Starting from Intel Platform VT-d v3.2, BIOS may provide new remapping
structure SATC for SOC integrated devices, according to section 8.8 of
Intel VT-d architecture specification v3.2. The SATC structure reports
a list of the devices that require ATS for normal device operation. It
is a functional requirement that these devices will not work without OS
enabling ATS capability.
This patch introduces the new enum value and structure to represent the
remapping information. Kernel should parse the information from the
reporting structure and enable ATC for the devices as needed.

GCC 7.1 gained -Wimplicit-fallthrough to warn on implicit fallthrough,
as well as __attribute__((__fallthrough__)) and comments to explicitly
denote that cases of fallthrough were intentional. Clang also supports
this warning and statement attribute, but not the comment form.
Robert Moore provides additional context about the lint comments being
removed. They were for "an old version of PC-Lint, which we don't use
anymore." Drop those.
This will help us enable -Wimplicit-fallthrough throughout the Linux
kernel.

ACPICA commit 1a3a549286ea9db07d7ec700e7a70dd8bcc4354e
The macros to classify different AML exception codes are broken. For
instance,
ACPI_ENV_EXCEPTION(Status)
will always evaluate to zero due to
#define AE_CODE_ENVIRONMENTAL 0x0000
#define ACPI_ENV_EXCEPTION(Status) (Status & AE_CODE_ENVIRONMENTAL)
Similarly, ACPI_AML_EXCEPTION(Status) will evaluate to a non-zero
value for error codes of type AE_CODE_PROGRAMMER, AE_CODE_ACPI_TABLES,
as well as AE_CODE_AML, and not just AE_CODE_AML as the name suggests.
This commit fixes those checks.

The cppc_cpudata per-cpu storage was inefficient (1) additional to causing
functional issues (2) when CPUs are hotplugged out, due to per-cpu data
being improperly initialised.
(1) The amount of information needed for CPPC performance control in its
cpufreq driver depends on the domain (PSD) coordination type:
ANY: One set of CPPC control and capability data (e.g desired
performance, highest/lowest performance, etc) applies to all
CPUs in the domain.
ALL: Same as ANY. To be noted that this type is not currently
supported. When supported, information about which CPUs
belong to a domain is needed in order for frequency change
requests to be sent to each of them.
HW: It's necessary to store CPPC control and capability
information for all the CPUs. HW will then coordinate the
performance state based on their limitations and requests.
NONE: Same as HW. No HW coordination is expected.
Despite this, the previous initialisation code would indiscriminately
allocate memory for all CPUs (all_cpu_data) and unnecessarily
duplicate performance capabilities and the domain sharing mask and type
for each possible CPU.
(2) With the current per-cpu structure, when having ANY coordination,
the cppc_cpudata cpu information is not initialised (will remain 0)
for all CPUs in a policy, other than policy->cpu. When policy->cpu is
hotplugged out, the driver will incorrectly use the uninitialised (0)
value of the other CPUs when making frequency changes. Additionally,
the previous values stored in the perf_ctrls.desired_perf will be
lost when policy->cpu changes.
Therefore replace the array of per cpu data with a list. The memory for
each structure is allocated at policy init, where a single structure
can be allocated per policy, not per cpu. In order to accommodate the
struct list_head node in the cppc_cpudata structure, the now unused cpu
and cur_policy variables are removed.
For example, on a arm64 Juno platform with 6 CPUs: (0, 1, 2, 3) in PSD1,
(4, 5) in PSD2 - ANY coordination, the memory allocation comparison shows:
Before patch:
- ANY coordination:
total slack req alloc/free caller
0 0 0 0/1 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008ff7810
0 0 0 0/6 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008ff7808
128 80 48 1/0 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008ffc070
768 0 768 6/0 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008ffc0e4
After patch:
- ANY coordination:
total slack req alloc/free caller
256 0 256 2/0 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008fed410
0 0 0 0/2 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008fed274
Additional notes:
- A pointer to the policy's cppc_cpudata is stored in policy->driver_data
- Driver registration is skipped if _CPC entries are not present.

The idea behind acpi_pm_set_bridge_wakeup() was to allow bridges to
be reference counted for wakeup enabling, because they may be enabled
to signal wakeup on behalf of their subordinate devices and that
may happen for multiple times in a row, whereas for the other devices
it only makes sense to enable wakeup signaling once.
However, this becomes problematic if the bridge itself is suspended,
because it is treated as a "regular" device in that case and the
reference counting doesn't work.
For instance, suppose that there are two devices below a bridge and
they both can signal wakeup. Every time one of them is suspended,
wakeup signaling is enabled for the bridge, so when they both have
been suspended, the bridge's wakeup reference counter value is 2.
Say that the bridge is suspended subsequently and acpi_pci_wakeup()
is called for it. Because the bridge can signal wakeup, that
function will invoke acpi_pm_set_device_wakeup() to configure it
and __acpi_pm_set_device_wakeup() will be called with the last
argument equal to 1. This causes __acpi_device_wakeup_enable()
invoked by it to omit the reference counting, because the reference
counter of the target device (the bridge) is 2 at that time.
Now say that the bridge resumes and one of the device below it
resumes too, so the bridge's reference counter becomes 0 and
wakeup signaling is disabled for it, but there is still the other
suspended device which may need the bridge to signal wakeup on its
behalf and that is not going to work.
To address this scenario, use wakeup enable reference counting for
all devices, not just for bridges, so drop the last argument from
__acpi_device_wakeup_enable() and __acpi_pm_set_device_wakeup(),
which causes acpi_pm_set_device_wakeup() and
acpi_pm_set_bridge_wakeup() to become identical, so drop the latter
and use the former instead of it everywhere.

Patch series "device-dax: Support sub-dividing soft-reserved ranges", v5.
The device-dax facility allows an address range to be directly mapped
through a chardev, or optionally hotplugged to the core kernel page
allocator as System-RAM. It is the mechanism for converting persistent
memory (pmem) to be used as another volatile memory pool i.e. the current
Memory Tiering hot topic on linux-mm.
In the case of pmem the nvdimm-namespace-label mechanism can sub-divide
it, but that labeling mechanism is not available / applicable to
soft-reserved ("EFI specific purpose") memory [3]. This series provides a
sysfs-mechanism for the daxctl utility to enable provisioning of
volatile-soft-reserved memory ranges.
The motivations for this facility are:
1/ Allow performance differentiated memory ranges to be split between
kernel-managed and directly-accessed use cases.
2/ Allow physical memory to be provisioned along performance relevant
address boundaries. For example, divide a memory-side cache [4] along
cache-color boundaries.
3/ Parcel out soft-reserved memory to VMs using device-dax as a security
/ permissions boundary [5]. Specifically I have seen people (ab)using
memmap=nn!ss (mark System-RAM as Persistent Memory) just to get the
device-dax interface on custom address ranges. A follow-on for the VM
use case is to teach device-dax to dynamically allocate 'struct page' at
runtime to reduce the duplication of 'struct page' space in both the
guest and the host kernel for the same physical pages.

CPER records describing a firmware-first error are identified by GUID.
The ghes driver currently logs, but ignores any unknown CPER records.
This prevents describing errors that can't be represented by a standard
entry, that would otherwise allow a driver to recover from an error.
The UEFI spec calls these 'Non-standard Section Body' (N.2.3 of
version 2.8).
Add a notifier chain for these non-standard/vendor-records. Callers
must identify their type of records by GUID.
Record data is copied to memory from the ghes_estatus_pool to allow
us to keep it until after the notifier has run.

Define ACPI_GPE_USE_LOGICAL_ADDRESSES in aclinux.h and modify
acpi_os_initialize() to store the logical addresses of the FADT GPE
blocks 0 and 1 in acpi_gbl_xgpe0_block_logical_address and
acpi_gbl_xgpe1_block_logical_address, respectively, so as to allow
ACPICA to use them for accessing GPE registers in system memory,
instead of using their physical addresses and looking up the
corresponding logical addresses on every access attempt, which is
inefficient.

Modify acpi_os_map_generic_address() to return the pointer returned
by acpi_os_map_iomem() which represents the logical address
corresponding to the struct acpi_generic_address argument passed to
it or NULL if that address cannot be obtained (for example, the
argument does not represent an address in system memory or it could
not be mapped by the OS).
Among other things, that will allow the ACPI OS layer to pass the
logical addresses of the FADT GPE blocks 0 and 1 to ACPICA going
forward.

Some HW devices are created as child devices of proprietary busses,
that have a bus specific policy defining how the child devices
wires representing the devices ID are translated into IOMMU and
IRQ controllers device IDs.
Current IORT code provides translations for:
- PCI devices, where the device ID is well identified at bus level
as the requester ID (RID)
- Platform devices that are endpoint devices where the device ID is
retrieved from the ACPI object IORT mappings (Named components single
mappings). A platform device is represented in IORT as a named
component node
For devices that are child devices of proprietary busses the IORT
firmware represents the bus node as a named component node in IORT
and it is up to that named component node to define in/out bus
specific ID translations for the bus child devices that are
allocated and created in a bus specific manner.
In order to make IORT ID translations available for proprietary
bus child devices, the current ACPI (and IORT) code must be
augmented to provide an additional ID parameter to acpi_dma_configure()
representing the child devices input ID. This ID is bus specific
and it is retrieved in bus specific code.
By adding an ID parameter to acpi_dma_configure(), the IORT
code can map the child device ID to an IOMMU stream ID through
the IORT named component representing the bus in/out ID mappings.

ACPICA commit 7ba2f3d91a32f104765961fda0ed78b884ae193d
The current codebase makes use of one-element arrays in the following
form:
struct something {
int length;
u8 data[1];
};
struct something *instance;
instance = kmalloc(sizeof(*instance) + size, GFP_KERNEL);
instance->length = size;
memcpy(instance->data, source, size);
but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as
these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo array[];
};
By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure,
which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from
being inadvertently introduced[3] to the linux codebase from now on.
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle and audited _manually_.

The ACPICA's strategy with respect to the handling of memory mappings
associated with memory operation regions is to avoid mapping the
entire region at once which may be problematic at least in principle
(for example, it may lead to conflicts with overlapping mappings
having different attributes created by drivers). It may also be
wasteful, because memory opregions on some systems take up vast
chunks of address space while the fields in those regions actually
accessed by AML are sparsely distributed.
For this reason, a one-page "window" is mapped for a given opregion
on the first memory access through it and if that "window" does not
cover an address range accessed through that opregion subsequently,
it is unmapped and a new "window" is mapped to replace it. Next,
if the new "window" is not sufficient to acess memory through the
opregion in question in the future, it will be replaced with yet
another "window" and so on. That may lead to a suboptimal sequence
of memory mapping and unmapping operations, for example if two fields
in one opregion separated from each other by a sufficiently wide
chunk of unused address space are accessed in an alternating pattern.
The situation may still be suboptimal if the deferred unmapping
introduced previously is supported by the OS layer. For instance,
the alternating memory access pattern mentioned above may produce
a relatively long list of mappings to release with substantial
duplication among the entries in it, which could be avoided if
acpi_ex_system_memory_space_handler() did not release the mapping
used by it previously as soon as the current access was not covered
by it.
In order to improve that, modify acpi_ex_system_memory_space_handler()
to preserve all of the memory mappings created by it until the memory
regions associated with them go away.
Accordingly, update acpi_ev_system_memory_region_setup() to unmap all
memory associated with memory opregions that go away.

Minimum Length (u32) and Log Area Start Address (u64). So, we define
a new structure acpi_tpm2_phy that holds these optional new fields.
The new fields allow non-UEFI systems to access the TPM2's log.

memory_failure() offlines or repairs pages of memory that have been
discovered to be corrupt. These may be detected by an external
component, (e.g. the memory controller), and notified via an IRQ.
In this case the work is queued as not all of memory_failure()s work
can happen in IRQ context.
If the error was detected as a result of user-space accessing a
corrupt memory location the CPU may take an abort instead. On arm64
this is a 'synchronous external abort', and on a firmware first
system it is replayed using NOTIFY_SEA.
This notification has NMI like properties, (it can interrupt
IRQ-masked code), so the memory_failure() work is queued. If we
return to user-space before the queued memory_failure() work is
processed, we will take the fault again. This loop may cause platform
firmware to exceed some threshold and reboot when Linux could have
recovered from this error.
For NMIlike notifications keep track of whether memory_failure() work
was queued, and make task_work pending to flush out the queue.
To save memory allocations, the task_work is allocated as part of
the ghes_estatus_node, and free()ing it back to the pool is deferred.

With a recent fix to the pinctrl-cherryview driver we now have
2 drivers open-coding the parameter building / passing for calling
_REG on an ACPI handle.
Add a helper for this, so that these 2 drivers can be converted to this
helper.

Similar to commit 0266d81e9b ("acpi/processor: Prevent cpu hotplug
deadlock") except this is for acpi_processor_ffh_cstate_probe():
"The problem is that the work is scheduled on the current CPU from the
hotplug thread associated with that CPU.
It's not required to invoke these functions via the workqueue because
the hotplug thread runs on the target CPU already.
Check whether current is a per cpu thread pinned on the target CPU and
invoke the function directly to avoid the workqueue."

"The main changes in this cycle were:
- Continued user-access cleanups in the futex code.
- percpu-rwsem rewrite that uses its own waitqueue and atomic_t
instead of an embedded rwsem. This addresses a couple of
weaknesses, but the primary motivation was complications on the -rt
kernel.
- Introduce raw lock nesting detection on lockdep
(CONFIG_PROVE_RAW_LOCK_NESTING=y), document the raw_lock vs. normal
lock differences. This too originates from -rt.
- Reuse lockdep zapped chain_hlocks entries, to conserve RAM
footprint on distro-ish kernels running into the "BUG:
MAX_LOCKDEP_CHAIN_HLOCKS too low!" depletion of the lockdep
chain-entries pool.
- Misc cleanups, smaller fixes and enhancements - see the changelog

endpoints for Intel SST (Smart Sound Technology) DSP products.
Similarly to other ACPI tables, data provided by BIOS may not
describe it correctly, thus overriding is required.
ACPI override mechanism checks for unknown signature before
proceeding. Update known signatures array to support NHLT.

The check carried out by acpi_any_gpe_status_set() is not precise enough
for the suspend-to-idle implementation in Linux and in some cases it is
necessary make it skip one GPE (specifically, the EC GPE) from the check
to prevent a race condition leading to a premature system resume from
occurring.
For this reason, redefine acpi_any_gpe_status_set() to take the number

up the system too and broke RTC wakeup from suspend-to-idle as a

Fix this issue by checking the fixed events in acpi_s2idle_wake() in
addition to checking wakeup GPEs and break out of the suspend-to-idle
loop if the status bits of any enabled fixed events are set then.

For unloading an ACPI table, it is necessary to provide the index of
the table. The method intended for dynamically loading or hotplug
addition of tables, acpi_load_table(), should provide this information
via an optional pointer to the loaded table index.

Replace the CPU device PM QoS used for the management of min and max
frequency constraints in cpufreq (and its users) with per-policy
frequency QoS to avoid problems with cpufreq policies covering
more then one CPU.
Namely, a cpufreq driver is registered with the subsys interface
which calls cpufreq_add_dev() for each CPU, starting from CPU0, so
currently the PM QoS notifiers are added to the first CPU in the
policy (i.e. CPU0 in the majority of cases).
In turn, when the cpufreq driver is unregistered, the subsys interface
doing that calls cpufreq_remove_dev() for each CPU, starting from CPU0,
and the PM QoS notifiers are only removed when cpufreq_remove_dev() is
called for the last CPU in the policy, say CPUx, which as a rule is
not CPU0 if the policy covers more than one CPU. Then, the PM QoS
notifiers cannot be removed, because CPUx does not have them, and
they are still there in the device PM QoS notifiers list of CPU0,
which prevents new PM QoS notifiers from being registered for CPU0
on the next attempt to register the cpufreq driver.
The same issue occurs when the first CPU in the policy goes offline
before unregistering the driver.
After this change it does not matter which CPU is the policy CPU at
the driver registration time and whether or not it is online all the
time, because the frequency QoS is per policy and not per CPU.

With some upcoming patches to save/restore the Hyper-V drivers related
states, a Linux VM running on Hyper-V will be able to hibernate. When
a Linux VM hibernates, unluckily we must disable the memory hot-add/remove
and balloon up/down capabilities in the hv_balloon driver
(drivers/hv/hv_balloon.c), because these can not really work according to
the design of the related back-end driver on the host.
By default, Hyper-V does not enable the virtual ACPI S4 state for a VM;
on recent Hyper-V hosts, the administrator is able to enable the virtual
ACPI S4 state for a VM, so we hope to use the presence of the virtual ACPI
S4 state as a hint for hv_balloon to disable the aforementioned
capabilities. In this way, hibernation will work more reliably, from the
user's perspective.
By marking acpi_sleep_state_supported() non-static, we'll be able to
implement a hv_is_hibernation_supported() API in the always-built-in
module arch/x86/hyperv/hv_init.c, and the API will be called by hv_balloon.

If there are shared power resources between otherwise unrelated devices
turning them on causes the other devices sharing them to be powered up
as well. In case of PCI devices go into D0uninitialized state meaning
that if they were configured to trigger wake that configuration is lost
at this point.
For this reason introduce a concept of "_PR0 dependent device" that can
be added to any ACPI device that has power resources. The dependent
device will be included in a list of dependent devices for all power
resources returned by the ACPI device's _PR0 (assuming it has one).
Whenever a power resource having dependent devices is turned physically
on (its _ON method is called) we runtime resume all of them to allow
their driver or in case of PCI the PCI core to re-initialize the device
and its wake configuration.
This adds two functions that can be used to add and remove these
dependent devices. Note the dependent device does not necessary need
share power resources so this functionality can be used to add "software
dependencies" as well if needed.

Standards such as the MIPI DisCo for SoundWire 1.0 specification
assume the _ADR field is 64 bits.
_ADR is defined as an "Integer" represented as 64 bits since ACPI 2.0
released in 2002. The low levels already use _ADR as 64 bits, e.g. in
struct acpi_device_info.
This patch bumps the representation used for sysfs to 64 bits. To
avoid any compatibility/ABI issues, the printf format is only extended
to 16 characters when the actual _ADR value exceeds the 32 bit
maximum.
Example with a SoundWire device, the results show the complete
vendorID and linkID which were omitted before:
Before:
$ more /sys/bus/acpi/devices/device\:38/adr
0x5d070000
After:
$ more /sys/bus/acpi/devices/device\:38/adr

ACPICA commit 47f5607c204719d9239a12b889df725225098c8f
Module-level code refers to executable ASL code that runs during
table load. This is typically used in ASL to declare named objects
based on a condition evaluated during table load like so:
definition_block(...)
{
opreation_region (OPR1, system_memory, ...)
Field (OPR1)
{
FLD1, 8 /* Assume that FLD1's value is 0x1 */
}
/* The if statement below is referred to as module-level code */
If (FLD1)
{
/* Declare DEV1 conditionally */
Device (DEV1) {...}
}
Device (DEV2)
{
...
}
}
In legacy module-level code, the execution of the If statement
was deferred after other modules were loaded. The order of
code execution for the table above is the following:
1.) Load OPR1 to the ACPI Namespace
2.) Load FLD1 to the ACPI Namespace (not intended for drivers)
3.) Load DEV2 to the ACPI Namespace
4.) Execute If (FLD1) and load DEV1 if the condition is true
This legacy approach can be problematic for tables that look like the
following:
definition_block(...)
{
opreation_region (OPR1, system_memory, ...)
Field (OPR1)
{
FLD1, 8 /* Assume that FLD1's value is 0x1 */
}
/* The if statement below is referred to as module-level code */
If (FLD1)
{
/* Declare DEV1 conditionally */
Device (DEV1) {...}
}
Scope (DEV1)
{
/* Add objects DEV1's scope */
Name (OBJ1, 0x1234)
}
}
When loading this in the legacy approach, Scope DEV1 gets evaluated
before the If statement. The following is the order of execution:
1.) Load OPR1 to the ACPI Namespace
2.) Load FLD1 to the ACPI Namespace (not intended for drivers)
3.) Add OBJ1 under DEV1's scope -- ERROR. DEV1 does not exist
4.) Execute If (FLD1) and load DEV1 if the condition is true
The legacy approach can never succeed for tables like this due to the
deferral of the module-level code. Due to this limitation, a new
module-level code was developed. This new approach exeutes if
statements in the order that they appear in the definition block.
With this approach, the order of execution for the above defintion
block is as follows:
1.) Load OPR1 to the ACPI Namespace
2.) Load FLD1 to the ACPI Namespace (not intended for drivers)
3.) Execute If (FLD1) and load DEV1 because the condition is true
4.) Add OBJ1 under DEV1's scope.
Since DEV1 is loaded in the namespace in step 3, step 4 executes
successfully.
This change removes support for the legacy module-level code
execution. From this point onward, the new module-level code
execution will be the official approach.

ghes_read_estatus() sets a flag in struct ghes if the buffer of
CPER records needs to be cleared once the records have been
processed. This flag value is a problem if a struct ghes can be
processed concurrently, as happens at probe time if an NMI arrives
for the same error source. The NMI clears the flag, meaning the
interrupted handler may never do the ghes_estatus_clear() work.
The GHES_TO_CLEAR flags is only set at the same time as
buffer_paddr, which is now owned by the caller and passed to
ghes_clear_estatus(). Use this value as the flag.
A non-zero buf_paddr returned by ghes_read_estatus() means
ghes_clear_estatus() should clear this address. ghes_read_estatus()
already checks for a read of error_status_address being zero,
so CPER records cannot be written here.

When CPER records are found the address of the records is stashed
in the struct ghes. Once the records have been processed, this
address is overwritten with zero so that it won't be processed
again without being re-populated by firmware.
This goes wrong if a struct ghes can be processed concurrently,
as can happen at probe time when an NMI occurs. If the NMI arrives
on another CPU, the probing CPU may call ghes_clear_estatus() on the
records before the handler had finished with them.
Even on the same CPU, once the interrupted handler is resumed, it
will call ghes_clear_estatus() on the NMIs records, this memory may
have already been re-used by firmware.
Avoid this stashing by letting the caller hold the address. A
later patch will do away with the use of ghes->flags in the
read/clear code too.

size is capped to 64K. Allocate this for each ghes and drop
the code that grows and shrinks the pool.

ghes.c has a memory pool it uses for the estatus cache and the estatus
queue. The cache is initialised when registering the platform driver.
For the queue, an NMI-like notification has to grow/shrink the pool
as it is registered and unregistered.
This is all pretty noisy when adding new NMI-like notifications, it
would be better to replace this with a static pool size based on the
number of users.
As a precursor, move the call that creates the pool from ghes_init(),
into hest.c. Later this will take the number of ghes entries and
consolidate the queue allocations.
Remove ghes_estatus_pool_exit() as hest.c doesn't have anywhere to put
this.
The pool is now initialised as part of ACPI's subsys_initcall():
(acpi_init(), acpi_scan_init(), acpi_pci_root_init(), acpi_hest_init())
Before this patch it happened later as a GHES specific device_initcall().

No need for the array of structs of function pointers when we can just

This could be further cleaned up if acpi_gbl_reduced_hardware was defined
true in the ACPI_REDUCED_HARDWARE case, but that's material for the next

Pull power management updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"These make hibernation on 32-bit x86 systems work in all of the cases
in which it works on 64-bit x86 ones, update the menu cpuidle governor
and the "polling" state to make them more efficient, add more hardware
support to cpufreq drivers and fix issues with some of them, fix a bug
in the conservative cpufreq governor, fix the operating performance
points (OPP) framework and make it more stable, update the devfreq
subsystem to take changes in the APIs used by into account and clean
up some things all over.
Specifics:
- Backport hibernation bug fixes from x86-64 to x86-32 and
consolidate hibernation handling on x86 to allow 32-bit systems to
work in all of the cases in which 64-bit ones work (Zhimin Gu, Chen
Yu).
- Fix hibernation documentation (Vladimir D. Seleznev).
- Update the menu cpuidle governor to fix a couple of issues with it,
make it more efficient in some cases and clean it up (Rafael
Wysocki).
- Rework the cpuidle polling state implementation to make it more
efficient (Rafael Wysocki).
- Clean up the cpuidle core somewhat (Fieah Lim).
- Fix the cpufreq conservative governor to take policy limits into
account properly in some cases (Rafael Wysocki).
- Add support for retrieving guaranteed performance information to
the ACPI CPPC library and make the intel_pstate driver use it to
expose the CPU base frequency via sysfs on systems with the
hardware-managed P-states (HWP) feature enabled (Srinivas
Pandruvada).
- Fix clang warning in the CPPC cpufreq driver (Nathan Chancellor).
- Get rid of device_node.name printing from cpufreq (Rob Herring).
- Remove unnecessary unlikely() from the cpufreq core (Igor Stoppa).
- Add support for the r8a7744 SoC to the cpufreq-dt driver (Biju
Das).
- Update the dt-platdev cpufreq driver to allow RK3399 to have
separate tunables per cluster (Dmitry Torokhov).
- Fix the dma_alloc_coherent() usage in the tegra186 cpufreq driver
(Christoph Hellwig).
- Make the imx6q cpufreq driver read OCOTP through nvmem for
imx6ul/imx6ull (Anson Huang).
- Fix several bugs in the operating performance points (OPP)
framework and make it more stable (Viresh Kumar, Dave Gerlach).
- Update the devfreq subsystem to take changes in the APIs used by
into account, fix some issues with it and make it stop print
device_node.name directly (Bjorn Andersson, Enric Balletbo i Serra,
Matthias Kaehlcke, Rob Herring, Vincent Donnefort, zhong jiang).
- Prepare the generic power domains (genpd) framework for dealing
with domains containing CPUs (Ulf Hansson).
- Prevent sysfs attributes representing low-power S0 residency
counters from being exposed if low-power S0 support is not
indicated in ACPI FADT (Rajneesh Bhardwaj).
- Get rid of custom CPU features macros for Intel CPUs from the
intel_idle and RAPL drivers (Andy Shevchenko).
- Update the tasks freezer to list tasks that refused to freeze and
caused a system transition to a sleep state to be aborted (Todd
Brandt).
- Update the pm-graph set of tools to v5.2 (Todd Brandt).
- Fix some issues in the cpupower utility (Anders Roxell, Prarit
Bhargava)"

acpi_gbl_group_module_level_code and acpi_gbl_execute_tables_as_methods were
used to enable different table load behavior. The different table
load behaviors are as follows:
A.) acpi_gbl_group_module_level_code enabled the legacy approach where
ASL if statements are executed after the namespace object has
been loaded.
B.) acpi_gbl_execute_tables_as_methods is currently used to enable the
table load to be a method invocation. This meaning that ASL If
statements are executed in-line rather than deferred until after
the ACPI namespace has been populated. This is the correct
behavior and option A will be removed in the future.
We do not support a table load behavior where these variables are
assigned the same value. In otherwords, we only support option A or B
and do not need acpi_gbl_group_module_level_code to enable A. From now on,
acpi_gbl_execute_tables_as_methods == 0 enables option A and
acpi_gbl_execute_tables_as_methods == 1 enables option B.
Note: option A is expected to be removed in the future and option B
will become the only supported table load behavior.

It is possible to have _DSD entries where the data is compatible with
device properties format but are using different GUID for various reasons.
In addition to that there can be many such _DSD entries for a single device
such as for PCIe root port used to host a Thunderbolt hierarchy:
Scope (\_SB.PCI0.RP21)
{
Name (_DSD, Package () {
ToUUID ("6211e2c0-58a3-4af3-90e1-927a4e0c55a4"),
Package () {
Package () {"HotPlugSupportInD3", 1}
},
ToUUID ("efcc06cc-73ac-4bc3-bff0-76143807c389"),
Package () {
Package () {"ExternalFacingPort", 1},
Package () {"UID", 0 }
}
})
}
More information about these new _DSD entries can be found in:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/pci/dsd-for-pcie-root-ports
To make these available for drivers via unified device property APIs,
modify ACPI property core so that it supports multiple _DSD entries
organized in a linked list. We also store GUID of each _DSD entry in struct
acpi_device_properties in case there is need to differentiate between
entries. The supported GUIDs are then listed in prp_guids array.

Merge ACPI x86-specific changes, core updates, EC driver updates and
APEI support updates for 4.19.
These add a special platform driver for handling multiple I2C devices
hooked up to the same device object in the ACPI tables, add some new
quirks and remove one that is not needed any more.
* acpi-x86:
platform/x86: Add ACPI i2c-multi-instantiate pseudo driver
ACPI / x86: utils: Remove status workaround from acpi_device_always_present()
ACPI / x86: enable touchscreen on Dell Venue Pro 7139
* acpi-bus:
ACPI: bus: Fix a pointer coding style issue
Revert "ACPI / bus: Parse tables as term_list for Dell XPS 9570 and Precision M5530"
* acpi-ec:
ACPI / EC: Add another entry for Thinkpad X1 Carbon 6th
ACPI / EC: Use ec_no_wakeup on ThinkPad X1 Yoga 3rd
* acpi-apei:
arm64 / ACPI: clean the additional checks before calling ghes_notify_sea()
In order to remove the additional check before calling the
ghes_notify_sea(), make stub definition when !CONFIG_ACPI_APEI_SEA.
After this cleanup, we can simply call the ghes_notify_sea() to let
APEI driver handle the SEA notification.

PMCG nodes were added by IORT revision C, with the unfortunate oversight
that it only defined a single base address, and thus was incapable of
properly describing PMCG implementations with PMCG_CFGR.RELOC_CTRS = 1,
where the counters are in a separate page from the control registers.
Revision D corrects this by clarifying the existing field as the page 0
base address and adding a second field to describe the page 1 address
when implemented. With the spec now fit for purpose, let's support it.

IORT revision D contains a few additions and fixes to
currently-supported tables:
- SMMUv3 proximity domain field is enlarged to 4 bytes for consistency
with SRAT
- Root complex nodes gain an address size limit field equivalent to that
of named components
- Named component nodes gain a way to describe PASID (substream_ID)
support, encoded in their flags
Additionally, we fix a couple of outstanding points in passing:
- Add the stall support flag for named components defined in revision C
- Fix SMMUv3 HTTU override mask, which should always have been 2 bits
