Nicholas Piggin 9a018fb1e1 powerpc/config: powernv_defconfig updates
For consideration:

* Add NVDIMM support - Enables greater testing, mambo device.
* Add IPv6 support built in + additional modules - Because it's 2018 maan.
* Add DEFERRED_STRUCT_PAGE_INIT - Let's see what breaks.
* Add PPC_MEMTRACE - Small powernv debugfs driver for getting hardware traces.
* Add MEMORY_FAILURE - Machine check exceptions can now drive memory failure.
* Turn on FANOTIFY - This is the current filesystem notification feature.
* Turn on SCOM_DEBUGFS - Handy for hardware/firmware debugging, security risk?
* Turn on async SCSI scanning - Let's see what breaks.
* Add MLX5 driver as a module - Popular demand.
* Add CRYPTO_CRCT10DIF_VPMSUM - POWER8 T10DIF acceleration.

* Make a bunch of USB hid drivers modules.
* Make SCSI SG, SR, and FC modules - FC is huge.
* Make video drivers except AST GPU modules - Also huge.
* Make PCI serial driver a module - Uncommon.
* Make more things modules, NFS FS, RAM disk, netconsole, MS-DOS fs.

* Get rid of /dev/port - Not used.
* Remove PPS and PTP subsystms - Unusual.
* Remove legacy BSD ttys - Long dead.
* Remove IDE - Deprecated and replaced with ATA.
* Remove WIRELESS - Until we get POWER9 laptops.
* Remove RAW - Long deprecated in favour of direct IO.
* Remove floppy, parport, and PS2 input devices - not supported.
* Remove virtio drivers, ballooning - We're host only.
* Remove PPP - Sorry Paulus.

This results in a significantly smaller vmlinux:

Jonathan Neuschäfer c4c19684fa powerpc: wii_defconfig: Disable BCMA support
The B43 driver only needs CONFIG_SSB to support the WLAN card found in
the Wii. Configure it accordingly, and disable BCMA bus support to save
a bit of space.

Jonathan Neuschäfer a84813f5bf powerpc: wii_defconfig: Disable Ethernet driver support code
The Wii doesn't have built-in Ethernet and USB Ethernet adapters are in
a different menu. Disable CONFIG_ETHERNET to save some space in support
code for Ethernet drivers.

Note that this patch doesn't disable any Ethernet drivers, because they
are not enabled by default.

Paul Gortmaker 3bc6cf5a86 powerpc: remove retired sbc834x support
I no longer have a functional version of this board for even the most
basic sanity boot testing, and they have not been available for purchase
for quite some years now.

There is no point in adding a burden to testing coverage that does
walk all the possible defconfigs, so with all the above in mind, it
makes sense to remove it. Of course it will remain in the git history
for anyone who happens to stumble on one and wants to tinker with it.

Linus Torvalds 03f51d4efa powerpc updates for 4.16
Highlights:

  - Enable support for memory protection keys aka "pkeys" on Power7/8/9 when
    using the hash table MMU.

  - Extend our interrupt soft masking to support masking PMU interrupts as well
as "normal" interrupts, and then use that to implement local_t for a ~4x
speedup vs the current atomics-based implementation.

  - A new driver "ocxl" for "Open Coherent Accelerator Processor Interface
    (OpenCAPI)" devices.

  - Support for new device tree properties on PowerVM to describe hotpluggable
    memory and devices.

  - Add support for CLOCK_{REALTIME/MONOTONIC}_COARSE to the 64-bit VDSO.

  - Freescale updates from Scott:
"Contains fixes for CPM GPIO and an FSL PCI erratum workaround, plus a
       minor cleanup patch."

As well as quite a lot of other changes all over the place, and small fixes and
 cleanups as always.

Linus Torvalds 47fcc0360c Driver Core updates for 4.16-rc1
Here is the set of "big" driver core patches for 4.16-rc1.

The majority of the work here is in the firmware subsystem, with reworks
to try to attempt to make the code easier to handle in the long run, but
no functional change. There's also some tree-wide sysfs attribute
fixups with lots of acks from the various subsystem maintainers, as well
as a handful of other normal fixes and changes.

And finally, some license cleanups for the driver core and sysfs code.

All have been in linux-next for a while with no reported issues.

Michael Ellerman 7310d5c8c5 powerpc/configs: Re-enable HARD/SOFT lockup detectors
In commit 05a4a95279 ("kernel/watchdog: split up config options"),
CONFIG_LOCKUP_DETECTOR was split into two separate config options,
CONFIG_HARDLOCKUP_DETECTOR and CONFIG_SOFTLOCKUP_DETECTOR.

Our defconfigs still have CONFIG_LOCKUP_DETECTOR=y, but that is no longer
user selectable, and we don't mention the new options, so we end up with
none of them enabled.

So update the defconfigs to turn on the new SOFT and HARD options, the
end result being the same as what we had previously.

Linus Torvalds 7246f60068 powerpc updates for 4.12 part 1.
Highlights include:

  - Larger virtual address space on 64-bit server CPUs. By default we use a 128TB
virtual address space, but a process can request access to the full 512TB by
    passing a hint to mmap().

  - Support for the new Power9 "XIVE" interrupt controller.

  - TLB flushing optimisations for the radix MMU on Power9.

  - Support for CAPI cards on Power9, using the "Coherent Accelerator Interface
    Architecture 2.0".

  - The ability to configure the mmap randomisation limits at build and runtime.

  - Several small fixes and cleanups to the kprobes code, as well as support for
    KPROBES_ON_FTRACE.

  - Major improvements to handling of system reset interrupts, correctly treating
them as NMIs, giving them a dedicated stack and using a new hypervisor call
to trigger them, all of which should aid debugging and robustness.

Many fixes and other minor enhancements.

Anton Blanchard 4ce410d65a powerpc/configs: Re-enable ISO9660_FS as a built-in in 64 bit configs
It turns out cloud-config uses ISO9660 filesystems to inject
configuration data into cloud images. The cloud-config failures when
ISO9660_FS is not enabled are cryptic, and building it in makes
mainline testing easier, so re-enable it.

Nathan Fontenot 943db62c31 powerpc/pseries: Revert 'Auto-online hotplugged memory'
This reverts commit ec99907244 ("powerpc/pseries: Auto-online
hotplugged memory"), and 9dc512819e ("powerpc: Fix unused function
warning 'lmb_to_memblock'").

Using the auto-online acpability does online added memory but does not
update the associated device struct to indicate that the memory is
online. This causes the pseries memory DLPAR code to fail when trying to
remove a LMB that was previously removed and added back. This happens
when validating that the LMB is removable.

This patch reverts to the previous behavior of calling device_online()
to online the LMB when it is DLPAR added and moves the lmb_to_memblock()
routine out of CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTREMOVE now that we call it for add.

Fixes: ec99907244 ("powerpc/pseries: Auto-online hotplugged memory")

Viresh Kumar 801e0f378f cpufreq: Remove CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_STAT_DETAILS config option
This doesn't have any benefit apart from saving a small amount of memory

Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz 1aed61f9c9 powerpc: convert storcenter_defconfig to use libata PATA drivers
IDE subsystem has been deprecated since 2009 and the majority
(if not all) of Linux distributions have switched to use
libata for ATA support exclusively. However there are still
some users (mostly old or/and embedded non-x86 systems) that
have not converted from using IDE subsystem to libata PATA
drivers. This doesn't seem to be good thing in the long-term
for Linux as while there is less and less PATA systems left
in use:

* testing efforts are divided between two subsystems

* having duplicate drivers for same hardware confuses users

This patch converts storcenter_defconfig to use libata PATA
drivers.

Nathan Fontenot ec99907244 powerpc/pseries: Auto-online hotplugged memory
A recent update (commit id 31bc3858ea) allows for automatically
onlining memory that is added. This patch sets the config option
CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT_ONLINE=y for pseries and updates the
pseries memory hotplug code so that DLPAR added memory can be
automatically onlined instead of explicitly onlining the memory.

Alessio Igor Bogani 97493e2e9e powerpc/86xx: Add support for Emerson/Artesyn MVME7100
Add support for the Artesyn MVME7100 Single Board Computer.

The MVME7100 is a 6U form factor VME64 computer with:

    - A two e600 cores Freescale MPC8641D CPU
    - 2 GB of DDR2 onboard memory
    - Four Gigabit Ethernets
    - Five 16550 compatible UARTs
    - One USB 2.0 port
    - Two PCI/PCI eXpress Mezzanine Card (PMC/XMC) Slots
    - A DS1375 Real Time Clock (RTC)
    - 512 KB of Non-Volatile Memory (NVRAM)
    - Two 64 KB EEPROMs
    - 128 MB NOR and 4/8 GB NAND Flash

This patch is based on linux-4.7-rc1 and has been only boot tested.

Limitations:
This patch covers only models 171 and 173
No plans to support CPLD timers

Know issues:
All four PHYs work in polling mode

Configuration is missing for:
PCI IDSEL and PCI Interrupt definition

Support is missing for:
Cache and memory controllers (which are very similar to the 85xx ones
but right now I don't know if we can re-use their support)
Watchdog, USB, NVRAM, NOR, NAND, EEPROMs, VME, PMC/XMC and RTC

Suraj Jitindar Singh 43a1dd9b5f powerpc/powernv: Add driver for operator panel on FSP machines
Implement new character device driver to allow access from user space
to the operator panel display present on IBM Power Systems machines
with FSPs.

This will allow status information to be presented on the display which
is visible to a user.

The driver implements a character buffer which a user can read/write
by accessing the device (/dev/op_panel). This buffer is then displayed on
the operator panel display. Any attempt to write past the last character
position will have no effect and attempts to write more characters than
the size of the display will be truncated. The device may only be accessed
by a single process at a time.

Michael Ellerman bed08b7e1f powerpc/cell: Drop CONFIG_TUNE_CELL in favour of CONFIG_CELL_CPU
The TUNE_CELL option allows you to build a kernel that runs on multiple
CPUs but is tuned (ie. optimised) to run on Cell CPUs. Now days no one
is building a distro in that fashion, and any users who are building
custom kernels for their Cell machines are better off building with
CONFIG_CELL_CPU, which builds a kernel that only runs on Cell and
therefore can be optimised even more aggresively.

Dropping the option also avoids confusing other users, who are presented
with an option to tune for Cell when they are not building for a Cell
CPU at all.

Michael Ellerman 6b98f2bec5 powerpc/configs: Re-enable CONFIG_SCSI_DH
Commit 086b91d052 ("scsi_dh: integrate into the core SCSI code")
changed CONFIG_SCSI_DH from tristate to bool.

Our defconfigs have CONFIG_SCSI_DH=m, which the kconfig machinery warns
us is invalid, but instead of converting it to =y it leaves it unset.
This means we loose the CONFIG_SCSI_DH code and everything that depends
on it.

So convert the values in the defconfigs to =y.

Vasant Hegde d690740f22 powerpc/powernv: Enable LEDS support
Commit 84ad6e5c added LEDS support for PowerNV platform. Lets
update ppc64_defconfig to pick LEDS driver.

PowerNV LEDS driver looks for "/ibm,opal/leds" node in device
tree and loads if this node exists. Hence added it as 'm'.

Also note that powernv LEDS driver needs NEW_LEDS and LEDS_CLASS
as well. Hence added them to config file.

mpe: Also add them to pseries_defconfig, which is currently also used
for powernv systems.

Vaibhav Jain e0ad784b65 powerpc/pseries: enable RTC class support
A working rtc kernel driver is needed so that hwclock can synchronize
system clock to rtc during shutdown/boot. We already have a powernv
platform rtc driver located at drivers/rtc/rtc-opal.c. However it depends
on CONFIG_RTC_CLASS which is disabled by default. Hence the driver isn't
enabled and not compiled for the powernv kernel.

We fix this by enabling rtc class support in pseries defconfig which
enables this driver and compiles it into the pseries kernel. In case
CONFIG_PPC_POWERNV is not enabled we fallback to 'Generic RTC support'
driver which emulates the legacy 'PC RTC driver'.

Scott Wood 44d5401425 powerpc/85xx: Use kconfig fragments
Unify mpc85xx and corenet configs using fragments, to ease maintenance
and avoid the sort of drift that the previous patch fixed.

Hardware and software options are separated, with the hope that other
embedded platforms could share the software options, and to make it
easier to maintain custom/alternate configs that focus on either
hardware or software options.

Due to the previous patch, this patch should not affect the results of
any of the affected defconfigs -- only how those results are achieved.
The resulting config is more or less the union of the options that any
of the configs previously selected. No attempt was made in this (or
the previous) patch to edit out questionable options, but this patch
will make it easier to do so in future patches.

Geert Uytterhoeven f1b3b4450d powerpc/85xx: Replace CONFIG_USB_ISP1760_HCD by CONFIG_USB_ISP1760
Since commit 100832abf0 ("usb: isp1760: Make HCD support
optional"), CONFIG_USB_ISP1760_HCD is automatically selected when
needed. Enabling that option in the defconfig is now a no-op, and no
longer enables ISP1760 HCD support.

Re-enable the ISP1760 driver in the defconfig by enabling
USB_ISP1760_HOST_ROLE instead.
