The callback used to merge the common code of the qbuf/prepare_buf
code can be removed now that the mmap_sem handling is pushed down to
__buf_prepare(). This makes the code more readable.

Rather than taking the mmap semaphore at a relatively high-level function,
push it down to the place where it is really needed.
It was placed in vb2_queue_or_prepare_buf() to prevent racing with other
vb2 calls. The only way I can see that a race can happen is when two
threads queue the same buffer. The solution for that it to introduce
a PREPARING state.
Moving it down offers opportunities to simplify the code.

Commit dc77523c5d ensured that m.offset is
only set for the MMAP memory mode by calling __setup_offsets only for that
mode.
However, __setup_offsets also initializes the length fields, and that should
be done regardless of the memory mode. Because of that change the v4l2-ctl
test application fails for the USERPTR mode.
This fix creates a __setup_lengths function that sets the length, and
__setup_offsets just sets the offset and no longer touches the length.

__qbuf_dmabuf checks whether size of provided dmabuf is large
enough, and it returns error without any log. So this patch adds

According to the doc:
If VIDIOC_STREAMON is called when streaming is already in progress,
or if VIDIOC_STREAMOFF is called when streaming is already stopped,
then the ioctl does nothing and 0 is returned.
The current implementation was returning -EINVAL instead.

during the same merge window affected the development
productivity, as several core media developers participated on

__setup_offsets fills the v4l2_planes' mem_offset fields, which is only valid
for V4L2_MEMORY_MMAP type buffers. For V4L2_MEMORY_DMABUF and _USERPTR buffers,
this incorrectly overwrites the fd and userptr fields.

Modify the bytesused/data_offset check to not fail if both bytesused
and data_offset is set to 0. This should minimize possible issues in
existing applications which worked before we enforced the plane lengths
for output buffers checks introduced in commit 8023ed09cb

For output buffers application provide to the kernel the number of bytes
they stored in each plane of the buffer. Verify that the value is
smaller than or equal to the plane length.

The vb2_fop_mmap() and vb2_fop_get_unmapped_area() functions are plug-in
implementation of the mmap() and get_unmapped_area() file operations
that calls vb2_mmap() and vb2_get_unmapped_area() on the queue
associated with the video device. Neither the
vb2_fop_mmap/vb2_fop_get_unmapped_area nor the
v4l2_mmap/vb2_get_unmapped_area functions in the V4L2 core take any
lock, leading to race conditions between mmap/get_unmapped_area and
other buffer-related ioctls such as VIDIOC_REQBUFS.
Fix it by taking the queue or device lock around the vb2_mmap() and
vb2_get_unmapped_area() calls.

The vb2_poll() does not need to wait next vb_buffer_done() if there is already
a buffer in done_list of queue, but current vb2_poll() always waits.
So done_list is checked before calling poll_wait().

Memory maps typically require that the buffer size to be page
aligned. Currently, two memops drivers do such alignment
internally, but videobuf-vmalloc doesn't.
Also, the buffer overflow check doesn't take it into account.
So, instead of doing it at each memops driver, enforce it at
VB2 core.

Some drivers have special memory requirements for their buffers, usually
related to DMA (e.g. GFP_DMA or __GFP_DMA32). Make it possible to specify
additional GFP flags for those buffers by adding a gfp_flags field to
vb2_queue.
Note that this field will be replaced in the future with a different
mechanism, but that is still work in progress and we need this feature
now so we won't be able to convert drivers with such requirements to vb2.

Not all drivers use monotonic timestamps. This patch adds a way to set the
timestamp type per every queue.
In addition, set proper timestamp type in drivers that I am sure that use
either MONOTONIC or COPY timestamps. Other drivers will correctly report
UNKNOWN timestamp type instead of assuming that all drivers use monotonic
timestamps.

If you only poll for events, then vb2_poll will return POLLPRI | POLLERR if
no streaming is in progress. That's not right, it's perfectly valid to
poll just for events.

Single-planar V4L2 buffers are converted to multi-planar vb2 buffers
with a single plane when queued. The plane data_offset field is not

This patch adds support for DMABUF memory type in videobuf2. It calls relevant
APIs of dma_buf for v4l reqbuf / qbuf / dqbuf operations.
For this version, the support is for videobuf2 as a user of the shared buffer;
so the allocation of the buffer is done outside of V4L2. [A sample allocator of
dma-buf shared buffer is given at [1]]

The plane verification should be done before actually queuing or
dequeuing buffers, so move it out of __fill_v4l2_buffer and __fill_vb_buffer
and call it as a separate step.
This also makes it possible to change the return type of __fill_v4l2/vb_buffer
to void.
The dqbuf case took some special care: before removing a buffer from the
done_list you have to verify that the receiving v4l2_buffer has enough room
for all the planes. The number of planes can differ between buffers due to the
fact that buffers for other formats can be prepared using VIDIOC_PREPARE_BUF.

This replaces BUG_ON() calls with WARN_ON(), and returns
EINVAL if some parameter is NULL, as suggested by Jonathan and Mauro.
The BUG_ON() call is too drastic to be used in this case.

Check against q->fileio to see if the queue owner should be set or not.
The former check against the return value of read or write is wrong, since
read/write can return an error, even if the queue is in streaming mode.
For example, EAGAIN when in non-blocking mode.
