Linus Torvalds 7c0f6ba682 Replace <asm/uaccess.h> with <linux/uaccess.h> globally
This was entirely automated, using the script by Al:

  PATT='^[[:blank:]]*#[[:blank:]]*include[[:blank:]]*<asm/uaccess.h>'
  sed -i -e "s!$PATT!#include <linux/uaccess.h>!" \
        $(git grep -l "$PATT"|grep -v ^include/linux/uaccess.h)

to do the replacement at the end of the merge window.

Linus Torvalds 20b4fb4852 Merge branch 'for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/viro/vfs
Pull VFS updates from Al Viro,

Misc cleanups all over the place, mainly wrt /proc interfaces (switch
create_proc_entry to proc_create(), get rid of the deprecated
create_proc_read_entry() in favor of using proc_create_data() and
seq_file etc).

7kloc removed.

Al Viro d9dda78bad procfs: new helper - PDE_DATA(inode)
The only part of proc_dir_entry the code outside of fs/proc
really cares about is PDE(inode)->data. Provide a helper
for that; static inline for now, eventually will be moved
to fs/proc, along with the knowledge of struct proc_dir_entry
layout.

Alexey Dobriyan 5116fa2b3a pnpbios: convert to seq_file
Convert code away from ->read_proc/->write_proc interfaces. Switch to
proc_create()/proc_create_data() which make addition of proc entries
reliable wrt NULL ->proc_fops, NULL ->data and so on.

Problem with ->read_proc et al is described here commit
786d7e1612 "Fix rmmod/read/write races in
/proc entries"

Bjorn Helgaas dfd2e1b4e6 PNPBIOS: remove include/linux/pnpbios.h
The contents of include/linux/pnpbios.h are used only inside the PNPBIOS
backend, so this file doesn't need to be visible outside PNP.

This patch moves the contents into an existing PNPBIOS-specific file,
drivers/pnp/pnpbios/pnpbios.h.

Jesper Juhl a8b0ac0873 pnp: avoid a small unlikely memory leak in proc_read_escd()
There's a small and unlikely memory leak in
drivers/pnp/pnpbios/proc.c::proc_read_escd().  It's inside a sanity check,
so it probably won't trigger often (if at all), however it *is* a potential
leak and it's easy to avoid, so let's just fix it :)

Bjorn Helgaas a2822e7f00 [PATCH] pnp: consolidate kmalloc wrappers
ISAPNP, PNPBIOS, and PNPACPI all had their own kmalloc wrappers that
reimplemented kcalloc(). Remove the wrappers and just use kcalloc()
directly.

Note that this also removes the PNPBIOS error message when the kmalloc
fails.

Linus Torvalds 1da177e4c3 Linux-2.6.12-rc2
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!
