perf_pmus__has_hybrid was used to detect when there was >1 core PMU,
this can be achieved with perf_pmus__num_core_pmus that doesn't depend
upon is_pmu_hybrid and PMU name comparisons. When modifying the
function calls take the opportunity to improve comments,
enable/simplify tests that were previously failing for hybrid but now
pass and to simplify generic code.

It is possible to optimize metrics when all SMT threads (CPUs) on a
core are measuring events in system wide mode. For example, TMA
metrics defines CORE_CLKS for Sandybrdige as:
if SMT is disabled:
CPU_CLK_UNHALTED.THREAD
if SMT is enabled and recording on all SMT threads:
CPU_CLK_UNHALTED.THREAD_ANY / 2
if SMT is enabled and not recording on all SMT threads:
(CPU_CLK_UNHALTED.THREAD/2)*
(1+CPU_CLK_UNHALTED.ONE_THREAD_ACTIVE/CPU_CLK_UNHALTED.REF_XCLK )
That is two more events are necessary when not gathering counts on all
SMT threads. To distinguish all SMT threads on a core vs system wide
(all CPUs) call the new property core wide. Add a core wide test that
determines the property from user requested CPUs, the topology and
system wide. System wide is required as other processes running on a
SMT thread will change the counts.

Commit fdf1e29b61 ("perf expr: Add metric literals for topology.")
fails on s390:
# ./perf test -Fv 7
...
# FAILED tests/expr.c:173 #num_dies >= #num_packages
---- end ----
Simple expression parser: FAILED!
#
Investigating this issue leads to these functions:
build_cpu_topology()
+--> has_die_topology(void)
{
struct utsname uts;
if (uname(&uts) < 0)
return false;
if (strncmp(uts.machine, "x86_64", 6))
return false;
....
}
which always returns false on s390. The caller build_cpu_topology()
checks has_die_topology() return value. On false the
the struct cpu_topology::die_cpu_list is not contructed and has zero
entries. This leads to the failing comparison: #num_dies >= #num_packages.
s390 of course has a positive number of packages.
Fix this by adding s390 architecture to support CPU die list.
Output after:
# ./perf test -Fv 7
7: Simple expression parser :
--- start ---
division by zero
syntax error
---- end ----
Simple expression parser: Ok

A common problem is confusing CPU map indices with the CPU, by wrapping
the CPU with a struct then this is avoided. This approach is similar to
atomic_t.
Committer notes:
To make it build with BUILD_BPF_SKEL=1 these files needed the
conversions to 'struct perf_cpu' usage:
tools/perf/util/bpf_counter.c
tools/perf/util/bpf_counter_cgroup.c
tools/perf/util/bpf_ftrace.c
Also perf_env__get_cpu() was removed back in "perf cpumap: Switch
cpu_map__build_map to cpu function".
Additionally these needed to be fixed for the ARM builds to complete:
tools/perf/arch/arm/util/cs-etm.c
tools/perf/arch/arm64/util/pmu.c

It is useful to let the user know about the hybrid topology.
Add the HYBRID_TOPOLOGY feature in header to indicate the core CPUs
and the atom CPUs.
With this patch a perf.data generated on a hybrid platform reports
the hybrid CPU list:
root@otcpl-adl-s-2:~# perf report --header-only -I
...
# hybrid cpu system:
# cpu_core cpu list : 0-15
# cpu_atom cpu list : 16-23
For a perf.data generated on a non-hybrid platform, reports a message
that HYBRID_TOPOLOGY is missing:
root@kbl-ppc:~# perf report --header-only -I
...
# missing features: TRACING_DATA BRANCH_STACK GROUP_DESC AUXTRACE STAT CLOCKID DIR_FORMAT COMPRESSED CLOCK_DATA HYBRID_TOPOLOGY

The util/cpumap.h file doesn't use anything in refcount.h not in
debug.h, it needs just a forward reference to 'struct cpu_map_data',
that is defined in util/event.h and cpumap.h was getting indirectly via,
of all things, debug.h

In places where the equivalent was already being done, i.e.:
free(a);
a = NULL;
And in placs where struct members are being freed so that if we have
some erroneous reference to its struct, then accesses to freed members
will result in segfaults, which we can detect faster than use after free
to areas that may still have something seemingly valid.

The existing "thread_siblings" and "thread_siblings_list" attribute will
be deprecated.
Use the new CPU topology sysfs attributes, "core_cpus" and
"core_cpus_list", which are synonymous with the deprecated attributes.
Check the new name first. If not available, use the deprecated name to
be compatible with old kernel.

With the new CPUID.1F, a new level type of CPU topology, 'die', is
introduced. The 'die' information in CPU topology should be added in
perf header.
To be compatible with old perf.data, the patch checks the section size
before reading the die information. The new info is added at the end of
the cpu_topology section, the old perf tool ignores the extra data. It
never reads data crossing the section boundary.
The new perf tool with the patch can be used on legacy kernel. Add a new
function has_die_topology() to check if die topology information is
supported by kernel. The function only check X86 and CPU 0. Assuming
other CPUs have same topology.
Use similar method for core and socket to support die id and sibling
dies string.

Add the numa_topology object to return the list of numa nodes together
with their cpus. It will replace the numa code in header.c and will be
used from 'perf record' in the following patches.
Add the following interface functions to load numa details:
struct numa_topology *numa_topology__new(void);
void numa_topology__delete(struct numa_topology *tp);
