changes made in svc_tcp_recvfrom().

Chuck Lever ca07eda33e SUNRPC: Refactor svc_recvfrom()
This function is not currently "generic" so remove the documenting
comment and rename it appropriately. Its internals are converted to
use bio_vecs for reading from the transport socket.

In existing typical sunrpc uses of bio_vecs, the bio_vec array is
allocated dynamically. Here, instead, an array of bio_vecs is added
to svc_rqst. The lifetime of this array can be greater than one call
to xpo_recvfrom():

- Multiple calls to xpo_recvfrom() might be needed to read an RPC
  message completely.

- At some later point, rq_arg.bvecs will point to this array and it
  will carry the received message into svc_process().

I also expect that a future optimization will remove either the
rq_vec or rq_pages array in favor of rq_bvec, thus conserving the
size of struct svc_rqst.

Chuck Lever a5cda73e49 SUNRPC: Restructure svc_tcp_recv_record()
Refactor: svc_recvfrom() is going to be converted to read into
bio_vecs in a moment. Unhook the only other caller,
svc_tcp_recv_record(), which just wants to read the 4-byte stream
record marker into a kvec.

While we're in the area, streamline this helper by straight-lining
the hot path, replace dprintk call sites with tracepoints, and
reduce the number of atomic bit operations in this path.

Clean up. I find the name of the svc_sock::sk_reclen field
confusing, so I've changed it to better reflect its function. This

Chuck Lever ca4faf543a SUNRPC: Move xpt_mutex into socket xpo_sendto methods
It appears that the RPC/RDMA transport does not need serialization
of calls to its xpo_sendto method. Move the mutex into the socket
methods that still need that serialization.

Tail latencies are unambiguously better with this patch applied.
fio randrw 8KB 70/30 on NFSv3, smaller numbers are better:

    clat percentiles (usec):

With xpt_mutex:
r    | 99.99th=[ 8848]
w    | 99.99th=[ 9634]

Without xpt_mutex:
r    | 99.99th=[ 8586]
w    | 99.99th=[ 8979]

Serializing the construction of RPC/RDMA transport headers is not
really necessary at this point, because the Linux NFS server
implementation never changes its credit grant on a connection. If
that should change, then svc_rdma_sendto will need to serialize
access to the transport's credit grant fields.

Chuck Lever 23cf1ee1f1 svcrdma: Fix leak of svc_rdma_recv_ctxt objects
Utilize the xpo_release_rqst transport method to ensure that each
rqstp's svc_rdma_recv_ctxt object is released even when the server
cannot return a Reply for that rqstp.

Without this fix, each RPC whose Reply cannot be sent leaks one
svc_rdma_recv_ctxt. This is a 2.5KB structure, a 4KB DMA-mapped
Receive buffer, and any pages that might be part of the Reply
message.

The leak is infrequent unless the network fabric is unreliable or
Kerberos is in use, as GSS sequence window overruns, which result
in connection loss, are more common on fast transports.

Chuck Lever da1661b93b SUNRPC: Teach server to use xprt_sock_sendmsg for socket sends
xprt_sock_sendmsg uses the more efficient iov_iter-enabled kernel
socket API, and is a pre-requisite for server send-side support for
TLS.

Note that svc_process no longer needs to reserve a word for the
stream record marker, since the TCP transport now provides the
record marker automatically in a separate buffer.

The dprintk() in svc_send_common is also removed. It didn't seem
crucial for field troubleshooting. If more is needed there, a trace
point could be added in xprt_sock_sendmsg().

Chuck Lever 412055398b nfsd: Fix NFSv4 READ on RDMA when using readv
svcrdma expects that the payload falls precisely into the xdr_buf
page vector. This does not seem to be the case for
nfsd4_encode_readv().

This code is called only when fops->splice_read is missing or when
RQ_SPLICE_OK is clear, so it's not a noticeable problem in many
common cases.

Add new transport method: ->xpo_read_payload so that when a READ
payload does not fit exactly in rq_res's page vector, the XDR
encoder can inform the RPC transport exactly where that payload is,
without the payload's XDR pad.

That way, when a Write chunk is present, the transport knows what
byte range in the Reply message is supposed to be matched with the
chunk.

Note that the Linux NFS server implementation of NFS/RDMA can
currently handle only one Write chunk per RPC-over-RDMA message.
This simplifies the implementation of this fix.

Deepa Dinamani 3a0ed3e961 sock: Make sock->sk_stamp thread-safe
Al Viro mentioned (Message-ID
<20170626041334.GZ10672@ZenIV.linux.org.uk>)
that there is probably a race condition
lurking in accesses of sk_stamp on 32-bit machines.

sock->sk_stamp is of type ktime_t which is always an s64.
On a 32 bit architecture, we might run into situations of
unsafe access as the access to the field becomes non atomic.

Use seqlocks for synchronization.
This allows us to avoid using spinlocks for readers as
readers do not need mutual exclusion.

Another approach to solve this is to require sk_lock for all
modifications of the timestamps. The current approach allows
for timestamps to have their own lock: sk_stamp_lock.
This allows for the patch to not compete with already
existing critical sections, and side effects are limited
to the paths in the patch.

The addition of the new field maintains the data locality
optimizations from
commit 9115e8cd2a ("net: reorganize struct sock for better data
locality")

Note that all the instances of the sk_stamp accesses
are either through the ioctl or the syscall recvmsg.

Vasily Averin d4b09acf92 sunrpc: use-after-free in svc_process_common()
if node have NFSv41+ mounts inside several net namespaces
it can lead to use-after-free in svc_process_common()

svc_process_common()
        /* Setup reply header */
        rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_ops->xpo_prep_reply_hdr(rqstp); <<< HERE

svc_process_common() can use incorrect rqstp->rq_xprt,
its caller function bc_svc_process() takes it from serv->sv_bc_xprt.
The problem is that serv is global structure but sv_bc_xprt
is assigned per-netnamespace.

According to Trond, the whole "let's set up rqstp->rq_xprt
for the back channel" is nothing but a giant hack in order
to work around the fact that svc_process_common() uses it
to find the xpt_ops, and perform a couple of (meaningless
for the back channel) tests of xpt_flags.

All we really need in svc_process_common() is to be able to run
rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_ops->xpo_prep_reply_hdr()

Bruce J Fields points that this xpo_prep_reply_hdr() call
is an awfully roundabout way just to do "svc_putnl(resv, 0);"
in the tcp case.

This patch does not initialiuze rqstp->rq_xprt in bc_svc_process(),
now it calls svc_process_common() with rqstp->rq_xprt = NULL.

To adjust reply header svc_process_common() just check
rqstp->rq_prot and calls svc_tcp_prep_reply_hdr() for tcp case.

To handle rqstp->rq_xprt = NULL case in functions called from
svc_process_common() patch intruduces net namespace pointer
svc_rqst->rq_bc_net and adjust SVC_NET() definition.
Some other function was also adopted to properly handle described case.

backmerge to do fixup of iov_iter_kvec() conflict

Linus Torvalds 310c7585e8 Olga added support for the NFSv4.2 asynchronous copy protocol. We
already supported COPY, by copying a limited amount of data and then
 returning a short result, letting the client resend. The asynchronous
 protocol should offer better performance at the expense of some
 complexity.

 The other highlight is Trond's work to convert the duplicate reply cache
 to a red-black tree, and to move it and some other server caches to RCU.
 (Previously these have meant taking global spinlocks on every RPC.)

 Otherwise, some RDMA work and miscellaneous bugfixes.

David Howells aa563d7bca iov_iter: Separate type from direction and use accessor functions
In the iov_iter struct, separate the iterator type from the iterator
direction and use accessor functions to access them in most places.

Convert a bunch of places to use switch-statements to access them rather
then chains of bitwise-AND statements. This makes it easier to add further
iterator types. Also, this can be more efficient as to implement a switch
of small contiguous integers, the compiler can use ~50% fewer compare
instructions than it has to use bitwise-and instructions.

Further, cease passing the iterator type into the iterator setup function.
The iterator function can set that itself. Only the direction is required.

Chuck Lever ece200ddd5 sunrpc: Save remote presentation address in svc_xprt for trace events
TP_printk defines a format string that is passed to user space for
converting raw trace event records to something human-readable.

My user space's printf (Oracle Linux 7), however, does not have a
%pI format specifier. The result is that what is supposed to be an
IP address in the output of "trace-cmd report" is just a string that
says the field couldn't be displayed.

To fix this, adopt the same approach as the client: maintain a pre-
formated presentation address for occasions when %pI is not
available.

The location of the trace_svc_send trace point is adjusted so that
rqst->rq_xprt is not NULL when the trace event is recorded.

Denys Vlasenko 9b2c45d479 net: make getname() functions return length rather than use int* parameter
Changes since v1:
Added changes in these files:
    drivers/infiniband/hw/usnic/usnic_transport.c
    drivers/staging/lustre/lnet/lnet/lib-socket.c
    drivers/target/iscsi/iscsi_target_login.c
    drivers/vhost/net.c
    fs/dlm/lowcomms.c
    fs/ocfs2/cluster/tcp.c
    security/tomoyo/network.c

Before:
All these functions either return a negative error indicator,
or store length of sockaddr into "int *socklen" parameter
and return zero on success.

"int *socklen" parameter is awkward. For example, if caller does not
care, it still needs to provide on-stack storage for the value
it does not need.

None of the many FOO_getname() functions of various protocols
ever used old value of *socklen. They always just overwrite it.

This change drops this parameter, and makes all these functions, on success,
return length of sockaddr. It's always >= 0 and can be differentiated
from an error.

Tests in callers are changed from "if (err)" to "if (err < 0)", where needed.

rpc_sockname() lost "int buflen" parameter, since its only use was
to be passed to kernel_getsockname() as &buflen and subsequently
not used in any way.

Userspace API is not changed.

Linus Torvalds f1517df870 This request is late, apologies.
But it's also a fairly small update this time around. Some cleanup,
 RDMA fixes, overlayfs fixes, and a fix for an NFSv4 state bug.

 The bigger deal for nfsd this time around is Jeff Layton's
 already-merged i_version patches. This series has a minor conflict with
 that one, and the resolution should be obvious. (Stephen Rothwell has
 been carrying it in linux-next for what it's worth.)

Vadim Lomovtsev eebe53e87f net: sunrpc: svcsock: fix NULL-pointer exception
While running nfs/connectathon tests kernel NULL-pointer exception
has been observed due to races in svcsock.c.

Race is appear when kernel accepts connection by kernel_accept
(which creates new socket) and start queuing ingress packets
to new socket. This happens in ksoftirq context which could run
concurrently on a different core while new socket setup is not done yet.

The fix is to re-order socket user data init sequence and add
write/read barrier calls to be sure that we got proper values
for callback pointers before actually calling them.

Test results: nfs/connectathon reports '0' failed tests for about 200+ iterations.

Trond Myklebust ce7c252a8c SUNRPC: Add a separate spinlock to protect the RPC request receive list
This further reduces contention with the transport_lock, and allows us
to convert to using a non-bh-safe spinlock, since the list is now never
accessed from a bh context.

Kinglong Mee 5427290d64 SUNRPC/backchanel: set XPT_CONG_CTRL flag for bc xprt
The xprt for backchannel is created separately, not in TCP/UDP code. It
needs the XPT_CONG_CTRL flag set on it too--otherwise requests on the
NFSv4.1 backchannel are rjected in svc_process_common():

1191         if (versp->vs_need_cong_ctrl &&
1192             !test_bit(XPT_CONG_CTRL, &rqstp->rq_xprt->xpt_flags))

Linus Torvalds 8313064c2e The nfsd update this round is mainly a lot of miscellaneous cleanups and
bugfixes.

 A couple changes could theoretically break working setups on upgrade. I
 don't expect complaints in practice, but they seem worth calling out
 just in case:

 	- NFS security labels are now off by default; a new
 	  security_label export flag reenables it per export. But,
 	  having them on by default is a disaster, as it generally only
 	  makes sense if all your clients and servers have similar
 	  enough selinux policies. Thanks to Jason Tibbitts for
 	  pointing this out.

 	- NFSv4/UDP support is off. It was never really supported, and
 	  the spec explicitly forbids it. We only ever left it on out
 	  of laziness; thanks to Jeff Layton for finally fixing that.
