Current mask 0xff to SCTFDR/RFDR damages SCIFB, because the
registers on SCIFB have 9-bit data (0 to 256).
This patch changes the mask according to port->fifosize.
Though I'm not sure if the mask is really needed (I don't know if
there are variants which have non-zero upper bits), it is safer.

Support prescaler 1/16 and 1/64, in addition to current 1 and 1/4.
Supporting below 2400bps was dropped long time ago in mainline.
Since then, setting lower rate has been resulting in erroneous
register value, without indicating any errors through API.
This patch adds more prescaler to support lower rates again.
This still doesn't check range, but we won't hit the case because
even 50bps at 48MHz clock is now supported.

The commit 1ba7622094 (serial: sh-sci: console Runtime PM support,
from Magnus Damm <damm@opensource.se>, 2011-08-03), tried to support
console runtime PM, but unfortunately it didn't work for us for some
reason. We did not investigated further at that time, instead would
like to propose a different approach.
In Linux tty/serial world, to get console PM work properly, a serial
client driver does not have to maintain .runtime_suspend()/..resume()
calls itself, but can leave console power power management handling to
the serial core driver.
This patch moves the sh-sci driver in that direction.
Notes:
* There is room to optimize console runtime PM more aggressively by
maintaining additional local runtime PM calls, but as a first step
having .pm() operation would suffice.
* We still have a couple of direct calls to sci_port_enable/..disable
left in the driver. We have to live with them, because they're out
of serial core's help.

This partially reverts commit 1ba7622094 (serial: sh-sci: console
Runtime PM support, from Magnus Damm <damm@opensource.se>, 2011-08-03).
The generic 'serial_core' can take care of console PM maintenance,
so all (or at least the first thing) we have to do to get console PM
work properly, is to implement uart_ops ->pm() operation in the sh-sci
serial client driver.
This patch partially reverts the commit above, but leaving sci_reset()
change in place, because sci_reset() is already part of another commit

After commit "TTY: move tty buffers to tty_port", the tty buffers are
not freed in some drivers. This is because tty_port_destructor is not
called whenever a tty_port is freed. This was an assumption I counted
with but was unfortunately untrue. So fix the drivers to fulfil this
assumption.
To be sure, the TTY buffers (and later some stuff) are gone along with
the tty_port, we have to call tty_port_destroy at tear-down places.
This is mostly where the structure containing a tty_port is freed.
This patch does exactly that -- put tty_port_destroy at those places.

When the UART device has hardware flow control enabled, it ignores the
MCR RTS bit in the MCR register, and keeps RTS asserted as long as we
continue to read characters from the UART receiver FIFO. This means
that when the TTY buffers become full, the UART doesn't tell the remote
end to stop sending, which causes the TTY layer to start dropping
characters.
A similar problem exists with software flow control. We need the FIFO
register to fill when software flow control is enabled to provoke the
UART to send the XOFF character.
Fix this by implementing the throttle/unthrottle callbacks, and use
these to disable receiver interrupts. This in turn means that the UART
FIFO will fill, which will then cause the UART's hardware to deassert
the RTS signal and/or send the XOFF character, stopping the remote end.

There's really no reason to read back these registers while setting
the termios modes, provided we keep our cached copies up to date.
Remove these readbacks.
This has the benefit that we know that the EFR_ECB and MCR_TCRTLR
bits will always be clear, so we don't need to keep masking these
bits throughout the code.

The MCR TCRTLR bit can only be changed when ECB is set in the EFR.
Unfortunately, several places were trying to alter this bit while ECB
was clear:
- serial_omap_configure_xonxoff() was attempting to clear the bit after
explicitly clearing the ECB bit.
- serial_omap_set_termios() was trying the same trick after setting the
SCR, and when trying to change the TCR register when hardware flow
control was enabled.
Fix this by ensuring that we always have ECB set whenever the TCRTLR bit
is changed.
Moreover, we start out by reading the EFR and MCR registers, which may
have indeterminent bit settings for the ECB and TCRTLR bits. Ensure
that these bits always start off in a known state.
In order to avoid any undesired behaviour appearing through fixing this,
we also ensure that hardware assisted flow control is disabled while new
driver specific parts are not in place.

There's no need to re-read EFR after we've recently written it; the
register is a configuration register which doesn't change its value
without us writing to it. The last value which was written to this
register was up->efr.
Removing this re-reading avoids the possibility that we end up with
up->efr having unintended bits set, which should only be temporarily
set when accessing the enhanced features.

This patch is to implement following 2 places to avoid potential error when IFX6x60 port shutdown:
1) Clear Flag IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_AVAILABLE to disable data transfer when Modem port is shutdown;
2) Clear Flag IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_IN_PROGRESS and IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_READY when reopen port.
This is because last port shutdown may happen when SPI/DMA transfer is in progress, if the last
data transfer is not completed(for example due to modem reset), the Flag IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_IN_PROGRESS
will be set forever, so when IFX port is activated again, IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_IN_PROGRESS will prevent
transferring data forever. And if don't clear IFX_SPI_STATE_IO_READY, it may cause one more SPI frame
transferring in spit there is not data need to be transfer.

vt8500_port is malloced in vt8500_serial_probe() and should be freed
before leaving from the error handling cases, otherwise it will
cause memory leak.
Fix it by move the allocation of vt8500_port after those test.

Modify divisor to select the nearest baud rate divider rather than the
lowest. It minimizes baud rate errors especially on low UART clock
frequencies.
For example, if uartclk is 33000000 and baud is 115200 the ratio is
about 17.9 The current code selects 17 (5% error) but should select 18
(0.5% error).
This 5% error in baud rate leads to garbage on receiving end, while 0.5%
doesn't.
The issue showed up when using the stock 8250 driver for
Synopsys DW UART. This was on a FPGA with ~12MHz UART clock.
When we enabled early serial, we saw garbage which was narrowed down
to the rounding error.
So the bug had been latent and it only showed up with such low clock rates.

It is a common enough mistake for people to specify "kdb" when they
meant to type "kbd" that the kgdboc can just accept both since they
both mean the same thing anyway. Specifically it is for the case
where you want kdb to be active on your graphics console + keyboard
(where kbd was the original abbreviation for keyboard).
With this change kgdboc will now accept either to mean the same thing:

Pull workqueue changes from Tejun Heo:
"This is workqueue updates for v3.7-rc1. A lot of activities this
round including considerable API and behavior cleanups.
* delayed_work combines a timer and a work item. The handling of the
timer part has always been a bit clunky leading to confusing
cancelation API with weird corner-case behaviors. delayed_work is
updated to use new IRQ safe timer and cancelation now works as
expected.
* Another deficiency of delayed_work was lack of the counterpart of
mod_timer() which led to cancel+queue combinations or open-coded
timer+work usages. mod_delayed_work[_on]() are added.
These two delayed_work changes make delayed_work provide interface
and behave like timer which is executed with process context.
* A work item could be executed concurrently on multiple CPUs, which
is rather unintuitive and made flush_work() behavior confusing and
half-broken under certain circumstances. This problem doesn't
exist for non-reentrant workqueues. While non-reentrancy check
isn't free, the overhead is incurred only when a work item bounces
across different CPUs and even in simulated pathological scenario
the overhead isn't too high.
All workqueues are made non-reentrant. This removes the
distinction between flush_[delayed_]work() and
flush_[delayed_]_work_sync(). The former is now as strong as the
latter and the specified work item is guaranteed to have finished
execution of any previous queueing on return.
* In addition to the various bug fixes, Lai redid and simplified CPU
hotplug handling significantly.
* Joonsoo introduced system_highpri_wq and used it during CPU
hotplug.
There are two merge commits - one to pull in IRQ safe timer from
tip/timers/core and the other to pull in CPU hotplug fixes from
wq/for-3.6-fixes as Lai's hotplug restructuring depended on them."
Fixed a number of trivial conflicts, but the more interesting conflicts
were silent ones where the deprecated interfaces had been used by new
code in the merge window, and thus didn't cause any real data conflicts.
Tejun pointed out a few of them, I fixed a couple more.

This is a pretty significant branch. It's the introduction of the
first multiplatform support on ARM, and with this (and the later
branch) merged, it is now possible to build one kernel that contains
support for highbank, vexpress, mvebu, socfpga, and picoxcell. More
platforms will be convered over in the next few releases.
Two critical last things had to be done for this to be practical and
possible:
* Today each platform has its own include directory under
mach-<mach>/include/mach/*, and traditionally that is where a lot of
driver/platform shared definitions have gone, such as platform data
structures. They now need to move out to a common location instead,
and this branch moves a large number of those out to
include/linux/platform_data.
* Each platform used to list the device trees to compile for its
boards in mach-<mach>/Makefile.boot.
Both of the above changes will mean that there are some merge
conflicts to come (and some to resolve here). It's a one-time move and
once it settles in, we should be good for quite a while. Sorry for the
overhead.

This special driver makes it possible to temporary use NMI debugger port
as a normal console by issuing 'nmi_console' command (assuming that the
port is attached to KGDB).
Unlike KDB's disable_nmi command, with this driver you are always able
to go back to the debugger using KGDB escape sequence ($3#33). This is
because this console driver processes the input in NMI context, and thus
is able to intercept the magic sequence.
Note that since the console interprets input and uses polling
communication methods, for things like PPP it is still better to fully
detach debugger port from the KGDB NMI (i.e. disable_nmi), and use raw
console.
Usually, to enter the debugger one have to type the magic sequence, so
initially the kernel will print the following prompt on the NMI debugger
console:
Type $3#33 to enter the debugger>
For convenience, there is a kgdb_fiq.knock kernel command line option,
when set to 0, this turns the special command to just a return key
press, so the kernel will be printing this:
Hit <return> to enter the debugger>
This is more convenient for long debugging sessions, although it makes
nmi_console feature somewhat useless.
And for the cases when NMI connected to a dedicated button, the knocking
can be disabled altogether by setting kgdb_fiq.knock to -1.

We need to quiesce interrupts in the poll_get_char routine, otherwise,
if used with KGDB NMI debugger, we'll keep reentering the NMI.
Quiescing interrupts is pretty straightforward, except for TXIM
interrupt. The interrupt has "ready to transmit" meaning, so it's
almost always raised, and the only way to silence it is to mask it. But
that's OK, ops->start_tx will unmask it.

The callback is used to initialize the hardware, nothing else should be
done, i.e. we should not request interrupts (but we can and do unmask
some of them, as they might be useful for NMI entry).
As a side-effect, the patch also fixes a division by zero[1] when booting
with kgdboc options specified (e.g. kgdboc=ttyAMA0,115200n8). The issue
happens because serial core calls set_termios callback, but the driver
doesn't know clock frequency, and thus cannot calculate proper baud rate
values.

It was noticed that polling drivers (like KGDB) are not able to use
serial ports if the ports were not previously initialized via console.
I.e. when booting with console=ttyAMA0 kgdboc=ttyAMA0, everything works
fine, but with console=ttyFOO kgdboc=ttyAMA0, the kgdboc doesn't work.
This is because we don't initialize the hardware. Calling ->startup() is
not an option, because drivers request interrupts there, and drivers
fail to handle situations when tty isn't opened with interrupts enabled.
So, we have to implement a new callback (actually, tty_ops already have
a similar callback), which does everything needed to initialize just the
hardware.

This works around a few glitches in the ST version of the PL011
serial driver when using very high baud rates, as we do in the
Ux500: 3, 3.25, 4 and 4.05 Mbps.
Problem Observed/rootcause:
When using high baud-rates, and the baudrate*8 is getting close to
the provided clock frequency (so a division factor close to 1), when
using bursts of characters (so they are abutted), then it seems as if
there is not enough time to detect the beginning of the start-bit which
is a timing reference for the entire character, and thus the sampling
moment of character bits is moving towards the end of each bit, instead
of the middle.
Fix:
Increase slightly the RX baud rate of the UART above the theoretical
baudrate by 5%. This will definitely give more margin time to the
UART_RX to correctly sample the data at the middle of the bit period.
Also fix the ages old copy-paste error in the very stressed comment,
it's referencing the registers used in the PL010 driver rather than
the PL011 ones.

MAXIDL is the timeout after which a receive buffer is closed when not full if
no more characters are received. We calculate it from the baudrate so that the
duration is always the same at standard rates: about 4ms. At 9600 bauds it gives
a timeout of 4 characters, which is the timeout on the 8250 UART.

Setting the fifo to only 1 byte generates one interrupt every 1ms at 9600 bauds.

From "Uwe Kleine-König" <u.kleine-koenig@pengutronix.de>:
this is the 2nd version of this series whose goal is to make struct
of_device_id.data const. Conceptually a driver must not modify the data
contained there so making it const is the right thing.
v1 of this series was sent with Message-id:
1342182734-321-1-git-send-email-y. Changes since then are:
- powerpc fixes
- several new consts that were found by Arnd that are possible after
patch 19.
Arnd suggested to take this series via arm-soc late for 3.6 in one go
because patch 19 depends on the former patches but is a precondition to
the latter and it fixes a few warnings. So getting it in via the
respective maintainer trees would need a much bigger coordination
effort. That means I prefer getting Acks over you taking the patch.
Vinod Koul already took
dmaengine: at_hdmac: add a few const qualifiers
that is in next-20120723 as 7fd63ccdad now. Vinod, I don't follow your
pull requests, but assuming you didn't let it already pull for 3.6 I
suggest you drop it from your queue and I just take your Ack.
This series was build tested for arm (all defconfigs) and powerpc (all
defconfigs and an allyesconfig) and grep didn't find more issues. As
before it introduces a warning in drivers/regulator/twl-regulator.c.
This driver does modify its .of_match_table when a device is bound which
doesn't fits the concept of independant devices. Arnd noticed another
new warning in drivers/scsi/qlogicpti.c that isn't that easy to resolve,
because the pointer to (now) const data is passed as first argument to
scsi_host_alloc. To fix that properly struct Scsi_Host.hostt needs to
get a const, too. Alternatively I could introduce a cast removing the
const, but I don't like that.

The problem is that those function pointers,
