx to them to prevent a deadlock.
This means changing the function signature of detect() slightly,
and passing the acquire_ctx for locking multiple crtc's.
For the callbacks, it will always be non-zero. To allow callers
not to worry about this, drm_helper_probe_detect_ctx is added
which might handle -EDEADLK for you.

Pass dev_priv to intel_setup_outputs() and functions called by it, since
those are all intel i915 specific functions. Also, in the majority of
the functions dev_priv is used more often than dev. In the rare cases
where there are a few calls back into drm core, a local dev variable was
added.

Intel DZ77BH-55K board doest't have a physical VGA connector,
and yet it always detects that something is connected there.
Add it to the DMI blacklist to ignore the spurious detection
results.
Allows me to drop 'video=VGA-1:d' from my kernel cmdline.

Having a shadow VGA connector is useful for testing purposes. We
currently skip registering the connector on machines where the
CRT detect falsely reports it as connected. Let's instead move the
the blacklist check to the detect callback (and hpd setup) and
if we get a match we always report the connector as disconnected.
This way we get a shadow VGA connector to help with testing, while
we still avoid the user facing problems from the incorrect
detection results.
commit 8ca4013d70 ("CHROMIUM: i915: Add DMI override to skip CRT
initialization on ZGB") doesn't provide much in the way of details
as to why 'ACER ZGB' was added to the blacklist. Trying to trace it
further leads me to a chromeos bugreport I can't access. So based on
the fact that the commit added the
"/* Skip machines without VGA that falsely report hotplug events */"
comment, I'm going to assume that it was just spurious CRT detection.
So it should be safe to move the blacklist to just block the detection
and hpd without causing a regression on said machine.
In fact Stéphane confirmed on irc that the problem was indeed just
crappy hotplug detect:
"22:29 < marcheu> vsyrjala: the port isn't there, but the load detect is
improperly stubbed in hw
22:29 < marcheu> vsyrjala: so it floats"
so this change should be perfectly fine.

Storing the port enum in intel_encoder makes it convenient to know the
port attached to an encoder. Moving the port information up from
intel_digital_port to intel_encoder avoids unecessary intel_digital_port
access and handles MST encoders cleanly without requiring conditional
checks for them (thanks danvet).

This is mostly code churn, with exception of a few places:
- intel_display.c has changes in intel_sanitize_encoder
- intel_ddi.c has intel_ddi_fdi_disable calling intel_ddi_post_disable,
and required a function change. Also affects intel_display.c
- intel_dp_mst.c passes a NULL crtc_state and conn_state to
intel_ddi_post_disable for shutting down the real encoder.
If we would pass conn_state, then conn_state->connector !=
intel_dig_port->connector and conn_state->best_encoder !=
to_intel_encoder(intel_dig_port).
We also shouldn't pass crtc_state, because in that case the
disabling sequence may potentially be different depending on
which crtc is disabled last. Nice way to introduce bugs.
No other functional changes are done, diff stat is already huge.
Each encoder type will need to be fixed to use the atomic states
separately.

One of the things preventing us from using polling is the fact that
calling valleyview_crt_detect_hotplug() when there's a VGA cable
connected results in sending another hotplug. With polling enabled when
HPD is disabled, this results in a scenario like this:
- We enable power wells and reset the ADPA
- output_poll_exec does force probe on VGA, triggering a hpd
- HPD handler waits for poll to unlock dev->mode_config.mutex
- output_poll_exec shuts off the ADPA, unlocks dev->mode_config.mutex
- HPD handler runs, resets ADPA and brings us back to the start
This results in an endless irq storm getting sent from the ADPA
whenever a VGA connector gets detected in the middle of polling.
Somewhat based off of the "drm/i915: Disable CRT HPD around force
trigger" patch Ville Syrjälä sent a while back

While VGA hotplugging worked(ish) before, it looks like that was mainly
because we'd unintentionally enable it in
valleyview_crt_detect_hotplug() when we did a force trigger. This
doesn't work reliably enough because whenever the display powerwell on
vlv gets disabled, the values set in VLV_ADPA get cleared and
consequently VGA hotplugging gets disabled. This causes bugs such as one
we found on an Intel NUC, where doing the following sequence of
hotplugs:
- Disconnect all monitors
- Connect VGA
- Disconnect VGA
- Connect HDMI
Would result in VGA hotplugging becoming disabled, due to the powerwells
getting toggled in the process of connecting HDMI.

By using the out-of-line intel_wait_for_register() not only do we can
efficiency from using the hybrid wait_for() contained within, but we
avoid code bloat from the numerous inlined loops, in total (all patches):

Currently the backlight is being registered in the load phase (before
the display and its objects are registered). Move the backlight
registration into the analogous phase by performing it from the
connector registration, just after its creation.

We now have a connector->func that serves the same purpose as our own
intel_connector->unregister vfunc allowing us to unwrap ourselves and
use drm_connector_register() (and friends) as the central function.

For all outputs except dp_mst, we have a 1:1 relationship between
connectors and encoders and the driver is relying on the atomic helpers:
we can drop the custom ->best_encoder() implementation and let the core
call drm_atomic_helper_best_encoder() for us.

something that actually identifies the piece of hardware we're dealing
with.

LPT is pch, so might run into the fdi bandwidth constraint (especially
since it has only 2 lanes). But right now we just force pipe_bpp back
to 24, resulting in a nice loop (which we bail out with a loud
WARN_ON). Fix this.

Move the code for selecting and configuring HSW/BDW DDI PLLs into the
shared dpll infrastructure. With this most of the PLL selection logic
for those platforms is in one place. DisplayPort is handled separately,
but that should be fixed on a follow up patch. It also allows a small
clean up of the SPLL logic.

LPT/WPT-H are limited to max 180 MHz CRT dotclock. Most other platforms
have a limit of 350 MHz. Supposedly gen3 and gen4 go up to 400 MHz.
VLV is a bit special since the docs are poor. Supposedly the DAC
would be good up to 355 MHz, but currently we limit the DPLL to
270 MHz, so we'll have to limit the port clock to the same unless
we change the DPLL limits.

Rather than assume the VGA dotclock is really the FDI based thing,
let's read out the real thing via iclkip, and after readout it'll
get to compare it with the FDI based number to make sure they're
in sync.
