to a different type with constant struct list_head pointers, and
uses this pointer to call the functions, which trips indirect call

Instead of removing the consts, this change defines the
list_cmp_func_t type and changes the comparison function types of
all list_sort() callers to use const pointers, thus avoiding type

Currently kgdbts can get stuck waiting for do_sys_open() to be called
in some of the current tests. This is because C compilers often
automatically inline this function, which is a very thin wrapper around
do_sys_openat2(), into some of its callers. gcc-10 does this on (at least)
both x86 and arm64.
We can fix the test suite by placing the breakpoints on do_sys_openat2()
instead since that isn't (currently) inlined. However do_sys_openat2() is
a static function so we cannot simply use an addressof. Since we are
testing debug machinery it is acceptable to use kallsyms to lookup a
suitable address because this is more or less what kdb does in the same
circumstances. Re-implement lookup_addr() to be based on kallsyms rather
than function pointers.

[ 17.399766] lis3lv02d: unknown sensor type 0x0
[ 17.399804] hp_accel: probe of HPQ6007:00 failed with error -22

Before this commit lis3lv02d_get_pwron_wait() had a WARN_ONCE() to catch
a potential divide by 0. WARN macros should only be used to catch internal
kernel bugs and that is not the case here. We have been receiving a lot of
bug reports about kernel backtraces caused by this WARN.
The div value being checked comes from the lis3->odrs[] array. Which
is sized to be a power-of-2 matching the number of bits in lis3->odr_mask.
The only lis3 model where this array is not entirely filled with non zero
values. IOW the only model where we can hit the div == 0 check is the
3dc ("8 bits 3DC sensor") model:
int lis3_3dc_rates[16] = {0, 1, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 400, 1600, 5000};
Note the 0 value at index 0, according to the datasheet an odr index of 0
means "Power-down mode". HP typically uses a lis3 accelerometer for HDD
fall protection. What I believe is happening here is that on newer
HP devices, which only contain a SDD, the BIOS is leaving the lis3 device
powered-down since it is not used for HDD fall protection.
Note that the lis3_3dc_rates array initializer only specifies 10 values,
which matches the datasheet. So it also contains 6 zero values at the end.
Replace the WARN with a normal check, which treats an odr index of 0
as power-down and uses a normal dev_err() to report the error in case
odr index point past the initialized part of the array.

A device can be removed from the PCI subsystem while a process holds the
file descriptor opened.
In such a case, the driver attempts to kill the process, but as it is
still possible that the process will be alive after this step, the
device removal will complete, and we will end up with a process object
that points to a device object which was already released.
To prevent the usage of this released device object, disable the
following file operations for this process object, and avoid the cleanup
steps when the file descriptor is eventually closed.
The latter is just a best effort, as memory leak will occur.

The driver core ignores the return value of struct bus_type::remove()
because there is only little that can be done. To simplify the quest to
make this function return void, let struct vio_driver::remove() return
void, too. All users already unconditionally return 0, this commit makes
it obvious that returning an error code is a bad idea.
Note there are two nominally different implementations for a vio bus:
one in arch/sparc/kernel/vio.c and the other in
arch/powerpc/platforms/pseries/vio.c. This patch only adapts the powerpc
one.
Before this patch for a device that was bound to a driver without a
remove callback vio_cmo_bus_remove(viodev) wasn't called. As the device
core still considers the device unbound after vio_bus_remove() returns
calling this unconditionally is the consistent behaviour which is
implemented here.

Here is the large set of char/misc/whatever driver subsystem updates for
5.12-rc1. Over time it seems like this tree is collecting more and more
tiny driver subsystems in one place, making it easier for those
maintainers, which is why this is getting larger.
Included in here are:
- coresight driver updates
- habannalabs driver updates
- virtual acrn driver addition (proper acks from the x86
maintainers)
- broadcom misc driver addition
- speakup driver updates
- soundwire driver updates
- fpga driver updates
- amba driver updates
- mei driver updates
- vfio driver updates
- greybus driver updates
- nvmeem driver updates
- phy driver updates
- mhi driver updates
- interconnect driver udpates
- fsl-mc bus driver updates
- random driver fix
- some small misc driver updates (rtsx, pvpanic, etc.)
All of these have been in linux-next for a while, with the only reported
issue being a merge conflict in include/linux/mod_devicetable.h that you
will hit in your tree due to the dfl_device_id addition from the fpga
subsystem in here. The resolution should be simple.

"Clang Link Time Optimization.
This is built on the work done preparing for LTO by arm64 folks,
tracing folks, etc. This includes the core changes as well as the
remaining pieces for arm64 (LTO has been the default build method on
Android for about 3 years now, as it is the prerequisite for the
Control Flow Integrity protections).
While x86 LTO enablement is done, it depends on some pending objtool
clean-ups. It's possible that I'll send a "part 2" pull request for
LTO that includes x86 support.
For merge log posterity, and as detailed in commit dc5723b02e

The change prevents random (rare) out-of-sync errors.
- Notify F/W to start sending events only after initialization of
device is done. This fixes the issue where fatal events were received
but ignored.
- Fix integer handling (static analysis warning).
- Always fetch HBM ECC errors from F/W (if available).
- Minor fix in GAUDI-specific initialization code.

The driver core ignores the return value of mei_cl_device_remove() so
passing an error value doesn't solve any problem. As most mei drivers'
remove callbacks return 0 unconditionally and returning a different value
doesn't have any effect, change this prototype to return void and return 0
unconditionally in mei_cl_device_remove(). The only driver that could
return an error value is modified to emit an explicit warning in the error
case.

The driver core only calls a bus' remove function when there is actually
a driver and a device. So drop the needless check and assign cldrv earlier.
(Side note: The check for cldev being non-NULL is broken anyhow, because
to_mei_cl_device() is a wrapper around container_of() for a member that is
not the first one. So cldev only can become NULL if dev is (void *)0xc
(for archs with 32 bit pointers) or (void *)0x18 (for archs with 64 bit
pointers).)

Intel Moorestown and Medfield are quite old Intel Atom based
32-bit platforms, which were in limited use in some Android phones,

There are no bugs or problems ever reported outside from Intel

When using Deep learning framework such as tensorflow or pytorch, there
are tens of thousands of host memory mappings. When the user frees
all those mappings at the same time, the process of unmapping and
unpinning them can take a long time, which may cause a soft lockup
bug.
To prevent this, we need to free the core to do other things during
the unmapping process. For now, we chose to do it every 32K unmappings
(each unmap is a single 4K page).

There are some points in the reset process where if the code fails
for some reason, and the system admin tries to initiate the reset
process again we will get a kernel panic.
This is because there aren't any protections in different fini
functions that are called during the reset process.
The protections that are added in this patch make sure that if the fini
functions are called multiple times, without calling init functions
between them, there won't be double release of already released
resources.

However, if we want to map the DMA'able memory to the user via
dma_mmap_coherent(), we need to pass the original dma address, without
this offset. Otherwise, we will get erronouos mapping.

When the firmware security is enabled, the pcie_aux_dbi_reg_addr
register in the PCI controller is blocked. Therefore, ignore
the result of writing to this register and assume it worked. Also
remove the prints on errors in the internal ELBI write function.
If the security is enabled, the firmware is responsible for setting
this register correctly so we won't have any problem.
If the security is disabled, the write will work (unless something
is totally broken at the PCI level and then the whole sequence

Finally, it generates a crash at runtime because there is a write overflow

The reason is that rodata.o generates a dummy function that lives in
.rodata to validate that .rodata can't be executed; however, Clang 11 adds
KASAN globals support by generating module constructors to initialize
globals redzones. When Clang 11 adds a module constructor to rodata.o, it
is also added to .rodata: any attempt to call it on initialization results
in the above error.
Therefore, disable KASAN instrumentation for rodata.o.

The usage of in_interrupt() in xpc_partition_disengaged() is clearly
intended to avoid canceling the timeout timer when the function is invoked
from the timer callback.
While in_interrupt() is deprecated and ill defined as it does not provide
what the name suggests it catches the intended case.
Add an argument to xpc_partition_disengaged() which is true if called
from timer and otherwise false.
Use del_timer_sync() instead of del_singleshot_timer_sync() which is the
same thing.
Note: This does not prevent reentrancy into the function as the function
has no concurrency control and timer callback and regular task context
callers can happen concurrently on different CPUs or the timer can
interrupt the task context before it is able to cancel it.
While the only driver which is providing the arch_xpc_ops callbacks
(xpc_uv) seems not to have a reentrancy problem and the only negative
effect would be a double dev_info() entry in dmesg, the whole mechanism is
conceptually broken.
But that's not subject of this cleanup endeavour and left as an exercise to
the folks who might have interest to make that code fully correct.
[bigeasy: Add the argument, use del_timer_sync().]

This reverts commit d162219c65.
The device uses a VIRTIO device ID out of a not-for-production range.
Releasing Linux using an ID out of this range will make it conflict with
development setups. An official request to reserve an ID for an MEI
device is yet to be submitted to the virtio TC, thus there's no chance
it will be reserved and fixed in time before the next release.
Once requested it usually takes 2-3 weeks to land in the spec, which
means the device can be supported with the official ID in the next Linux
version if contributors act quickly.
