net: Require exact match for TCP socket lookups if dif is l3mdev Currently, socket lookups for l3mdev (vrf) use cases can match a socket that is bound to a port but not a device (ie., a global socket). If the sysctl tcp_l3mdev_accept is not set this leads to ack packets going out based on the main table even though the packet came in from an L3 domain. The end result is that the connection does not establish creating confusion for users since the service is running and a socket shows in ss output. Fix by requiring an exact dif to sk_bound_dev_if match if the skb came through an interface enslaved to an l3mdev device and the tcp_l3mdev_accept is not set. skb's through an l3mdev interface are marked by setting a flag in inet{6}_skb_parm. The IPv6 variant is already set; this patch adds the flag for IPv4. Using an skb flag avoids a device lookup on the dif. The flag is set in the VRF driver using the IP{6}CB macros. For IPv4, the inet_skb_parm struct is moved in the cb per commit 971f10eca186, so the match function in the TCP stack needs to use TCP_SKB_CB. For IPv6, the move is done after the socket lookup, so IP6CB is used. The flags field in inet_skb_parm struct needs to be increased to add another flag. There is currently a 1-byte hole following the flags, so it can be expanded to u16 without increasing the size of the struct. hlist: drop the node parameter from iterators I'm not sure why, but the hlist for each entry iterators were conceived list_for_each_entry(pos, head, member) The hlist ones were greedy and wanted an extra parameter: hlist_for_each_entry(tpos, pos, head, member) Why did they need an extra pos parameter? The semantic patch which is mostly the work of Peter Senna Tschudin is here: @@ iterator name hlist_for_each_entry, hlist_for_each_entry_continue, hlist_for_each_entry_from, hlist_for_each_entry_rcu, hlist_for_each_entry_rcu_bh, hlist_for_each_entry_continue_rcu_bh, for_each_busy_worker, ax25_uid_for_each, ax25_for_each, inet_bind_bucket_for_each, sctp_for_each_hentry, sk_for_each, sk_for_each_rcu, sk_for_each_from, sk_for_each_safe, sk_for_each_bound, hlist_for_each_entry_safe, hlist_for_each_entry_continue_rcu, nr_neigh_for_each, nr_neigh_for_each_safe, nr_node_for_each, nr_node_for_each_safe, for_each_gfn_indirect_valid_sp, for_each_gfn_sp, for_each_host; type T; expression a,c,d,e; identifier b; statement S; @@ -T b; <+... when != b ( hlist_for_each_entry(a, - b, c, d) S | hlist_for_each_entry_continue(a, - b, c) S | hlist_for_each_entry_from(a, - b, c) S | hlist_for_each_entry_rcu(a, - b, c, d) S | hlist_for_each_entry_rcu_bh(a, - b, c, d) S | hlist_for_each_entry_continue_rcu_bh(a, - b, c) S | for_each_busy_worker(a, c, - b, d) S | ax25_uid_for_each(a, - b, c) S | ax25_for_each(a, - b, c) S | inet_bind_bucket_for_each(a, - b, c) S | sctp_for_each_hentry(a, - b, c) S | sk_for_each(a, - b, c) S | sk_for_each_rcu(a, - b, c) S | sk_for_each_from -(a, b) +(a) S + sk_for_each_from(a) S | sk_for_each_safe(a, - b, c, d) S | sk_for_each_bound(a, - b, c) S | hlist_for_each_entry_safe(a, - b, c, d, e) S | hlist_for_each_entry_continue_rcu(a, - b, c) S | nr_neigh_for_each(a, - b, c) S | nr_neigh_for_each_safe(a, - b, c, d) S | nr_node_for_each(a, - b, c) S | nr_node_for_each_safe(a, - b, c, d) S | - for_each_gfn_sp(a, c, d, b) S + for_each_gfn_sp(a, c, d) S | - for_each_gfn_indirect_valid_sp(a, c, d, b) S + for_each_gfn_indirect_valid_sp(a, c, d) S | for_each_host(a, - b, c) S | for_each_host_safe(a, - b, c, d) S | for_each_mesh_entry(a, - b, c, d) S ) ...+> [akpm@linux-foundation.org: drop bogus change from net/ipv4/raw.c] [akpm@linux-foundation.org: drop bogus hunk from net/ipv6/raw.c] [akpm@linux-foundation.org: checkpatch fixes] [akpm@linux-foundation.org: fix warnings] [akpm@linux-foudnation.org: redo intrusive kvm changes] Tested-by: Peter Senna Tschudin <peter.senna@gmail.com> Acked-by: Paul E. net: Require exact match for TCP socket lookups if dif is l3mdev Currently, socket lookups for l3mdev (vrf) use cases can match a socket that is bound to a port but not a device (ie., a global socket). There is currently a 1-byte hole following the flags, so it can be expanded to u16 without increasing the size of the struct. net: move inet_dport/inet_num in sock_common commit 68835aba4d9b (net: optimize INET input path further) moved some fields used for tcp/udp sockets lookup in the first cache line of struct sock_common. This patch moves inet_dport/inet_num as well, filling a 32bit hole on 64 bit arches and reducing number of cache line misses in lookups. Also change INET_MATCH()/INET_TW_MATCH() to perform the ports match before addresses match, as this check is more discriminant. Remove the hash check from MATCH() macros because we dont need to re validate the hash value after taking a refcount on socket, and use likely/unlikely compiler hints, as the sk_hash/hash check makes the following conditional tests 100% predicted by cpu. Introduce skc_addrpair/skc_portpair pair values to better document the alignment requirements of the port/addr pairs used in the various MATCH() macros, and remove some casts. The namespace check can also be done at last. This slightly improves TCP/UDP lookup times. IP/TCP early demux needs inet->rx_dst_ifindex and TCP needs inet->min_ttl, lets group them together in same cache line. With help from Ben Hutchings & Joe Perches. Idea of this patch came after Ling Ma proposal to move skc_hash to the beginning of struct sock_common, and should allow him to submit a final version of his patch. bpf: Introduce BPF_PROG_TYPE_SK_REUSEPORT This patch adds a BPF_PROG_TYPE_SK_REUSEPORT which can select a SO_REUSEPORT sk from a BPF_MAP_TYPE_REUSEPORT_ARRAY. Like other non SK_FILTER/CGROUP_SKB program, it requires CAP_SYS_ADMIN. BPF_PROG_TYPE_SK_REUSEPORT introduces "struct sk_reuseport_kern" to store the bpf context instead of using the skb->cb[48]. At the SO_REUSEPORT sk lookup time, it is in the middle of transiting from a lower layer (ipv4/ipv6) to a upper layer (udp/tcp). At this point, it is not always clear where the bpf context can be appended in the skb->cb[48] to avoid saving-and-restoring cb[]. Even putting aside the difference between ipv4-vs-ipv6 and udp-vs-tcp. It is not clear if the lower layer is only ipv4 and ipv6 in the future and will it not touch the cb[] again before transiting to the upper layer. For example, in udp_gro_receive(), it uses the 48 byte NAPI_GRO_CB instead of IP[6]CB and it may still modify the cb[] after calling the udp[46]_lib_lookup_skb(). Because of the above reason, if sk->cb is used for the bpf ctx, saving-and-restoring is needed and likely the whole 48 bytes cb[] has to be saved and restored. Instead of saving, setting and restoring the cb[], this patch opts to create a new "struct sk_reuseport_kern" and setting the needed values in there. The new BPF_PROG_TYPE_SK_REUSEPORT and "struct sk_reuseport_(kern|md)" will serve all ipv4/ipv6 + udp/tcp combinations. There is no protocol specific usage at this point and it is also inline with the current sock_reuseport.c implementation (i.e. no protocol specific requirement). In "struct sk_reuseport_md", this patch exposes data/data_end/len with semantic similar to other existing usages. Together with "bpf_skb_load_bytes()" and "bpf_skb_load_bytes_relative()", the bpf prog can peek anywhere in the skb. The "bind_inany" tells the bpf prog that the reuseport group is bind-ed to a local INANY address which cannot be learned from skb. The new "bind_inany" is added to "struct sock_reuseport" which will be used when running the new "BPF_PROG_TYPE_SK_REUSEPORT" bpf prog in order to avoid repeating the "bind INANY" test on "sk_v6_rcv_saddr/sk->sk_rcv_saddr" every time a bpf prog is run. It can only be properly initialized when a "sk->sk_reuseport" enabled sk is adding to a hashtable (i.e. during "reuseport_alloc()" and "reuseport_add_sock()"). The new "sk_select_reuseport()" is the main helper that the bpf prog will use to select a SO_REUSEPORT sk. It is the only function that can use the new BPF_MAP_TYPE_REUSEPORT_ARRAY. As mentioned in the earlier patch, the validity of a selected sk is checked in run time in "sk_select_reuseport()". Doing the check in verification time is difficult and inflexible (consider the map-in-map use case). The runtime check is to compare the selected sk's reuseport_id with the reuseport_id that we want. This helper will return -EXXX if the selected sk cannot serve the incoming request (e.g. reuseport_id not match). The bpf prog can decide if it wants to do SK_DROP as its discretion. When the bpf prog returns SK_PASS, the kernel will check if a valid sk has been selected (i.e. "reuse_kern->selected_sk != NULL"). If it does , it will use the selected sk. If not, the kernel will select one from "reuse->socks[]" (as before this patch). The SK_DROP and SK_PASS handling logic will be in the next patch. bpf: Introduce BPF_PROG_TYPE_SK_REUSEPORT This patch adds a BPF_PROG_TYPE_SK_REUSEPORT which can select a SO_REUSEPORT sk from a BPF_MAP_TYPE_REUSEPORT_ARRAY. The SK_DROP and SK_PASS handling logic will be in the next patch. treewide: use kv[mz]alloc* rather than opencoded variants There are many code paths opencoding kvmalloc. Let's use the helper instead. The main difference to kvmalloc is that those users are usually not considering all the aspects of the memory allocator. E.g. allocation requests <= 32kB (with 4kB pages) are basically never failing and invoke OOM killer to satisfy the allocation. This sounds too disruptive for something that has a reasonable fallback - the vmalloc. On the other hand those requests might fallback to vmalloc even when the memory allocator would succeed after several more reclaim/compaction attempts previously. There is no guarantee something like that happens though. This patch converts many of those places to kv[mz]alloc* helpers because they are more conservative.
