Phil Elwell 75a41ce46b usb: dwc2: Fix gadget DMA unmap direction
The dwc2 gadget support maps and unmaps DMA buffers as necessary. When
mapping and unmapping it uses the direction of the endpoint to select
the direction of the DMA transfer, but this fails for Control OUT
transfers because the unmap occurs after the endpoint direction has
been reversed for the status phase.

A possible solution would be to unmap the buffer before the direction
is changed, but a safer, less invasive fix is to remember the buffer
direction independently of the endpoint direction.

Artur Petrosyan 0fdf3c5e06 usb: dwc2: Get rid of useless error checks in suspend interrupt
Squashed from Douglas Anderson's suggested commit
"usb: dwc2: Get rid of useless error checks for
hibernation/partial power down"

 - After this commit there should never be any
case where dwc2_enter_partial_power_down() and
dwc2_enter_hibernation() are called when
'params.power_down' is not correct. Get rid of
the pile of error checking.

- As part of this cleanup some of the error messages
not to have __func__ in them. That's not needed
for dev_err() calls since they already have the
device name as part of the message.

Artur Petrosyan 0112b7ce68 usb: dwc2: Update dwc2_handle_usb_suspend_intr function.
To avoid working in two modes (partial power down
and hibernation) changed conditions for entering
partial power down or hibernation.

Instead of checking hw_params.power_optimized and
hw_params.hibernation now checking power_down
param which already set to one of the options
(Hibernation or Partial Power Down) based on
OTG_EN_PWROPT.

Artur Petrosyan a94f01814b usb: dwc2: Add exit hibernation mode before removing drive
When dwc2 core is in hibernation mode loading
driver again causes driver fail. Because in
that mode registers are not accessible.

In order to exit from hibernation checking
dwc2 core power saving state in "dwc2_driver_remove()"
function. If core is in hibernation, then checking the
operational mode of the driver. To check whether dwc2 core
is operating in host mode or device mode there is one way
which is retrieving the backup value of "gotgctl" and compare
the "CurMod" value. If previously core entered hibernation
in host mode then the exit is performed for host if not then
exit is performed for device mode. The introduced checking
is because in hibernation state all registers are not
accessible.

When hibernation exit is performed the dwc2_hib_restore_common()

Switching from device mode to host mode by disconnecting
device cable core enters and exits form hibernation.
However, the fifo map remains not cleared. It results
to a WARNING (WARNING: CPU: 5 PID: 0 at drivers/usb/dwc2/
gadget.c:307 dwc2_hsotg_init_fifo+0x12/0x152 [dwc2])
if in host mode we disconnect the micro a to b host
cable. Because core reset occurs.

To avoid the WARNING, fifo_map should be cleared
in dwc2_core_reset() function by taking into account configs.
fifo_map must be cleared only if driver is configured in
"CONFIG_USB_DWC2_PERIPHERAL" or "CONFIG_USB_DWC2_DUAL_ROLE"

- Added "static inline void dwc2_clear_fifo_map()" helper

Artur Petrosyan 24d209dba5 usb: dwc2: Fix hibernation between host and device modes.
When core is in hibernation in host mode and a device cable
was connected then driver exited from device hibernation.
However, registers saved for host mode and when exited from
device hibernation register restore would be done for device
register which was wrong because there was no device registers
stored to restore.

- Added dwc_handle_gpwrdn_disc_det() function which handles
  gpwrdn disconnect detect flow and exits hibernation

Artur Petrosyan 113f86d0c3 usb: dwc2: Update partial power down entering by system suspend
With current implementation the port power is being disabled,
which is not required by the programming guide. Also, if there
is a system which works only in "DWC2_POWER_DOWN_PARAM_NONE"
(clock gating) mode the current implementation does not set
Gate hclk bit in pcgctl register.

Rearranges and updates the implementation of entering to partial
power down power saving mode when PC is suspended to get
rid of many "if" statements and removes disabling of port power.

NOTE: Switch case statement is used for hibernation partial
power down and clock gating mode determination. In this patch
only Partial Power Down is implemented the Hibernation and
clock gating implementations are planned to be added.

Heiko Stuebner f670e9f9c8 usb: dwc2: Fix endpoint direction check in ep_from_windex
dwc2_hsotg_process_req_status uses ep_from_windex() to retrieve
the endpoint for the index provided in the wIndex request param.

In a test-case with a rndis gadget running and sending a malformed
packet to it like:
    dev.ctrl_transfer(
        0x82,      # bmRequestType
        0x00,       # bRequest
        0x0000,     # wValue
        0x0001,     # wIndex
        0x00       # wLength
    )
it is possible to cause a crash:

[  217.533022] dwc2 ff300000.usb: dwc2_hsotg_process_req_status: USB_REQ_GET_STATUS
[ 217.559003] Unable to handle kernel read from unreadable memory at virtual address 0000000000000088

[  218.368056]  dwc2_hsotg_complete_request+0x144/0x184

This happens because ep_from_windex wants to compare the endpoint
direction even if index_to_ep() didn't return an endpoint due to
the direction not matching.

The fix is easy insofar that the actual direction check is already
happening when calling index_to_ep() which will return NULL if there
is no endpoint for the targeted direction, so the offending check
can go away completely.

Guenter Roeck 1a9e38cabd usb: dwc2: Make "trimming xfer length" a debug message
With some USB network adapters, such as DM96xx, the following message
is seen for each maximum size receive packet.

dwc2 ff540000.usb: dwc2_update_urb_state(): trimming xfer length

This happens because the packet size requested by the driver is 1522
bytes, wMaxPacketSize is 64, the dwc2 driver configures the chip to
receive 24*64 = 1536 bytes, and the chip does indeed send more than
1522 bytes of data. Since the event does not indicate an error condition,
the message is just noise. Demote it to debug level.

Guenter Roeck f74b68c61c usb: dwc2: Abort transaction after errors with unknown reason
In some situations, the following error messages are reported.

dwc2 ff540000.usb: dwc2_hc_chhltd_intr_dma: Channel 1 - ChHltd set, but reason is unknown
dwc2 ff540000.usb: hcint 0x00000002, intsts 0x04000021

and then:

WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 0 at kernel/v4.19/drivers/usb/dwc2/hcd.c:2913
			dwc2_assign_and_init_hc+0x98c/0x990

The warning suggests that an odd buffer address is to be used for DMA.

After an error is observed, the receive buffer may be full
(urb->actual_length >= urb->length). However, the urb is still left in
the queue unless three errors were observed in a row. When it is queued
again, the dwc2 hcd code translates this into a 1-block transfer.
If urb->actual_length (ie the total expected receive length) is not
DMA-aligned, the buffer pointer programmed into the chip will be
unaligned. This results in the observed warning.

To solve the problem, abort input transactions after an error with
unknown cause if the entire packet was already received. This may be
a bit drastic, but we don't really know why the transfer was aborted
even though the entire packet was received. Aborting the transfer in
this situation is less risky than accepting a potentially corrupted
packet.

With this patch in place, the 'ChHltd set' and 'trimming xfer length'
messages are still observed, but there are no more transfer attempts
with odd buffer addresses.

- when setting GUSBCFG_FORCEDEVMODE, iddig input pin is overridden with 0.

avalid/bvalid/vbusvalid signals can be overridden respectively with:

In order to fix this, tie the regulator disabling to the teardown

CFI validates that all indirect calls go to a function with the same
exact function pointer prototype. In this case, dwc2_set_bcm_params
is the target, which has a parameter of type 'struct dwc2_hsotg *',
but it is being implicitly cast to have a parameter of type 'void *'
because that is the set_params function pointer prototype. Make the
function pointer protoype match the definitions so that there is no
more violation.

While fixing this also fix the double call to dwc2_lowlevel_hw_disable()
if dr_mode is set to USB_DR_MODE_PERIPHERAL. In such case low-level
hardware is already disabled before calling usb_add_gadget_udc(). That
function correctly preserves low-level hardware state, there is no need
for the second unconditional dwc2_lowlevel_hw_disable() call.

Commit ec1f9d9f01 ("usb: dwc2: gadget: parity fix in isochronous mode") moved
these checks to dwc2_hsotg_change_ep_iso_parity() back in 2015. The assigned

Fixes the following W=1 warning:

Gustavo A. R. Silva 6bc3f3979e USB: Replace zero-length array with flexible-array member
The current codebase makes use of the zero-length array language
extension to the C90 standard, but the preferred mechanism to declare
variable-length types such as these ones is a flexible array member[1][2],
introduced in C99:

struct foo {
        int stuff;
        struct boo array[];
};

By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure, which
will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from being
inadvertently introduced[3] to the codebase from now on.

Also, notice that, dynamic memory allocations won't be affected by
this change:

"Flexible array members have incomplete type, and so the sizeof operator
may not be applied. As a quirk of the original implementation of
zero-length arrays, sizeof evaluates to zero."[1]

This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle.

Lukas Wunner d8bc3bf8de usb: dwc2: Drop unlock/lock upon queueing a work item
The original dwc_otg driver used a DWC_WORKQ_SCHEDULE() wrapper to queue
work items. Because that wrapper acquired the driver's global spinlock,
an unlock/lock dance was necessary whenever a work item was queued up
while the global spinlock was already held.

The dwc2 driver dropped DWC_WORKQ_SCHEDULE() in favor of a direct call
to queue_work(), but retained the (now gratuitous) unlock/lock dance in
dwc2_handle_conn_id_status_change_intr().  Drop it.

		DPTXFIFO 9: Size 256, Start 0x00000123

so it seems that FIFO 9 is mirroring FIFO 1.

Fix the allocation by using the FIFO count instead of the endpoint count
when selecting a FIFO for an endpoint.

Alexandru M Stan 7b81376764 usb: dwc2: Fix NULL qh in dwc2_queue_transaction
When a usb device disconnects in a certain way, dwc2_queue_transaction
still gets called after dwc2_hcd_cleanup_channels.

dwc2_hcd_cleanup_channels does "channel->qh = NULL;" but
dwc2_queue_transaction still wants to dereference qh.
This adds a check for a null qh.

Stalling a Non-Isochronous OUT Endpoint flow changed according
programming guide.
In dwc2_hsotg_ep_sethalt() function for OUT EP should not be set STALL bit.
Instead should set SGOUTNAK in DCTL register. Set STALL bit should be
set only after GOUTNAKEFF interrupt asserted.

Greg Kroah-Hartman 7170d1a4cc USB: changes for v5.5
We have TI's glue layer for the Cadence USB3 controller going
 upstream. Tegra's XUDC driver is also going upstream with this pull
 request.

 Apart from these two big features, we have a bunch of patches switching
 over to devm_platform_ioremap_resource() in order to simplify code a
 little; and a non-critical fix for DWC3 usage via kexec.
