Rikard Falkeborn cb9e880a79 mfd: stmpe: Revert "Constify static struct resource"
In stmpe_devices_init(), the start and end field of these structs are
modified, so they can not be const. Add a comment to those structs that
lacked it to reduce the risk that this happens again.

This reverts commit 8d7b3a6dac.

Wei Yongjun c4d09226d5 mfd: arizona: Make some symbols static
The sparse tool complains as follows:

drivers/mfd/arizona-spi.c:28:31: warning:
 symbol 'reset_gpios' was not declared. Should it be static?
drivers/mfd/arizona-spi.c:29:31: warning:
 symbol 'ldoena_gpios' was not declared. Should it be static?

Those symbols are not used outside of arizona-spi.c, so this
commit marks them static.

Matti Vaittinen 316d0d92fb mfd: bd718x7: simplify by cleaning unnecessary device data
Most ROHM PMIC sub-devices only use the regmap pointer from
parent device. They can obtain this by dev_get_regamap so in
most cases the MFD device does not need to allocate and populate
the driver data. Simplify drivers by removing this.

The BD70528 still needs the access to watchdog mutex so keep
rohm_regmap_dev in use on BD70528 RTC and WDG drivers for now.

Krzysztof Kozlowski cd5f39070a mfd: altera: merge ARCH_SOCFPGA and ARCH_STRATIX10
Simplify 32-bit and 64-bit Intel SoCFPGA Kconfig options by having only
one for both of them. This the common practice for other platforms.
Additionally, the ARCH_SOCFPGA is too generic as SoCFPGA designs come
from multiple vendors.

The side effect is that the MFD_ALTERA_A10SR will now be available for
both 32-bit and 64-bit Intel SoCFPGA, even though it is used only for

The global definition of platform data for the battery

move the <linux/mfd/abx500/ab8500-bm.h> to be a local

Matti Vaittinen 0e9692607f mfd: bd9576: Add IRQ support
BD9573 and BD9576 support set of "protection" interrupts for "fatal"
issues. Those lead to SOC reset as PMIC shuts the power outputs. Thus
there is no relevant IRQ handling for them.

Few "detection" interrupts were added to the BD9576 with the idea that
SOC could take some recovery-action before error gets unrecoverable.

Unfortunately the BD9576 interrupt logic was not re-evaluated. IRQs
are not designed to be properly acknowleged - and IRQ line is kept
active for whole duration of error condition (in comparison to
informing only about state change).

For above reason, do not consider missing IRQ as error.

Andy Shevchenko ef3c67b645 mfd: intel_msic: Remove driver for deprecated platform
Intel Moorestown and Medfield are quite old Intel Atom based
32-bit platforms, which were in limited use in some Android phones,
tablets and consumer electronics more than eight years ago.

There are no bugs or problems ever reported outside from Intel
for breaking any of that platforms for years. It seems no real
users exists who run more or less fresh kernel on it. Commit
05f4434bc1 ("ASoC: Intel: remove mfld_machine") is also in align
with this theory.

Due to above and to reduce a burden of supporting outdated drivers,
remove the support for outdated platforms completely.

Jeff LaBundy 6a8fac01dc mfd: iqs62x: Do not change clock frequency during ATI
After a reset event, the device automatically triggers ATI at the
default core clock frequency (16 MHz). Soon afterward, the driver
loads firmware which may attempt to lower the frequency.

If this initial ATI cycle is still in progress when the frequency
is changed, however, the device incorrectly reports channels 0, 1
and 2 to be in a state of touch once ATI finally completes.

To solve this problem, wait until ATI is complete before lowering
the frequency. Because this particular ATI cycle occurs following
a reset event, its duration is predictable and a simple delay can
suffice.

Jeff LaBundy 02e550d5b7 mfd: iqs62x: Do not poll during ATI
After loading firmware, the driver triggers ATI (calibration) with
the newly loaded register configuration in place. Next, the driver
polls a register field to ensure ATI completed in a timely fashion
and that the device is ready to sense.

However, communicating with the device over I2C while ATI is under-
way may induce noise in the device and cause ATI to fail. As such,
the vendor recommends not to poll the device during ATI.

To solve this problem, let the device naturally signal to the host
that ATI is complete by way of an interrupt. A completion prevents
the sub-devices from being registered until this happens.

The former logic that scaled ATI timeout and filter settling delay
is not carried forward with the new implementation, as it produces
overly conservative delays at lower clock rates. Instead, a single
pair of delays that covers all cases is used.

Jeff LaBundy a3a06ea174 mfd: iqs62x: Increase interrupt handler return delay
The time the device takes to deassert its RDY output following an
I2C stop condition scales with the core clock frequency.

To prevent level-triggered interrupts from being reasserted after
the interrupt handler returns, increase the time before returning
to account for the worst-case delay (~90 us) plus margin.

Arnd Bergmann b0b5b16b78 mfd: altera-sysmgr: Fix physical address storing more
A recent fix improved the way the resource gets passed to
the low-level accessors, but left one warning that appears
in configurations with a resource_size_t that is wider than
a pointer:

In file included from drivers/mfd/altera-sysmgr.c:19:

  148 |   regmap = devm_regmap_init(dev, NULL, (void *)res->start,
      |            ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I had tried a different approach that would store the address
in the private data as a phys_addr_t, but the easiest solution
now seems to be to add a double cast to shut up the warning.

As the address is passed to an inline assembly, it is guaranteed
to not be wider than a register anyway.

Hans de Goede e933836744 mfd: arizona: Add support for ACPI enumeration of WM5102 connected over SPI
The Intel Bay Trail (x86/ACPI) based Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 series use

Add support for ACPI enumeration to arizona-spi so that arizona-spi can

This is loosely based on an earlier attempt (for Android-x86) at this by
Christian Hartmann, combined with insights in things like the speaker GPIO
from the android-x86 android port for the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 1051F/L [1].

Hans de Goede 06e577b45d mfd: arizona: Add MODULE_SOFTDEP("pre: arizona_ldo1")
The (shared) probing code of the arizona-i2c and arizona-spi modules
takes the following steps during init:

1. Call mfd_add_devices() for a set of early child-devices, this
includes the arizona_ldo1 device which provides one of the
core-regulators.

2. Bulk enable the core-regulators.

3. Read the device id.

4. Call mfd_add_devices() for the other child-devices.

This sequence depends on 1. leading to not only the child-device
being created, but also the driver for the child-device binding
to it and registering its regulator.

This requires the arizona_ldo1 driver to be loaded before the
shared probing code runs. Add a softdep for this to both modules to
ensure that this requirement is met.

Note this mirrors the existing MODULE_SOFTDEP("pre: wm8994_regulator")
in the wm8994 code, which has a similar init sequence.

Michael Brunner 0cd3aa9957 mfd: kempld-core: Add support for additional devices
This update includes DMI IDs for the following Kontron modules and
systems:
COMe-bDV7, COMe-cDV7, COMe-m4AL, COMe-mCT10, SMARC-sXAL, SMARC-sXA4,
Qseven-Q7AL, mITX-APL, pITX-APL and KBox A-203

Furthermore the ACPI HID KEM0000 is added, as it is also reserved for
kempld devices.

Instead of also adding the newly supported devices to the Kconfig
description this patch removes the lengthy list. With future usage of
the ACPI HIDs it will not be necessary to explicitly add support for
each individual device to the driver and therefore the list would
become incomplete anyway.

Bartosz Golaszewski fdcfd85433 rtc: rework rtc_register_device() resource management
rtc_register_device() is a managed interface but it doesn't use devres
by itself - instead it marks an rtc_device as "registered" and the devres
callback for devm_rtc_allocate_device() takes care of resource release.

This doesn't correspond with the design behind devres where managed
structures should not be aware of being managed. The correct solution
here is to register a separate devres callback for unregistering the
device.

While at it: rename rtc_register_device() to devm_rtc_register_device()
and add it to the list of managed interfaces in devres.rst. This way we
can avoid any potential confusion of driver developers who may expect
there to exist a corresponding unregister function.

Tony Lindgren 14639a22de mfd: cpcap: Fix interrupt regression with regmap clear_ack
With commit 3a6f0fb7b8 ("regmap: irq: Add support to clear ack
registers"), the cpcap interrupts are no longer getting acked properly
leading to a very unresponsive device with CPUs fully loaded spinning
in the threaded IRQ handlers.

To me it looks like the clear_ack commit above actually fixed a long
standing bug in regmap_irq_thread() where we unconditionally acked the
interrupts earlier without considering ack_invert. And the issue with
cpcap started happening as we now also consider ack_invert.

Tim Harvey <tharvey@gateworks.com> tried to fix this issue earlier with
"[PATCH v2] regmap: irq: fix ack-invert", but the reading of the ack
register was considered unnecessary for just ack_invert, and we did not
have clear_ack available yet. As the cpcap irqs worked both with and
without ack_invert earlier because of the unconditional ack, the
problem remained hidden until now.

Also, looks like the earlier v3.0.8 based Motorola Android Linux kernel
does clear_ack style read-clear-write with "ireg_val & ~mreg_val" instead
of just ack_invert style write. So let's switch cpcap to use clear_ack
to fix the issue.

Charles Keepax 1cd7b935d2 mfd: madera: Add reset as part of resume
The DCVDD supply does not always power down when the CODEC enters
suspend, for example shared regulators or always-on regulators. In
these cases if a register is written back to the default value whilst
the CODEC is in suspend that register will retain the previous value.
As DCVDD never powered down, the register retains its old value and
as the cache sync only synchronises registers that differ from the
default the new value is never written out.

Ensure the registers are in the expected state after suspend by always
resetting the CODEC on resume. This also has the benefit of being
recommended by the datasheet for DCVDD supplies that take longer than
2mS to rise.

This adds syscon_regmap_lookup_by_phandle_optional() function to get an

It behaves the same as syscon_regmap_lookup_by_phandle() except where
there is no regmap phandle. In this case, instead of returning -ENODEV,
the function returns NULL. This makes error checking simpler when the

David E. Box 4f8217d5b0 mfd: Intel Platform Monitoring Technology support
Intel Platform Monitoring Technology (PMT) is an architecture for
enumerating and accessing hardware monitoring facilities. PMT supports
multiple types of monitoring capabilities. This driver creates platform
devices for each type so that they may be managed by capability specific
drivers (to be introduced). Capabilities are discovered using PCIe DVSEC
ids. Support is included for the 3 current capability types, Telemetry,
Watcher, and Crashlog. The features are available on new Intel platforms
starting from Tiger Lake for which support is added. This patch adds
support for Tiger Lake (TGL), Alder Lake (ADL), and Out-of-Band Management
Services Module (OOBMSM).

Also add a quirk mechanism for several early hardware differences and bugs.
For Tiger Lake and Alder Lake, do not support Watcher and Crashlog
capabilities since they will not be compatible with future product. Also,
fix use a quirk to fix the discovery table offset.

Michael Brunner e8299c7313 mfd: Add ACPI support to Kontron PLD driver
Recent Kontron COMe modules identify the PLD device using the hardware
id KEM0001 in the ACPI table.
This patch adds support for probing the device using the HID and also
retrieving the resources.

As this is not available for all products, the DMI based detection still
needs to be around for older systems. It is executed if no matching ACPI
HID is found during registering the platform driver or no specific
device id is forced.
If a device is detected using ACPI and no resource information is
available, the default io resource is used.

Forcing a device id with the force_device_id parameter and therefore
manually generating a platform device takes precedence over ACPI during
probing.

Xu Yilun 876611c493 mfd: intel-m10-bmc: Add Intel MAX 10 BMC chip support for Intel FPGA PAC
This patch implements the basic functions of the BMC chip for some Intel
FPGA PCIe Acceleration Cards (PAC). The BMC is implemented using the
Intel MAX 10 CPLD.

This BMC chip is connected to the FPGA by a SPI bus. To provide direct
register access from the FPGA, the "SPI slave to Avalon Master Bridge"
(spi-avmm) IP is integrated in the chip. It converts encoded streams of
bytes from the host to the internal register read/write on the Avalon
bus. So This driver uses the regmap-spi-avmm for register accessing.

Lee Jones 22380b65dc mfd: mfd-core: Ensure disabled devices are ignored without error
Commit e49aa9a9bd22 ("mfd: core: Make a best effort attempt to match
devices with the correct of_nodes") changed the semantics for disabled
devices in mfd_add_device(). Instead of silently ignoring a disabled
child device, an error was returned. On receipt of the error
mfd_add_devices() the precedes to remove *all* child devices and
returns an all-failed error to the caller, which will inevitably fail
the parent device as well.

This patch reverts back to the old semantics and ignores child devices
which are disabled in Device Tree.

The pdev.mfd_cell is released by platform_device_release(), which is

Suman Anna e15d7f2b81 mfd: syscon: Use a unique name with regmap_config
The DT node full name is currently being used in regmap_config
which in turn is used to create the regmap debugfs directories.
This name however is not guaranteed to be unique and the regmap
debugfs registration can fail in the cases where the syscon nodes
have the same unit-address but are present in different DT node
hierarchies. Replace this logic using the syscon reg resource
address instead (inspired from logic used while creating platform
devices) to ensure a unique name is given for each syscon.

Recently xHCI driver switched to tasklets in the commit 36dc01657b
("usb: host: xhci: Support running urb giveback in tasklet context").

The handle_irq_event_* functions are expected to be called with interrupts
disabled and they rightfully complain here because we run in tasklet context
with interrupts enabled.

Use a event spinlock to protect event handler from being interrupted.

Note, that there are only two users of this GPIO and ADC drivers and both of
them are using generic_handle_irq() which makes above happen.

Charles Keepax 77b3ddab71 mfd: madera: Improve handling of regulator unbinding
The current unbinding process for Madera has some issues. The trouble
is runtime PM is disabled as the first step of the process, but
some of the drivers release IRQs causing regmap IRQ to issue a
runtime get which fails. To allow runtime PM to remain enabled during
mfd_remove_devices, the DCVDD regulator must remain available. In
the case of external DCVDD's this is simple, the regulator can simply
be disabled/put after the call to mfd_remove_devices. However, in
the case of an internally supplied DCVDD the regulator needs to be
released after the other MFD children depending on it.

Use the new MFD mfd_remove_devices_late functionality to split
the DCVDD regulator off from the other drivers.

Charles Keepax 114294d276 mfd: mfd-core: Add mechanism for removal of a subset of children
Currently, the only way to remove MFD children is with a call to
mfd_remove_devices, which will remove all the children. Under
some circumstances it is useful to remove only a subset of the
child devices. For example if some additional clean up is required
between removal of certain child devices.

To accomplish this a level field is added to mfd_cell, the normal
mfd_remove_devices is modified to not remove devices that are set
to a higher level and a corresponding mfd_remove_devices_late
function is added to remove those children.

Adam Thomson 091c611086 mfd: da9063: Fix revision handling to correctly select reg tables
The current implementation performs checking in the i2c_probe()
function of the variant_code but does this immediately after the
containing struct has been initialised as all zero. This means the
check for variant code will always default to using the BB tables
and will never select AD. The variant code is subsequently set
by device_init() and later used by the RTC so really it's a little
fortunate this mismatch works.

This update adds raw I2C read access functionality to read the chip
and variant/revision information (common to all revisions) so that
it can subsequently correctly choose the proper regmap tables for
real initialisation.

Lee Jones 466a62d764 mfd: core: Make a best effort attempt to match devices with the correct of_nodes
Currently, when a child platform device (sometimes referred to as a
sub-device) is registered via the Multi-Functional Device (MFD) API,
the framework attempts to match the newly registered platform device
with its associated Device Tree (OF) node. Until now, the device has
been allocated the first node found with an identical OF compatible
string. Unfortunately, if there are, say for example '3' devices
which are to be handled by the same driver and therefore have the same
compatible string, each of them will be allocated a pointer to the
*first* node.

An example Device Tree entry might look like this:

  mfd_of_test {
          compatible = "mfd,of-test-parent";
          #address-cells = <0x02>;
          #size-cells = <0x02>;

          child@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa {
                  compatible = "mfd,of-test-child";
                  reg = <0xaaaaaaaa 0xaaaaaaaa 0 0x11>,
                        <0xbbbbbbbb 0xbbbbbbbb 0 0x22>;
          };

          child@cccccccc {
                  compatible = "mfd,of-test-child";
                  reg = <0x00000000 0xcccccccc 0 0x33>;
          };

          child@dddddddd00000000 {
                  compatible = "mfd,of-test-child";
                  reg = <0xdddddddd 0x00000000 0 0x44>;
          };
  };

When used with example sub-device registration like this:

  static const struct mfd_cell mfd_of_test_cell[] = {
        OF_MFD_CELL("mfd-of-test-child", NULL, NULL, 0, 0, "mfd,of-test-child"),
        OF_MFD_CELL("mfd-of-test-child", NULL, NULL, 0, 1, "mfd,of-test-child"),
        OF_MFD_CELL("mfd-of-test-child", NULL, NULL, 0, 2, "mfd,of-test-child")
  };

... the current implementation will result in all devices being allocated
the first OF node found containing a matching compatible string:

  [0.712511] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.0: Probing platform device: 0
  [0.712710] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.0: Using OF node: child@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  [0.713033] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.1: Probing platform device: 1
  [0.713381] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.1: Using OF node: child@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  [0.713691] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.2: Probing platform device: 2
  [0.713889] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.2: Using OF node: child@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

After this patch each device will be allocated a unique OF node:

  [0.712511] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.0: Probing platform device: 0
  [0.712710] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.0: Using OF node: child@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  [0.713033] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.1: Probing platform device: 1
  [0.713381] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.1: Using OF node: child@cccccccc
  [0.713691] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.2: Probing platform device: 2
  [0.713889] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.2: Using OF node: child@dddddddd00000000

Which is fine if all OF nodes are identical. However if we wish to
apply an attribute to particular device, we really need to ensure the
correct OF node will be associated with the device containing the
correct address. We accomplish this by matching the device's address
expressed in DT with one provided during sub-device registration.
Like this:

  static const struct mfd_cell mfd_of_test_cell[] = {
        OF_MFD_CELL_REG("mfd-of-test-child", NULL, NULL, 0, 1, "mfd,of-test-child", 0xdddddddd00000000),
        OF_MFD_CELL_REG("mfd-of-test-child", NULL, NULL, 0, 2, "mfd,of-test-child", 0xaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa),
        OF_MFD_CELL_REG("mfd-of-test-child", NULL, NULL, 0, 3, "mfd,of-test-child", 0x00000000cccccccc)
  };

This will ensure a specific device (designated here using the
platform_ids; 1, 2 and 3) is matched with a particular OF node:

  [0.712511] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.0: Probing platform device: 0
  [0.712710] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.0: Using OF node: child@dddddddd00000000
  [0.713033] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.1: Probing platform device: 1
  [0.713381] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.1: Using OF node: child@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  [0.713691] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.2: Probing platform device: 2
  [0.713889] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.2: Using OF node: child@cccccccc

This implementation is still not infallible, hence the mention of
"best effort" in the commit subject. Since we have not *insisted* on
the existence of 'reg' properties (in some scenarios they just do not
make sense) and no device currently uses the new 'of_reg' attribute,
we have to make an on-the-fly judgement call whether to associate the
OF node anyway. Which we do in cases where parent drivers haven't
specified a particular OF node to match to. So there is a *slight*
possibility of the following result (note: the implementation here is
convoluted, but it shows you one means by which this process can
still break):

  /*
   * First entry will match to the first OF node with matching compatible
   * Second will fail, since the first took its OF node and is no longer available
   * Third will succeed
   */
  static const struct mfd_cell mfd_of_test_cell[] = {
        OF_MFD_CELL("mfd-of-test-child", NULL, NULL, 0, 1, "mfd,of-test-child"),
	OF_MFD_CELL_REG("mfd-of-test-child", NULL, NULL, 0, 2, "mfd,of-test-child", 0xaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa),
        OF_MFD_CELL_REG("mfd-of-test-child", NULL, NULL, 0, 3, "mfd,of-test-child", 0x00000000cccccccc)
  };

The result:

  [0.753869] mfd-of-test-parent mfd_of_test: Registering 3 devices
  [0.756597] mfd-of-test-child: Failed to locate of_node [id: 2]
  [0.759999] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.1: Probing platform device: 1
  [0.760314] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.1: Using OF node: child@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  [0.760908] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.2: Probing platform device: 2
  [0.761183] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.2: No OF node associated with this device
  [0.761621] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.3: Probing platform device: 3
  [0.761899] mfd-of-test-child mfd-of-test-child.3: Using OF node: child@cccccccc

We could code around this with some pre-parsing semantics, but the
added complexity required to cover each and every corner-case is not
justified. Merely patching the current failing (via this patch) is
already working with some pretty small corner-cases. Other issues
should be patched in the parent drivers which can be achieved simply
by implementing OF_MFD_CELL_REG().

Jon Derrick ec0160891e irqdomain/treewide: Free firmware node after domain removal
Commit 711419e504 ("irqdomain: Add the missing assignment of
domain->fwnode for named fwnode") unintentionally caused a dangling pointer
page fault issue on firmware nodes that were freed after IRQ domain
allocation. Commit e3beca48a4 fixed that dangling pointer issue by only
freeing the firmware node after an IRQ domain allocation failure. That fix
no longer frees the firmware node immediately, but leaves the firmware node
allocated after the domain is removed.

The firmware node must be kept around through irq_domain_remove, but should be
freed it afterwards.

Add the missing free operations after domain removal where where appropriate.

Thomas Gleixner e3beca48a4 irqdomain/treewide: Keep firmware node unconditionally allocated
Quite some non OF/ACPI users of irqdomains allocate firmware nodes of type
IRQCHIP_FWNODE_NAMED or IRQCHIP_FWNODE_NAMED_ID and free them right after
creating the irqdomain. The only purpose of these FW nodes is to convey
name information. When this was introduced the core code did not store the
pointer to the node in the irqdomain. A recent change stored the firmware
node pointer in irqdomain for other reasons and missed to notice that the
usage sites which do the alloc_fwnode/create_domain/free_fwnode sequence
are broken by this. Storing a dangling pointer is dangerous itself, but in
case that the domain is destroyed later on this leads to a double free.

Remove the freeing of the firmware node after creating the irqdomain from
all affected call sites to cure this.

 drivers/mfd/ab8500-debugfs.c:1804:20:    unsigned long *

this by treating values as signed and casting them to the same type
as the receiving variable.

 drivers/mfd/ab8500-debugfs.c:1804:20:    unsigned long *

Since the second min() argument can be less than 0 a signed
variable is required for assignment. However, the non-sized
type size_t is passed in from the userspace handlers. In order
to firstly compare, then assign the smallest value, we firstly
need to cast them both to the same as the receiving size_t typed
variable.

It appears as though the driver data property 'resource_size_t *base'
was being used to store 2 different types of addresses (physical and
IO-mapped) under a single declared type.

Fortunately, no value is recalled from the driver data entry, so it
can be easily omitted. Instead we can use the value obtained directly
from the platform resource to pass through Regmap into the call-backs
to be used for the SMCC call and use a local dedicated __iomem
variable for IO-remapping.

Whilst it doesn't matter if the internal 32k clock register settings

Masahiro Yamada a7f7f6248d treewide: replace '---help---' in Kconfig files with 'help'
Since commit 84af7a6194 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over
'---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been gradually
decreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances.

This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines,
I also fixed the indentation.

There are a variety of indentation styles found.

  a) 4 spaces + '---help---'
  b) 7 spaces + '---help---'
  c) 8 spaces + '---help---'
  d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---'
  e) 1 tab + '---help---'    (correct indentation)
  f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---'
  g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---'

In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the
following commend:

  $ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/'

Linus Torvalds 3f7e82379f This is the bulk of GPIO changes for the v5.8 kernel cycle.
Core changes:

 - A new GPIO aggregator driver has been merged: this can
   join a few select GPIO lines into a new aggregated GPIO
   chip. This can be used for security: a process can be
   granted access to only these lines, for example for
   industrial control. Another way to use this is to
   reexpose certain select lines to a virtual machine or
   container.

 - Warn if the gpio-line-names is too long in he DT parser
   core.

 - GPIO lines can now be looked up by line name in addition
   to being looked up by offset.

 New drivers:

 - A new generic regmap GPIO driver has been merged. Too
   many regmap drivers are starting to look like each other
   so we need to create some common ground and try to move
   drivers over to using that.

 - The F7188X driver now supports F81865.

 Driver improvements:

 - Large improvements to the PCA953x expander, get multiple lines
   and several cleanups.

 - Large improvements to the DesignWare DWAPB driver, and Sergey
   Semin has volunteered to maintain it.

 - PL061 can now be built as a module, this is part of a bigger
   effort to make the ARM platforms more modular.

Linus Torvalds 694b5a5d31 ARM: SoC changes for v5.8
One new platform gets added, the Realtek RTD1195, which is an older
 Cortex-a7 based relative of the RTD12xx chips that are already supported
 in arch/arm64. The platform may also be extended to support running
 32-bit kernels on those 64-bit chips for memory-constrained machines.

 In the Renesas shmobile platform, we gain support for "RZ/G1H" or R8A7742,
 an eight-core chip based on Cortex-A15 and Cortex-A7 cores, originally
 released in 2016 as one of the last high-end 32-bit designs.

 There is ongoing cleanup for the integrator, tegra, imx, and omap2
 platforms, with integrator getting very close to the goal of having
 zero code in arch/arm/, and omap2 moving more of the chip specifics
 from old board code into device tree files.

 The Versatile Express platform is made more modular, with built-in
 drivers now becoming loadable modules. This is part of a greater effort
 for the Android OS to have a common kernel binary for all platforms and
 any platform specific code in loadable modules.

 The PXA platform drops support for Compulab's pxa2xx boards that had
 rather unusual flash and PCI drivers but no known users remaining.
 All device drivers specific to those boards can now get removed as
 well.

 Across platforms, there is ongoing cleanup, with Geert and Rob
 revisiting some a lot of Kconfig options.

Thierry Reding 12e5bf757a mfd: max77620: Use single-byte writes on MAX77620
The MAX77620 doesn't support bulk writes, so make sure the regmap code
breaks bulk writes into multiple single-byte writes.

Note that this is mostly cosmetic because currently only the RTC sub-
driver uses bulk writes and the RTC driver ends up using a different
regmap on the MAX77620 anyway. However, it seems like a good idea to
make this change now in order to avoid running into issues if bulk
writes are ever used by other sub-drivers sometime down the road.

Amelie Delaunay 97eda5dcc2 mfd: stmfx: Disable IRQ in suspend to avoid spurious interrupt
When STMFX supply is stopped, spurious interrupt can occur. To avoid that,
disable the interrupt in suspend before disabling the regulator and
re-enable it at the end of resume.

Marek Szyprowski f4a1954036 mfd: wm8994: Fix unbalanced calls to regulator_bulk_disable()
When runtime PM is enabled, regulators are being controlled by the
driver's suspend and resume callbacks. They are also unconditionally
enabled at driver's probe(), and disabled in remove() functions. Add
more calls to runtime PM framework to ensure that the device's runtime
PM state matches the regulators state:
1. at the end of probe() function: set runtime PM state to active, so
there will be no spurious call to resume();
2. in remove(), ensure that resume() is called before disabling runtime PM
management and unconditionally disabling the regulators.
