Use the capabilities field to query the device for ENI stats
support.
This replaces the previous method that tried to get the ENI stats
during ena_probe() and used the success or failure as an indication
for support by the device.
Remove eni_stats_supported field from struct ena_adapter. This field
was used for the previous method of queriying for ENI stats support.
Change the severity level of the print in case of
ena_com_get_eni_stats() failure from info to error.
With the previous method of querying form ENI stats support, failure
to get ENI stats was normal for devices that don't support it.
With the use of the capabilities field such a failure is unexpected,
as it is called only if the device reported that it supports ENI
stats.

This bitmask field indicates what capabilities are supported by the
device.
The capabilities field differs from the 'supported_features' field which
indicates what sub-commands for the set/get feature commands are
supported. The sub-commands are specified in the 'feature_id' field of
the 'ena_admin_set_feat_cmd' struct in the following way:
struct ena_admin_set_feat_cmd cmd;
cmd.aq_common_descriptor.opcode = ENA_ADMIN_SET_FEATURE;
cmd.feat_common.feature_
The 'capabilities' field, on the other hand, specifies different
capabilities of the device. For example, whether the device supports
querying of ENI stats.
Also add an enumerator which contains all the capabilities. The
first added capability macro is for ENI stats feature.
Capabilities are queried along with the other device attributes (in
ena_com_get_dev_attr_feat()) during device initialization and are stored
in the ena_com_dev struct. They can be later queried using the
ena_com_get_cap() helper function.

In other words, in the "bad" configuration, the attempt is to remove the
inactive swp1 from the destination ports via PGID_DST. But when a MAC
table entry is learned, it is learned towards PGID_DST 1, because that
is the logical port id of the LAG itself (it is equal to the lowest
numbered member port). So when swp1 becomes inactive, if we set
PGID_DST[1] to contain just swp1 and not swp2, the packet will not have
any chance to reach the destination via swp2.
The "correct" way to remove swp1 as a destination is via PGID_AGGR
(remove swp1 from the aggregation port groups for all aggregation
codes). This means that PGID_DST[1] and PGID_DST[2] must still contain
both swp1 and swp2. This makes the MAC table still treat packets
destined towards the single-port LAG as "multicast", and the inactive
ports are removed via the aggregation code tables.
The change presented here is a design one: the ocelot_get_bond_mask()
function used to take an "only_active_ports" argument. We don't need
that. The only call site that specifies only_active_ports=true,
ocelot_set_aggr_pgids(), must retrieve the entire bonding mask, because
it must program that into PGID_DST. Additionally, it must also clear the
inactive ports from the bond mask here, which it can't do if bond_mask
just contains the active ports:
ac = ocelot_read_rix(ocelot, ANA_PGID_PGID, i);
ac &= ~bond_mask; <---- here
/* Don't do division by zero if there was no active
* port. Just make all aggregation codes zero.
*/
if (num_active_ports)
ac |= BIT(aggr_idx[i % num_active_ports]);
ocelot_write_rix(ocelot, ac, ANA_PGID_PGID, i);
So it becomes the responsibility of ocelot_set_aggr_pgids() to take
ocelot_port->lag_tx_active into consideration when populating the
aggr_idx array.

The i40e_asq_send_command will now use a non blocking usleep_range if
possible (non-atomic context), instead of busy-waiting udelay. The
usleep_range function uses hrtimers to provide better performance and
removes the negative impact of busy-waiting in time-critical
environments.
1. Rename i40e_asq_send_command to i40e_asq_send_command_atomic
and add 5th parameter to inform if called from an atomic context.
Call inside usleep_range (if non-atomic) or udelay (if atomic).
2. Change i40e_asq_send_command to invoke
i40e_asq_send_command_atomic(..., false).
3. Change two functions:
- i40e_aq_set_vsi_uc_promisc_on_vlan
- i40e_aq_set_vsi_mc_promisc_on_vlan
to explicitly use i40e_asq_send_command_atomic(..., true)
instead of i40e_asq_send_command, as they use spinlocks and do some
work in an atomic context.

Before this patchset, mlx5 subfunction shared the same IRQs (MSI-X) with
their peers subfunctions, causing them to use same CPU cores.
In large scale, this is very undesirable, SFs use small number of cpu
cores and all of them will be packed on the same CPU cores, not
utilizing all CPU cores in the system.
In this patchset we want to achieve two things.
a) Spread IRQs used by SFs to all cpu cores
b) Pack less SFs in the same IRQ, will result in multiple IRQs per core.
In this patchset, we spread SFs over all online cpus available to mlx5
irqs in Round-Robin manner. e.g.: Whenever a SF is created, pick the next
CPU core with least number of SF IRQs bound to it, SFs will share IRQs on
the same core until a certain limit, when such limit is reached, we
request a new IRQ and add it to that CPU core IRQ pool, when out of IRQs,
pick any IRQ with least number of SF users.
This enhancement is done in order to achieve a better distribution of

Spectrum-4 will calculate hash function for bloom filter differently
from the existing ASICs.
First, two hash functions will be used to calculate 16 bits result.
The final result will be combination of the two results - 6 bits which
are result of CRC-6 will be used as MSB and 10 bits which are result of
CRC-10 will be used as LSB.
Second, while in Spectrum{2,3}, there is a padding in each chunk, so the
chunks use a sequence of whole bytes, in Spectrum-4 there is no padding,
so each chunk use 20 bytes minus 2 bits, so it is necessary to align the
chunks to be without holes.
Add dedicated 'mlxsw_sp_acl_bf_ops' for Spectrum-4 and add the required
tables for CRC calculations.
All the details are documented as part of the code for future use.

In current switchdev implementation, every VF PR is assigned to
individual ring on switchdev ctrl VSI. For slow-path traffic, there
is a mapping VF->ring done in software based on src_vsi value (by
calling ice_eswitch_get_target_netdev function).
With this change, HW solution is introduced which is more
efficient. For each VF, src MAC (VF's MAC) filter will be created,
which forwards packets to the corresponding switchdev ctrl VSI queue
based on src MAC address.
This filter has to be removed and then replayed in case of
resetting one VF. Keep information about this rule in repr->mac_rule,
thanks to that we know which rule has to be removed and replayed
for a given VF.
In case of CORE/GLOBAL all rules are removed
automatically. We have to take care of readding them. This is done
by ice_replay_vsi_adv_rule.
When driver leaves switchdev mode, remove all advanced rules
from switchdev ctrl VSI. This is done by ice_rem_adv_rule_for_vsi.
Flag repr->rule_added is needed because in some cases reset
might be triggered before VF sends request to add MAC.

Locally generated packets ingress the device through its CPU port. When
the CPU port is congested and there are not enough credits in its
headroom buffer, packets can be dropped.
While this might be acceptable for data packets that traverse the
network, configuration packets exchanged between the host and the device
(EMADs) should not be subjected to this flow control.
The "sdq_lp" bit in the SDQ (Send Descriptor Queue) context allows the
host to instruct the device to treat packets sent on this queue as
"local processing" and always process them, regardless of the state of
the CPU port's headroom.
Add the definition of this bit and set it for the dedicated SDQ reserved
for the transmission of EMAD packets. This makes the "local processing"
bit in the WQE (Work Queue Element) redundant, so clear it.

Currently, there are two different sets of special command codes in PF and
VF cmdq modules, this is because VF driver only uses small part of all the
command codes. In other words, these not used command codes in VF are also
sepcial command codes theoretically.

Currently PF stores its rss parameters in vport structure. VF stores rss
configurations in hclgevf_rss_cfg structure. Actually hns3 rss parameters
are same beween PF and VF. The two set of rss parameters are redundent and

Extend lan966x driver with mdb support by implementing the switchdev

It is allowed to add both ipv4/ipv6 entries and l2 entries. To add
ipv4/ipv6 entries is not required to use the PGID table while for l2

the packet into several buffers when the MTU on the CPU port is
less than the MTU of the switch. The first buffer starts at an

offset. Thanks to this patch, the user can still connect to the

The role of ena_calc_max_io_queue_num() is to return the number
of queues supported by the device, which means the return value
should be >=0.
The function that calls ena_calc_max_io_queue_num(), checks
the return value. If it is 0, it means the device reported
it supports 0 IO queues. This case is considered an error
and is handled by the calling function accordingly.
However the current implementation of ena_calc_max_io_queue_num()
is wrong, since when it detects the device supports 0 IO queues,
it returns -EFAULT.
In such a case the calling function doesn't detect the error,
and therefore doesn't handle it.
This commit changes ena_calc_max_io_queue_num() to return 0
in case the device reported it supports 0 queues, allowing the
calling function to properly handle the error case.

ena_com_tx_comp_req_id_get() checks the req_id of a received completion,
and if it is out of bounds returns -EINVAL. This is a sign that
something is wrong with the device and it needs to be reset.
The current code does not reset the device in this case, which leaves
the driver in an undefined state, where this completion is not properly
handled.
This commit adds a call to handle_invalid_req_id() in ena_clean_tx_irq()
and ena_clean_xdp_irq() which resets the device to fix the issue.
This commit also removes unnecessary request id checks from
validate_tx_req_id() and validate_xdp_req_id(). This check is unneeded
because it was already performed in ena_com_tx_comp_req_id_get(), which
is called right before these functions.

mlx5 Software steering, New features and optimizations
This patch series brings various SW steering features, optimizations and
debug-ability focused improvements.
1) Expose debugfs for dumping the SW steering resources
2) Removing unused fields
3) support for matching on new fields
4) steering optimization for RX/TX-only rules
5) Make Software steering the default steering mechanism when
available, applies only to Switchdev mode FDB
From Yevgeny Kliteynik and Muhammad Sammar:
- Patch 1 fixes an error flow in creating matchers
- Patch 2 fix lower case macro prefix "mlx5_" to "MLX5_"
- Patch 3 removes unused struct member in mlx5dr_matcher
- Patch 4 renames list field in matcher struct to list_node to reflect the
fact that is field is for list node that is stored on another struct's lists
- Patch 5 adds checking for valid Flex parser ID value
- Patch 6 adds the missing reserved fields to dr_match_param and aligns it to
the format that is defined by HW spec
- Patch 7 adds support for dumping SW steering (SMFS) resources using debugfs
in CSV format: domain and its tables, matchers and rules
- Patch 8 adds support for a new destination type - UPLINK
- Patch 9 adds WARN_ON_ONCE on refcount checks in SW steering object destructors
- Patches 10, 11, 12 add misc5 flow table match parameters and add support for
matching on tunnel headers 0 and 1
- Patch 13 adds support for matching on geneve_tlv_option_0_exist field
- Patch 14 implements performance optimization for for empty or RX/TX-only
matchers by splitting RX and TX matchers handling: matcher connection in the
matchers chain is split into two separate lists (RX only and TX only), which
solves a usecase of many RX or TX only rules that create a long chain of
RX/TX-only paths w/o the actual rules
- Patch 15 ignores modify TTL if device doesn't support it instead of
adding and unsupported action
- Patch 16 sets SMFS as a default steering mode

mlx5 Software steering, New features and optimizations
- Patch 16 sets SMFS as a default steering mode

currently most cmdq APIs are unified in hclge_comm_cmd.c. Newly developed
cmdq APIs should also be placed in hclge_comm_cmd.c. So there is no need to
keep hclge_cmd.c and hclgevf_cmd.c.
This patch moves the hclge(vf)_cmd_send to hclge(vf)_main.c and deletes
the source files and makefile scripts.

Currently PF and VF cmdq APIs use struct hclge(vf)_hw to describe cmdq
hardware information needed by hclge(vf)_cmd_send. There are a little
differences between its child struct hclge_cmq_ring and hclgevf_cmq_ring.
It is redundent to use two sets of structures to support same functions.
So this patch creates new set of common cmdq hardware description
structures(hclge_comm_hw) to unify PF and VF cmdq functions. The struct
hclge_desc is still kept to avoid too many meaningless replacement.
These new structures will be used to unify hclge(vf)_hw structures in PF

Currently we plan to refactor PF and VF cmdq module. A new file folder
hns3_common will be created to store new common APIs used by PF and VF
cmdq module. Thus the PF and VF compilation process will both depends on
the hns3_common. This may cause parallel building problems if we add a new
makefile building unit.
So this patch combined the PF and VF makefile scripts to the top level
makefile to support the new hns3_common which will be created in the next
patch.

Set SMFS (SW-managed flow steering) as a default steering mode
instead of DMFS (device-managed flow steering)
In SMFS, the driver writes the STEs (Steering Table Entries) directly
to the device's ICM, which allows for a higher rule insertion rate
than through using FW command interface, as it is done in DMFS.
SMFS/DMFS steering modes can be configured through devlink param
'flow_steering_mode'. The possible values are 'smfs' or 'dmfs'.
The desired 'flow_steering_mode' param value should be set before
enabling switchdev mode.
Example:
# devlink dev param set pci/0000:05:00.0 name flow_steering_mode smfs
# devlink dev eswitch set pci/0000:05:00.0 mode switchdev

When modifying TTL, packet's csum has to be recalculated.
Due to HW issue in ConnectX-5, csum recalculation for modify TTL
is supported through a work-around that is specifically enabled
by configuration.
If the work-around isn't enabled, ignore the modify TTL action
rather than adding an unsupported action.

Every matcher has RX and TX paths. When a new matcher is created, its RX
and TX start/end anchors are connected to the respective RX and TX anchors
of the previous and next matchers.
This creates a potential performance issue: when a certain rule is added
to a matcher, in many cases it is RX or TX only rule, which may create a
long chain of RX/TX-only paths w/o the actual rules.
This patch aims to handle this issue.
RX and TX matchers are now handled separately: matcher connection in the
matchers chain is split into two separate lists: RX only and TX only.
when a new matcher is created, it is initially created 'detached' - its
RX/TX members are not inserted into the table's matcher list.
When an actual rule is added, only its appropriate RX or TX nic matchers
are then added to the table's nic matchers list and inserted into its
place in the chain of matchers.
I.e., if the rule that is being added is an RX-only rule, only the RX
part of the matcher will be connected to the chain, while TX part of the
matcher remains detached and doesn't prolong the TX chain of the matchers.
Same goes for rule deletion: when the last RX/TX rule of the nic matcher
is destroyed, the nic matcher is removed from its list.

1GbE Intel Wired LAN Driver Updates 2021-12-29
Ruud Bos says:
The igb driver provides support for PEROUT and EXTTS pin functions that
allow adapter external use of timing signals. At Hottinger Bruel & Kjaer we
are using the PEROUT function to feed a PTP corrected 1pps signal into an
FPGA as cross system synchronized time source.
Support for the PEROUT and EXTTS SDP functions is currently limited to
i210/i211 based adapters. This patch series enables these functions also
for 82580/i354/i350 based ones. Because the time registers of these
adapters do not have the nice split in second rollovers as the i210 has,
the implementation is slightly more complex compared to the i210
implementation.
The PEROUT function has been successfully tested on an i350 based ethernet
adapter. Using the following user space code excerpt, the driver outputs a
PTP corrected 1pps signal on the SDP0 pin of an i350:
struct ptp_pin_desc desc;
memset(&desc, 0, sizeof(desc));
desc.index = 0;
desc.func = PTP_PF_PEROUT;
desc.chan = 0;
if (ioctl(fd, PTP_PIN_SETFUNC, &desc) == 0) {
struct timespec ts;
if (clock_gettime(clkid, &ts) == 0) {
struct ptp_perout_request rq;
memset(&rq, 0, sizeof(rq));
rq.index = 0;
rq.start.sec = ts.tv_sec + 1;
rq.start.nsec = 500000000;
rq.period.sec = 1;
rq.period.nsec = 0;
if (ioctl(fd, PTP_PEROUT_REQUEST, &rq) == 0) {
/* 1pps signal is now available on SDP0 */
}
}
}
The added EXTTS function has not been tested. However, looking at the data
sheets, the layout of the registers involved match the i210 exactly except
for the time registers mentioned before. Hence the almost identical
implementation.

unnecessary parenthesis.

Add prestera_router_hw.c. This file contains functions, which track HW
objects relations and links. This include implicity creation of objects,
that needed by requested one and implicity removing of objects, which
reference counter is became zero.
We need this layer, because kernel callbacks not always mapped to
creation of single HW object. So let it be two different layers - one
for subscribing and parsing kernel structures, and another
(prestera_router_hw.c) for HW objects relations tracking.
There is two types of objects on router_hw layer:
- Explicit objects (rif_entry) : created by higher layer.
- Implicit objects (vr) : created on demand by explicit objects.

In case of an error in mlx5e_set_features(), 'netdev->features' must be
updated with the correct state of the device to indicate which features
were updated successfully.
To do that we maintain a copy of 'netdev->features' and update it after
successful feature changes, so we can assign it to back to
'netdev->features' if needed.
However, since not all netdev features are handled by the driver (e.g.
GRO/TSO/etc), some features may not be updated correctly in case of an
error updating another feature.
For example, while requesting to disable TSO (feature which is not
handled by the driver) and enable HW-GRO, if an error occurs during
HW-GRO enable, 'oper_features' will be assigned with 'netdev->features'
and HW-GRO turned off. TSO will remain enabled in such case, which is a
bug.
To solve that, instead of using 'netdev->features' as the baseline of
'oper_features' and changing it on set feature success, use 'features'
instead and update it in case of errors.

10GbE Intel Wired LAN Driver Updates 2021-12-28
Alexander Lobakin says:
napi_build_skb() I introduced earlier this year ([0]) aims
to decrease MM pressure and the overhead from in-place
kmem_cache_alloc() on each Rx entry processing by decaching
skbuff_heads from NAPI per-cpu cache filled prior to that by
napi_consume_skb() (so it is sort of a direct shortcut for
free -> mm -> alloc cycle).
Currently, no in-tree drivers use it. Switch all Intel Ethernet
drivers to it to get slight-to-medium perf boosts depending on
the frame size.

Additionally, e1000's been switched to napi_consume_skb() as it's
safe and works fine there, and there's no point in napi_build_skb()
without paired NAPI cache feeding point.

In order to take the best from per-cpu NAPI skbuff_head caches and
CPU cycles, let's switch from dev_kfree_skb_any(), which passes skb
back to the mm layer, to napi_consume_skb(), which feeds those
caches on non-zero budget instead (falls back to the former on 0).
Do the replacement in e1000_unmap_and_free_tx_resource(). There are
4 call sites of this function throughout the driver:
* e1000_clean_tx_ring(). Slowpath, process context, cleans the
whole Tx ring on ifdown. Use budget of 0 here;
* e1000_tx_map(). Hotpath, net Tx softirq, unmaps the buffers in
case of error. Use 0 as well;
* e1000_clean_tx_irq(). Hotpath, NAPI Tx completion polling cycle.
As the driver doesn't count completed Tx entries towards the NAPI
budget, just use the poll budget of 64 to utilize caches.
Apart from being a preparation for switching to napi_build_skb(),
this is useful on its own as well, as napi_consume_skb() flushes
skb caches by batches of 32 instead of one-at-a-time.
