Properly handle tristate dependencies on USB/PCI menus As USB/PCI/MEDIA_SUPPORT dependencies can be tristate, we can't simply make the bool menu to be dependent on it. Everything below the menu should also depend on it, otherwise, we risk to allow building them with 'y', while only 'm' would be supported. Linux-2.6.12-rc2 Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!

[media] pci/Kconfig: don't use MEDIA_ANALOG_TV_SUPPORT for grabber cards I noticed certain cards are currently under MEDIA_ANALOG_TV_SUPPORT but it seems they are frame grabbers (with CVBS, Svideo etc. inputs) rather than TV receivers (with analog TV tuners). MEDIA_CAMERA_SUPPORT maybe isn't the best name (only "meye" driver seems to drive a real camera in a laptop) but it at least doesn't select the TUNERs. Perhaps the following patch would make sense. This hardware supports a few DMA modes, including scatter-gather and frame (contiguous). This commit makes little use of the DMA engine and instead has a memcpy based implementation. DMA frame and scatter-gather modes support may be added in the future. Currently supported chips: - TW6864 (4 video channels), - TW6865 (4 video channels, not tested, second generation chip), - TW6868 (8 video channels but only 4 first channels using built-in video decoder are supported, not tested), - TW6869 (8 video channels, second generation chip). [media] cobalt: add new driver The cobalt device is a PCIe card with 4 HDMI inputs (adv7604) and a connector that can be used to hook up an adv7511 transmitter or an adv7842 receiver daughterboard. This device is used within Cisco but is sadly not available outside of Cisco. Nevertheless it is a very interesting driver that can serve as an example of how to support HDMI hardware and how to use the popular adv devices. [media] pt3: add support for Earthsoft PT3 ISDB-S/T receiver card This patch adds support for PT3 PCIe cards. PT3 has an FPGA PCIe bridge chip, a TC90522 demod chip and a VA4M6JC2103 tuner module which contains two QM1D1C0042 chips for ISDB-S and two MxL301RF's for ISDB-T. It can receive and deliver 4 (2x ISDB-S, 2x ISDB-T) streams simultaneously, and a kthread is used per stream to poll incoming data, because PT3 does not have interrupts. As an antenna input for each delivery system is split in the tuner module and shared between the corresponding two tuner chips, LNB/LNA controls that the FPGA chip provides are (naturally) shared as well. The tuner chips also share the power line in the tuner module, which is controlled on/off by a GPIO pin of the demod chip. As with the demod chip and the ISDB-T tuner chip, the init sequences/register settings for those chips are not disclosed and stored in a private memory of the FPGA, PT3 driver executes the init of those chips on behalf of their drivers.
