Christian König c42ee39c1e dma-buf: handle empty dma_fence_arrays gracefully
A bug inside the new sync-file merge code created empty dma_fence_array instances.

Warn about that and handle those without crashing.

Christian König caaf2ae712 dma-buf: Add dma_fence_array_for_each (v2)
Add a helper to iterate over all fences in a dma_fence_array object.

v2 (Jason Ekstrand)
 - Return NULL from dma_fence_array_first if head == NULL. This matches
   the iterator behavior of dma_fence_chain_for_each in that it iterates
   zero times if head == NULL.
 - Return NULL from dma_fence_array_next if index > array->num_fences.

Christian König 0fd9803b98 dma-buf: warn about dma_fence_array container rules v2
It's not allowed to nest another dma_fence container into a dma_fence_array
or otherwise we can run into recursion.

Warn about that when we create a dma_fence_array.

v2: fix comment style and typo in the warning pointed out by Thomas

Thomas Hellström 95d3583888 dma_fence_array: Fix PENDING_ERROR leak in dma_fence_array_signaled()
If a dma_fence_array is reported signaled by a call to
dma_fence_is_signaled(), it may leak the PENDING_ERROR status.

Fix this by clearing the PENDING_ERROR status if we return true in
dma_fence_array_signaled().

Chris Wilson 1f70b8b812 dma-fence: Propagate errors to dma-fence-array container
When one of the array of fences is signaled, propagate its errors to the
parent fence-array (keeping the first error to be raised).

v2: Opencode cmpxchg_local to avoid compiler freakout.
v3: Be careful not to flag an error if we race against signal-on-any.
v4: Same applies to installing the signal cb.
v5: Use cmpxchg to only set the error once before using a nifty idea by
Christian to avoid changing the status after emitting the signal.

Chris Wilson 03e4e0a9e0 dma-buf/fence: Fix lock inversion within dma-fence-array
Ages ago Rob Clark noted,

"Currently with fence-array, we have a potential deadlock situation. If
we fence_add_callback() on an array-fence, the array-fence's lock is
acquired first, and in it's ->enable_signaling() callback, it will install
cbs on it's array-member fences, so the array-member's lock is acquired
second.

But in the signal path, the array-member's lock is acquired first, and
the array-fence's lock acquired second."

Rob proposed either extensive changes to dma-fence to unnest the
fence-array signaling, or to defer the signaling onto a workqueue. This
is a more refined version of the later, that should keep the latency
of the fence signaling to a minimum by using an irq-work, which is
executed asap.

Chris Wilson f54d186700 dma-buf: Rename struct fence to dma_fence
I plan to usurp the short name of struct fence for a core kernel struct,
and so I need to rename the specialised fence/timeline for DMA
operations to make room.

A consensus was reached in
https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dri-devel/2016-July/113083.html
that making clear this fence applies to DMA operations was a good thing.
Since then the patch has grown a bit as usage increases, so hopefully it
remains a good thing!

(v2...: rebase, rerun spatch)
v3: Compile on msm, spotted a manual fixup that I broke.
v4: Try again for msm, sorry Daniel
