Arnd Bergmann dc880abef7 drm: use noop_llseek
The drm device drivers currently allow seeking on the
character device but never care about the actual
file position.

When we change the default llseek operation to be
no_llseek, calling llseek on a drm device would
return an error condition, which is an API change.

Explicitly setting noop_llseek lets us keep the
current API.

Randy Dunlap 39d709392f docbook: skip files with no docs since they generate scary warnings
Fix docbook templates that reference files that do not contain the
expected kernel-doc notation.

Fixes these warnings:

  Warning(arch/x86/include/asm/unaligned.h): no structured comments found
  Warning(lib/vsprintf.c): no structured comments found

These cause errors in the generated html output, like below, so drop
these lines.

  Name
  arch/x86/include/asm/unaligned.h - Document generation inconsistency
  Oops
  Warning
  The template for this document tried to insert the structured comment from the file arch/x86/include/asm/unaligned.h at this point, but none was found. This dummy section is inserted to allow generation to continue.

Stefan Richter 1ee4168057 Documentation: kernel-locking: mutex_trylock cannot be used in interrupt context
Chapter 6 is right about mutex_trylock, but chapter 10 wasn't. This error
was introduced during semaphore-to-mutex conversion of the Unreliable
guide.  :-)

If user context which performs mutex_lock() or mutex_trylock() is
preempted by interrupt context which performs mutex_trylock() on the same
mutex instance, a deadlock occurs. This is because these functions do not
disable local IRQs when they operate on mutex->wait_lock.

Johannes Berg ab265d5cdd docbook: use IDs as filenames to support multiple books
I'm trying to generate a <set> of <book>s in docbook for wireless to
link together all the cfg80211 and mac80211 documentation.

However, docbook will generate "re01.html" anew for each book for the
first <refentry>, presumably due to a bug in the stylesheets.

An effective workaround is to use IDs for the filenames, which makes
them more descriptive as well, e.g. API-enum-ieee80211-band.html.

Justin P. Mattock 0ea6e61122 Documentation: update broken web addresses.
Below you will find an updated version from the original series bunching all patches into one big patch
updating broken web addresses that are located in Documentation/*
Some of the addresses date as far far back as 1995 etc... so searching became a bit difficult,
the best way to deal with these is to use web.archive.org to locate these addresses that are outdated.
Now there are also some addresses pointing to .spec files some are located, but some(after searching
on the companies site)where still no where to be found. In this case I just changed the address
to the company site this way the users can contact the company and they can locate them for the users.

Daniel Mack 997ea58eb9 USB: rename usb_buffer_alloc() and usb_buffer_free() users
For more clearance what the functions actually do,

  usb_buffer_alloc() is renamed to usb_alloc_coherent()
  usb_buffer_free()  is renamed to usb_free_coherent()

They should only be used in code which really needs DMA coherency.

All call sites have been changed accordingly, except for staging
drivers.

Sergei Shtylyov 41dec29bcb libata: introduce sff_set_devctl() method
The set of libata's taskfile access methods is clearly incomplete as
it lacks a method to write to the device control register -- which
forces drivers like 'pata_bf54x' and 'pata_scc' to implement more
"high level" (and more weighty) methods like freeze() and postreset().

So, introduce the optional sff_set_devctl() method which the drivers
only have to implement if the standard iowrite8() can't be used (just
like the existing sff_check_altstatus() method) and make use of it
in the freeze() and postreset() method implementations (I could also
have used it in softreset() method but it also reads other taskfile
registers without using tf_read() making that quite pointless);
this makes freeze() method implementations in the 'pata_bf54x' and
'pata_scc' methods virtually identical to ata_sff_freeze(), so we
can get rid of them completely.

Sergei Shtylyov 40868c85b8 libata: Fix several inaccuracies in developer's guide
Commit 6bfff31e77 (libata: kill probe_ent
and related helpers) killed ata_device_add() but didn't remove references
to it from the libata developer's guide.

Commits 9363c3825e (libata: rename SFF
functions) and 5682ed33aa (libata: rename
SFF port ops) renamed the taskfile access methods but didn't update the
developer's guide.  Commit c9f75b04ed
(libata: kill ata_noop_dev_select()) didn't update the developer's
guide as well.

The guide also refers to the long gone ata_pio_data_xfer_noirq(),
ata_pio_data_xfer(), and ata_mmio_data_xfer() -- replace those by
the modern ata_sff_data_xfer_noirq(), ata_sff_data_xfer(), and

Alexey Dobriyan 82c1e49ccb proc: remove docbook and example
Example is outdated, it still uses old ->read_proc interfaces and "fb"
example is plain racy. There are better examples all over the tree.

Docbook itself says almost nothing about /proc and contain quite a number
of simply wrong facts, e.g. device nodes support. What it does is
describing at great length interface which are going to be removed.

There are Documentation/filesystems/seq_file.txt in exchange.

Ben Hutchings 5bf5834738 V4L/DVB (13680b): DocBook/media: create links for included sources
If docs are being built in a separate directory, xmlto and xsltproc
can't find included sources. Make links back to the source directory.

I would much prefer to have xmlto and xsltproc look in the source
directory for included entities but couldn't see how to do that. This
needs to be solved in some way for 2.6.32, even if this patch isn't the
right way to do it.
