Adding card detect callback function and card detect configuration
function for MMC1 Controller on OMAP4.
Card detect configuration function does initial configuration of the
MMC Control & PullUp-PullDown registers of Phoenix.
For MMC1 Controller, card detect interrupt source is
twl6030 which is non-gpio. The card detect call back function provides
card present/absent status by reading MMC Control register present
on twl6030.
Since OMAP4 doesn't use any GPIO line as used in OMAP3 for card detect,
the suspend/resume initialization which was done in omap_hsmmc_gpio_init
previously is moved to the probe thus making it generic for both OMAP3 &
OMAP4.

Adjust the tmio_mmc block size check to accept 2-byte requests in 4-bit
mode if the hardware supports it.
Tested with the SDHI hardware block included in sh7724.

In some platforms (e.g. AP4EVB) the card detect pin of a slot is not
directly connected to the sh_mmcif controller, so that polling needs
to be used. To overcome the overhead induced by querying the controller
on each poll cycle, card detection can be handled in the platform code
more efficiently.
This patch exposes a get_cd hook for that purpose.

The SPI bus is not reliable for large data transfers on all platforms.
The current mmc_spi driver fails SD read/write commands immediately if
occasional CRC errors are reported by the SD device. This patch makes
the operation recover from CRC errors by repeating the last SD command.
The retry count is set to 5 to ensure the driver passes stress tests.

The custom init call may need more data to perform its job, so we pass
it a pointer to pdata, too. Also, always use the platform_id specific
data even if platform_data is present. Doing that, platform_data can
additionally be parsed by init() for board-specific information (via
sdhci->mmc->parent).
(Note: the old behaviour was that you could override the platform_id
specific data with your own. However, one can still do this by using the
"sdhci" id instead of "sdhci-<something>".)

Some controllers handle their write-protection differently. Introduce a
callback to be able to handle it, ensuring the same locking takes place
for it. Rename the status variable to make it more obvious why the read
from the registers needs to be inverted.

Currently we write it to the chip data, but if the probe handler overrides
it we ignore the new value and keep using our cached one. Fix this so that
a probe handler can adjust the slot count.

Some platforms based on sdhci-pltfm need to set their own quirks.
Previously to this patch, the quirks were in drivers/mmc/host/sdhci.h.
This patch splits drivers/mmc/host/sdhci.h into two parts:
* drivers/mmc/host/sdhci.h includes the HC registers and I/O accessors.
* include/linux/mmc/sdhci.h includes the sdhci structure and quirks.
Instead of including drivers/mmc/host/sdhci.h, -pltfm drivers should
now include include/linux/mmc/sdhci.h and include/linux/sdhci-pltfm.h.
This patch avoids adding/changing the calls/flags in the
sdhci_pltfm_data structure. It has been tested on STM platforms
(e.g. STx7106, STx7108, STx5206) where the driver is configured
and used as shown in the example below:

After discovering a problem in regulator reference counting I took Mark
Brown's advice to move the reference count into the MMC core by making the
regulator status a member of struct mmc_host.
I took this opportunity to also implement NULL versions of
the regulator functions so as to rid the driver code from
some ugly #ifdef CONFIG_REGULATOR clauses.

When a controller requires SDHCI_QUIRK_BROKEN_CARD_DETECTION, we poll
for card insertion/removal, and that creates interrupts. There's no
need to be doing this if we have a non-removable card.
This patch requires cards to be removable before we're willing to set
MMC_CAP_NEEDS_POLL.

The EXTRA_CFLAGS assignment in mmc/Makefile was not accomplishing
anything because this flag only has effect on sources at the same level
as the makefile (i.e., per directory). Since card/, core/, and host/
rely on MMC_DEBUG, the subdir-ccflags-y variant seems to be the
appropriate choice.

The "6882a8c sdhci: Add better ADMA error reporting" commit added
sdhci_show_adma_error() which is built when DEBUG is defined. Since we
already have CONFIG_MMC_DEBUG used elsewhere in this driver, may as well
make consistent use of that config knob instead.

On OMAP4, MMC2 controller has eMMC which draws power from VAUX regulator
on TWL. Though the eMMC supports dual voltage[1.8v/3v] as per ocr register,
its VCC is fixed at 3V for operation. With this once the mmc core selects
the minimum voltage[1.8] supported based on the ocr value read from OCR register,
eMMC will not get detected. Thus the platform data for MMC2 is updated with ocr
mask and same will be communicated to core which will set the regulator to
always operate at 3V when ever turned ON.

In OMAP4, as per new PM programming model, the legacy registers
which were there in OMAP3 are all shifted by 0x100 while new one's
are added from offset 0 to 0x10.
For OMAP4, the register offset appending of 0x100 done in devices.c
currently, is moved to driver file.This change fits in for current
implementation as well as once the driver undergoes hwmod adaptation.

The omap4 es2 hsmmc has a updated soft reset logic.After the
reset is issued monitor a 0->1 transition first. The reset of
CMD or DATA lines is complete only after a 0->1->0 transition
of SRC or SRD bits.

spinlock operation - it caused a race with sdhci interrupt service. The
correct way to solve it is to use spin_lock_irqsave/irqrestore() calls.

Move the second if (reg & ...) test into the branch indicated by its

If suspend called when kmmcd is doing host->ops->disable, as kmmcd already
increased host->en_dis_recurs to 1, the mmc_host_enable in suspend
function will return directly without increase the nesting_cnt, which will
cause the followed register access carried out to the disabled host.
mmc_suspend_host will enable host itself. No need to enable host before
it. Also works on kmmcd will get flushed in mmc_suspend_host, enable host
after it will be safe. So make the mmc_host_enable after it.

Previously, it was possible for ack_mmc_irqs() to clear pending interrupt
bits in the CTL_STATUS register, even though the interrupt handler had not
been called. This was because of a race that existed when doing a
read-modify-write sequence on CTL_STATUS. After the read step in this
sequence, if an interrupt occurred (causing one of the bits in CTL_STATUS
to be set) the write step would inadvertently clear it.
Observed with the TMIO_STAT_RXRDY bit together with CMD53 on AR6002 and
BCM4318 SDIO cards in polled mode.
This patch eliminates this race by only writing to CTL_STATUS and clearing
the interrupts that were passed as an argument to ack_mmc_irqs()."

The Ux500 variant has a 32-word FIFO (TXFIFOEMPTY is asserted when it
has 2 left) and TXFIFOHALFEMPTY is repurposed as TXFIFOBURSTWRITEABLE,
with a burst being defined as 8-words. Likewise for RX.

On some platforms, the GPIO value from the gpio_cd pin doesn't need to
be inverted to get it active high. Add a cd_invert platform data
parameter and change existing platforms using GPIO for CD (only
Realview) to enable it.

On some Samsung SoCs not all SDHCI controllers have card detect (CD) line.
For some embedded designs it is not even needed, because ususally the
device (like SDIO flash memory or wifi controller) is permanently wired to
the controller. There are also systems which have a card detect line
connected to some of the external interrupt lines or the presence of the
card depends on some other actions (like enabling a power regulator).
This patch adds support for all these cases. The following card detection
methods are possible:
1. internal sdhci host card detect line
2. external event
3. external gpio interrupt
4. no card detect line, controller will poll for the card
5. no card detect line, card is permanently wired to the controller
(once detected host won't poll it any more)
By default, all existing code would use method #1, what is compatible with
the previous version of the driver.
In case of external event, two callbacks must be provided in platdata:
ext_cd_init and ext_cd_cleanup. Both of them get a callback to a function
that notifies the s3c-sdhci host contoller as their argument. That
callback function should be called from the even dispatcher to let host
notice the card insertion/removal.
In case of external gpio interrupt, a gpio pin number must be provided in
platdata (ext_cd_gpio parameter), as well as the information about the
polarity of that gpio pin (ext_cd_gpio_invert). By default
(ext_cd_gpio_invert == 0) gpio value 0 means 'card has been removed', but
this can be changed to 'card has been removed' when ext_cd_gpio_invert ==
1.
This patch adds all required changes to sdhci-s3c driver.

This patch enables SDHCI_QUIRK_NO_HISPD_BIT on Samsung SDHCI driver. This
solves detection problems with some external SD cards. This change has
been tested on S5PC100 and S5PC110. It has no inpact on driver speed.

S3C SDHCI host controller can change the source for generating mmc clock.
By default host bus clock is used, what causes some problems on machines
with 133MHz bus, because the SDHCI divider cannot be as high get proper
clock value for identification mode. This is not a problem for the
controller, because it can generate lower frequencies from other clock
sources. This patch changes sdhci driver to use get_min_clock() call if
it has been provided.
This fixes the flood of the following warnings on Samsung S5PV210 SoCs:
mmc0: Minimum clock frequency too high for identification mode

On Samsung's SDMMC hosts the timeout clock is derivied from the SD Clock
which is set dynamically. So checked SDHCI_QUIRK_DATA_TIMEOUT_USES_SDCLK
quirk and removed 'sdhci_s3c_get_timeout_clk' callback which doesn't need
any more.

If other informative interrupts are enabled for the DMA channel used by

Due to build system limitations, intermediate and final objects can't have
the same names. And as we're going to start building SoC-specific
objects, let's rename the module to sdhci-platform, into which we'll link
sdhci-pltfm and SoC-specifc objects.
There should be no issue in renaming as the driver uses modalias
mechanism.
This is exactly the same approach as in sdhci-of driver.

Sometimes want to place SoC-specific parts alongside with the generic
driver, and to do so, we have to switch the driver over to the module
device table matching.
Note that drivers/mmc/host/sdhci-pltfm.h is so far empty, but it'll hold
SoC-specific driver data handlers soon.

This patch improves low speeds for SD cards.
OMAP-MMC controller's can support maximum bus width of '8'. when bus
width is mentioned as "8" in controller data,the SD stack will check
whether bus width is "4" and if not it will set bus width to "1" and there
by degrading performance. This patch fixes the issue and improves the
performance of SD cards.

The current way of disabling it is not well tested by vendor and has all
kinds of bugs that show up on resume from ram/disk. A very good example
is a dead SDHCI controller.
Old way of disabling is still supported by continuing to use
CONFIG_MMC_RICOH_MMC.

The MMC card detection sense has become really confused with negations
at various levels, leading to some platforms not detecting inserted
cards. Fix this by converting everything to positive logic throughout,
thereby getting rid of these negations.

Add a variant_data structure to handle the differences between the
various variants of this peripheral. Add a first quirk for a default
MCICLOCK value, required on the Ux500 variant where the enable bit needs
to be always set, since it controls access to some registers.

Use the MMC core's ability to poll for card detection. This also has
the advantage of doing the gpio_get_value from a workqueue instead of
timer, allowing the gpio to be on a sleeping gpiochip.

The mmci driver's SG list iteration logic assumes that each SG entry
spans only one page, and only maps and flushes one page of the sg. This
is not a valid assumption. Fix it by converting the driver to the
sg_miter API, which correctly handles sgs which span multiple pages.

System will crash sooner or later once the memory with the code of the

This patch tightens up the behaviour of of_modalias_node() to be more
predicatable and to eliminate the explicit of_modalias_tablep[] that
is currently used to override the first entry in the compatible list
of a device. The override table was needed originally because spi
and i2c drivers had no way to do of-style matching. Now that all
devices can have an of_node pointer, and all drivers can have an
of_match_table, the explicit override table is no longer needed
because each driver can specify its own OF-style match data.
The mpc8349emitx-mcu driver is modified to explicitly specify the
correct device to bind against.

Modification of the mmc_spi driver to use the SPI bus locking API.
With this, the mmc_spi driver can be used together with other SPI
devices on the same SPI bus. The exclusive access to the SPI bus is
now managed in the SPI layer. The counting of chip selects in the probe
function is no longer needed.

Remove a BUG_ON for when interrupts are disabled during an MMC request.
During boot, interrupts can be disabled when a request is made, causing
this bug to be triggered. In reality, there's no reason this should halt
the kernel, as the driver has proved reliable in spite of disabled
interrupts, and additionally, there's nothing in this code that would
require interrupts to be enabled.
The only setup I've managed to make it trigger on is on the HTC Herald
during bootup when the driver is built into the kernel (mostly because
that's all I have). I believe it's related to the fact that on bootup I
get many timeout errors on "CMD5" while initializing the card. Each CMD5
timeout triggers that bug (I changed it to a WARN_ON to get it to boot in)
due to the fact that part of the timeout code involves sending the request
again. With interrupts turned off, that BUG would be triggered.

Even though many mmc host drivers pass a pm_message_t argument to
mmc_suspend_host() that argument isn't used the by MMC core. As host
drivers are converted to dev_pm_ops they'll have to construct
pm_message_t's (as they won't be passed by the PM subsystem any more) just
to appease the mmc suspend interface.
We might as well just delete the unused paramter.

Convert PM operations to use dev_pm_ops. This will facilitate the runtime
PM coversion which will add to dev_pm_ops hooks.
Note that dev_pm_ops version of the suspend hook no longer takes a 'state'
argument. However, the MMC core function mmc_suspend_host() still takes a
'state' argument, but it is unused, so a dummy state variable was created
to pass to the MMC core.
In the future, the MMC core should be converted to drop this state
argument and the rest of the MMC drivers could be easily converted to
dev_pm_ops as well.

The following changes were needed:
- do not use in_interrupt() because it will not work
with threaded interrupts
In addition, the following improvements were made:
- ensure DMA is unmapped only after the final DMA interrupt
- ensure a request is completed only after the final DMA interrupt
- disable controller interrupts when a request is not in progress
- remove the spin-lock protecting the start of a new request from
an unexpected interrupt because the locking was complicated and
a 'req_in_progress' flag suffices (since the spin-lock only defers
the unexpected interrupts anyway)
- instead use the spin-lock to protect the MMC interrupt handler
from the DMA interrupt handler
- remove the semaphore preventing DMA from being started while
the previous DMA is still in progress - the other changes make that
impossible, so it is now a BUG_ON condition
- ensure the controller interrupt status is clear before exiting
the interrrupt handler
In general, these changes make the code safer but do not fix any specific
bugs so backporting is not necessary.

The s3c6410 sdhci controller does not support the 'End' attribute and NOP
attribute in the same 8-Byte ADMA descriptor. This patch adds a new quirk
to identify sdhci host contollers with such behaviour. In addition to
this, for controllers using the new quirk, the last entry in the ADMA
descritor table is marked with the 'End' attribute (instead of using a NOP
descriptor with 'End' attribute).

Atmel-mci support for SDIO interrupts. This adds the enable_sdio_irq()
function and the configuration of sdio irq mask per slot. With this irq
mask information, we keep the idea of multiple slot per sd/mmc host (not
only A and B). MMC_CAP_SDIO_IRQ is added according to slot configuration.
A new little function is added to run mmc_signal_sdio_irq() during
interrupt handling routine.

Improve the suspend and resume callbacks in DaVinci MMC host controller
driver. Modify the reset status of the contorller and clock during
suspend and resume. Also migrate the power management callbacks from
platform driver to dev_pm_ops structure.
Tested on DA850/OMAP-L138 EVM.

Some hosts have an extended SDHCI iomem size, so the driver should
only print errors if the iomem size is less than 0x100.

Some hosts (e.g. as found in CNS3xxx SOCs) report wrong value in
CLOCK_BASE capability field, and currently there is no way to force the
SDHCI core to use the platform-provided base clock value.
This patch implements CAP_CLOCK_BASE_BROKEN quirk. When enabled, the
SDHCI core will always use base clock frequency provided by the platform.

The omap850 and omap730 use 16-bit registers instead of 32-bit, requiring
a modification of the register addresses in the mmc-omap driver. To
resolve this, a bit shift is performed on base register addresses, either
by 1 or 2 bits depending on the CPU in use. This yields the correct
registers for each CPU.

On some platforms like DM355, the number of EDMA parameter slots available
for EDMA_SLOT_ANY usage are few. In such cases, if MMC/SD uses 16 slots
for each instance of MMC controller, then the number of slots available
for other modules will be very few.
By passing the number of EDMA slots to be used in MMC driver from platform
data, EDMA slots available for other purposes can be controlled.
Most of the platforms will not use this platform data variable. But on
DM355, as the number of EDMA resources available is limited, the number of
scatter- gather segments used inside the MMC driver can be 8 (passed as
platform data) instead of 16. On DM355, when the number of scatter-gather
segments was reduced to 8, I saw a performance difference of about
0.25-0.4 Mbytes/sec during write. Read performance variations were
negligible.
