Christian König 4722f46389 drm/radeon: fix error handling in radeon_driver_open_kms
The return value was never initialized so the cleanup code executed when
it isn't even necessary.

Just add proper error handling.

Zhou Qingyang ab50cb9df8 drm/radeon/radeon_kms: Fix a NULL pointer dereference in radeon_driver_open_kms()
In radeon_driver_open_kms(), radeon_vm_bo_add() is assigned to
vm->ib_bo_va and passes and used in radeon_vm_bo_set_addr(). In
radeon_vm_bo_set_addr(), there is a dereference of vm->ib_bo_va,
which could lead to a NULL pointer dereference on failure of
radeon_vm_bo_add().

Fix this bug by adding a check of vm->ib_bo_va.

This bug was found by a static analyzer. The analysis employs
differential checking to identify inconsistent security operations
(e.g., checks or kfrees) between two code paths and confirms that the
inconsistent operations are not recovered in the current function or
the callers, so they constitute bugs.

Note that, as a bug found by static analysis, it can be a false
positive or hard to trigger. Multiple researchers have cross-reviewed
the bug.

Builds with CONFIG_DRM_RADEON=m show no new warnings,
and our static analyzer no longer warns about this code.

Colin Ian King 8dbc2ccac5 drm/radeon: fix copy of uninitialized variable back to userspace
Currently the ioctl command RADEON_INFO_SI_BACKEND_ENABLED_MASK can
copy back uninitialised data in value_tmp that pointer *value points
to. This can occur when rdev->family is less than CHIP_BONAIRE and
less than CHIP_TAHITI. Fix this by adding in a missing -EINVAL
so that no invalid value is copied back to userspace.

Daniel Vetter 384bc5e059 drm/radeon: Stop changing the drm_driver struct
With only the kms driver left, we can fold this in. This means
we need to move the ioctl table, which means one additional ioctl
must be defined in headers.

Also there's a conflict between the radeon_init macro and the module
init function, so rename the module functions to avoid that.

Daniel Vetter b8076b5e5b drm/radeon: Inline drm_get_pci_dev
It's the last user, and more importantly, it's the last non-legacy
user of anything in drm_pci.c.

The only tricky bit is the agp initialization. But a close look shows
that radeon does not use the drm_agp midlayer (the main use of that is
drm_bufs for legacy drivers), and instead could use the agp subsystem
directly (like nouveau does already). Hence we can just pull this in
too.

A further step would be to entirely drop the use of drm_device->agp,
but feels like too much churn just for this patch.

Rafael J. Wysocki 450d007d19 gpu: drm: radeon: Set DPM_FLAG_NEVER_SKIP when enabling PM-runtime
On HP ProBook 4540s, if PM-runtime is enabled in the radeon driver
and the direct-complete optimization is used for the radeon device
during system-wide suspend, the system doesn't resume.

Preventing direct-complete from being used with the radeon device by
setting the DPM_FLAG_NEVER_SKIP driver flag for it makes the problem
go away, which indicates that direct-complete is not safe for the
radeon driver in general and should not be used with it (at least
for now).

This fixes a regression introduced by commit c62ec4610c
("PM / core: Fix direct_complete handling for devices with no
callbacks") which allowed direct-complete to be applied to
devices without PM callbacks (again) which in turn unlocked
direct-complete for radeon on HP ProBook 4540s.

Daniel Vetter 1bf6ad622b drm/vblank: drop the mode argument from drm_calc_vbltimestamp_from_scanoutpos
If we restrict this helper to only kms drivers (which is the case) we
can look up the correct mode easily ourselves. But it's a bit tricky:

- All legacy drivers look at crtc->hwmode. But that is updated already
at the beginning of the modeset helper, which means when we disable
a pipe. Hence the final timestamps might be a bit off. But since
this is an existing bug I'm not going to change it, but just try to
be bug-for-bug compatible with the current code. This only applies
  to radeon&amdgpu.

- i915 tries to get it perfect by updating crtc->hwmode when the pipe
  is off (i.e. vblank->enabled = false).

- All other atomic drivers look at crtc->state->adjusted_mode. Those
that look at state->requested_mode simply don't adjust their mode,
so it's the same. That has two problems: Accessing crtc->state from
interrupt handling code is unsafe, and it's updated before we shut
down the pipe. For nonblocking modesets it's even worse.

For atomic drivers try to implement what i915 does. To do that we add
a new hwmode field to the vblank structure, and update it from
drm_calc_timestamping_constants(). For atomic drivers that's called
from the right spot by the helper library already, so all fine. But
for safety let's enforce that.

For legacy driver this function is only called at the end (oh the
fun), which is broken, so again let's not bother and just stay
bug-for-bug compatible.

The benefit is that we can use drm_calc_vbltimestamp_from_scanoutpos
directly to implement ->get_vblank_timestamp in every driver, deleting
a lot of code.

v2: Completely new approach, trying to mimick the i915 solution.

v3: Fixup kerneldoc.

v4: Drop the WARN_ON to check that the vblank is off, atomic helpers
currently unconditionally call this. Recomputing the same stuff should
be harmless.

v5: Fix typos and move misplaced hunks to the right patches (Neil).

v6: Undo hunk movement (kbuild).

Daniel Vetter d673c02c4b drm/vblank: Switch drm_driver->get_vblank_timestamp to return a bool
There's really no reason for anything more:
- Calling this while the crtc vblank stuff isn't set up is a driver
  bug. Those places alrready DRM_ERROR.
- Calling this when the crtc is off is either a driver bug (calling
drm_crtc_handle_vblank at the wrong time) or a core bug (for
  anything else). Again, we DRM_ERROR.
- EINVAL is checked at higher levels already, and if we'd use struct
drm_crtc * instead of (dev, pipe) it would be real obvious that
  those are again core bugs.

The only valid failure mode is crap hardware that couldn't sample a
useful timestamp, to ask the core to just grab a not-so-accurate
timestamp. Bool is perfectly fine for that.

v2: Also fix up the one caller, I lost that in the shuffling (Jani).

vga_switcheroo. In fact, when the external GPU is runtime suspended,
vga_switcheroo will cut power to the internal discrete GPU, resulting in
a lockup. Moreover AMD's Windows driver special-cases Thunderbolt as
well.

Daniel Vetter 2ce0264d61 drm: remove device_is_agp callback
With that the drm_pci_device_is_agp function becomes trivial, so
inline that too. And while at it, move the drm_pci_agp_destroy
declaration into drm-internal.h, since it's not used by drivers.

Lukas Wunner 8fecb6a9e6 drm/radeon: Forbid runtime pm on driver unload
The PCI core calls pm_runtime_forbid() on device probe in pci_pm_init(),
making this the default state when radeon is loaded.
radeon_driver_load_kms() therefore calls pm_runtime_allow(), but there's
no pm_runtime_forbid() in radeon_driver_unload_kms() to balance it. Add
it so that we leave the device in the same state that we found it.

This isn't a bug, it's just good housekeeping. When radeon is first
loaded with runpm=1, then unloaded and loaded again with runpm=0,
pm_runtime_forbid() will be called from radeon_pmops_runtime_idle() or
radeon_pmops_runtime_suspend(), so the behaviour is correct. If there
ever is a third party driver for AMD cards, this commit avoids that it
has to clean up behind radeon.

Lukas Wunner 19de659cb7 drm/radeon: Don't leak runtime pm ref on driver unload
radeon_driver_load_kms() calls pm_runtime_put_autosuspend() if
radeon_is_px(dev), but radeon_driver_unload_kms() calls
pm_runtime_get_sync() unconditionally. We therefore leak a runtime pm
ref whenever radeon is unloaded on a non-PX machine or if runpm=0. The
GPU will subsequently never runtime suspend after loading radeon again.

Fix by taking the runtime pm ref under the same condition that it was
released on driver load.

Thierry Reding 4e926d2db5 drm/radeon: Update radeon_get_vblank_counter_kms()
Commit 88e72717c2 ("drm/irq: Use unsigned int pipe in public API")
updated the prototype of this function but not the implementation. This
wasn't noticed even through compile tests because the prototype is part
of the source file that uses it and hence the compiler won't know the
prototype when it compiles the implementation.

The right thing would've been to move the prototype to a header that's
included in radeon_kms.c so that the implementation signature could be
checked against it, but the closest thing would've been radeon_drv.h
and including that results in a lot of build errors, so we'll leave it
as is for now.
