Arnd Bergmann 6239da2972 ARM: rpc: use legacy_timer_tick
rpc is the only user of the timer_tick() function now, and can
just call the newly added generic version instead.

afzal mohammed 575fb69ef9 ARM: 8966/1: rpc: replace setup_irq() by request_irq()
request_irq() is preferred over setup_irq(). Invocations of setup_irq()
occur after memory allocators are ready.

Per tglx[1], setup_irq() existed in olden days when allocators were not
ready by the time early interrupts were initialized.

Hence replace setup_irq() by request_irq().

Linus Torvalds 24e44913aa ARM: SoC platform updates
SoC platform changes. Main theme this merge window:

  - The Netx platform (Netx 100/500) platform is removed by Linus Walleij--
the SoC doesn't have active maintainers with hardware, and in
discussions with the vendor the agreement was that it's OK to remove.

  - Russell King has a series of patches that cleans up and refactors
    SA1101 and RiscPC support.

Russell King a44c1d700c ARM: riscpc: replace gettimeoffset() with clocksource
Replace the old gettimeoffset() interface (which became buggy in
several ways) with a clocksource that atomically reads the count
and status from the timer, and corrects the count as appropriate
ensuring proper resolution of time without time warping backwards.

We keep the original periodic timer non-clock event implementation
to provide the kernel with a regular source of interrupts, which
are required to keep the clocksource properly updated.

Linus Torvalds dfc25e4503 ARM: SoC: cleanups for 3.15
These cleanup patches are mainly move stuff around and should all
be harmless. They are mainly split out so that other branches can
be based on top to avoid conflicts.

 Notable changes are:

 * We finally remove all mach/timex.h, after CLOCK_TICK_RATE is no
   longer used. (Uwe Kleine-König)
 * The Qualcomm MSM platform is split out into legacy mach-msm and
new-style mach-qcom, to allow easier maintainance of the new
hardware support without regressions. (Kumar Gala)
 * A rework of some of the Kconfig logic to simplify multiplatform
   support (Rob Herring)
 * Samsung Exynos gets closer to supporting multiplatform (Sachin
   Kamat and others)
 * mach-bcm3528 gets merged into mach-bcm (Stephen Warren)
 * at91 gains some common clock framework support (Alexandre Belloni,
Jean-Jacques Hiblot and other French people).

Uwe Kleine-König 5398537145 ARM: rpc: stop using <mach/timex.h>
The rpc timekeeping code uses the symbol LATCH which depends on
CLOCK_TICK_RATE which is defined in rpc's <mach/timex.h>. As this header
will go away in a later patch introduce a local variable holding the
same value as LATCH and use that instead.

Stephen Warren 6bb27d7349 ARM: delete struct sys_timer
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct,
and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization
function itself.

This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without
having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into
include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init()
function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning
the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at:
http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html

Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg.

Stephen Warren 23c197b77f ARM: set arch_gettimeoffset directly
remove ARM's struct sys_timer .offset function pointer, and instead
directly set the arch_gettimeoffset function pointer when the timer
driver is initialized. This requires multiplying all function results
by 1000, since the removed arm_gettimeoffset() did this. Also,
s/unsigned long/u32/ just to make the function prototypes exactly
match that of arch_gettimeoffset.
