Before adding yet another possibly contended atomic_long_t,
it is time to add per-cpu storage for existing ones:
dev->tx_dropped, dev->rx_dropped, and dev->rx_nohandler
Because many devices do not have to increment such counters,
allocate the per-cpu storage on demand, so that dev_get_stats()
does not have to spend considerable time folding zero counters.
Note that some drivers have abused these counters which
were supposed to be only used by core networking stack.

Right now, skb->tstamp is reset to 0 whenever the skb is forwarded.
If skb->tstamp has the mono delivery_time, clearing it can hurt
the performance when it finally transmits out to fq@phy-dev.
The earlier patch added a skb->mono_delivery_time bit to
flag the skb->tstamp carrying the mono delivery_time.
This patch adds skb_clear_tstamp() helper which keeps
the mono delivery_time and clears everything else.
The delivery_time clearing will be postponed until the stack knows the
skb will be delivered locally. It will be done in a latter patch.

in tunnel mode, if outer interface(ipv4) is less, it is easily to let
inner IPV6 mtu be less than 1280. If so, a Packet Too Big ICMPV6 message
is received. When send again, packets are fragmentized with 1280, they
are still rejected with ICMPV6(Packet Too Big) by xfrmi_xmit2().
According to RFC4213 Section3.2.2:
if (IPv4 path MTU - 20) is less than 1280
if packet is larger than 1280 bytes
Send ICMPv6 "packet too big" with MTU=1280
Drop packet
else
Encapsulate but do not set the Don't Fragment
flag in the IPv4 header. The resulting IPv4
packet might be fragmented by the IPv4 layer
on the encapsulator or by some router along
the IPv4 path.

else
if packet is larger than (IPv4 path MTU - 20)
Send ICMPv6 "packet too big" with
MTU = (IPv4 path MTU - 20).
Drop packet.
else
Encapsulate and set the Don't Fragment flag
in the IPv4 header.

Packets should be fragmentized with ipv4 outer interface, so change it.
After it is fragemtized with ipv4, there will be double fragmenation.
No.48 & No.51 are ipv6 fragment packets, No.48 is double fragmentized,
then tunneled with IPv4(No.49& No.50), which obey spec. And received peer

struct xfrm_user_offload has flags variable that received user input,
but kernel didn't check if valid bits were provided. It caused a situation
where not sanitized input was forwarded directly to the drivers.
For example, XFRM_OFFLOAD_IPV6 define that was exposed, was used by
strongswan, but not implemented in the kernel at all.
As a solution, check and sanitize input flags to forward
XFRM_OFFLOAD_INBOUND to the drivers.

This reverts commit b515d26372.
Commit b515d26372 ("xfrm: xfrm_state_mtu
should return at least 1280 for ipv6") in v5.14 breaks the TCP MSS
calculation in ipsec transport mode, resulting complete stalls of TCP
connections. This happens when the (P)MTU is 1280 or slighly larger.
The desired formula for the MSS is:
MSS = (MTU - ESP_overhead) - IP header - TCP header
However, the above commit clamps the (MTU - ESP_overhead) to a
minimum of 1280, turning the formula into
MSS = max(MTU - ESP overhead, 1280) - IP header - TCP header
With the (P)MTU near 1280, the calculated MSS is too large and the
resulting TCP packets never make it to the destination because they
are over the actual PMTU.
The above commit also causes suboptimal double fragmentation in
xfrm tunnel mode, as described in
https://lore.kernel.org/netdev/20210429202529.codhwpc7w6kbudug@dwarf.suse.cz/

xfrm_migrate cannot handle address family change of an xfrm_state.
The symptons are the xfrm_state will be migrated to a wrong address,
and sending as well as receiving packets wil be broken.
This commit fixes it by breaking the original xfrm_state_clone
method into two steps so as to update the props.family before
running xfrm_init_state. As the result, xfrm_state's inner mode,
outer mode, type and IP header length in xfrm_state_migrate can
be updated with the new address family.

This patch enables distinguishing SAs and SPs based on if_id during
the xfrm_migrate flow. This ensures support for xfrm interfaces
throughout the SA/SP lifecycle.
When there are multiple existing SPs with the same direction,
the same xfrm_selector and different endpoint addresses,
xfrm_migrate might fail with ENODATA.
Specifically, the code path for performing xfrm_migrate is:
Stage 1: find policy to migrate with
xfrm_migrate_policy_find(sel, dir, type, net)
Stage 2: find and update state(s) with
xfrm_migrate_state_find(mp, net)
Stage 3: update endpoint address(es) of template(s) with
xfrm_policy_migrate(pol, m, num_migrate)
Currently "Stage 1" always returns the first xfrm_policy that
matches, and "Stage 3" looks for the xfrm_tmpl that matches the
old endpoint address. Thus if there are multiple xfrm_policy
with same selector, direction, type and net, "Stage 1" might
rertun a wrong xfrm_policy and "Stage 3" will fail with ENODATA
because it cannot find a xfrm_tmpl with the matching endpoint
address.
The fix is to allow userspace to pass an if_id and add if_id
to the matching rule in Stage 1 and Stage 2 since if_id is a
unique ID for xfrm_policy and xfrm_state. For compatibility,
if_id will only be checked if the attribute is set.

Kernel generates mapping change message, XFRM_MSG_MAPPING,
when a source port chage is detected on a input state with UDP
encapsulation set. Kernel generates a message for each IPsec packet
with new source port. For a high speed flow per packet mapping change
message can be excessive, and can overload the user space listener.
Introduce rate limiting for XFRM_MSG_MAPPING message to the user space.
The rate limiting is configurable via netlink, when adding a new SA or
updating it. Use the new attribute XFRMA_MTIMER_THRESH in seconds.

The end goal of the current buffer overflow detection work[0] is to gain
full compile-time and run-time coverage of all detectable buffer overflows
seen via array indexing or memcpy(), memmove(), and memset(). The str*()
family of functions already have full coverage.
While much of the work for these changes have been on-going for many
releases (i.e. 0-element and 1-element array replacements, as well as
avoiding false positives and fixing discovered overflows[1]), this series
contains the foundational elements of several related buffer overflow
detection improvements by providing new common helpers and FORTIFY_SOURCE
changes needed to gain the introspection required for compiler visibility
into array sizes. Also included are a handful of already Acked instances
using the helpers (or related clean-ups), with many more waiting at the
ready to be taken via subsystem-specific trees[2]. The new helpers are:
- struct_group() for gaining struct member range introspection.
- memset_after() and memset_startat() for clearing to the end of structures.
- DECLARE_FLEX_ARRAY() for using flex arrays in unions or alone in structs.
Also included is the beginning of the refactoring of FORTIFY_SOURCE to
support memcpy() introspection, fix missing and regressed coverage under
GCC, and to prepare to fix the currently broken Clang support. Finishing
this work is part of the larger series[0], but depends on all the false
positives and buffer overflow bug fixes to have landed already and those
that depend on this series to land.
As part of the FORTIFY_SOURCE refactoring, a set of both a compile-time
and run-time tests are added for FORTIFY_SOURCE and the mem*()-family
functions respectively. The compile time tests have found a legitimate
(though corner-case) bug[6] already.
Please note that the appearance of "panic" and "BUG" in the
FORTIFY_SOURCE refactoring are the result of relocating existing code,
and no new use of those code-paths are expected nor desired.
Finally, there are two tree-wide conversions for 0-element arrays and
flexible array unions to gain sane compiler introspection coverage that
result in no known object code differences.
After this series (and the changes that have now landed via netdev
and usb), we are very close to finally being able to build with
-Warray-bounds and -Wzero-length-bounds. However, due corner cases in
GCC[3] and Clang[4], I have not included the last two patches that turn
on these options, as I don't want to introduce any known warnings to
the build. Hopefully these can be solved soon.

The variable err is not necessary in such places. It should be revmoved
for the simplicity of the code. This will cause the double parentheses
to be redundant, and the inner parentheses should be deleted.
The clang_analyzer complains as follows:
net/xfrm/xfrm_input.c:533: warning:
net/xfrm/xfrm_input.c:563: warning:
Although the value stored to 'err' is used in the enclosing expression,
the value is never actually read from 'err'.
Changes in v2:
Modify the title, because v2 removes the brackets.

In preparation for FORTIFY_SOURCE performing compile-time and run-time
field bounds checking for memset(), avoid intentionally writing across
neighboring fields.
Clear trailing padding bytes using the new helper so that memset()
doesn't get confused about writing "past the end" of the last struct
member. There is no change to the resulting machine code.

up->dirmask comes from user-space, so we need to check if this value

The attribute-translator has to take in mind maxtype, that is
xfrm_link::nla_max. When it is set, attributes are not of xfrm_attr_type_t.
Currently, they can be only XFRMA_SPD_MAX (message XFRM_MSG_NEWSPDINFO),
their UABI is the same for 64/32-bit, so just copy them.
Thanks to YueHaibing for reporting this:
In xfrm_user_rcv_msg_compat() if maxtype is not zero and less than
XFRMA_MAX, nlmsg_parse_deprecated() do not initialize attrs array fully.
xfrm_xlate32() will access uninit 'attrs[i]' while iterating all attrs
array.

As the default we assume the traffic to pass, if we have no
matching IPsec policy. With this patch, we have a possibility to
change this default from allow to block. It can be configured
via netlink. Each direction (input/output/forward) can be
configured separately. With the default to block configuered,
we need allow policies for all packet flows we accept.
We do not use default policy lookup for the loopback device.

xfrm_bydst_resize() calls synchronize_rcu() while holding
hash_resize_mutex. But then on PREEMPT_RT configurations,
xfrm_policy_lookup_bytype() may acquire that mutex while running in an
RCU read side critical section. This results in a deadlock.
In fact the scope of hash_resize_mutex is way beyond the purpose of
xfrm_policy_lookup_bytype() to just fetch a coherent and stable policy
for a given destination/direction, along with other details.
The lower level net->xfrm.xfrm_policy_lock, which among other things
protects per destination/direction references to policy entries, is
enough to serialize and benefit from priority inheritance against the
write side. As a bonus, it makes it officially a per network namespace
synchronization business where a policy table resize on namespace A
shouldn't block a policy lookup on namespace B.

In case of xfrm offload, if xdo_dev_state_add() of driver returns
-EOPNOTSUPP, xfrm offload fallback is failed.
In xfrm state_add() both xso->dev and xso->real_dev are initialized to
dev and when err(-EOPNOTSUPP) is returned only xso->dev is set to null.
So in this scenario the condition in func validate_xmit_xfrm(),
if ((x->xso.dev != dev) && (x->xso.real_dev == dev))
return skb;
returns true, due to which skb is returned without calling esp_xmit()
below which has fallback code. Hence the CRYPTO_FALLBACK is failing.
So fixing this with by keeping x->xso.real_dev as NULL when err is
returned in func xfrm_dev_state_add().

In commit 68dc022d04 ("xfrm: BEET mode doesn't support fragments
for inner packets"), it tried to fix the issue that in TX side the
packet is fragmented before the ESP encapping while in the RX side
the fragments always get reassembled before decapping with ESP.
This is not true for IPv6. IPv6 is different, and it's using exthdr
to save fragment info, as well as the ESP info. Exthdrs are added
in TX and processed in RX both in order. So in the above case, the
ESP decapping will be done earlier than the fragment reassembling
in TX side.
Here just remove the fragment check for the IPv6 inner packets to
recover the fragments support for BEET mode.

xfrm_policy_lookup_bytype loops on seqcount mutex xfrm_policy_hash_generation
within an RCU read side critical section. Although ill advised, this is fine if
the loop is bounded.
xfrm_policy_hash_generation wraps mutex hash_resize_mutex, which is used to
serialize writers (xfrm_hash_resize, xfrm_hash_rebuild). This is fine too.
On PREEMPT_RT=y, the read_seqcount_begin call within xfrm_policy_lookup_bytype
emits a mutex lock/unlock for hash_resize_mutex. Mutex locking is fine, since
RCU read side critical sections are allowed to sleep with PREEMPT_RT.
xfrm_hash_resize can, however, block on synchronize_rcu while holding
hash_resize_mutex.
This leads to the following situation on PREEMPT_RT, where the writer is
blocked on RCU grace period expiry, while the reader is blocked on a lock held
by the writer:
Thead 1 (xfrm_hash_resize) Thread 2 (xfrm_policy_lookup_bytype)
rcu_read_lock();
mutex_lock(&hash_resize_mutex);
read_seqcount_begin(&xfrm_policy_hash_generation);
mutex_lock(&hash_resize_mutex); // block
xfrm_bydst_resize();
synchronize_rcu(); // block
<RCU stalls in xfrm_policy_lookup_bytype>
Move the read_seqcount_begin call outside of the RCU read side critical section,
and do an rcu_read_unlock/retry if we got stale data within the critical section.
On non-PREEMPT_RT, this shortens the time spent within RCU read side critical
section in case the seqcount needs a retry, and avoids unbounded looping.

While testing ipcomp on a realtime kernel, Xiumei reported a "sleeping
in atomic" bug, caused by a memory allocation while preemption is
disabled (ipcomp_decompress -> alloc_page -> ... get_page_from_freelist).
As Sebastian noted [1], this get_cpu() isn't actually needed, since
ipcomp_decompress() is called in napi context anyway, so BH is already
disabled.
This patch replaces get_cpu + per_cpu_ptr with this_cpu_ptr, then
simplifies the error returns, since there isn't any common operation
left.

We can fix this by forcing xfrm_state_mtu to return IPV6_MIN_MTU when
IPv6 is used. After going through IPsec, the packet will then be
fragmented to obey the actual network's PMTU, just before leaving the
host.
Currently, TFC padding is capped to PMTU - overhead to avoid
fragementation: after padding and encapsulation, we still fit within
the PMTU. That behavior is preserved in this patch.

Commit 94579ac3f6 ("xfrm: Fix double ESP trailer insertion in IPsec
crypto offload.") added a XFRM_XMIT flag to avoid duplicate ESP trailer
insertion on HW offload. This flag is set on the secpath that is shared
amongst segments. This lead to a situation where some segments are
not transformed correctly when segmentation happens at layer 3.
Fix this by using private skb extensions for segmented and hw offloaded
ESP packets.

BEET mode replaces the IP(6) Headers with new IP(6) Headers when sending
packets. However, when it's a fragment before the replacement, currently
kernel keeps the fragment flag and replace the address field then encaps
it with ESP. It would cause in RX side the fragments to get reassembled
before decapping with ESP, which is incorrect.
In Xiumei's testing, these fragments went over an xfrm interface and got
encapped with ESP in the device driver, and the traffic was broken.
I don't have a good way to fix it, but only to warn this out in dmesg.

A sequence counter write section must be serialized or its internal
state can get corrupted. A plain seqcount_t does not contain the
information of which lock must be held to guaranteee write side
serialization.
For xfrm_state_hash_generation, use seqcount_spinlock_t instead of plain
seqcount_t. This allows to associate the spinlock used for write
serialization with the sequence counter. It thus enables lockdep to
verify that the write serialization lock is indeed held before entering
the sequence counter write section.
If lockdep is disabled, this lock association is compiled out and has
neither storage size nor runtime overhead.

A sequence counter write section must be serialized or its internal
state can get corrupted. The "xfrm_state_hash_generation" seqcount is
global, but its write serialization lock (net->xfrm.xfrm_state_lock) is
instantiated per network namespace. The write protection is thus
insufficient.
To provide full protection, localize the sequence counter per network
namespace instead. This should be safe as both the seqcount read and
write sections access data exclusively within the network namespace. It
also lays the foundation for transforming "xfrm_state_hash_generation"
data type from seqcount_t to seqcount_LOCKNAME_t in further commits.

A situation can occur where the interface bound to the sk is different
to the interface bound to the sk attached to the skb. The interface
bound to the sk is the correct one however this information is lost inside
xfrm_output2 and instead the sk on the skb is used in xfrm_output_resume
instead. This assumes that the sk bound interface and the bound interface
attached to the sk within the skb are the same which can lead to lookup
failures inside ip_route_me_harder resulting in the packet being dropped.
We have an l2tp v3 tunnel with ipsec protection. The tunnel is in the
global VRF however we have an encapsulated dot1q tunnel interface that
is within a different VRF. We also have a mangle rule that marks the
packets causing them to be processed inside ip_route_me_harder.
Prior to commit 31c70d5956 ("l2tp: keep original skb ownership") this
worked fine as the sk attached to the skb was changed from the dot1q
encapsulated interface to the sk for the tunnel which meant the interface
bound to the sk and the interface bound to the skb were identical.
Commit 46d6c5ae95 ("netfilter: use actual socket sk rather than skb sk
when routing harder") fixed some of these issues however a similar
problem existed in the xfrm code.

The disable_xfrm flag signals that xfrm should not be performed during
routing towards a device before reaching device xmit.
For xfrm interfaces this is usually desired as they perform the outbound
policy lookup as part of their xmit using their if_id.
Before this change enabling this flag on xfrm interfaces prevented them
from xmitting as xfrm_lookup_with_ifid() would not perform a policy lookup
in case the original dst had the DST_NOXFRM flag.
This optimization is incorrect when the lookup is done by the xfrm
interface xmit logic.
Fix by performing policy lookup when invoked by xfrmi as if_id != 0.
Similarly it's unlikely for the 'no policy exists on net' check to yield
any performance benefits when invoked from xfrmi.

Analysis revealed offending code is when accessing:
replay_esn->bmp[nr] |= (1U << bitnr);
with 'nr' being 0x07fffffa.
This happened in an SMP system when reordering of packets was present;
A packet arrived with a "too old" sequence number (outside the window,
i.e 'diff > replay_window'), and therefore the following calculation:
bitnr = replay_esn->replay_window - (diff - pos);
yields a negative result, but since bitnr is u32 we get a large unsigned
quantity (in crash dump above: 0xffffff4b seen in ecx).
This was supposed to be protected by xfrm_input()'s former call to:
if (x->repl->check(x, skb, seq)) {
However, the state's spinlock x->lock is *released* after '->check()'
is performed, and gets re-acquired before '->advance()' - which gives a
chance for a different core to update the xfrm state, e.g. by advancing
'replay_esn->seq' when it encounters more packets - leading to a
'diff > replay_window' situation when original core continues to
xfrm_replay_advance_bmp().
An attempt to fix this issue was suggested in commit bcf66bf54a
("xfrm: Perform a replay check after return from async codepaths"),
by calling 'x->repl->recheck()' after lock is re-acquired, but fix
applied only to asyncronous crypto algorithms.
Augment the fix, by *always* calling 'recheck()' - irrespective if we're
using async crypto.

xfrm_xlate32() translates 64-bit message provided by kernel to be sent
for 32-bit listener (acknowledge or monitor). Translator code doesn't
expect XFRMA_UNSPEC attribute as it doesn't know its payload.
Kernel never attaches such attribute, but a user can.
I've searched if any opensource does it and the answer is no.
Nothing on github and google finds only tfcproject that has such code
commented-out.
What will happen if a user sends a netlink message with XFRMA_UNSPEC
attribute? Ipsec code ignores this attribute. But if there is a
monitor-process or 32-bit user requested ack - kernel will try to
translate such message and will hit WARN_ONCE() in xfrm_xlate64_attr().
Deal with XFRMA_UNSPEC by copying the attribute payload with
xfrm_nla_cpy(). In result, the default switch-case in xfrm_xlate64_attr()
becomes an unused code. Leave those 3 lines in case a new xfrm attribute
will be added.

/*add x into hlist:net->xfrm.state_byspi 2 times*/
hlist_add_head_rcu(&x->byspi)
1. a new state x is alloced in xfrm_state_alloc() and added into the bydst hlist
in __find_acq_core() on the LHS;
2. on the RHS, state_hash_work thread travels the old bydst and tranfers every xfrm_state
(include x) into the new bydst hlist and new byspi hlist;
3. user thread on the LHS gets the lock and adds x into the new byspi hlist again.
So the same xfrm_state (x) is added into the same list_hash
(net->xfrm.state_byspi) 2 times that makes the list_hash become
an inifite loop.
To fix the race, x->id.spi = htonl(spi) in the xfrm_alloc_spi() is moved
to the back of spin_lock_bh, sothat state_hash_work thread no longer add x
which id.spi is zero into the hash_list.

As Nicolas noticed in his case, when xfrm_interface module is installed
the standard IP tunnels will break in receiving packets.
This is caused by the IP tunnel handlers with a higher priority in xfrm
interface processing incoming packets by xfrm_input(), which would drop
the packets and return 0 instead when anything wrong happens.
Rather than changing xfrm_input(), this patch is to adjust the priority
for the IP tunnel handlers in xfrm interface, so that the packets would
go to xfrmi's later than the others', as the others' would not drop the
packets when the handlers couldn't process them.
Note that IPCOMP also defines its own IPIP tunnel handler and it calls
xfrm_input() as well, so we must make its priority lower than xfrmi's,
which means having xfrmi loaded would still break IPCOMP. We may seek
another way to fix it in xfrm_input() in the future.

The struct flowi must never be interpreted by itself as its size
depends on the address family. Therefore it must always be grouped
with its original family value.
In this particular instance, the original family value is lost in
the function xfrm_state_find. Therefore we get a bogus read when
it's coupled with the wrong family which would occur with inter-
family xfrm states.
This patch fixes it by keeping the original family value.
Note that the same bug could potentially occur in LSM through
the xfrm_state_pol_flow_match hook. I checked the current code
there and it seems to be safe for now as only secid is used which
is part of struct flowi_common. But that API should be changed
so that so that we don't get new bugs in the future. We could
do that by replacing fl with just secid or adding a family field.

While generaly useful this comes with a Trojan Horse twist: On RT

associated lock pointer independent of lockdep in the seqcount and
changing the reader side to block on the lock when a reader detects

Currently, short messages (less than 4 bytes after the length header)
will break the stream of messages. This is unnecessary, since we can
still parse messages even if they're too short to contain any usable
data. This is also bogus, as keepalive messages (a single 0xff byte),
though not needed with TCP encapsulation, should be allowed.
This patch changes the stream parser so that short messages are
accepted and dropped in the kernel. Messages that contain a valid SPI
or non-ESP header are processed as before.

A sequence counter write side critical section must be protected by some
form of locking to serialize writers. If the serialization primitive is
not disabling preemption implicitly, preemption has to be explicitly
disabled before entering the sequence counter write side critical
section.
A plain seqcount_t does not contain the information of which lock must
be held when entering a write side critical section.
Use the new seqcount_spinlock_t and seqcount_mutex_t data types instead,
which allow to associate a lock with the sequence counter. This enables
lockdep to verify that the lock used for writer serialization is held
when the write side critical section is entered.
If lockdep is disabled this lock association is compiled out and has
neither storage size nor runtime overhead.

The xfrm interface uses skb->protocol to determine packet type, and
bails out if it's not set. For AF_PACKET injection, we need to support
its call chain of:
packet_sendmsg -> packet_snd -> packet_parse_headers ->
dev_parse_header_protocol -> parse_protocol
Without a valid parse_protocol, this returns zero, and xfrmi rejects the
skb. So, this wires up the ip_tunnel handler for layer 3 packets for
that case.

by userland, as Tobias reported in strongswan.
To fix this duplicated policies issue, and also fix the issue in
commit ed17b8d377 ("xfrm: fix a warning in xfrm_policy_insert_list"),
when doing add/del/get/update on user interfaces, this patch is to change
to look up a policy with both mark and mask by doing:
mark.v == pol->mark.v && mark.m == pol->mark.m
and leave the check:
(mark & pol->mark.m) == pol->mark.v
for tx/rx path only.
As the userland expects an exact mark and mask match to manage policies.
v1->v2:
- make xfrm_policy_mark_match inline and fix the changelog as
Tobias suggested.

RFC 4303 in section 3.3.3 suggests to disable anti-replay for manually
distributed ICVs in which case the sender does not need to monitor or
reset the counter. However, the sender still increments the counter and
when it reaches the maximum value, the counter rolls over back to zero.
This patch introduces new extra_flag XFRM_SA_XFLAG_OSEQ_MAY_WRAP which
allows sequence number to cycle in outbound packets if set. This flag is
used only in legacy and bmp code, because esn should not be negotiated
if anti-replay is disabled (see note in 3.3.3 section).

Rather than requiring every hw crypto capable NIC driver to do a check for
slave_dev being set, set real_dev in the xfrm layer and xso init time, and
then override it in the bonding driver as needed. Then NIC drivers can
always use real_dev, and at the same time, we eliminate the use of a
variable name that probably shouldn't have been used in the first place,
particularly given recent current events.

The crypto algorithms selected by the ESP and AH kconfig options are
out-of-date with the guidance of RFC 8221, which lists the legacy
algorithms MD5 and DES as "MUST NOT" be implemented, and some more
modern algorithms like AES-GCM and HMAC-SHA256 as "MUST" be implemented.
But the options select the legacy algorithms, not the modern ones.
Therefore, modify these options to select the MUST algorithms --
and *only* the MUST algorithms.
Also improve the help text.
Note that other algorithms may still be explicitly enabled in the
kconfig, and the choice of which to actually use is still controlled by
userspace. This change only modifies the list of algorithms for which
kernel support is guaranteed to be present.

During IPsec performance testing, we see bad ICMP checksum. The error packet
has duplicated ESP trailer due to double validate_xmit_xfrm calls. The first call
is from ip_output, but the packet cannot be sent because
netif_xmit_frozen_or_stopped is true and the packet gets dev_requeue_skb. The second
call is from NET_TX softirq. However after the first call, the packet already
has the ESP trailer.
Fix by marking the skb with XFRM_XMIT bit after the packet is handled by
validate_xmit_xfrm to avoid duplicate ESP trailer insertion.

However, policy [3] will actually match both [1] and [2]. Policy [1]
was matched due to the 1st 'return true' in xfrm_policy_mark_match(),
and policy [2] was matched due to the 2nd 'return true' in there. It
caused WARN_ON() in xfrm_policy_insert_list().

There are only two implementaions, one for ipv4 and one for ipv6.
Both are almost identical, they clear skb->cb[], set the TRANSFORMED flag
in IP(6)CB and then call the common xfrm_output() function.
By placing the IPCB handling into the common function, we avoid the need
for the output_finish indirection as the output functions can simply
use xfrm_output().

The function only initializes the XFRM CB in the skb.
After previous patch xfrm4_extract_header is only called from
net/xfrm/xfrm_{input,output}.c.
Because of IPV6=m linker errors the ipv6 equivalent
(xfrm6_extract_header) was already placed in xfrm_inout.h because
we can't call functions residing in a module from the core.

This extends espintcp to support IPv6, building on the existing code
and the new UDPv6 encapsulation support. Most of the code is either
reused directly (stream parser, ULP) or very similar to the IPv4
variant (net/ipv6/esp6.c changes).
The separation of config options for IPv4 and IPv6 espintcp requires a
bit of Kconfig gymnastics to enable the core code.

It was caused by that skb secpath is used in esp_output_done() after it's
been released elsewhere.
The tx path for esp offload is:
__dev_queue_xmit()->
validate_xmit_skb_list()->
validate_xmit_xfrm()->
esp_xmit()->
esp_output_tail()->
aead_request_set_callback(esp_output_done) <--[1]
crypto_aead_encrypt() <--[2]
In [1], .callback is set, and in [2] it will trigger the worker schedule,
later on a kernel thread will call .callback(esp_output_done), as the call
trace shows.
But in validate_xmit_xfrm():
skb_list_walk_safe(skb, skb2, nskb) {
...
err = x->type_offload->xmit(x, skb2, esp_features); [esp_xmit]
...
}
When the err is -EINPROGRESS, which means this skb2 will be enqueued and
later gets encrypted and sent out by .callback later in a kernel thread,
skb2 should be removed fromt skb chain. Otherwise, it will get processed
again outside validate_xmit_xfrm(), which could release skb secpath, and
cause the panic above.
This patch is to remove the skb from the chain when it's enqueued in
cryptd_wq. While at it, remove the unnecessary 'if (!skb)' check.

The only users for such argument are the UDP protocol and the UNIX
socket family. We can safely reclaim the accounted memory directly
from the UDP code and, after the previous patch, we can do scm
stats accounting outside the datagram helpers.
Overall this cleans up a bit some datagram-related helpers, and
avoids an indirect call per packet in the UDP receive path.

from the net-next tree and commit:
b50b0580d2 ("net: add queue argument to __skb_wait_for_more_packets and __skb_{,try_}recv_datagram")

This is converts xfrm segment iteration to use the new function, keeping
the flow of the existing code as intact as possible. One case is very
straight-forward, whereas the other case has some more subtle code that
likes to peak at ->next and relink skbs. By keeping the variables the
same as before, we can upgrade this code with minimal surgery required.

With an ebpf program that redirects packets through a xfrm interface,
packets are dropped because no dst is attached to skb.
This could also be reproduced with an AF_PACKET socket, with the following
python script (xfrm1 is a xfrm interface):
import socket
send_s = socket.socket(socket.AF_PACKET, socket.SOCK_RAW, 0)
# scapy
# p = IP(src='10.100.0.2', dst='10.200.0.1')/ICMP(type='echo-request')
# raw(p)
req = b'E\x00\x00\x1c\x00\x01\x00\x00@\x01e\xb2\nd\x00\x02\n\xc8\x00\x01\x08\x00\xf7\xff\x00\x00\x00\x00'
send_s.sendto(req, ('xfrm1', 0x800, 0, 0))
It was also not possible to send an ip packet through an AF_PACKET socket
because a LL header was expected. Let's remove those LL header constraints.

TCP encapsulation of IKE and IPsec messages (RFC 8229) is implemented
as a TCP ULP, overriding in particular the sendmsg and recvmsg
operations. A Stream Parser is used to extract messages out of the TCP
stream using the first 2 bytes as length marker. Received IKE messages
are put on "ike_queue", waiting to be dequeued by the custom recvmsg
implementation. Received ESP messages are sent to XFRM, like with UDP
encapsulation.
Some of this code is taken from the original submission by Herbert
Xu. Currently, only IPv4 is supported, like for UDP encapsulation.

This will be used by TCP encapsulation to write packets to the encap
socket without holding the user socket's lock. Without this reinjection,
we're already holding the lock of the user socket, and then try to lock
the encap socket as well when we enqueue the encrypted packet.
While at it, add a BUILD_BUG_ON like we usually do for skb->cb, since
it's missing for struct xfrm_trans_cb.
