Roopa Prabhu 4f80116d3d net: ipv4: add sysctl for nexthop api compatibility mode
Current route nexthop API maintains user space compatibility
with old route API by default. Dumps and netlink notifications
support both new and old API format. In systems which have
moved to the new API, this compatibility mode cancels some
of the performance benefits provided by the new nexthop API.

This patch adds new sysctl nexthop_compat_mode which is on
by default but provides the ability to turn off compatibility
mode allowing systems to run entirely with the new routing
API. Old route API behaviour and support is not modified by this
sysctl.

Uses a single sysctl to cover both ipv4 and ipv6 following
other sysctls. Covers dumps and delete notifications as
suggested by David Ahern.

Michal Kubecek 5b071c59ed ethtool: provide timestamping information with TSINFO_GET request
Implement TSINFO_GET request to get timestamping information for a network
device. This is traditionally available via ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO ioctl
request.

Move part of ethtool_get_ts_info() into common.c so that ioctl and netlink
code use the same logic to get timestamping information from the device.

Jacob Keller b9a17abfde devlink: implement DEVLINK_CMD_REGION_NEW
Implement support for the DEVLINK_CMD_REGION_NEW command for creating
snapshots. This new command parallels the existing
DEVLINK_CMD_REGION_DEL.

In order for DEVLINK_CMD_REGION_NEW to work for a region, the new
".snapshot" operation must be implemented in the region's ops structure.

The desired snapshot id must be provided. This helps avoid confusion on
the purpose of DEVLINK_CMD_REGION_NEW, and keeps the API simpler.

The requested id will be inserted into the xarray tracking the number of
snapshots using each id. If this id is already used by another snapshot
on any region, an error will be returned.

Jacob Keller ff2e5c700e ice: add basic handler for devlink .info_get
The devlink .info_get callback allows the driver to report detailed
version information. The following devlink versions are reported with
this initial implementation:

"fw.mgmt" -> The version of the firmware that controls PHY, link, etc
"fw.mgmt.api" -> API version of interface exposed over the AdminQ
"fw.mgmt.build" -> Unique build id of the source for the management fw
"fw.undi" -> Version of the Option ROM containing the UEFI driver
"fw.psid.api" -> Version of the NVM image format.
"fw.bundle_id" -> Unique identifier for the combined flash image.
"fw.app.name" -> The name of the active DDP package.
"fw.app" -> The version of the active DDP package.

With this, devlink dev info can report at least as much information as
is reported by ETHTOOL_GDRVINFO.

Mauro Carvalho Chehab c44166fe5f docs: prevent warnings due to autosectionlabel
Changeset 58ad30cf91 ("docs: fix reference to core-api/namespaces.rst")
enabled a new feature at Sphinx: it will now generate index for each
document title, plus to each chapter inside it.

There's a drawback, though: one document cannot have two sections
with the same name anymore.

A followup patch will change the logic of autosectionlabel to
avoid most creating references for every single section title,
but still we need to be able to reference the chapters inside
a document.

There are a few places where there are two chapters with the
same name. This patch renames one of the chapters, in order to
avoid symbol conflict within the same document.

PS.: as I don't speach Chinese, I had some help from a friend
(Wen Liu) at the Chinese translation for "publishing patches"

of a new bpf_link abstraction to keep in particular BPF tracing programs
attached even when the applicaion owning them exits, from Andrii Nakryiko.

6) New bpf_get_current_pid_tgid() helper for tracing to perform PID filtering
and which returns the PID as seen by the init namespace, from Carlos Neira.

7) Refactor of RISC-V JIT code to move out common pieces and addition of a
new RV32G BPF JIT compiler, from Luke Nelson.

8) Add gso_size context member to __sk_buff in order to be able to know whether

Kuniyuki Iwashima 4b01a96742 tcp: bind(0) remove the SO_REUSEADDR restriction when ephemeral ports are exhausted.
Commit aacd9289af ("tcp: bind() use stronger
condition for bind_conflict") introduced a restriction to forbid to bind
SO_REUSEADDR enabled sockets to the same (addr, port) tuple in order to
assign ports dispersedly so that we can connect to the same remote host.

The change results in accelerating port depletion so that we fail to bind
sockets to the same local port even if we want to connect to the different
remote hosts.

You can reproduce this issue by following instructions below.

  1. # sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_local_port_range="32768 32768"
  2. set SO_REUSEADDR to two sockets.
  3. bind two sockets to (localhost, 0) and the latter fails.

Therefore, when ephemeral ports are exhausted, bind(0) should fallback to
the legacy behaviour to enable the SO_REUSEADDR option and make it possible
to connect to different remote (addr, port) tuples.

This patch allows us to bind SO_REUSEADDR enabled sockets to the same
(addr, port) only when net.ipv4.ip_autobind_reuse is set 1 and all
ephemeral ports are exhausted. This also allows connect() and listen() to
share ports in the following way and may break some applications. So the
ip_autobind_reuse is 0 by default and disables the feature.

  1. setsockopt(sk1, SO_REUSEADDR)
  2. setsockopt(sk2, SO_REUSEADDR)
  3. bind(sk1, saddr, 0)
  4. bind(sk2, saddr, 0)
  5. connect(sk1, daddr)
  6. listen(sk2)

If it is set 1, we can fully utilize the 4-tuples, but we should use
IP_BIND_ADDRESS_NO_PORT for bind()+connect() as possible.

The notable thing is that if all sockets bound to the same port have
both SO_REUSEADDR and SO_REUSEPORT enabled, we can bind sockets to an
ephemeral port and also do listen().

Jacob Keller 707518348a devlink: remove trigger command from devlink-region.rst
The devlink trigger command does not exist. While rewriting the
documentation for devlink into the reStructuredText format,
documentation for the trigger command was accidentally merged in. This
occurred because the author was also working on a potential extension to
devlink regions which included this trigger command, and accidentally
squashed the documentation incorrectly.

Further review eventually settled on using the previously unused "new"
command instead of creating a new trigger command.

Fix this by removing mention of the trigger command from the
documentation.

MPLS has 2 ethertypes. 0x8847 for MPLS unicast and 0x8848 for MPLS multicast.
While decapsulating MPLS packet from UDP packet the tunnel destination IP

will be set to 0x8848 if the tunnel destination IP address is a multicast
IP address. The ethertype of the packet will be set to 0x8847 if the
tunnel destination IP address is a unicast IP address.

IP has 2 ethertypes.0x0800 for IPV4 and 0x86dd for IPv6. The version
field of the IP header tunnelled will be checked to determine the ethertype.

This special handling to tunnel additional ethertypes will be disabled
by default and can be enabled using a flag called multiproto. This flag can
be used only with ethertypes 0x8847 and 0x0800.

Jacob Keller 6c39e015f8 devlink: convert driver-specific files to reStructuredText
Several drivers document what parameters they support in
a devlink-params-*.txt file. This file is supposed to contain both the
list of generic parameters implemented by the driver, as well as a list
of driver-specific parameters and their descriptions.

It would also be good if the driver documentation included other
driver-specific implementations, such as info versions, devlink
regions, and so forth.

Convert all of these documentation files to reStructuredText, and rename
them to just the driver name. Future changes will include other
driver-specific implementations. Each file will contain a table for the
generic parameters implemented, as well as a separate table for the
driver-specific parameters.

Future sections such as for devlink info versions will be added to these
files. This avoids creating additional devlink-<feature>-<driver> files
for each devlink feature, reducing clutter in the documentation folder.

Vladimir Oltean 1511ed0a01 net: phylink: add support for polling MAC PCS
Some MAC PCS blocks are unable to provide interrupts when their status
changes. As we already have support in phylink for polling status, use
this to provide a hook for MACs to enable polling mode.

The patch idea was picked up from Russell King's suggestion on the macb
phylink patch thread here [0] but the implementation was changed.
Instead of introducing a new phylink_start_poll() function, which would
make the implementation cumbersome for common PHYLINK implementations
for multiple types of devices, like DSA, just add a boolean property to
the phylink_config structure, which is just as backwards-compatible.
