pull-request: bpf-next 2021-02-16

The following pull-request contains BPF updates for your *net-next* tree.

There's a small merge conflict between 7eeba1706e ("tcp: Add receive timestamp
support for receive zerocopy.") from net-next tree and 9cacf81f81 ("bpf: Remove
extra lock_sock for TCP_ZEROCOPY_RECEIVE") from bpf-next tree. Resolve as follows:

  [...]
                lock_sock(sk);
                err = tcp_zerocopy_receive(sk, &zc, &tss);
                err = BPF_CGROUP_RUN_PROG_GETSOCKOPT_KERN(sk, level, optname,
                                                          &zc, &len, err);
                release_sock(sk);
  [...]

We've added 116 non-merge commits during the last 27 day(s) which contain
a total of 156 files changed, 5662 insertions(+), 1489 deletions(-).

Stanislav Fomichev 772412176f bpf: Allow rewriting to ports under ip_unprivileged_port_start
At the moment, BPF_CGROUP_INET{4,6}_BIND hooks can rewrite user_port
to the privileged ones (< ip_unprivileged_port_start), but it will
be rejected later on in the __inet_bind or __inet6_bind.

Let's add another return value to indicate that CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE
check should be ignored. Use the same idea as we currently use
in cgroup/egress where bit #1 indicates CN. Instead, for
cgroup/bind{4,6}, bit #1 indicates that CAP_NET_BIND_SERVICE should
be bypassed.

v5:
- rename flags to be less confusing (Andrey Ignatov)
- rework BPF_PROG_CGROUP_INET_EGRESS_RUN_ARRAY to work on flags
  and accept BPF_RET_SET_CN (no behavioral changes)

v4:
- Add missing IPv6 support (Martin KaFai Lau)

v3:
- Update description (Martin KaFai Lau)
- Fix capability restore in selftest (Martin KaFai Lau)

v2:
- Switch to explicit return code (Martin KaFai Lau)

Loris Reiff bb8b81e396 bpf, cgroup: Fix optlen WARN_ON_ONCE toctou
A toctou issue in `__cgroup_bpf_run_filter_getsockopt` can trigger a
WARN_ON_ONCE in a check of `copy_from_user`.

`*optlen` is checked to be non-negative in the individual getsockopt

Stanislav Fomichev a9ed15dae0 bpf: Split cgroup_bpf_enabled per attach type
When we attach any cgroup hook, the rest (even if unused/unattached) start
to contribute small overhead. In particular, the one we want to avoid is
__cgroup_bpf_run_filter_skb which does two redirections to get to
the cgroup and pushes/pulls skb.

Let's split cgroup_bpf_enabled to be per-attach to make sure
only used attach types trigger.

I've dropped some existing high-level cgroup_bpf_enabled in some
places because BPF_PROG_CGROUP_XXX_RUN macros usually have another
cgroup_bpf_enabled check.

I also had to copy-paste BPF_CGROUP_RUN_SA_PROG_LOCK for
GETPEERNAME/GETSOCKNAME because type for cgroup_bpf_enabled[type]
has to be constant and known at compile time.

Stanislav Fomichev 20f2505fb4 bpf: Try to avoid kzalloc in cgroup/{s,g}etsockopt
When we attach a bpf program to cgroup/getsockopt any other getsockopt()
syscall starts incurring kzalloc/kfree cost.

Let add a small buffer on the stack and use it for small (majority)
{s,g}etsockopt values. The buffer is small enough to fit into
the cache line and cover the majority of simple options (most
of them are 4 byte ints).

It seems natural to do the same for setsockopt, but it's a bit more
involved when the BPF program modifies the data (where we have to
kmalloc). The assumption is that for the majority of setsockopt
calls (which are doing pure BPF options or apply policy) this
will bring some benefit as well.

Without this patch (we remove about 1% __kmalloc):
     3.38%     0.07%  tcp_mmap  [kernel.kallsyms]  [k] __cgroup_bpf_run_filter_getsockopt

Stanislav Fomichev 9cacf81f81 bpf: Remove extra lock_sock for TCP_ZEROCOPY_RECEIVE
Add custom implementation of getsockopt hook for TCP_ZEROCOPY_RECEIVE.
We skip generic hooks for TCP_ZEROCOPY_RECEIVE and have a custom
call in do_tcp_getsockopt using the on-stack data. This removes
3% overhead for locking/unlocking the socket.

Andrii Nakryiko 73b11c2ab0 bpf: Add support for forced LINK_DETACH command
Add LINK_DETACH command to force-detach bpf_link without destroying it. It has
the same behavior as auto-detaching of bpf_link due to cgroup dying for
bpf_cgroup_link or net_device being destroyed for bpf_xdp_link. In such case,
bpf_link is still a valid kernel object, but is defuncts and doesn't hold BPF
program attached to corresponding BPF hook. This functionality allows users
with enough access rights to manually force-detach attached bpf_link without
killing respective owner process.

This patch implements LINK_DETACH for cgroup, xdp, and netns links, mostly
re-using existing link release handling code.

YiFei Zhu 7d9c342789 bpf: Make cgroup storages shared between programs on the same cgroup
This change comes in several parts:

One, the restriction that the CGROUP_STORAGE map can only be used
by one program is removed. This results in the removal of the field
'aux' in struct bpf_cgroup_storage_map, and removal of relevant
code associated with the field, and removal of now-noop functions
bpf_free_cgroup_storage and bpf_cgroup_storage_release.

Second, we permit a key of type u64 as the key to the map.
Providing such a key type indicates that the map should ignore
attach type when comparing map keys. However, for simplicity newly
linked storage will still have the attach type at link time in
its key struct. cgroup_storage_check_btf is adapted to accept
u64 as the type of the key.

Third, because the storages are now shared, the storages cannot
be unconditionally freed on program detach. There could be two
ways to solve this issue:
* A. Reference count the usage of the storages, and free when the
     last program is detached.
* B. Free only when the storage is impossible to be referred to
     again, i.e. when either the cgroup_bpf it is attached to, or
     the map itself, is freed.
Option A has the side effect that, when the user detach and
reattach a program, whether the program gets a fresh storage
depends on whether there is another program attached using that
storage. This could trigger races if the user is multi-threaded,
and since nondeterminism in data races is evil, go with option B.

The both the map and the cgroup_bpf now tracks their associated
storages, and the storage unlink and free are removed from
cgroup_bpf_detach and added to cgroup_bpf_release and
cgroup_storage_map_free. The latter also new holds the cgroup_mutex
to prevent any races with the former.

Fourth, on attach, we reuse the old storage if the key already
exists in the map, via cgroup_storage_lookup. If the storage
does not exist yet, we create a new one, and publish it at the
last step in the attach process. This does not create a race
condition because for the whole attach the cgroup_mutex is held.
We keep track of an array of new storages that was allocated
and if the process fails only the new storages would get freed.

Stanislav Fomichev d8fe449a9c bpf: Don't return EINVAL from {get,set}sockopt when optlen > PAGE_SIZE
Attaching to these hooks can break iptables because its optval is
usually quite big, or at least bigger than the current PAGE_SIZE limit.
David also mentioned some SCTP options can be big (around 256k).

For such optvals we expose only the first PAGE_SIZE bytes to
the BPF program. BPF program has two options:
1. Set ctx->optlen to 0 to indicate that the BPF's optval
   should be ignored and the kernel should use original userspace
   value.
2. Set ctx->optlen to something that's smaller than the PAGE_SIZE.

v5:
* use ctx->optlen == 0 with trimmed buffer (Alexei Starovoitov)
* update the docs accordingly

v4:
* use temporary buffer to avoid optval == optval_end == NULL;
  this removes the corner case in the verifier that might assume
  non-zero PTR_TO_PACKET/PTR_TO_PACKET_END.

v3:
* don't increase the limit, bypass the argument

v2:
* proper comments formatting (Jakub Kicinski)

Lorenz Bauer 248e00ac47 bpf: cgroup: Allow multi-attach program to replace itself
When using BPF_PROG_ATTACH to attach a program to a cgroup in
BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI mode, it is not possible to replace a program
with itself. This is because the check for duplicate programs
doesn't take the replacement program into account.

Replacing a program with itself might seem weird, but it has
some uses: first, it allows resetting the associated cgroup storage.
Second, it makes the API consistent with the non-ALLOW_MULTI usage,
where it is possible to replace a program with itself. Third, it
aligns BPF_PROG_ATTACH with bpf_link, where replacing itself is
also supported.

Stanislav Fomichev 0456ea170c bpf: Enable more helpers for BPF_PROG_TYPE_CGROUP_{DEVICE,SYSCTL,SOCKOPT}
Currently the following prog types don't fall back to bpf_base_func_proto()
(instead they have cgroup_base_func_proto which has a limited set of
helpers from bpf_base_func_proto):
* BPF_PROG_TYPE_CGROUP_DEVICE
* BPF_PROG_TYPE_CGROUP_SYSCTL
* BPF_PROG_TYPE_CGROUP_SOCKOPT

I don't see any specific reason why we shouldn't use bpf_base_func_proto(),
every other type of program (except bpf-lirc and, understandably, tracing)
use it, so let's fall back to bpf_base_func_proto for those prog types
as well.

This basically boils down to adding access to the following helpers:
* BPF_FUNC_get_prandom_u32
* BPF_FUNC_get_smp_processor_id
* BPF_FUNC_get_numa_node_id
* BPF_FUNC_tail_call
* BPF_FUNC_ktime_get_ns
* BPF_FUNC_spin_lock (CAP_SYS_ADMIN)
* BPF_FUNC_spin_unlock (CAP_SYS_ADMIN)
* BPF_FUNC_jiffies64 (CAP_SYS_ADMIN)

I've also added bpf_perf_event_output() because it's really handy for
logging and debugging.

Andrii Nakryiko 0c991ebc8c bpf: Implement bpf_prog replacement for an active bpf_cgroup_link
Add new operation (LINK_UPDATE), which allows to replace active bpf_prog from
under given bpf_link. Currently this is only supported for bpf_cgroup_link,
but will be extended to other kinds of bpf_links in follow-up patches.

For bpf_cgroup_link, implemented functionality matches existing semantics for
direct bpf_prog attachment (including BPF_F_REPLACE flag). User can either
unconditionally set new bpf_prog regardless of which bpf_prog is currently
active under given bpf_link, or, optionally, can specify expected active
bpf_prog. If active bpf_prog doesn't match expected one, no changes are
performed, old bpf_link stays intact and attached, operation returns
a failure.

cgroup_bpf_replace() operation is resolving race between auto-detachment and
bpf_prog update in the same fashion as it's done for bpf_link detachment,
except in this case update has no way of succeeding because of target cgroup
marked as dying. So in this case error is returned.

Andrii Nakryiko af6eea5743 bpf: Implement bpf_link-based cgroup BPF program attachment
Implement new sub-command to attach cgroup BPF programs and return FD-based
bpf_link back on success. bpf_link, once attached to cgroup, cannot be
replaced, except by owner having its FD. Cgroup bpf_link supports only
BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI semantics. Both link-based and prog-based BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI
attachments can be freely intermixed.

To prevent bpf_cgroup_link from keeping cgroup alive past the point when no
BPF program can be executed, implement auto-detachment of link. When
cgroup_bpf_release() is called, all attached bpf_links are forced to release
cgroup refcounts, but they leave bpf_link otherwise active and allocated, as
well as still owning underlying bpf_prog. This is because user-space might
still have FDs open and active, so bpf_link as a user-referenced object can't
be freed yet. Once last active FD is closed, bpf_link will be freed and
underlying bpf_prog refcount will be dropped. But cgroup refcount won't be
touched, because cgroup is released already.

The inherent race between bpf_cgroup_link release (from closing last FD) and
cgroup_bpf_release() is resolved by both operations taking cgroup_mutex. So
the only additional check required is when bpf_cgroup_link attempts to detach
itself from cgroup. At that time we need to check whether there is still
cgroup associated with that link. And if not, exit with success, because
bpf_cgroup_link was already successfully detached.

Roman Gushchin e10360f815 bpf: cgroup: prevent out-of-order release of cgroup bpf
Before commit 4bfc0bb2c6 ("bpf: decouple the lifetime of cgroup_bpf from cgroup itself")
cgroup bpf structures were released with
corresponding cgroup structures. It guaranteed the hierarchical order
of destruction: children were always first. It preserved attached
programs from being released before their propagated copies.

But with cgroup auto-detachment there are no such guarantees anymore:
cgroup bpf is released as soon as the cgroup is offline and there are
no live associated sockets. It means that an attached program can be
detached and released, while its propagated copy is still living
in the cgroup subtree. This will obviously lead to an use-after-free
bug.

To reproduce the issue the following script can be used:

  #!/bin/bash

  CGROOT=/sys/fs/cgroup

  mkdir -p ${CGROOT}/A ${CGROOT}/B ${CGROOT}/A/C
  sleep 1

  ./test_cgrp2_attach ${CGROOT}/A egress &
  A_PID=$!
  ./test_cgrp2_attach ${CGROOT}/B egress &
  B_PID=$!

  echo $$ > ${CGROOT}/A/C/cgroup.procs
  iperf -s &
  S_PID=$!
  iperf -c localhost -t 100 &
  C_PID=$!

  sleep 1

  echo $$ > ${CGROOT}/B/cgroup.procs
  echo ${S_PID} > ${CGROOT}/B/cgroup.procs
  echo ${C_PID} > ${CGROOT}/B/cgroup.procs

  sleep 1

  rmdir ${CGROOT}/A/C
  rmdir ${CGROOT}/A

  sleep 1

  kill -9 ${S_PID} ${C_PID} ${A_PID} ${B_PID}

On the unpatched kernel the following stacktrace can be obtained:

Fix this by grabbing a reference to the bpf structure of each ancestor
on the initialization of the cgroup bpf structure, and dropping the
reference at the end of releasing the cgroup bpf structure.

This will restore the hierarchical order of cgroup bpf releasing,
without adding any operations on hot paths.

pull-request: bpf-next 2019-12-27

The following pull-request contains BPF updates for your *net-next* tree.

We've added 127 non-merge commits during the last 17 day(s) which contain
a total of 110 files changed, 6901 insertions(+), 2721 deletions(-).

There are three merge conflicts. Conflicts and resolution looks as follows:

1) Merge conflict in net/bpf/test_run.c:

There was a tree-wide cleanup c593642c8b ("treewide: Use sizeof_field() macro")
which gets in the way with b590cb5f80 ("bpf: Switch to offsetofend in
BPF_PROG_TEST_RUN"):

  <<<<<<< HEAD
          if (!range_is_zero(__skb, offsetof(struct __sk_buff, priority) +
                             sizeof_field(struct __sk_buff, priority),
  =======
          if (!range_is_zero(__skb, offsetofend(struct __sk_buff, priority),
  >>>>>>> 7c8dce4b16

There are a few occasions that look similar to this. Always take the chunk with
offsetofend(). Note that there is one where the fields differ in here:

  <<<<<<< HEAD
          if (!range_is_zero(__skb, offsetof(struct __sk_buff, tstamp) +
                             sizeof_field(struct __sk_buff, tstamp),
  =======
          if (!range_is_zero(__skb, offsetofend(struct __sk_buff, gso_segs),
  >>>>>>> 7c8dce4b16

Just take the one with offsetofend() /and/ gso_segs. Latter is correct due to
850a88cc40 ("bpf: Expose __sk_buff wire_len/gso_segs to BPF_PROG_TEST_RUN").

2) Merge conflict in arch/riscv/net/bpf_jit_comp.c:

(I'm keeping Bjorn in Cc here for a double-check in case I got it wrong.)

  <<<<<<< HEAD
          if (is_13b_check(off, insn))
                  return -1;
          emit(rv_blt(tcc, RV_REG_ZERO, off >> 1), ctx);
  =======
          emit_branch(BPF_JSLT, RV_REG_T1, RV_REG_ZERO, off, ctx);
  >>>>>>> 7c8dce4b16

Result should look like:

          emit_branch(BPF_JSLT, tcc, RV_REG_ZERO, off, ctx);

3) Merge conflict in arch/riscv/include/asm/pgtable.h:

  <<<<<<< HEAD

  #define VMALLOC_SIZE     (KERN_VIRT_SIZE >> 1)
  #define VMALLOC_END      (PAGE_OFFSET - 1)

  /*

   * struct pages to map half the virtual address space. Then

  #define VMEMMAP_START   (VMALLOC_START - VMEMMAP_SIZE)

  #define vmemmap         ((struct page *)VMEMMAP_START)

  >>>>>>> 7c8dce4b16

Only take the BPF_* defines from there and move them higher up in the
same file. Remove the rest from the chunk. The VMALLOC_* etc defines
got moved via 01f52e16b8 ("riscv: define vmemmap before pfn_to_page
calls"). Result:

  #define BPF_JIT_REGION_SIZE     (SZ_128M)
  #define BPF_JIT_REGION_START    (PAGE_OFFSET - BPF_JIT_REGION_SIZE)
  #define BPF_JIT_REGION_END      (VMALLOC_END)

  #define VMEMMAP_END     (VMALLOC_START - 1)
  #define VMEMMAP_START   (VMALLOC_START - VMEMMAP_SIZE)

  [...]

Let me know if there are any other issues.

Anyway, the main changes are:

1) Extend bpftool to produce a struct (aka "skeleton") tailored and specific
   to a provided BPF object file. This provides an alternative, simplified API
   compared to standard libbpf interaction. Also, add libbpf extern variable
   resolution for .kconfig section to import Kconfig data, from Andrii Nakryiko.

2) Add BPF dispatcher for XDP which is a mechanism to avoid indirect calls by
   generating a branch funnel as discussed back in bpfconf'19 at LSF/MM. Also,
   add various BPF riscv JIT improvements, from Björn Töpel.

3) Extend bpftool to allow matching BPF programs and maps by name,
   from Paul Chaignon.

4) Support for replacing cgroup BPF programs attached with BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI
   flag for allowing updates without service interruption, from Andrey Ignatov.

5) Cleanup and simplification of ring access functions for AF_XDP with a
   bonus of 0-5% performance improvement, from Magnus Karlsson.

6) Enable BPF JITs for x86-64 and arm64 by default. Also, final version of
   audit support for BPF, from Daniel Borkmann and latter with Jiri Olsa.

7) Move and extend test_select_reuseport into BPF program tests under
   BPF selftests, from Jakub Sitnicki.

8) Various BPF sample improvements for xdpsock for customizing parameters
   to set up and benchmark AF_XDP, from Jay Jayatheerthan.

9) Improve libbpf to provide a ulimit hint on permission denied errors.
   Also change XDP sample programs to attach in driver mode by default,
   from Toke Høiland-Jørgensen.

10) Extend BPF test infrastructure to allow changing skb mark from tc BPF
    programs, from Nikita V. Shirokov.

11) Optimize prologue code sequence in BPF arm32 JIT, from Russell King.

12) Fix xdp_redirect_cpu BPF sample to manually attach to tracepoints after
    libbpf conversion, from Jesper Dangaard Brouer.

13) Minor misc improvements from various others.

Andrey Ignatov 7dd68b3279 bpf: Support replacing cgroup-bpf program in MULTI mode
The common use-case in production is to have multiple cgroup-bpf
programs per attach type that cover multiple use-cases. Such programs
are attached with BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI and can be maintained by different
people.

Order of programs usually matters, for example imagine two egress
programs: the first one drops packets and the second one counts packets.
If they're swapped the result of counting program will be different.

It brings operational challenges with updating cgroup-bpf program(s)
attached with BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI since there is no way to replace a
program:

* One way to update is to detach all programs first and then attach the
  new version(s) again in the right order. This introduces an
  interruption in the work a program is doing and may not be acceptable
  (e.g. if it's egress firewall);

* Another way is attach the new version of a program first and only then
  detach the old version. This introduces the time interval when two
  versions of same program are working, what may not be acceptable if a
  program is not idempotent. It also imposes additional burden on
  program developers to make sure that two versions of their program can
  co-exist.

Solve the problem by introducing a "replace" mode in BPF_PROG_ATTACH
command for cgroup-bpf programs being attached with BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI
flag. This mode is enabled by newly introduced BPF_F_REPLACE attach flag
and bpf_attr.replace_bpf_fd attribute to pass fd of the old program to
replace

That way user can replace any program among those attached with
BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI flag without the problems described above.

Details of the new API:

* If BPF_F_REPLACE is set but replace_bpf_fd doesn't have valid
  descriptor of BPF program, BPF_PROG_ATTACH will return corresponding
  error (EINVAL or EBADF).

* If replace_bpf_fd has valid descriptor of BPF program but such a
  program is not attached to specified cgroup, BPF_PROG_ATTACH will
  return ENOENT.

BPF_F_REPLACE is introduced to make the user intent clear, since
replace_bpf_fd alone can't be used for this (its default value, 0, is a
valid fd). BPF_F_REPLACE also makes it possible to extend the API in the
future (e.g. add BPF_F_BEFORE and BPF_F_AFTER if needed).

Andrey Ignatov 1020c1f24a bpf: Simplify __cgroup_bpf_attach
__cgroup_bpf_attach has a lot of identical code to handle two scenarios:
BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI is set and unset.

Simplify it by splitting the two main steps:

* First, the decision is made whether a new bpf_prog_list entry should
  be allocated or existing entry should be reused for the new program.
  This decision is saved in replace_pl pointer;

* Next, replace_pl pointer is used to handle both possible states of
  BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI flag (set / unset) instead of doing similar work for
  them separately.

This splitting, in turn, allows to make further simplifications:

* The check for attaching same program twice in BPF_F_ALLOW_MULTI mode
  can be done before allocating cgroup storage, so that if user tries to
  attach same program twice no alloc/free happens as it was before;

* pl_was_allocated becomes redundant so it's removed.

Ilya Leoshkevich 7541c87c9b bpf: Allow narrow loads of bpf_sysctl fields with offset > 0
"ctx:file_pos sysctl:read read ok narrow" works on s390 by accident: it
reads the wrong byte, which happens to have the expected value of 0.
Improve the test by seeking to the 4th byte and expecting 4 instead of
0.

This makes the latent problem apparent: the test attempts to read the
first byte of bpf_sysctl.file_pos, assuming this is the least-significant
byte, which is not the case on big-endian machines: a non-zero offset is
needed.

The point of the test is to verify narrow loads, so we cannot cheat our
way out by simply using BPF_W. The existence of the test means that such
loads have to be supported, most likely because llvm can generate them.
Fix the test by adding a big-endian variant, which uses an offset to
access the least-significant byte of bpf_sysctl.file_pos.

This reveals the final problem: verifier rejects accesses to bpf_sysctl
fields with offset > 0. Such accesses are already allowed for a wide
range of structs: __sk_buff, bpf_sock_addr and sk_msg_md to name a few.
Extend this support to bpf_sysctl by using bpf_ctx_range instead of
offsetof when matching field offsets.

Ilya Leoshkevich d895a0f16f bpf: fix accessing bpf_sysctl.file_pos on s390
"ctx:file_pos sysctl:read write ok" fails on s390 with "Read value !=
nux". This is because verifier rewrites a complete 32-bit
bpf_sysctl.file_pos update to a partial update of the first 32 bits of
64-bit *bpf_sysctl_kern.ppos, which is not correct on big-endian
systems.

Fix by using an offset on big-endian systems.

Ditto for bpf_sysctl.file_pos reads. Currently the test does not detect
a problem there, since it expects to see 0, which it gets with high
probability in error cases, so change it to seek to offset 3 and expect
3 in bpf_sysctl.file_pos.

Since we always allocate memory, allocate just a little bit more
for the BPF program in case it need to override user input with
bigger value. The canonical example is TCP_CONGESTION where
input string might be too small to override (nv -> bbr or cubic).

16 bytes are chosen to match the size of TCP_CA_NAME_MAX and can

Stanislav Fomichev 0d01da6afc bpf: implement getsockopt and setsockopt hooks
Implement new BPF_PROG_TYPE_CGROUP_SOCKOPT program type and
BPF_CGROUP_{G,S}ETSOCKOPT cgroup hooks.

BPF_CGROUP_SETSOCKOPT can modify user setsockopt arguments before
passing them down to the kernel or bypass kernel completely.
BPF_CGROUP_GETSOCKOPT can can inspect/modify getsockopt arguments that
kernel returns.
Both hooks reuse existing PTR_TO_PACKET{,_END} infrastructure.

The buffer memory is pre-allocated (because I don't think there is
a precedent for working with __user memory from bpf). This might be
slow to do for each {s,g}etsockopt call, that's why I've added
__cgroup_bpf_prog_array_is_empty that exits early if there is nothing
attached to a cgroup. Note, however, that there is a race between
__cgroup_bpf_prog_array_is_empty and BPF_PROG_RUN_ARRAY where cgroup
program layout might have changed; this should not be a problem
because in general there is a race between multiple calls to
{s,g}etsocktop and user adding/removing bpf progs from a cgroup.

The return code of the BPF program is handled as follows:
* 0: EPERM
* 1: success, continue with next BPF program in the cgroup chain

v9:
* allow overwriting setsockopt arguments (Alexei Starovoitov):
  * use set_fs (same as kernel_setsockopt)
  * buffer is always kzalloc'd (no small on-stack buffer)

v8:
* use s32 for optlen (Andrii Nakryiko)

v7:
* return only 0 or 1 (Alexei Starovoitov)
* always run all progs (Alexei Starovoitov)
* use optval=0 as kernel bypass in setsockopt (Alexei Starovoitov)
  (decided to use optval=-1 instead, optval=0 might be a valid input)
* call getsockopt hook after kernel handlers (Alexei Starovoitov)

v6:
* rework cgroup chaining; stop as soon as bpf program returns
  0 or 2; see patch with the documentation for the details
* drop Andrii's and Martin's Acked-by (not sure they are comfortable
  with the new state of things)

v5:
* skip copy_to_user() and put_user() when ret == 0 (Martin Lau)

v4:
* don't export bpf_sk_fullsock helper (Martin Lau)
* size != sizeof(__u64) for uapi pointers (Martin Lau)
* offsetof instead of bpf_ctx_range when checking ctx access (Martin Lau)

v3:
* typos in BPF_PROG_CGROUP_SOCKOPT_RUN_ARRAY comments (Andrii Nakryiko)
* reverse christmas tree in BPF_PROG_CGROUP_SOCKOPT_RUN_ARRAY (Andrii
  Nakryiko)
* use __bpf_md_ptr instead of __u32 for optval{,_end} (Martin Lau)
* use BPF_FIELD_SIZEOF() for consistency (Martin Lau)
* new CG_SOCKOPT_ACCESS macro to wrap repeated parts

v2:
* moved bpf_sockopt_kern fields around to remove a hole (Martin Lau)
* aligned bpf_sockopt_kern->buf to 8 bytes (Martin Lau)
* bpf_prog_array_is_empty instead of bpf_prog_array_length (Martin Lau)
* added [0,2] return code check to verifier (Martin Lau)
* dropped unused buf[64] from the stack (Martin Lau)
* use PTR_TO_SOCKET for bpf_sockopt->sk (Martin Lau)
* dropped bpf_target_off from ctx rewrites (Martin Lau)
* use return code for kernel bypass (Martin Lau & Andrii Nakryiko)

Roman Gushchin e5c891a349 bpf: fix cgroup bpf release synchronization
Since commit 4bfc0bb2c6 ("bpf: decouple the lifetime of cgroup_bpf
from cgroup itself"), cgroup_bpf release occurs asynchronously
(from a worker context), and before the release of the cgroup itself.

This introduced a previously non-existing race between the release
and update paths. E.g. if a leaf's cgroup_bpf is released and a new
bpf program is attached to the one of ancestor cgroups at the same
time. The race may result in double-free and other memory corruptions.

To fix the problem, let's protect the body of cgroup_bpf_release()
with cgroup_mutex, as it was effectively previously, when all this
code was called from the cgroup release path with cgroup mutex held.

Also let's skip cgroups, which have no chances to invoke a bpf
program, on the update path. If the cgroup bpf refcnt reached 0,
it means that the cgroup is offline (no attached processes), and
there are no associated sockets left. It means there is no point
in updating effective progs array! And it can lead to a leak,
if it happens after the release. So, let's skip such cgroups.

Big thanks for Tejun Heo for discovering and debugging of this problem!

brakmo e7a3160d09 bpf: Update __cgroup_bpf_run_filter_skb with cn

Stanislav Fomichev dbcc1ba26e bpf: cgroup: properly use bpf_prog_array api
Now that we don't have __rcu markers on the bpf_prog_array helpers,
let's use proper rcu_dereference_protected to obtain array pointer

We also don't need __rcu annotations on cgroup_bpf.inactive since
it's not read/updated concurrently.

v4:
* drop cgroup_rcu_xyz wrappers and use rcu APIs directly; presumably
  should be more clear to understand which mutex/refcount protects
  each particular place

v3:
* amend cgroup_rcu_dereference to include percpu_ref_is_dying;
  cgroup_bpf is now reference counted and we don't hold cgroup_mutex

Roman Gushchin 4bfc0bb2c6 bpf: decouple the lifetime of cgroup_bpf from cgroup itself
Currently the lifetime of bpf programs attached to a cgroup is bound
to the lifetime of the cgroup itself. It means that if a user
forgets (or intentionally avoids) to detach a bpf program before
removing the cgroup, it will stay attached up to the release of the
cgroup. Since the cgroup can stay in the dying state (the state
between being rmdir()'ed and being released) for a very long time, it
leads to a waste of memory. Also, it blocks a possibility to implement
the memcg-based memory accounting for bpf objects, because a circular
reference dependency will occur. Charged memory pages are pinning the
corresponding memory cgroup, and if the memory cgroup is pinning
the attached bpf program, nothing will be ever released.

A dying cgroup can not contain any processes, so the only chance for
an attached bpf program to be executed is a live socket associated
with the cgroup. So in order to release all bpf data early, let's
count associated sockets using a new percpu refcounter. On cgroup
removal the counter is transitioned to the atomic mode, and as soon
as it reaches 0, all bpf programs are detached.

Because cgroup_bpf_release() can block, it can't be called from
the percpu ref counter callback directly, so instead an asynchronous
work is scheduled.

The reference counter is not socket specific, and can be used for any
other types of programs, which can be executed from a cgroup-bpf hook
outside of the process context, had such a need arise in the future.
