The TypeC FIA can be powered down if the TC-COLD power state is allowed,
so block the TC-COLD state when initializing the FIA.
Note that this isn't needed on ICL where the FIA is never modular and
which has no generic way to block TC-COLD (except for platforms with a
legacy TypeC port and on those too only via these legacy ports, not via
a DP-alt/TBT port).

Remove the CONFIG_X86 conditionals from the source code. The driver
already depends on X86 in the Kconfig file. Also, no one has been
trying to build it on a non-x86 platform recently, or they would have
noticed that drm_ttm_cache_flush() doesn't exist.

With support for the MID-related chips removed, only support for
desktop chips is left in the driver. So just build the complete
driver if DRM_GMA500 has been selected. Anyone who wants to enable
the Poulsbo code would probably also want the Cedarview code.

pm_runtime_get_sync will increment pm usage counter even it
failed. Forgetting to putting operation will result in a
reference leak here.
A new function pm_runtime_resume_and_get is introduced in
[0] to keep usage counter balanced. So We fix the reference
leak by replacing it with new function.

This patch does not change current behaviour.
The driver's job timeout handler now returns
status indicating back to the DRM layer whether
the device (GPU) is no longer available, such as
after it's been unplugged, or whether all is
normal, i.e. current behaviour.
All drivers which make use of the
drm_sched_backend_ops' .timedout_job() callback
have been accordingly renamed and return the
would've-been default value of
DRM_GPU_SCHED_STAT_NOMINAL to restart the task's
timeout timer--this is the old behaviour, and is
preserved by this patch.

We introduced the BCM2711 support to the vc4 HDMI controller with 5.10,
but this was lacking any of the interrupts of the CEC controller so we
have to deal with the backward compatibility.
Do so by simply ignoring the CEC setup if the DT doesn't have the
interrupts property.

The HDMI controller found in the BCM2711 has an external interrupt
controller for the CEC and hotplug interrupt shared between the two
instances.
Let's add a variant flag to register a single interrupt handler and
deals with the interrupt handler setup, or two interrupt handlers
relying on an external irqchip.

The BCM2711 has two different interrupt sources to transmit and receive
CEC messages, provided through an external interrupt chip shared between
the two HDMI interrupt controllers.
The rest of the CEC controller is identical though so we need to change
a bit the code organisation to share the code as much as possible, yet
still allowing to register independent handlers.

While the BCM2835 had the CEC clock derived from the HSM clock, the
BCM2711 has a dedicated parent clock for it.
Let's introduce a separate clock for it so that we can handle both
cases.

As part of the enable sequence we might change the HSM clock rate if the
pixel rate is different than the one we were already dealing with.
On the BCM2835 however, the CEC clock derives from the HSM clock so any
rate change will need to be reflected in the CEC clock divider to output
40kHz.

The CEC clock divider needs to output a frequency of 40kHz from the HSM
rate on the BCM2835. The driver used to have a fixed frequency for it,
but that changed for the BCM2711 and we now need to compute it
dynamically to maintain the proper rate.

Currently we call cec_phys_addr_invalidate on a hotplug deassert.
That may be due to a TV power cycling, or an AVR being switched
on (and switching edid).
This makes CEC unusable since our controller wouldn't have a physical
address anymore.
Set it back up again on the hotplug assert.

The code prior to 311e305fdb ("drm/vc4: hdmi: Implement a register
layout abstraction") was relying on the fact that the register offset
was incremented by 4 for each readl call. That worked since the register
width is 4 bytes.
However, since that commit the HDMI_READ macro is now taking an enum,
and the offset doesn't increment by 4 but 1 now. Divide the index by 4
to fix this.

The hdmi reset got moved to a later point in the commit 9045e91a47
("drm/vc4: hdmi: Add reset callback").
However, the reset now occurs after vc4_hdmi_cec_init and so tramples
the setup of registers like HDMI_CEC_CNTRL_1
This only affects pi0-3 as on pi4 the cec registers are in a separate
block

Enabling atomic operations in L3 leads to unrecoverable GPU hangs, as
the machine stops responding milliseconds after receipt of the reset
request [GDRT]. By disabling the cached atomics, the hang do not occur
and we presume the GPU would reset normally for similar hangs.
Sadly this is a shotgun approach, but since the impact is critical it is
better to err on the safe side and work back from there.

Smatch found an uninitialized variable bug in this code:
drivers/gpu/drm/i915/gvt/cmd_parser.c:3191 intel_gvt_update_reg_whitelist()
error: uninitialized symbol 'ret'.
The first thing that Smatch complains about is that "ret" isn't set if
we don't enter the "for_each_engine(engine, &dev_priv->gt, id) {" loop.
Presumably we always have at least one engine so that's a false
positive.
But it's definitely a bug to not set "ret" if i915_gem_object_pin_map()
fails.
Let's fix the bug and silence the false positive.

Let's not encourage everybody to build i915's debug code, and certainly
not the build robots who need to scrutinise the production build. Since
CI will complain if the debug build is broken, having the other build
bots focus on the builds we don't cover ourselves should improve the
build coverage.

drm_fb_helper_modinit has a lot of boilerplate for what is not very
simple functionality. Just open code it in the only caller using
IS_ENABLED and IS_MODULE, and skip the find_module check as a
request_module is harmless if the module is already loaded (and not
other caller has this find_module check either).

A missing semicolon here causes my external display to stop working.
Indeed, missing the semicolon on the return statement leads to
dp_panel_update_tu_timings() not existing because the compiler thinks
it's part of the return statement of a void function, so it must not be
important.

DP_SW_RESET is the global SW reset that is used to initialize DP
controller. If DP_SW_RESET executed during connection setup,
two HPD related side effects may occurred,
1) pending HPD interrupts cleared unexpected
2) re start debounce logic which trigger another interrupt
This patch only issue DP_SW_RESET at boot up and pm_resume.
This patch also reinit video_comp before configure dp controller
to avoid missing VIDEO_READY interrupt.

In moving code around, we ended up using the same pointer to
copy_from_user() the relocs tables as we used for the cmd table
entry, which is clearly not right. This went unnoticed because
modern mesa on non-ancent kernels does not actually use relocs.
But this broke ancient mesa on modern kernels.

Current implementation of mtk_dither_set() cast dev data to
struct mtk_ddp_comp_dev. But other devices with different dev data
would also call this function.

that use drm_bridge. This allows splitting connector operations across

Since I wrote the below patch if you run a debug kernel you can a
dma debug warning like:
nouveau 0000:1f:00.0: DMA-API: device driver tries to sync DMA memory it has not allocated [device address=0x000000016e012000] [size=4096 bytes]
The old nouveau code wasn't consolidate the pages like the ttm code,
but the dma-debug expects the sync code to give it the same base/range
pairs as the allocator.
Fix the nouveau sync code to consolidate pages before calling the
sync code.

This is because there is a scenario that a drm_crtc_commit commit is
allocated but not freed. The drm subsystem require/release references
to a CRTC commit by calling drm_crtc_commit_get/put, and when
drm_crtc_commit_put find that commit.ref.refcount is zero, it will
call __drm_crtc_commit_free to free this CRTC commit. Among these
drm_crtc_commit_get/put pairs, there is a drm_crtc_commit_get in
drm_atomic_helper_setup_commit as below:

This reference to the CRTC commit should be released at the function
release_crtc_commit by calling e->completion_release(e->completion) in
drm_send_event_locked. So we need to call drm_send_event_locked at
two places: handling vblank event in the irq handler and the crtc disable
helper. But in zynqmp_disp_crtc_atomic_disable, it only marks the flip
is done and not call drm_crtc_commit_put. This result that the refcount
of this commit is always non-zero and this commit will never be freed.
Since the function drm_crtc_send_vblank_event has operations both sending
a flip_done signal and releasing reference to the CRTC commit, let's use
it instead.

Need to unassign DSC from pipes that are not using it
so other pipes can acquire it. That is needed for
asic's that have unmatching number of DSC engines from
the number of pipes.

Before acquiring dsc to stream resources, first remove it.

[Why]
Currently we discard the current context and recreate it. The current
context is what is applied to the HW so we should be re-using this
rather than creating a new context.
Recreating the context can lead to mismatch between new context and the
current context
For example: gsl groups get changed when we create a new context this
can cause issues in a multi display config (with flip immediate) because
we don't align the existing gsl groups in the new and current context.
If we reuse the current context the gsl group assignment stays the same.
[How]
Instead of discarding the current context, we instead just copy the
current state and add/remove planes and streams.

Some newer APUs can scanout directly from GTT, that saves us from
allocating another bounce buffer in VRAM and enables freesync in such
configurations.
Without this patch creating a framebuffer from the imported BO will
fail and userspace will fall back to a copy.

We cannot modify initial_domain every time while the retry starts. That
will cause the busy waiting that unable to switch to GTT while the vram
is not enough.

If the user passes a "level" value which is higher than 31 then that
leads to shift wrapping. The undefined behavior will lead to a

Overlay won't move to a new positon if viewport size is smaller than
what can be handled. It'd either disappear or stay at the old
position. This condition is for example hit if overlay is moved too
much outside of left or top edge of the screen, but it applies to
any non-cursor plane type.
[how]
Reject this contidion at validation time. This gives the calling
level a chance to handle this gracefully and avoid inconsistent
behaivor.

[Why]
Some scenarios where we use a UCLK frequency in between dummy p-state table
entries result in a p-state hang, due to the table not having a close
enough match, so the default DPM0 latency is used, which can be too long to
support dummy p-state switching in these scenarios.
[How]
- old: match if current freq is within +- margin of table entry
- new: find largest table entry that is lower than current freq + margin
- lower than DPM0 will still use DPM0

[Why]
Maximum resolution is 1440*900 when connecting to FHD monitor via some DP-VGA
dongles. The display EDID reading fails over AUX/I2C via DP->VGA dongle, and
this leads to the maximum resolution 1920*1080 cannot be obtained from EDID.
[How]
Provide a workaround for some legacy DP-VGA dongles with a longer aux delay.

but they use dcn3_0_soc and dcn3_0_ip instead of dcn3_02_soc and
dcn3_02_ip

Add dcn302_update_bw_bounding_box and
dcn302_get_optimal_dcfclk_fclk_for_uclk so it uses
dcn3_02_soc and dcn3_02_ip.
Use sr_exit_time_us, sr_enter_plus_exit_time_us,
from dcn30 on dcn302 to fix flicker on eDP.
Also use dram_clock_change_latency_us from dcn30.

[Why]
Some panels contain active converters (e.g. DP to MIPI) which only support
restricted DSC configurations. DID2.0 adds support for such displays to
explicitly define per timing BPP restrictions on DSC. Ignoring these
restrictions leads to blackscreen.
[How]
Add parsing in DID2.0 parser to get this bpp info.
Add support in DSC module to constraint target bpp based
on this info.

[Why]
The PWL backlight curve is used by the firmware to convert between
brightness and linear PWM value.
Driver has a backlight LUT, but the firmware holds a PWL curve and
interpolates between points.
The calculations are incorrect leading to slightly off backlight values
being programmed.

In seamless boot without a flip case, the flag power_gated didn't
get cleared when resetting path mode because the plane_state is null.
The following sequence will cause this issue:
1. OS call set mode to clone/extended
2. Reset path mode to remove edp

Commit 0a038c1c29 ("drm/vc4: Move LBM creation out of
vc4_plane_mode_set()") changed the LBM allocation logic from first
allocating the LBM memory for the plane to running mode_set,
adding a gap in the LBM, and then running the dlist allocation filling
that gap.
The gap was introduced by incrementing the dlist array index, but was
never checking whether or not we were over the array length, leading
eventually to memory corruptions if we ever crossed this limit.
vc4_dlist_write had that logic though, and was reallocating a larger
dlist array when reaching the end of the buffer. Let's share the logic
between both functions.

We cannot modify initial_domain every time while the retry starts. That
will cause the busy waiting that unable to switch to GTT while the vram
is not enough.

The DP PHY vswing/pre-emphasis level programming the driver does is
related to the DPTX -> first LTTPR link segment only. Accordingly it
should be only programmed when link training the first LTTPR and kept
as-is when training subsequent LTTPRs and the DPRX. For these latter
PHYs the vs/pe levels will be set in response to writing the
DP_TRAINING_LANEx_SET_PHY_REPEATERy DPCD registers (by an upstream LTTPR
TX PHY snooping this write access of its downstream LTTPR/DPRX RX PHY).
The above is also described in DP Standard v2.0 under 3.6.6.1.
While at it simplify and add the LTTPR that is link trained to the debug
message in intel_dp_set_signal_levels().

Atm the driver will calculate a wrong MST timeslots/MTP (aka time unit)
value for MST streams if the link parameters (link rate or lane count)
are limited in a way independent of the sink capabilities (reported by
DPCD).
One example of such a limitation is when a MUX between the sink and
source connects only a limited number of lanes to the display and
connects the rest of the lanes to other peripherals (USB).
Another issue is that atm MST core calculates the divider based on the
backwards compatible DPCD (at address 0x0000) vs. the extended
capability info (at address 0x2200). This can result in leaving some
part of the MST BW unused (For instance in case of the WD19TB dock).
Fix the above two issues by calculating the PBN divider value based on
the rate and lane count link parameters that the driver uses for all
other computation.

This function will be needed by the next patch where the driver
calculates the BW based on driver specific parameters, so export it.
At the same time sanitize the function params, passing the more natural
link rate instead of the encoding of the same rate.

All amba drivers return 0 in their remove callback. Together with the
driver core ignoring the return value anyhow, it doesn't make sense to
return a value here.
Change the remove prototype to return void, which makes it explicit that
returning an error value doesn't work as expected. This simplifies changing
the core remove callback to return void, too.

Simplify the frontbuffer unpin by removing the lock requirement. The LRU
bumping was primarily to protect the GTT from being evicted and from
frontbuffers being eagerly shrunk. Now we protect frontbuffers from the
shrinker, and we avoid accidentally evicting from the GTT, so the
benefit from bumping LRU is no more, and we can save more time by not.

If we enable_breadcrumbs for a request while that request is being
removed from HW; we may see that the request is active as we take the
ce->signal_lock and proceed to attach the request to ce->signals.
However, during unsubmission after marking the request as inactive, we
see that the request has not yet been added to ce->signals and so skip
the removal. Pull the check during cancel_breadcrumbs under the same
spinlock as enabling so that we the two tests are consistent in
enable/cancel.
Otherwise, we may insert a request onto ce->signals that we expect should
not be there:

While updating, we can note that we are always called with
irqs-disabled, due to the engine->active.lock being held at the single
caller, and so remove the irqsave/restore making it symmetric to
enable_breadcrumbs.

If while we are cancelling the breadcrumb signaling, we find that the
request is already completed, move it to the irq signaler and let it be
signaled.

Prevent the ICL HDR plane pipeline from performing YUV color range
correction twice when the input is in limited range. This is done by
removing the limited-range code from icl_program_input_csc().
Before this patch the following could happen: user space gives us a YUV
buffer in limited range; per the pipeline in [1], the plane would first
go through a "YUV Range correct" stage that expands the range; the plane
would then go through the "Input CSC" stage which would also expand the
range because icl_program_input_csc() would use a matrix and an offset
that assume limited-range input; this would ultimately cause dark and
light colors to appear darker and lighter than they should respectively.
This is an issue because if a buffer switches between being scanned out
and being composited with the GPU, the user will see a color difference.
If this switching happens quickly and frequently, the user will perceive
this as a flickering.

In thunderbolt mode the PHY is owned by the thunderbolt controller.
We are not supposed to touch it. So skip the vswing programming
as well (we already skipped the other steps not applicable to TBT).
Touching this stuff could supposedly interfere with the PHY
programming done by the thunderbolt controller.

On some boards the rpm interface apparently does not work at all
leading to the fan not spinning or spinning at strange speeds.
Both interfaces work properly on the boards I have.
Let's try and use the percent interface instead.

Currently, the the input to the pp_od_clk_voltage sysfs interface has
two adjacent separator characters, i.e. "\n\0", then we try to parse an
argument out of the empty string, whereas we really should just ignore
this case, and treat any number of adjacent separators as one separator
for arguments.
We do this here by simply skipping the argument parsing for all
empy-string arguments.
An example test case would be `echo 's 1 900' > pp_od_clk_voltage`
(note the two spaces after the 's'.
This also solves the issue where the written string ends with both a
newline, and a nul-terminator, '\n\0', as is the case for `echo 's 1
900' > pp_od_clk_voltage` since the recent rebase.
Got lost during code rebase/merge. No need to port this to other
branches.

In function dsi_pll_calc_dec_frac we are calculating the decimal
div start parameter by dividing the decimal multiple by the
fractional multiplier: the remainder of that operation is stored
to then get programmed to the fractional divider registers of
the PLL.
It's useless to call div_u64_rem to get the remainder and *then*
call div_u64 to get the division result, as the first is already
giving that result: let's fix it by just caring about the result
of div_u64_rem.

This is because lockdep thinks all the locks taken in lock_crtcs() are
the same lock, when they actually aren't. That's because we call
mutex_init() in msm_kms_init() and that assigns one static key for every
lock initialized in this loop. Let's allocate a dynamic number of
lock_class_keys and assign them to each lock so that lockdep can figure

Now that we're not racing with GPU setup, also fix races of timestamps
against other timestamps. In freedreno CI, we were seeing this path trigger
timeouts on setting the GMU bit, producing:
[drm:_a6xx_gmu_set_oob] *ERROR* Timeout waiting for GMU OOB set GPU_SET: 0x0
and this triggered especially on the first set of tests right after
boot (it's probably easier to lose the race than one might think,
given that we start many tests in parallel, and waiting for NFS to
page in code probably means that lots of tests hit the same point of
screen init at the same time). As of this patch, the message seems to
have completely gone away.

We were using the same force-poweron bit in the two codepaths, so they
could race to have one of them lose GPU power early.
freedreno CI was seeing intermittent errors like:

Before the offending commit in msm_atomic_commit_tail wait_flush was
called once per frame, after the commit was submitted. After it
wait_flush is also called at the beginning to ensure previous
potentially async commits are done.
For cmd panels the source of wait_flush is a ping-pong irq notifying
a completion. The completion needs to be notified with complete_all so
multiple waiting parties (new async committers) can proceed.

There is HPD unplug interrupts missed at scenario of an irq_hpd
followed by unplug interrupts with around 10 ms in between.
Since both AUX_SW_RESET and DP_SW_RESET clear pending HPD interrupts,
irq_hpd handler should not issues either aux or sw reset to avoid
following unplug interrupt be cleared accidentally. This patch
also postpone handling of irq_hpd until connected state if it
happened at connection pending state.

The call to dpu_encoder_phys_cmd_prepare_for_kickoff is useless as
it's unused because the serialize_wait4pp variable is never set to
true by .. anything, literally: remove the call.
While at it, also reduce indentation by inverting the check for
dpu_encoder_phys_cmd_is_master.

When configuring the tearcheck, the parameters for the engine were
being set mostly as they should've been, but then it wasn't getting
configured to get the vsync indication from the TE GPIO input
because it was assumed that autorefresh could be enabled:
since a previous commit makes sure to disable the autorefresh bit
when committing to the cmd engine, it is now safe to just enable
the vsync pin input at tearcheck setup time (instead of erroneously
never enabling it).
Also, set the right sync_cfg_height to enable the DPU auto-generated
TE signal in order to avoid stalls in the event that we miss one
external TE signal: this will still trigger recovery mechanisms in
case the display is really unreachable.

When a command mode display is used, it may be retaining the bootloader
configuration which, in most of the cases, enables the autorefresh
feature in order to keep the splash up.
Since there is no autorefresh management in this driver, wire up the
autorefresh ops in the dpu_hw_pingpong and disable the feature when
preparing for cmd commit: instead of disabling it when initializing
the command mode, this road was chosen as to open future possibility
of enabling and managing the autorefresh feature in the driver.

The DSPP_BLK macro was ad-hoc made for SC7180, but this is wrong
because not all of the DPU DSPP versions can use the same DSPP block
configuration, and not all of them have got the same features.
For this reason, add two more params to the DSPP_BLK macro, so that
it is possible to specify the feature mask and the sblk config for
each DSPP.

Not all DPU interface sub-block versions need the same value for
prog_fetch_lines_worst_case: add this to the INTF_BLK macro, so
that it becomes possible to vary it for other INTF versions.
For example, this is needed to implement support for older SoCs,
like MSM8998 and SDM630/660 and most probably will also be needed
for future SoCs.

On DPUs prior to version 4 the VBIF_XINL_QOS_LVL_REMAP_000 register
is at 0x570 offset from vbif base instead of 0x590, due to the
VBIF_XINL_QOS_RP_REMAP_000 having less instances (less possible XINs).

The upstream API for some reason uses logbase2 instead of
just passing the argument as-is, whereas downstream CAF
kernel does the latter.
Hence, a mistake has been made when porting:
4 is the value that's supposed to be passed, but
log2(4) = 2. Changing the value to 16 (= 2^4) fixes
the issue.

Resetting the VBIF before power collapse is done to avoid getting
bogus FIFO entries during the suspend sequence or subsequent resume,
but this is doable only on Adreno 510 and Adreno 530, as the other
units will tendentially lock up.
Especially on Adreno 508, the GPU will show lockups and very bad
slownesses after processing the first frame.
Avoiding to execute the RBBM SW Reset before suspend will stop the
lockup issue from happening on at least Adreno 508/509/512.

The Adreno 508/509/512 GPUs are stripped versions of the Adreno
5xx found in the mid-end SoCs such as SDM630, SDM636, SDM660 and
SDA variants; these SoCs are usually provided with ZAP firmwares,
but they have no available GPMU.

The "main" if branch where we program the other registers for the
Adreno 5xx family of GPUs should not contain the PC_DBG_ECO_CNTL
register programming because this has logical similarity
differences from all the others.
A later commit will show the entire sense of this.

The PC_DBG_ECO_CNTL register on the Adreno A5xx family gets
programmed to some different values on a per-model basis.
At least, this is what we intend to do here;
Unfortunately, though, this register is being overwritten with a
static magic number, right after applying the GPU-specific
configuration (including the GPU-specific quirks) and that is
effectively nullifying the efforts.
Let's remove the redundant and wrong write to the PC_DBG_ECO_CNTL
register in order to retain the wanted configuration for the
target GPU.

A6XX GPUs have support for last level cache(LLC) also known
as system cache and need to set the bus attributes to
use it. Currently we use a generic adreno iommu address space
implementation which are also used by older GPU generations
which do not have LLC and might introduce issues accidentally
and is not clean in a way that anymore additions of GPUs
supporting LLC would have to be guarded under ifdefs. So keep
the generic code separate and make the address space creation
A6XX specific. We also have a helper to set the llc attributes
so that if the newer GPU generations do support them, we can
use it instead of open coding domain attribute setting for each
GPU.

Domain attribute setting for LLCC is guarded by !IS_ERR
check which works fine only when CONFIG_QCOM_LLCC=y but
when it is disabled, the LLCC apis return NULL and that
is not handled by IS_ERR check. Due to this, domain attribute
for LLCC will be set even on GPUs which do not support it
and cause issues, so correct this by using IS_ERR_OR_NULL
checks appropriately. Meanwhile also cleanup comment block
and remove unwanted blank line.

On at least MSM8998 it's possible to find Adreno 540.0 and 540.1
but I have never found any 540.2. In any case, the patchids 0-1
for A540 are completely supported by this driver and there is no
reason to disallow probing them (as they also share the same
firmware names).
Besides that, the patchid number is also used in the a5xx_power.c
function a540_lm_setup to disable the battery current limiter,
which makes faking the Adreno patchid to .2 (which would anyway
be sad) useless and even producing breakages.

To identify the correct variant, we should check the gpu speedbin
fuse value. Add support for this speedbin detection to a6xx family
along with the required fuse details for a618 gpu.

Atm, the driver programs explicitly the default transparent link
training mode (0x55) to DP_PHY_REPEATER_MODE even if no LTTPRs are
detected.
This conforms to the spec (3.6.6.1):
"DP upstream devices that do not enable the Non-transparent mode of
LTTPRs shall program the PHY_REPEATER_MODE register (DPCD Address
F0003h) to 55h (default) prior to link training"
however writing the default value to this DPCD register seems to cause
occasional link training errors at least for a DELL WD19TB TBT dock, when
no LTTPRs are detected.
Writing to DP_PHY_REPEATER_MODE will also cause an unnecessary timeout
on systems without any LTTPR.
To fix the above two issues let's assume that setting the default mode
is redundant when no LTTPRs are detected. Keep the existing behavior and
program the default mode if more than 8 LTTPRs are detected or in case
the read from DP_PHY_REPEATER_CNT returns an invalid value.

Add support for async flips on vlv/chv. Unlike all the other
platforms vlv/chv do not use the async flip bit in DSPCNTR and
instead we select between async vs. sync flips based on the
surface address register. The normal DSPSURF generates sync
flips DSPADDR_VLV generates async flips. And as usual the
interrupt bits are different from the other platforms.

Implement async flip support for BDW. The implementation is
similar to the skl+ code. And just like skl/bxt/glk bdw also
needs the disable w/a, thus we need to plumb the desired state
of the async flip all the way down to i9xx_plane_ctl_crtc().
According to the spec we do need to bump the surface alignment
to 256KiB for this. Async flips require an X-tiled buffer so
we don't have to worry about linear.

Limit pre-skl plane stride to below 4k or 8k pixels (depending on
the platform). We do this in order guarantee that TILEOFF/OFFSET.x
does not get too big.
Currently this is not a problem as we align SURF to 4k, and so
TILEOFF/OFFSET only have to deal with a single tile's worth of
pixels. But for async flips we're going to have to bump SURF
alignment to 256k, and thus we can no longer guarantee
TILEOFF/OFFSET.x will stay within acceptable bounds. We can avoid
this by borrowing a trick from the skl+ code and limit the max
plane stride to whatever value we can fit into TILEOFF/OFFSET.x.
The slight downside is that we may end up doing GTT remapping in
a few more cases where previously we did not have to. But since
that will only happen with huge buffers I'm not really concerned
about it.

Up to now we were reading some DRAM information from MCHBAR register
and from pcode what is already not good but some GEN12(TGL-H and ADL-S)
platforms have MCHBAR DRAM information in different offsets.
This was notified to HW team that decided that the best alternative is
always apply the 16gb_dimm watermark adjustment for GEN12+ platforms
and read the remaning DRAM information needed to other display
programming from pcode.
So here moving the DRAM pcode function to intel_dram.c, removing
the duplicated fields from intel_qgv_info, setting and using
information from dram_info.

In some cases we have the handle those explicitly as the fallback
connector type detection fails and marks those as eDP connectors.
Attempting to use such a connector with mutter leads to a crash of mutter
as it ends up with two eDP displays.

Noticed that I wasn't paying close enough attention the last time I looked
at our audio callbacks, as I completely missed the fact that we were
figuring out which audio-enabled connector goes to each encoder by checking
it's state, but without grabbing any of the appropriate modesetting locks
to do so.
That being said however: trying to grab modesetting locks in our audio
callbacks would be very painful due to the potential for locking inversion
between HDA and DRM. So, let's instead just copy what i915 does again - add
our own audio lock to protect audio related state, and store each audio
enabled connector in each nouveau_encoder struct so that we don't need to
check any atomic states.

Despite being an atomic driver, nouveau has a lot of leftover code that
relies on retrieving information regarding the new atomic state from
members of drm_encoder and drm_crtc. The first field being used,
drm_encoder.crtc, is deprecated for atomic drivers. The second field being
used is drm_crtc.state, which is only really sensible to use outside of an
atomic modeset.
So, add some helpers to lookup the current crtc for a given outp from the
atomic state. Then, convert most of the code in dispnv50/disp.c to use said
new helper, along with the relevant DRM atomic helpers for retrieving the
new encoder/crtc combinations for a new atomic state.
Note that we don't get rid of the nouveau_encoder.crtc field entirely for
three reasons:
- Legacy modesetting for pre-nv50 still uses it
- It doesn't cause any locking issues
- We need it for the HDA callbacks, as grabbing atomic modesetting locks in
those would be a mess.

I have a strange dejavu feeling that I tried to submit a patch for this in
the past, but that it was rejected. I can't remember though, but I'm
further convinced this patch is the right thing to do anyway.
We label the to-be-committed head state in nv50_msto_atomic_enable() as
armh. Normally armh implies a state which is currently armed in hardware.
nv50_msto_atomic_enable() is called _after_ drm_atomic_swap_state()
however, but before the commit tail ends, which means that said state is
not actually armed on hardware.
As well - take note that this is the same convention followed in all of the
other atomic_enable() callbacks.
So, let's correct this to asyh.

Noticed these in both the disable (which we'll be getting rid of in a
moment) and the atomic disable callbacks: both callback types check whether
or not there's actually a CRTC assigned to the given encoder. However, as
->atomic_disable and ->disable will never be called without a CRTC assigned
to the given encoder there's no point in this check. So just remove it.

Previous hardware allowed a MMU fault to be generated by software to
trigger a context switch for engine recovery. Turing has the capability
to preempt all work from a specific runlist processor and removed the
registers currently used for triggering MMU faults. Attempting to access
these non-existent registers results in further errors, so use the
runlist preemption register instead.

Turing requires some changes to FIFO interrupt handling due to changes
in HW register layout. It also requires some changes to implement robust
channel (RC) recovery. This preparatory patch moves the functions
requiring changes into nvkm/engine/fifo/tu102.c so they can be altered
without affecting gk104 and other users. It should not introduce any
functional changes.

Turing reports MMU fault interrupts via new top level interrupt
registers. The old PMC MMU interrupt vector is not used by the HW. This
means we can remap the new top-level MMU interrupt to the exisiting PMC
MMU bit which simplifies the implementation until all interrupts are
moved over to using the new top level registers.

This was a mistake that was present before, but never got noticed until
we converted over to using nvidia's class headers for display
programming. Luckily though it never caused any problems, since we
always end up calling crc907d_set_src() after head907d_mode().

While we do handle the additional cursor sizes introduced in NVE4, it looks
like we accidentally broke this when converting over to use Nvidia's
display headers. Since we now use NVVAL in dispnv50/head907d.c in order to
format the value for the cursor layout and NVD9 only had one byte reserved
vs. the 2 bytes reserved in later generations, we end up accidentally
stripping the second bit in the cursor layout format parameter - causing us
to set the wrong cursor size.
This fixes that by adding our own curs_set hook for 917d which uses the
NV917D headers.

Nvidia hardware doesn't actually support using tiling formats with the
cursor plane, only linear is allowed. In the future, we should write a

Atm the driver will calculate a wrong MST timeslots/MTP (aka time unit)
value for MST streams if the link parameters (link rate or lane count)
are limited in a way independent of the sink capabilities (reported by
DPCD).
One example of such a limitation is when a MUX between the sink and
source connects only a limited number of lanes to the display and
connects the rest of the lanes to other peripherals (USB).
Another issue is that atm MST core calculates the divider based on the
backwards compatible DPCD (at address 0x0000) vs. the extended
capability info (at address 0x2200). This can result in leaving some
part of the MST BW unused (For instance in case of the WD19TB dock).
Fix the above two issues by calculating the PBN divider value based on
the rate and lane count link parameters that the driver uses for all
other computation.

On some boards the rpm interface apparently does not work at all
leading to the fan not spinning or spinning at strange speeds.
Revert this for now to fix 5.10, 5.11. The follow on patch
fixes this properly for 5.12.

drm hotplug handling code (drm_client_dev_hotplug()) can wait on mutex,
thus delaying further lt9611uxc IRQ events processing. It was observed
occasionally during bootups, when drm_client_modeset_probe() was waiting
for EDID ready event, which was delayed because IRQ handler was stuck
trying to deliver hotplug event.
Move hotplug notifications from IRQ handler to separate work to be able
to process IRQ events without delays.

The HDCP 1.4 spec does not require the QUERY_STREAM_ENCRYPTION_STATUS
check, it was always a nice-to-have. After deploying this across various
devices, we've determined that some MST bridge chips do not properly
support this call for HDCP 1.4 (namely Synaptics and Realtek).
I had considered creating a quirk for this, but I think it's more
prudent to just disable the check entirely since I don't have an idea
how widespread support is.

Prevent the ICL HDR plane pipeline from performing YUV color range
correction twice when the input is in limited range. This is done by
removing the limited-range code from icl_program_input_csc().
Before this patch the following could happen: user space gives us a YUV
buffer in limited range; per the pipeline in [1], the plane would first
go through a "YUV Range correct" stage that expands the range; the plane
would then go through the "Input CSC" stage which would also expand the
range because icl_program_input_csc() would use a matrix and an offset
that assume limited-range input; this would ultimately cause dark and
light colors to appear darker and lighter than they should respectively.
This is an issue because if a buffer switches between being scanned out
and being composited with the GPU, the user will see a color difference.
If this switching happens quickly and frequently, the user will perceive
this as a flickering.

The first thing the active retirement worker does is decrement the
i915_active count.
The first thing we do during i915_active_wait is try to increment the
i915_active count, but only if already active [non-zero].
The wait may see that the retirement is already started and so marked the
i915_active as idle, and skip waiting for the retirement handler.
However, the caller of i915_active_wait may immediately free the
i915_active upon returning (e.g. i915_vma_destroy) so we must not return
before the concurrent access from the worker is completed. We must
always flush the worker.

The MH PHY vswing table does have all the entries these days. Get
rid of the old hacks in the code which claim otherwise.
This hack was totally bogus anyway. The correct way to handle the
lack of those two entries would have been to declare our max
vswing and pre-emph to both be level 2.

In order to make the dbuf state computation less fragile
let's make it stand on its own feet by not requiring someone
to peek into a crystall ball ahead of time to figure out
which pipes need to be added to the state under which potential
future conditions. Instead we compute each piece of the state
as we go along, and if any fallout occurs that affects more than
the current set of pipes we add the affected pipes to the state
naturally.
That requires that we track a few extra thigns in the global
dbuf state: dbuf slices for each pipe, and the weight each
pipe has when distributing the same set of slice(s) between
multiple pipes. Easy enough.
We do need to follow a somewhat careful sequence of computations
though as there are several steps involved in cooking up the dbuf
state. Thoguh we could avoid some of that by computing more things
on demand instead of relying on earlier step of the algorithm to
have filled it out. I think the end result is still reasonable
as the entire sequence is pretty much consolidated into a single
function instead of being spread around all over.
The rough sequence is this:
1. calculate active_pipes
2. calculate dbuf slices for every pipe
3. calculate total enabled slices
4. calculate new dbuf weights for any crtc in the state
5. calculate new ddb entry for every pipe based on the sets of
slices and weights, and add any affected crtc to the state
6. calculate new plane ddb entries for all crtcs in the state,
and add any affected plane to the state so that we'll perform
the requisite hw reprogramming
And as a nice bonus we get to throw dev_priv->wm.distrust_bios_wm
out the window.

The dbuf state will be where we collect all the inter-pipe dbuf
allocation stuff. Start by adding the actual per-pipe ddb entries
there.
Originally the plan was to move them there outright, but that no longer
works as we're no longer guaranteed to have a dbuf state when it comes
time to sanity check the ddb overlaps in skl_commit_modeset_enables().
I think when I wrote this originally we did the watermark/ddb
calculation last, and so we couldn't have any crtcs in the state w/o
also having the dbuf state. But that has since changed and we do the
watermark/ddb calculation much earlier, and thus it is now possible
to commit crtcs w/o a dbuf state. So we keep another copy of the
information in the crtc state.

Generalize icl_get_first_dbuf_slice_offset() into something that
just gives us the start+end of the dbuf chunk covered by the
specified slices as a standard ddb entry. Initial idea was to use
it during readout as well, but we shall see.

With vrr enabled the hardware no longer latches the registers
automagically at vblank start. The point at which it will do the
latching even when no push has been sent is the vmax decision
boundary. That is the thing we need to evade to avoid our
register latching to get split between two frames.

To get sensible vblank timestamping behaviour we need to feed
the vmax based timings to the vblank code, otherwise it'll chop
off the scanline counter when it exceeds the minumum vtotal.
Additionally with VRR we have three cases to consider when we
generate the vblank timestamp:
1) we are in vertical active
-> nothing special needs to be done, just return the current
scanout position and the core will calculate the timestamp
corresponding to the past time when the current vertical
active started
2) we are in vertical blank and no push has been sent
-> the hardware will keep extending the vblank presumably
to its maximum length, so we make the timestmap match the
expected time when the max length vblank will end. Since
the timings used for this are now based on vmax nothing
special actually needs to be done
3) we are in vblank and a push has been sent so the vblank is
about to terminate
-> presumably we want the timestmap to accurately reflect
when the vblank will terminate, so we use the sampled
frame timestamp vs. current timestamp to guesstimate
how far along the vblank exit we are, and then we
adjust the reported scanout position accordingly so
that the core will see that the vblank is close to
ending.

With VRR the earliest the registers can get latched are at
flipline decision boundary, calculate that as vrr_vmin_vblank_start()
and the latest the regsiters can get latched are vmax decision boundary
calculate that as vrr_vmax_vblank_start()

If VRR is enabled, the sink should ignore MSA parameters
and regenerate incoming video stream without depending
on these parameters. Hence set the MSA_TIMING_PAR_IGNORE_EN
bit if VRR is enabled.
Reset this bit on VRR disable.
